🕙 EVENT SELECTED: POST-CRADLE AFFAIR 🕙 Set shortly after Xanxus has been released from being frozen in a prison of dying will flames. Alternate pathline of Neri being his main point of medical aid and recovery. Squalo is slightly younger and more volatile than the usual interacts between himself and Neri.

Trigger warnings: hospital setting, scar-mentions, swearing, extremely light male vs female violence {some yelling and one punch thrown}.

"Oi. Y'know, he's gonna be real fucking pissed if he wakes up and sees you there."

Neri turned on her stool towards the sound, spotting Squalo leaning against the doorframe. Whilst his words indicated some light-hearted teasing, he looked just about as physically worn and emotionally ragged as everyone else she'd seen come past today.

"I really fail to see how that's different from any other day." She shrugged, looking back towards the patient's bed, reaching to grab a damp towel and carefully dab it across their forehead. "At least it would confirm that his memory is in functional order."

Taking up just about the entire hospital bed, there lay an unconscious Xanxus, leader of the Varia Assassination Squad of the Vongola Mafia. Former leader, perhaps. It wasn't as if he had been in active duty for the last eight years - Squalo had to be the temporary replacement, considering he was second in command.

"You know what I meant. He's not going to want anyone's fucking pity party, least of all yours." The silver-headed man had snarled, his boots noisy against the linoleum floor as he stopped beside her, glaring down at the unresponsive body. "Why are you even here?!"

"Don't yell at me." Neri shot back irritably, the uncharacteristic words tasting bitter on her tongue. "I'm not the group of idiots who decided to orchestrate all of this in the first place!"

She saw the rush of white movement in the corner of her eye - though thankfully, she'd been expecting the retaliation. Bringing up her arm, she blocked his fist with it, clenching her jaw at the resulting pain. "Otto anni, Squalo! Non pensi che sarei arrabbiato anche per questo?!" {Eight years, Squalo! Don't you think I'd be mad about that too?!}

"You weren't a part of the Varia - you were a part of the problem. Best buddies with all the do-gooders of Vongola! Besides, Xanxus treated you like shit! You and your father!" Squalo hissed furiously through clenched teeth, pushing harder with his weight, enough for her stool to squeak backwards a few inches. "So why now would you want to help?!"

"Perché io non sono lui!" {Because I'm not him!} Her free hand latched onto Squalo's arm, trying to alleviate some of the pressure off of her before he ended up breaking bones. It was made all the more challenging by the way those eyes snapped onto her hand then back at her face - nevermind the swords, a sharks glare is terrifying when right up close. "I'm not him! And I'm not the one who put him there! For god's sake, I want to help because I'm--" Neri pulled her hands back, placing one of them to her forehead as she resumed looking back down at Xanxus in distress. "When I found out about all of this.. what the top representative of Vongola had done, an organisation that I've always been so proudly a part of-- do you know how utterly revolting that makes me feel?! All those times that he'd called me a hypocrite-- all this time, going on and on about how the mafia doesn't just have to be violence, cruelty and death-- and then to learn that this-- this is how we deal with our internal conflicts?! We imprison them, cut them off from everyone they love, stop their entire life from advancing for eight years!"

Squalo's own anger extinguished at seeing the ordinarily so polite and reserved woman raising her voice and actually showing a little teeth for once. If it were under different circumstances, he might have been impressed. But he stared at her silently, something her words sticking out to him. "..He looks exactly the same. We've all.. we've all aged, gone on without him, and he.."

"I'd imagine it's created an effect similar to cryogenics. The specifics of Dying Will Flames are more of my father's area." Neri murmured tiredly, appreciative that for the time being, they seemed to have moved on from arguing. " There's always the potential that when he regains consciousness, he'll still have the psychological mindset of a teenager, or believe that only a few days might have passed since the insurgency."

"So what you're telling me is - I'm now older than my fucking teenage boss." Squalo remarked in such a flat-toned drawl, she couldn't help but give a nervous giggle that escalated in the two of them chortling about the ridiculousness of it. Either that, or just the adrenaline wearing off.

"Xanxus is terrible to everyone. I'm not an exception." Neri spoke up again, daring to attempt patting down his face with the cool cloth again. "He's called me just about every derogatory name under the sun, threatened to kill my father just to prove a point, but I still.. I just don't think I could have ever responded in such a way that the Vongola has. There's something to be said about teaching important lessons, but this.. it just seems so.. so cruel."

