Day 1: Original vs Current Design

Worm notes: I think it's very sneet how both of these characters started as RPG characters (Rex for Cyberpunk RED, Vic for Glitterhearts) and then took on lives of their own :3 Vic has changed preety significantly in going from 6'2 and beefy to 6'6 and lomg, and also growing out his hair, and becoming. well. a werewolf and a cyborg, as opposed to a human college student, BUT he remains a) from Miami and b) hopelessly addicted to nicotine and c) knee injuries georg.

Putting both Rexes side by side like this really shows just how much more jaded he got in canon, vs who he was in-game. So much growth! He used to be a lot more overtly sweet and now he's just. VERY intimidating.

I love how I left the fandom for a few years, then returned to this nightmare. Nothing new—I went through this with the Zim fandom years ago. I actually drew this in excitement of the live action two days ago, and then I saw what became of it after it was released and my motivation just slumped again. I wanted to draw works adapted into my own versions of the movie. That's the thing about me—I get inspired so easily but I let others get under my skin too much and just tend to back off and leave my ideas on the wayside. But man, the backlash has been unreal. Screw it though, maybe I'll just do it because I want to. I'm 35 now, a stressed mother with a mortgage and I'm just so TIRED of this shit happening in the various fandoms I've been a part of. Lilo and Stitch has been the ONE thing that kept me slumping throughout the years. I looked forward to the movie for so long, even when others were just entirely negative and hating on it. Yes, I will still stand my ground as one of the few that ENJOYED the movie. Why? Because in the 2002 movie, Stitch and Jumba were originally designed to be criminals and Stitch was a gang leader, Jumba being a PART of his gang. The deleted 747 sequence with Stitch's gang is a direct reference to this. Of course that was all removed though because it was too mature for a kids movie and the themes didn't sit well with audiences. I say this though, as I believe this to be the most likely reason why Jumba was a criminal in the movie vs the empathetic father we received in the show/series/shorts. Could be wrong, but I think it's entirely plausible. I didn't exactly mind Zach Galifianakis as Jumba, it certainly was interesting to see Jumba in a different light—though yes, I prefer original Jumba at the end of the day, as well as the original Pleakley. Because of their personalities. The OG franchise is a staple to my heart and always will be.

Regardless, I'll still be drawing what I love and have loved since I was 12. The current attitude towards the live action won't change anything for me. I have my own aspects of the franchise that I enjoy focusing on, particularly Chopsuey (621) and Jumba and Stitch's relationship. That's what keeps my passion/interests strong. I have a lot of ideas, but I don't get much time to myself anymore. So when I do post, any content of Lilo and Stitch, that's what my focus will be, as well as content from my story, Error 626, which is almost completed and I am currently writing the last chapter. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12709810/1/Error-626

For now though, I might consider colouring this up if I can kick the negativity bringing me down. It's not just that though, I've had it pretty rough the past few months with a very hurtful family situation going on in the background.

Askayaso kanae’andae, I come with a question. Thinking about anthro designs had made one thing stick out to me… why are your Hunter’s eyes black? This does not seem to be a common feature among yongi(?) though sattokubi and masinabi’s pure white eyes are hard to miss and possibly bear some similarities? just a random question, since Hunter designs with pure black eyes are my favorite <3

mahin ho askasa! So it simultaneously does and doesn't mean anything. I made some connection between design certain choices to convey ethnicity. If we spent more time outside the shelter, those distinctions would become a lot less definitive and more varied, but all the slugcats that live in the shelter I designed with relation to one another.

Arti, Spearmaster, and Watcher all have pure white eyes because that's how they are in-game, and it makes for a good contrast with their primary colors. Rivulet's eyes are big because her eyes are big in-game, but it also helps convey her personality. Her and Saint being so distinct help convey the idea that they are from way farther away than anyone else.

Pro Riv strats: enjoying life and spending time with your friends

Monk, Survivor, and Gourmand all have eyes with visible irises because I wanted to create a sense of commonality between them. By giving them similar design cues, like similar nose and eye shapes, head wraps, and outfits, I could convey the idea that they were all from the same ethnicity and distinct culture, as opposed to everyone else in the shelter who each have different origins.

