ASK EDDIE returns Thursday, June 26, 7:00 PM PT to our Facebook page.
FNF prez Eddie Muller responds to film noir fan questions fielded by the Foundation's Director of Communications Anne Hockens. In this edition, we discuss the use of AI in film restoration; actor Glenn Ford; our favorite voices in film noir; classic era film composer/conductor/music department head Constantin Bakaleinikoff, why no one cared about spoilers in the past and why they so reviled now, and more. Plus, Eddie teases a possible new FNF restoration project. We wrap up with Eddie’s technique for making a Vesper Martini. On the cat front, a viewer asks if Anne puts a leash on Emily and takes her for walks.
Want your question answered in a future episode? We solicit questions from our email subscribers in our monthly newsletters. Sign up for free

I sort of saw this one coming. Yellow Pinkie, the Goldfinger/Arch-Rival of Secret Squirrel had to be involved. I also love how this guy just looks like The Kingpin. Seriously. Does this mean Paul Frees could have done Kingpin for a 60s animated Marvel show? I think it does, actually. Paul Frees used a voice I found similar to his Boris Badenov and Burgermeister Meisterberger. Very german or eastern european. But he was good at those types of voices, wasn't he? I think he was, since he did those voices a lot. (Scooby-Doo Team-Up #22):

Today is Paul Frees birthday! Born June 22, 1920, he would have been 105 years old today. Paul was the voice of the "Ghost Host" in the Haunted Mansion attraction at the Magic Kingdom. He also did several of the voices in the Pirates of the Caribbean. He voiced Disney's Professor Ludwig Von Drake and did many narrations for Disney shorts, films and attractions. Mr Frees also did many other well known characters in his career including the Pillsbury Doughboy and Boris from the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. In the 2003 Disney movie the Haunted Mansion there is an animated singing bust in Frees' likeness as a tribute and he was posthumously honored as a Disney Legend in 2006 for the many contributions to the Disney Legacy! His will be a talent loved and missed by many and never to be duplicated or replaced.

the ADVENTURES THRU INNER SPACE attraction at Disneyland, which was dismantled and retired some FORTY YEARS AGO, in order to make way for the "new" STAR TOURS attraction in Tomorrowland!!

(Scooby-Doo Team-Up #21): It's Spy Fiction time, as Mystery Inc meets Secret Squirrel, or Agent 000 of the I.S.S. (International Sneaky Service). In preparation for reading this, I watched three random old Secret Squirrel cartoons. They were pretty good. Mel Blanc and Paul Frees apparently did almost all the voices, but those two bounced off each other pretty well. So the shorts are fun to watch, to the point where I think we could probably use more of him today.

Like NBC was trying to cash in on the Batman craze with Captain Nice, CBS also tried to cash in with Mr Terrific. The series was about Stanely Beamish (Stephen Strimpell) a gas station attendant who could transform into a superhero when he took a pill developed by the government. In the unaired pilot, Beamish was played by Alan Young. The first episode aired on January 9, 1967. Legendary voice actor Paul Frees was the narrator. ("Matchless" Mr Terrific, TV Event)