"That's how the mafia does things. If anyone's the fucking hypocrite, it's Timoteo." Squalo snarled vehemently, balling his hands into fists again and slamming them down just a fraction away from Xanxus's leg. He didn't stir, nor did Neri - she didn't want to upset the moment. But for the time being, the swordsman chose to quell his anger, glancing over at her. "He's gonna be okay though, right?"

"For now, all we can do is wait. I'll keep doing what I can until he wakes up. Perhaps, get some advice on what to do about these." Neri shrugged, gently tracing her fingertips across some of the scarring left across most of Xanxus's body. "Regardless, he's going to need extensive muscle therapy for several months, I'd say. I might need your help to make sure he doesn't try to do too much at a time. The body recovers on nobody's agenda but its own."

"Ha. You say that like I could even stop the boss doing whatever the hell he wants, injured or not." Squalo snorted sarcastically, causing them to share another chuckle. Moments of silence passed between them where they just stood, watching the larger man's chest slowly rise and fall as he breathed. Then, Squalo stuck his hand out.

Neri blinked, looking up at him questioningly - but he was looking away from her. Typical man. Shaking her head a fraction, she smiled warmly, taking the hand in hers and giving it a light, comforting squeeze.

"Non abbandonarlo." {Don't abandon him.} Squalo muttered under his breath, spinning on a heel and disappearing out of the room as if nothing had passed or been said between them at all.

Staring after him for a little bit longer, Neri sighed as she pulled her stool back over to the original position of right beside Xanxus's head on the pillow, leaning down onto her arms as she'd watched him.

"Non preoccuparti. Non lo farò." {Don't worry. I won't.}

He expected her to just sit back and take it then? To accept his inevitable decline in sanity the longer he lived as a lich? Oh no. No no no. "You really expect me to do nothing about this?" she held up the scroll she had snagged on liches, her curious nature having certainly come around to bite her in the ass in this instance.

"There are things we can do, things that I can do to save you from insanity... if you think that I'm not going to do them, you're wrong." it was quite the sight to see her standing up for herself, to see her standing up against him when he spoke to her as plainly as he did.

Tareque looked at her as if she were spouting a foreign language to him. After the research he had done throughout his years, if certainly felt like she was.

"Do you think it is not something I have read into?" He asked the question, almost wryly. "It is inevitable," he accepted with a slight shrug. "This is a curse, not a gift, by technicality. Eventually it drives away the desire for all bodily necessity and we become a demilich." ... Or a hunter would find and destroy his phylactery. That was more likely, given the impulsive and hungering tendencies that eventually fueled a lich's actions.

He waved a hand somewhat dismissively. "That is further in the future than I can imagine, though. Love, I am practically a youth on that pathline. I hardly see it as something to worry about, yet."

honestly I feel some joy, out of this entire roster of characters I have so far. my favorite being just my first character ever with Tina, and playing more as Levia.

That the thought of playing Elsword just makes me feel really lazy to really make progress that what's the point in doing anything in Elsword? all it's been is just

'you do better with +11's' or some thing or higher erp.

like recently KR posted about a free +11 SoA (Submergence of Abyss) and +10 r21 Tene gear. as an upcoming thing but like. what's the point for me anyways? like new players still have to work for their titles, I still have titles to complete but how I feel is just I just can't do it, all I can do on Elsword is just afk, maybe do heroics once or twice and just afk.

like look at this collection, I did all of this, on my own. with no Event (No offense to those who hate certain characters, I get it I hate Chung and I hate elboi and literally refused to play them and did them on my own.)

when we all asked for MC portraits, the devs wanted them to feel special, but the thing was we wanted an alternate portrait. I'm sorry but like I hate the 3rd job portraits being used as skills, I don't feel great about it anymore.

Like what is the point of being an Elsword player anymore? I'm still an older player but even then I'm tired of it, I'm tired of a new character (Tired to the point of, even trying to reason with people about what character should be playable instead of a brand new one.) , I'm tired of the story, like the threat of the Flame King's Daughter is just my favorite enjoyment out of Closers than anything Henir's Order can do. (No offense to anyone.)