My Hunter's eyes actually used to be like the colony slugcats' in her first design but I made them black because I wanted her to be distinct from the others in that way, as a counter to the ones with pure white eyes, and to bring her a little closer to the slugcat designs in game.

In a way, making Hunter stand out would help the others stand out more too, in the same way that it helps to sell the idea of Monk, Survivor, and Gourmand being related.

Original Metal Breaker Tails vs current Metal Breaker Tails.

I'm so proud of myself it's only been like 5 months I think and my art has already improved so much.

I plan to do proper line art and colors for the new one I just made this as a template to try out outfits since I held a poll to give him a jacket and pants or something like that. So soon I'll be showing off designs and maybe hold a poll to see what ya'll think of whatever outfits I come up with.

but don't expect that very soon I still feel terrible I might go lay down after posting this.

Okay, so I've finally started refining the character designs for my OUATIS animation, so here are the current options for Rose's revamps + a comparison between Rose and a basic Rose Red

These are all very quick and messy in order to get the ideas out but here is the basic thought process behind all of them:

Design 1: Based loosely around British military uniforms in the 1800's

Design 2: Basically just the official design for her but with a more muted colour pallet

Design 3: The original design I came up with, but I fully forgot to add the scarf thing

Wedding dress A: I wanted a more medieval style dress option since I find them gorgeous, and it's more simple to animate other than the sleeves

Wedding dress B: I adore regency era fashion, and the original Snow White and Rose Red myth was written around 1815 I think, so it's a nod to that

Wedding dress C: I honestly just thought there should be a more modern design that is closer to the official art

Rose vs Rose Red: I wanted Rose to have a much more human and flawed look to her, so while yes, they are technically identical, Rose Reds just lack the messy humanness of the original Rose, which is why their hair would be much more put together and they wouldn't have something like her scar (at least at first, they can of course get scars, but they are not created with her battle scars).

Anyways, please tell me which designs y'all prefer, because honestly I love them all for different reasons and I'd love to have other input on this project!

the game looks INSANELY good already and that's considering the game, as we see it, is supposed to release in 2028 !

it looks like it has 28 days to go to achieve its goal (and it already is doing really weel as i write this XD i mean, 14k dollars already??? god DAMN !!!)

i find it INCREDIBLY cool that the lead developer of the project is the person who made the ava/m rivals of aether mod. how cool is that dude

right away from the trailer im incredibly happy they're including purple in the main cast (another purple cameo on alanspc for the win)

the fighting kits are INSANE MAN ?? its a little surprising that orange's main moves are projectiles (which however is incredibly cool. both a throwback to anim vs. physics and (unintentional?) parallel with vic perhaps) <- (although, now reading it, it seems like the projectile objects will rotate with every move!)

green having a guitar in his kit ???? are you kidding. /vpos . i was wondering how they would optimize blue's kit but it looks SO cool dude (its likely im going to be a blue main XD)

red's kit looks interesting, especially with the shark move! its genuinely not surprising that its red who's kit currently looks best ingame lol. it's also no wonder purple's kit is best at air attacks!

the backgrounds are just. Holy hell.

the whole fact they're making like. 4 different backgrounds per Stage ??? Good lord.

other notable details: its so cool to get more details on the city from up above, seeing it's so progressed. other details: "primoral descent" billboard which is a reference to dj's original comic! plus corndog guy's stand in the second bg (also we really gotta acknowledge that moon exists in the outernet sometime.)

(as im writing this the amount of money has already went up to 34k. holy hell.)

its interesting to me as well that the game's version of special attacks charge bar is a "node meter"! another one for the computer/internet references

("a node in network refers to any physical device or point that is capable of sending, receiving, or forwarding data")

which also seems like a general running theme for the fighting scene in game itself, given that those "nodes" are also seen on the art and the character's fighting profiles

it seems like the game will either feature new game-specific soundtrack or compile existing soundtrack into a batch (which is making me Squeal because im so interested in how individual soundtracks are going to be named — yes im a fan of such details XD)

the reward tiers are. hough. holy hell

beta tests ???? tco palette???? (as im guessing with sec?????) exclusive character pins??????? FUTURE DLC???????

(also, cursor lobby pet implies that there Will be a lobby. lol)
