That was Day 7 of the #permaculturedesigncertification we talked about trees, #ginormous #grass aka #bamboo and a #picknick at #clemson #experimental #forest where we forgot our dishwear and had to get #creative. Then, we went to Kiersten Robertson's farm & saw #silvopasturing, where trees and pasture animals are combined, plus a ton of other permaculture in action and some sweet #mulberries & #goumi harvesting & #snacking. I graduated from permaculture design course at Regenerate Design Institute yesterday! Wow! A whole year-four seasons course...so much fun and passion and love ❤️ and unmatchable amount of gratitude, for Gaia and the beautiful souls that teach and inspire me to be on this path! I'm transformed, renewed, and repurposed. Our grads give back to the planet, people and the future 👨‍🌾 . Spotlight on another one of our permaculture course graduates: Benito. Our course was his second #permaculturedesigncertificate experience. He really wanted to get it, to better his approach to regenerate and enhance ecosystems health and get the next generations on a good #regenerative and #sustainability based track, fully stepping into his role as an earth and people centered steward 🕊 . With his business, @myprivatefarmer, he designs, builds and maintains home and #schoolgardens, and also educates and trains young students and their teachers in the art and science of #permaculture and #organicgardening. At the personal level, he got him self a piece of land in #Baja #California to restore and to bring #ecology to the area, a space to inspire and engage the local #community with. He is also taking it upon himself to give more than he takes from our society and help people without many options see that good and hope exists in the world. He organized his network and gathered resources to give back to people in very difficult situations at the border. He gets no tax exemptions or any other benefits beyond contributing to putting smiles on people's faces and our better common future 🌱 . Big dreams and ideas come to life with good planning. Good planning takes working smart. And now, during our curent fast changing times, characterised by ever-growing ecological and social degradation, learning how to bring the dreams and ideas of a regenerative and sustainable future to life is more important than ever. The rewards of that learning, including what it creates when put in practice one intelligent step at a time, are infinitely beautiful and fulfilling. We got a farm! Starting this year, we will transform this into a regenerative and sustainable space that will grow food and medicine, host permaculture and farming courses, as well as healing retreats and farm stays. This #regenerative #farm will support and enhance the local ecosystems, regenerate a spring, sequester lots of carbon, feed and educate lots of people! We will share all that we are doing and learning on a regular basis, with visits and support from some amazing leaders in the #permaculture, #regenerative #farming and #sustainability movement. Beyond running her own #beekeeping and #bee related natural products businesses (all #vegan), she also works a regular job, started #school at a local #unviversity and works with us promoting our #home #composting and #zerowaste programs for a local #government. We also hired her to facilitate and coordinate our #sanclemente #permaculture course. A true #eco #entrepreneur. Rocking #life and contributing to a better future for all 🌐 . This is what our #education helps do. Reconnecting #people with their #ancestral power to steward our shared #environment and #community.
