also i figured out why the asker can’t find “corpse wiggler” post! “tilthat,” the blog at the top of the post, was REMOVED BY TUMBLR (in the same way that a lot of reddit-reuploading blogs do), and those posts get hard-wiped from tumblr contrary to the “saving” powers you may think reblogs have.
no idea when the original was posted, but i’m sure you found out about this during your searching!
Do you have, or know how old the Corpse Wiggler post is? I am wondering if the Pear Wiggler came first or the Corpse Wiggler. I can not find an actual link to the Corpse Wiggler on tumblr.com anywhere, just Reddit screenshots.
pear wiggler was 2014 (!!!) so i think that came first

Do y'all remember when everyone was all "omg they found a new organ" and people were like WHERE WAS IT THIS WHOLE TIME HOW DID THEY MISS IT? but actually what happened was the mesentery, which is actually a very big and very visible structure, had just been reclassified as an organ? That was it.
Never take science headlines in mainstream news sources at face value. And keep a healthy dose of skepticism in reserve for the actual content of the articles, too.
#original#ps tilthat falls under this#in fact they are a particularly heinous offender#it makes sense when you realize the blurbs they post are just from reddit#and at least half the time the summary doesn't even reflect the article they link to#but it LOOKS like a content curator run by like one person who writes all these blurbs so people assume the accuracy is at least consistent#when it absolutely is not

todayilearnedthat was deactivated by tumblr for some reason
i don't know why yet, i emailed support but who knows if/when they'll get back to me. i can think of a number of reasons why:
1. the last post i made before deletion was a text wall that contained Zalgo text and they might have deleted me for formatting abuse or something? this seems somewhat unlikely to me because in the past it's usually taken months for tumblr to act on reports, but who knows.
2. the fact that every post contains links might have flagged it as a spamblog. i suspect this is also why TILthat gets periodically deactivated without warning. some people have also accused me of linking to viruses, which i suspect is because either spambot crawlers find my blog linking to a non-existent URL autoregister it because they think it's an expired domain and fill it with malware -OR- because most of my links should go to a DNS error page and some malware infections will redirect all DNS errors to a site that tries to download even more malware, basically a prior malware infection being blamed on me.
3. The fact that it looked like the actual TILthat, even though I marked in my header that everything was lies, almost nothing I posted was remotely believable and the links were all jokes to tip people off if all of the above failed. I'm going to be pissed if that's the case because what I was doing was pretty much the exact US Supreme Court definition of "parody" and TILthat has literally taken all of their content down to the name/icon from the subreddit and as far as I know there's nothing officially sanctioned about it so like how do you steal something already stolen?
4. david karp was personally furious about that post i made over a year ago where i said tumblr was originally conceived as bumblr as a place where he could post pictures of his ass.

Why do people keep reblogging from TILthat, like I'm not saying this as part of cancel culture or whatnot I'm saying that blog is legitimately a shitty source of information, where on every single post someone is either forced to correct and/or expand on the originally stated information.

vivvav commented on tilthat's post “TIL Minnesota keeps the original Confederate flag hidden and refuses...”
This is great and I love it but how amazing would it be in Minnesota publicly burned the flag?
Honestly? Not at all. Because that flag was won in seven minutes with the blood of 82% of the volunteers from a brand-new state. They were asked for five minutes, they delivered seven, and with it, Gettysburg, and quite probably the tide of the war.
THAT is the sort of thing that we need to remember. In its proper context, it is a powerful symbol. A Private from Minnesota captured the colors of a Virginia regiment the day after they’d killed 4/5 of the men he served with, and most of his officers, and he kept on, and that is worth remembering.
Putting that symbol up and saying ‘that’s what we think of you trying to hold on to slavery, we’ll take your flag even if you beat the shit out of us, and we’ll still win,’ that’s ... yeah.
Ya not gonna win this one with a born-and-bred Minnesotan and someone who’s been told this story like it’s a dear family tale for the last fifteen years.

The original post was from just shower thoughts not something like tilthat or another fact based blog but I do appreciate the heck out of this explanation regardless.
Animals don’t understand the concept of an accident. Your dog thinks you got out of the bed in the middle of the night just to kick him in the head.
