I headcanon that, canon era or modern era, Enjolras would wear gloves. And i have 3 other joint-headcanons for this one.
1. Im not actually sure how often he wore them, but one of Saint-Just most popular paintings has him in gloves. Enjolras definitely has a Saint just special interest (because he's autistic to me), so I'd imagine he would try to dress a bit like him
2. Enjolras gets quite cold quite fast no matter the season or weather (anemic), so he wears them to stay warm.
3. Enjolras often gets uncomfortable with things touching his bare skin (autism). So he likes to wear gloves to protect the skin on his hands from directly touching anything

what if i wrote a “shen yuan transmigrates into a wife” oneshot but the whole premise is based on the song “gone, i’m gone” from hadestown and its overall theme is wanderlust and freedom and it starts out as Shen Yuan settling into life in the palace and trying to avoid harem drama and thinking he can just live with his head down for the rest of his new life, only to be hit with a sudden intense yearning to explore his new world the likes he’s never felt before. What if he was sickly in his last life. What if he spent his entire last life indoors. Trapped between four walls. What if love is not a gilded cage. What if he begins clawing at the walls of his enclosure, desperate to escape because he wants to live, god please let him live. He can’t do this again. What if he spent months preparing for his escape and in that same breath getting the attention of some of the other wives around him because he has changed and it makes them wary. what if he got binghe’s attention as he is wont to do. What if he left. What if Shen Yuan was born with a bottomless pit in his stomach and a gaping maw in his chest. What if he was starving. What if he was starving for the world around him. What if i wrote that. What then
#svsss#shen yuan#shen qingqiu#scum villain#scum villain au#scum villans self saving system#svsss au#luo binghe#luo bingge#its the same wife transmigration plot no.143 but its starry coded#and what if i made it a songfic what then. what if i titled it ‘love is not a gilded cage’#what if there was no system in this au. just shen yuan on his own#and what if i made it part of a oneshot series with each oneshot depicting an adventure shen yuan goes on#he will eventually find his way back to binghe but not before he finds himself first#what if starry went the fuck to bed#what if the wife he ended up as was someone childish or loud or considered naive and then suddenly she’s not bc she’s sy now#and he has no system and he’s alone with no allies and he is STARVING. he is ravenous. he wants to see the world please let him see the wor#world. let him out please please please please#all the wealth within these walls could never buy the thing called love#he cares for binghe greatly. thats his fave character! but he wants out please let him out. you wont even notice he’s gone orpheus#you’ll find another muse somewhere.#luo bingge is a good hunter but shen yuan is a good hider.#i want ning yingying to find sy in the gardens one day and suddenly see her shizun. sy wanted to try doing sqq’s signature move bc it#seemed simple and easy enough and nyy saw him. and she asks him where he learned that. and he panics and lies and says in a dream somewhere#gnaws on the bars of my cage

Somebody’s bound to have said this before but can we talk about all the different meanings for the lines And you know how those Muses are/Sometimes they abandon you
First: Orpheus being abandoned by his mother, a literal Muse, hence why he’s being raised and protected by Hermes.
Second: Muse in the figurative sense, as inspiration, and it being notoriously fickle and fleeting. Muse abandoning Orpheus while he attempts to finish his song, though he abandons his own Muse just the same.
Third: Orpheus abandoning Eurydice in her time of need. Not on purpose; he’s entirely too wrapped up in his song. But nonetheless, she calls for him and he isn’t there. Unintentional as it may have been, he still abandoned her for the song he needed to complete.
Fourth: Eurydice as Orpheus’s other Muse, half figurative and half literal. Eurydice encouraging Orpheus to finish his song, which causes him to hyper focus on it, while Eurydice abandons him for the stability and comfort she needs. She abandons the unknowns and stormy weather of his world (which she knows intimately) for the shelter, certainty and safety of the world six feet under the ground below.
What I love about Hadestown in part is the depth it gave to Orpheus and Eurydice’s relationship. When the chips were down, neither of them could give the other what they needed: shelter for Eurydice, and an end to the song for Orpheus.
Orpheus also quite literally descends for his Muse (Eurydice) and discovers his figurative Muse and finishes the song. Eurydice realizes that she wants to be with Orpheus in the world above, and that the price for what she wanted was steeper than she knew. They both return to each other and realize (too late), that they are all they need.
Those lines foreshadow all the tragedy to come in a million different ways and yet we watch Orpheus and Eurydice fall in love and believe that maybe this time it will be different.
God. What a show. What a mind, Anaïs Mitchell.

Hannibal sits in his glass prison, waiting, waiting, and wondering if this is how Eurydice felt. Longing for her lover to return for her and yearning for just a glimpse of his face, his gaze? Even if it doomed them?
Especially if it doomed them, Hannibal supposed, as he recalled the storms in Will's eyes and how he would gladly drown in them.
He could sympathize; he had his own Orpheus to wait for.

The line "Jean Prouvaire was a shade softer then combeferre" implies that combeferre is also very soft, and i love that so much. He's a sweetheart

Orpheus and Linus being mortal while having two gods as their parents (Apollo and usually Calliope) makes sense to me only if their biological father was a mortal and Apollo just came into their life like this:
Tumblr media
I mean, Oeagrus is mentioned as the father of both Orpheus and Linus in some versions. And in Dionysiaca he also leaves behind Calliope and a new born Orpheus (and his entire kingdom) to join Dionysus in his war against the Indians. So Apollo stepping in as a father figure is entirely plausible.

I am convinced that whenever any of the Muses had a kid, he/she became the common ward of all the nine sisters and Apollo, because why else would every child of a Muse have 5 different parentages??

I'm soooo normal about Orpheus and Eurydice . . . blorbos from my mythology fr. like. he loved her so much and she loved him so much that they trusted each other and they trusted Hades that he would let them Walk Out Of Hell!! and then human nature catches up and Orpheus is consumed with doubts because of course he is. wouldn't we all be? that's the tragedy of it because Eurydice is is there right behind him, loving him, and trusting him but she can't do anything. and they're both helpless, Orpheus couldn't do anything other than look back because he's human and we are Weak. we love too much and that's our downfall.
