I'm in the middle of the Inktober challenge (posting on my IG story if you're interested). Sorry for the wait for my new artwork if anyone's been waiting...🫣

Anyway, inspired by my fellow artist, I decided to draw the offspring of Boba/Din and Luke/Din. I'm having a hard time now determining which pair is my OTP, so I decided they're both my OTP and drew the sons of both pairs in the same piece.

These two baby boys can exist in the same universe or not, depending on what plot you prefer. However, I have a somewhat unethical feeling that these two could make a good couple if they're not half-brothers... (Yeah, I know in some stories, they can be a couple if you don't mind the ethical issues).

I borrowed the clothing from kid Boba and Padawan but blended in "red," which comes from the traditional colors of Din's birth country, Aq Vetina.

The son of BobaDin

has Boba & Din's curls, Boba's eyebrows & lips (and probably the height, though it's hard to tell at his age), and Din's eyes & nose. He always carries a vibro-knife with him, began training at a very young age, and wants to be a great warrior like his fathers. He’s kind of grumpy but has a soft heart and is very protective of Din (who gave birth to him) and his green brother. He often looks reluctant to play with Grogu because he wants to spend most of his time training, but Grogu knows, just like everybody else, that he loves playing with his brother and cares deeply for his family!

The son of LukeDin

also has curls from Din (yes, because I love curls! Din is also the one who gave birth to him, as you all know I'm a huge sucker for bottom Din). He has Luke's hair color, eyes, nose, chin, and Force abilities, as well as Din's eyebrows, eye color, lips, and probably height. He has a playful mind, so he has no problem playing and causing mayhem together with Grogu. He has a strong Force connection like Luke, but unlike Grogu, who is prone to becoming a Mandalorian, he wants to be a Jedi under Luke's training. Although he appears confident and relaxed, he’s quite insecure about his abilities due to having two famous dads, he faces a lot of pressure others can't understand.

About how they refer to their fathers

Since Boba and Din are both Mandalorians, it can be confusing for calling them both "Buir." In my research, "Papa" is a term of endearment for "father" in Spanish and since Pedro is a Latino, so...

It's relatively easy for LukeDin's son to call his fathers: Din is "Buir," and Luke is "Dad." "Dad" has a more casual vibe, which I think suits his personality.

I don't even search radioapple anymore only appleradio but alas more people start to treat it as just another tag for their radioapple content 🙃

Okay, so, I'll be honest. I, too, use radioapple and appleradio interchangeable, and that is because I've never saw a difference between the two. Like, mentally, my brain does not differentiate them.

In all the many years I've been in fandom, this is the first time I've seen people separate who bottoms and who tops based on the placement of the names. I've literally never see that in any other of my fandom pairings.

I ship spideypool (Spider-Man/Deadpool), for example, and their ship name has always been spideypool. It's never separated into spideypool or poolspidey based on who was topping and who was bottoming. Same with BobaDin (Boba Fett/Din Djarin). I've never seen anyone refer to that pairing as DinBoba, and I've read many fics of the both of them topping and bottoming.

I'm being so serious when I say that being in the Hazbin fandom is the first time I've ever heard of it. The first time I read a post about it went 🤨 <- like that is the face I made. That was my exact expression.

I find people's hang up on the distinction kind of silly, BUT, as someone who doesn't like seeing top!Alastor content, I'm also kind of like...ya know...maybe ya'll are onto something. Maybe differentiating the two isn't such a bad idea.

This fic is something else. The worldbuilding, character relations (both between Boba and Din & Boba and Jango), and internal struggles are on point and are revealed in places where it feels just so natural for the narrative. Paired with the vibes from the fic's playlist, I can’t get enough of it. I’ve already reread it twice now and it’s still one of my favourite things I’ve read in a while. So thank you Flynn for creating such a wonderful story!

Bobadin, Old Guard AU

Start it in the Old Republic days with Din, still taken in as an orphan and raised to be a warrior for the Mandalorian Empire. He survives wars, coups, and purges and goes from thinking he's some incarnation of the kara to thinking he's been cursed. Everyone he's ever loved keeps dying. Every cause he's ever fought for fails.

By the time the Prequels era rolls around he's mostly isolated himself, unable to stand the thought of any more death and heartbreak. It still happens, though, as the Empire rises and Mandalorians are all but wiped out.

