  Is it your first Animal Crossing game? Nope. I played the one on the Gamecube, New Leaf, Pocket Camp, and now New Horizons!

   Do you listen to the game music or put some of your own? Usually have the game music on! Not often very loud, just enough for some ambient background noise.

   What are your 8 reactions?

The ?, the !, clappy hands, glee, doze, and the other 3 i change around a lot. I’m missing so many. Want more!

   Do you use them a lot? For photo ops with villagers and around friends, sure!

   How many rooms do you have in your house? All 6 of them!

   What are they? (Kitchen, bedroom, etc) Main room is just a collection of stuff that I like, some tables and chairs, and then some useful things like mirror, crafting bench, switch, and some trinkets from in-game mom. My top room and right-side room are currently just holding items for a friend. She's planning on restarting her game, but some items she didn't want to lose. So it's just a junk graveyard right now. The right side room was initially a craft room with sewing machines and stuff, and then the bottom bit was the fathers day mug, some tea, and a set of golf clubs. It was going to be a little room dedicated to my irl mum and dad. But yeah. It's holding junk right now. Left side room is a sort of bathroom. Upstairs is a bedroom/study. Also pet cat room. Has cat food, cat tower, cat nip, kitty litter, etc. And a paper tiger acting as the cat.

   What’s the main purpose of your storage? To hold all the crap I might need one day.

   Do you time travel? Why?Nah. I have plenty to do in game each day, I don't need to leap ahead. Even now when I'm making cat-town, it sure would be quicker to skip ahead, but the 3 days gives me time to do other things. I'll get there in the end.

   Do you have a list of dreamies? I hate this phrase. :D

I am currently working on my all cat village (plus the wolf, Skye, cos she's a sweetie and I can't get rid of her), and I'm moving in a lot of my favourite cats / villagers in general. But there are definitely villagers I like more from other species. I've never really sat down and looked at all billion villagers to decide my ultimate favourites. There are lots of cute bunnies out there. Who knows, maybe 3 months down the line I'll make a bunny village. Since it's taking me like 3 weeks to move in all the cats, I want them stuck around for a while.

— Island    What’s the meaning of your island name? Haven! Haven is one of the key locations in a story I've been "writing" for the past 20 years. It tends to be my go-to place of things to name in games where I build a settlement.

   A picture of your island before vs now?

   Do you have all the fruits? I do! Nom nom.

   Do you have all kind of trees? It's mostly fruit trees, and I have about 6 normal trees, and about 3 or 4 cedars. Although I've not had to shake my fruit trees for money for a while now, I like that the option's there. I have just enough non-fruit trees for furniture and wasp needs.

   Do you have bushes? Which is your favorite? A few, but I don't think I have them all. A few of the currently flowering ones, but mostly out of season ones. They make cute borders.

   What flower is the most prominent? Tulips are probably the most prominent in my village.

   Which flower is your favorite? And what color? I love the hyacinths. The orangey ones are my favourite, but I like blue too. I think I only have like 2 blues though.

   Do you commission Flick? Have had one thing made by him in the past. I should do more now that I don't really need the money. But honestly I haven't seen Flick in forever, and the days I do see him, I'm busy doing something else.

   Do you interact a lot with your villagers? Yep! I try to talk to all of them each day, but I'm sure I miss a couple, especially if they're hiding in bum-fuck egypt. I miss the Megaphone from ACNL :(

   What kind of gifts do you give them? If I've got some junk lying around, they'll get that. I totally gift back ugly clothes. Every few days I'll gift some of them a wrapped ironwood clock. They seem to like that.

   Favorite & least favorite personality? Normal and Peppy are my faves. Jock probably my least fave.

   Which visiting NPC is your favorite? Probably Flick. I like catching bugs, it's pretty chill.

   Which is your least favorite? Redd. BECAUSE HE NEVER COMES HERE. I WANT MY ART YOU SHIT.

   Do you always help Wisp? Yes <3 Love that little goober.

   Do you buy or craft tools? Bit of both? If I'm lazy, I'll just go to the shops. If I'm stocking up on something then I'll craft. I need to make a bunch of nets for the bug-off in a few days! :D

   Do you have any gold tools? Recently got the recipe for the gold watering can. But since it still breaks, eh, I'll just stick to my tier 2 can.

