Hello I'm here to yell about this too because!!!!

Just some small additions I have noticed that I feel kinda fit into the themes you've touched on here:

Moon: These aren't necessarily moon things specifically but like. Nighttime related things which counts I think:

- Fields of Elation: "daylight recedes in unison"

- Thread the Needle: "we can spend the night in fascination"

- Calcutta: "I'm whole again for just a moment, until the morning comes"

War as a metaphor for love: Again these aren't. direct references but like, related enough that they feel relevant y'know?

- Higher: "each time we battle the blood and the fury takes us a little higher"

- Say That You Will: "let the impulse to love and the instinct to kill entangle to one"

Eternity:

- Ascensionism: "eternal ascension"

- also like. This isn't necessarily eternity but both bands have a lot of themes around cycles and loops

→ Ghost with the Papas, cycling through each one of them, seeing their rise and fall with each album

→ Sleep Token for a couple reasons:

.....1) a lot of their songs talk about the cyclical nature of toxic relationships

.....2) Sundowning → TMBTE creates a cycle, with Euclid flowing into TNDNBTG and completing the loop, as well as EIA creating a loop from Infinite Baths back into Look to Windward (people smarter than I have gone into more detail about why this is such a cool loop so I'll leave it to them lol)

Random other detail that I didn't feel fit into anything else:

- Umbra: "in the shadow of the Nazarene"

- Sleep Token with their song Nazareth

I think that's all I've noticed for now but if I think of anything else I will add on :)

ive been. thinking so much about their parallels its actually been doing psychic damage to me (blasphemy, heresy) saaaave me. yap time

moon imagery

perpetua is the "moon twin" (which i expanded upon here)

vessel has moon imagery predominantly w/ the lunar anomaly in TMBTE/teeth of god, but even as early w/ sundowning (tndnbtg, "so give me the night, the night, the night")

2. eclipse imagery (this one floored me when i connected the dots im ngl)

perpetua w/ "a black moon, over a peacefield"

vessel w/ "will you halt this eclipse in me?"

both are their opening tracks on their respective albums

3. both of them have albums/music that heavily focus on relationships and emotions

lachryma w/ "i need somebody new now" -> themes from rain

satanized w/ the idea of "coming off as being possessed by a demon because you’re in love" (thanks TF) -> themes from songs like dangerous and distraction (alkaline too mayhaps)

esp compared to the fact that usually ghost albums r focused on societal institutions/overtly satanic themes whereas ST songs have always kinda focused on relationships and identity

4. they both use war as a metaphor for love -> mentioned here

perpetua w/ missilia amori n "love rockets, shot right in between your eyes" and "whenever you may run away, i'm gonna hunt you down"

vessel, notably on sundowning w/ take aim, "and it sends me shivers / how you love like weapons kill / so take aim at me for once" and "i will fire and forget till we both lay broken"

vessel w/ give too, "in this open warfare i won't fight fair"

i mean vessel also had a staff at one point and. the skeleton on the skeleta cover has a staff so that too i guess

perpetua is Ourple (or kinda pink ig) and vessel is red/green

perpetua is papa V and then vessel is referred to as V within the fandom.... double V

I loved your drawing(and I love your style in general) with Leia in your recent post! If/when you have time can we see more of her in your style? I get so happy whenever I actually see people mention/talk about her and she’s not just forgotten because we didn’t get to see much of her. 😭

thank you! 💙💙💙 Leia/Leah/Lea/whatever is fascinating to me. she is the ultimate unknown. what was she like? how involved (or even aware of any details of the invasion) was she? Silver's basically a physical carbon copy of his biodad, so what did he get from her? like, I understand why the two of them kind of have to stay as these super vague and mysterious figures -- the whole point of them is that their story ended 400+ years ago and they're not really relevant anymore (and. well. the more that gets explained about them, the less that can just kinda be handwaved as "oh the politics were Very Messy") (we can sit here and theorize all day but let us acknowledge that, ultimately, canon gave us almost nothing about them post-Meleanor and we'd just be making things up). I do still wonder about her though! RIP Lea, we never knew you and we probably never will.

actually you know what, as long as we're here, I think I WILL go ahead and just make some stuff up about what Silver might've inherited from her instead.

RW art month day 8: The Rot

still i think the one of the more fun differences drawn between illario and lucanis that was lost would be illario's ability to endear himself to others but serious lack of empathy, vs. lucanis' (self perceived) inability to be charming but how much he cares. it's interesting that the game has gone with the "lucanis' ability vs illario's lack thereof" because i think illario being the dellamorte 'best in show dog' vs. lucanis' attack dog would have made me so unwell.

lucanis is... awkward. he's not unlikable, because he is usually very polite, but he doesn't speak much and only seems to care about the other dellamortes. he once sent viago de riva a knife with no note (who knows what he could have meant by this). he does what caterina asks of him, and by his own admission, cannot say no to her. he is a dramatic and prolific killer, and that makes how untouchable he is even worse.

and the crows like illario, sure, AND he's a good assassin! he's even a good crow! he's so good that he can make lucanis smile, and so he is the charming, sociable one. he's the one that stays in treviso and can be relied upon to care, illario's even the one people prefer over caterina and lucanis!

but illario is decoration. he's the prize poodle, and even if poodles were bred to be working dogs, nobody will ever pick him to protect the house over the german shepherd that regularly mauls intruders. anyways the analogy is getting away from me. the point i'm trying to make is that i want illario to have a different kind of jealousy/hatred that's not just over 'being bad at killing' but also an arrogant loathing for everyone around him that is getting harder to hide, because they've forgotten he can bite and is just itching to rip someone's jugular out. illario is very good at hiding his family resemblance to caterina, while lucanis suffers under his grandmother's, and his own, reputation.

realized that both the beginning and the end of the happy paris stage of Loumand's relationship has this same contrasting orange to blue/green color scheme. and like. the visual metaphor of Armand literally leaving his cold, lifeless world behind him and choosing the bright, golden warmth of life with Louis instead of killing him like he was supposed to in that tunnel. but as soon as he chooses the coven over Louis, he separates from the warmth like oil in water that was never supposed to be there. and now he's back out in the cold. I'm normal about this, btw.