The rewrites felt so blatantly bad that you can view the old story region videos in game, that one of them Berthe is dead, but because that isn't even canon anymore as the story rewrite made it that he just left Feita instead, they didn't bother to remove those contents

Trainer's death in Closers hit me more hard, and experiencing his memory in Noah's Museum hit even more. I learned more about that Watch about how it worked once, and it stopped working and loved it for everything that Wolfdog's really hit emotionally than anything I could reason with. Because Tina was my first character, just like Eve's Code Ultimate is my favorite pathline in Elsword even being the first class I've played as Code Nemesis way back in 2012-2013.

Like I feel like I earned my progress in Closers more than anything in Elsword, because you can say I gave up, but Elsword team.

Solo Mode? I honestly have no words for it, I did a bit of Abyss on my own just to see what it was like, and didn't feel like fighting Ran. that I just let him take me out.

No hate towards people who are actively stuck, I'm not upset with you, I'm one of the many players who would love to help you even if it means people calling me a hand holder because I would carry you.

Like we can all reminisce Eltrion, and Perkisas days. but that's the thing we aren't like those days anymore, I wish we were.

but What else is there to be done? waste our time? wittling away at doing how many dungeons a day to get title counts? EXP farming?

I barely look in the Elsword server to even bother saying a thing because I been that busy with other things.

Second Dejection

1/3 - Clear 'Moonlight Hill (Day) (Uphill)' [0/1]

Noah wishes to know exactly how everything changes in his second life, so he decides to follow Titania on the way to find the ingredients for the cure. While battling monsters, Noah feels a strange sense of deja vu as he watches Titania fight, but shakes it off.

Though he feared it was a repeat of the past, this time, he managed to save Yuria and the camp.

Noah felt a small potential from the small change. Though it's scary and he's still apprehensive, perhaps he can change something this time.

2/3 - Read the Old Journal ('Someone's Lab')

Perhaps it was the uncertainty he felt watching Titania, but Noah's power becomes unstable and he has a harder time controlling his power. Clamor gives him tips about magic that can materialize his unstable power and Noah hopes this too, becomes a new possibility.

But… How should he move forward?

From endless apprehension and dejection, the fact that Noah was able to save Yuria and the camp served as a sliver of hope, but still, Noah was unable to completely shake off his negative feelings.

A relationship that that was formed for the first time, magic he's learning for the first time, and his power that's still unstable. Too many things changed to be happy about what's better than before, and all those things caused Noah to still suffer apprehension.

3/3 - Clear 'Moonlight Hill (Day) (Uphill)' [0/1]

Clamor reassured Noah that his power should stabilize once he becomes more familiar with magic, but is that true? Perhaps he's going the wrong direction. No, did he even want to move forward?

He knows he must, but his feet are glued to the ground.Z

If it's possible, he wishes to push back on revenge and hope this moment lasts forever.

Noah hides his desire to settle now and avoid his goals and began to slowly move on.

Look while I love Adrestia pathline a lot. I'm sorry but aside from her 3rd Job clothing attire and appearance. her Idle's are really.....bad imo. Patrona is still cool, only if they made her stand differently and Soar Knight I really wouldn't change it, maybe if all idle's showed her holding Divinus Manus. (I know people will bitch about her 'stealing' or 'copying' Elboi's Immortal but idc tbh. I felt the same way when CU's idle pose is suppose to make it like she's got Odin Spear/Nasod Spear beside her but she doesn't so I dislike that idle as well.)

Like I for the life of me know the difference between Bored Elesis and Adrestia idle. but tbh I have made that mistake a few times. but look at Patrona and her transcendence art and skill cut in. She looks interesting

I dunno, I like Patrona a lot as her design, and I know KoG won't change her design as Adrestia, because it's still the final design and they wouldn't want to change her story video for the new design.

it really is like....so sad that your nerevarine, no matter who they are, canonically play into the empires attempt to destabilize the region to further increase their colonial power and etc. theres a LOT of manipulating forces at play, azura also wants you to do roughly the same things for different reasons, and the scenario seems to be set up to make it inevitable that SOMEONE (tho not necessarily your nerevarine) will complete the prophecy, kill dagoth ur, destabilize the tribunal via severing their godhood and thus cause All That Shit but its still like....so sad. 

and THEN the red year is pretty much a direct result of this, which was also probably part of the “intended” outcome