He finds one covert alive and does his best to guard them because he doesn't want to be the Last Mando Standing. They're extremists who dislike removing their helmets before strangers, but that suits him just fine: he doesn't want anyone to see his face: there's a chance, however remote, that someone might recognize him from old murals and recordings.

Finding Grogu reignites some spark in his badly-scarred heart. He becomes a little more interested in living again, if only to protect this child. It doesn't take long for him to figure out exactly what Grogu is, and at this point Jedi are as rare as Mandalorians, so he feels a certain kinship that makes him more determined to help.

And then he meets Boba and realizes he's been dreaming of him. They're alike in some way, though Boba insists he isn't a Mandalorian. He does recount a tale of his excruciating and far-too-long stay within the stomach acids of the sarlacc, certain he died over and over again, only to be spat out during the creature's death throes to find himself alive and whole.

Din knows what that means. He isn't sure what to do about it yet, but knowing that finally, after centuries of loss, he's finally found someone like him gives him hope for the future.

6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?

I used to reaaaally not like BobaDin, but yeah, some good fics can make things enjoyable! It's still not my favorite favorite but I don't automatically exclude it from my tags either

I Finally dived into Boba Fett/Din Djarin, and…

to my surprise, I LOVE IT!!!!

I know BobaDin is also a popular pair in the Mandalorian fandom, but I just couldn’t feel it at first… Probably it’s because Boba was more like a grandpa figure (👈🏻 later on I found that I was wrong… read the supplemental below👇🏻) in the Mandalorian series? I have more respect for him than any other obscene thoughts. 🤣

(Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for romance between old men as well, just that I prefer they have a smaller age gap to avoid giving me the impression that they are like family…🫣)

But recently I’ve been in the mood to dig up all the Omega Din fanfics, but there are very few for DinLuke, so I took my chances on BobaDin. To my great luck, the first story I chose to read was right hit my sweet spot!

The AU story is set in a timeline with young Boba and Din are almost the same age, to enhance my imagination, I googled photos of the younger actors and when I saw these two pics, I was like “OHHHHHHH… I’m starting to feel SOMETHING!❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥”

Maybe I will also start to draw BobaDin too? (But with younger Boba… you know the reason😆)

Oh, I’m so blessed to be part of Din Djarin fandom, he makes me want to draw 24/7 nonstop, I LOVE HIM 🥹💕

Later on, I dug deeper into the character setting of Boba Fett and found out that he was, in fact, almost the same age as Din in The Mandalorian TV series. My bad! I'm new to the SW, and I always thought Boba was much older than Din, with a 20-year age gap or something… I’m starting to view BobaDin with a new perspective…🫢

I bet Boba and Din would be a very touch starved pair, Din even more so.

And they're also not the kind to be forward about the kind of affection they want to receive.

So you've got two people who absolutely melt and yearn just to have something as simple as having their face held by the other. But neither being brave enough to show that they really enjoy and need that interaction.

But they eventually fall into an unspoken rhythm where they slowly become more affectionate with each other.

Din doesnt want to admit that hes close to blacking out from the slightest caress because it's more than hes had in a very long time.

And Boba being adamant that, no, hes not about to start crying because Din is the first person in a long time that's touched him so gently.

The Luke/Din/Boba fic I never expected to write just keeps on coming. Chapter 3 is up now on ao3! I had dreams of getting this whole thing done before May4th but it just keeps getting longer...which is hopefully not a bad thing for those reading along ;-) The best is yet to come Luke wakes from the darkness and immediately wishes the darkness would take him back.

His head is stuffed with enough wool to cover a bantha, his eyes ache at the thin light that is edging through the window’s drawn blinds, and he has the vague, terrible feeling that he’s done something he should be ashamed of but can’t for the life of him remember what it was.

The sound of a whistling kettle comes from somewhere beyond the closed door of the room he’s in but doesn’t recognize, followed by the familiar ping of a comm going off.

“Su cuy'gar, ner runi,” a deep voice answers and Luke’s Mando’a is absurdly terrible, but even he can recognize the greeting and endearment from all the times he’s overheard Din and Fett talking before.

Boba Fett. Shit. He’s in Boba Fett’s bed. He’d kissed Boba kriffing Fett on the cheek and somehow didn’t take a blaster bolt to the gut for it. The rest is coming back to him now and he doesn’t like what he’s remembering at all. Read on ao3