   Do you recover a hole with your feet or the shovel? I try to just use my feet, but if it's in the middle of other flowers I'll use the shovel for precision, so I don't accidentally pluck a flower.

   Do you buy fake paintings/statues? I WOULD IF REDD CAME TO MY ISLAND. I'll generally buy the real ones, but if there's a fake I really like I'll nab it for myself.

   Do you buy a lot of clothes? Yas!

   Do you buy a lot of wallpapers/floors/carpets? I do, but there's so few I end up liking :( I'll buy the fancy stuff from Saharah when I see them, but all I've been getting recently is gross floors and the goddamn lava/volcano wall.

2. Big spoon/Little spoon?

As much as I love the idea of Gaara jetpackin’ it, I have to say Lee is the big spoon. I think Gaara sleeps better when he feels like his back is protected, and they probably sleep facing the door because, well, ninja ... but Gaara doesn’t like to be defenseless from either side (I also think this is why he carries that huge gourd on his back as a kid - it’s literally “watching his back”). As an aside, I think Lee can’t sleep easily on his left side because of his injuries, so he has to sleep on his right with his left arm around Gaara. (Which at first is kind of upsetting to Gaara because it puts the evidence of how badly he hurt Lee right in his eyeline.) Sorry this is a bit of a ramble ... I have highly specific sleep headcanons for them lol. 

17. Who says I love you first?

Lee. And he says it first by a long time. I think even if Gaara is ready for a romance, the concept of capital-L Love is way too heavy for him for a while. He probably struggles with knowing if what he feels for other people really even counts as love, because his childhood impression of love was all about pain, and hurting other people to make that pain go away for even an instant. He thought that loving himself meant doing whatever he wanted and lashing out at anyone who hurt him, and it takes him a long time to disentangle love from pain. He’s probably more comfortable with the notion that other people love him: his family and friends (his siblings probably say it to him long before Lee does, and Naruto feels like the kind of person to drop it casually in conversation), maybe even some of his village in a more abstract way. Plus there’s that whole moment with his dad during the war where he finds out he’s been loved his whole life. So he’s probably gotten over his hang ups over hearing the word by the time Lee says it. But he has to marinate on what it means for him for a long time before he feels comfortable saying it in return. When he finally does, I think it’s something very quiet, but very deliberate. He’s thought it over and analyzed it in every direction and has finally concluded that, yes, he does love Lee. So he waits until they’re alone and grabs his hand and tells him it in a voice like he’s ordering a death sentence. And Lee definitely cries and thinks it’s the most romantic thing ever. 

24. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times?

100% this one is Gaara, although some of the time he probably doesn’t realize that what he’s saying is totally inappropriate? He just kind of speaks his mind but he knows well enough to know that certain things are best said to Lee only, so they’re in the middle of the grocery store and Gaara leans over and whispers in Lee’s ear, “Your butt looks fantastic today. Let’s get home as quickly as possible.” and Lee squeezes a cantaloupe in half on accident. (Lee, meanwhile, can’t even bring himself to say the word “butt” most of the time. He says “bottom” or “behind” and blushes while he says it.)

There she is!  The big big fave!  Top row, second from the right!  Also bottom row far right, but the top row second right Xion is the particular Xion I’ve been hoping for ever since I started this game.  Not only is this the strongest Xion medal currently available, its ability is a reverse-medal copy of kh3 kairi, so she’s hard hitting, big-buffing, and full-healing, all for zero gauges.

Congratulations to the new president of Team Sad Children!  I look forward to wrecking every remaining story mission with you.

If you recall, this medal was one of the consolation prizes in that anti-aqua draw that was running when I first downloaded the game, the one that first tempted me to spend money on the game hoping to get that anti-aqua, but /really/ hoping to get this specific Xion.

Well, that shameful failure has now been fully vindicated by an equally shameful victory - equally shameful because the jewels that purchased this draw were once again purchased with actual human money by me - a certified idiot who now officially Needs Help.

I mean, the entire reason I was so dead set against spending money on this gatcha garbage in the first place was because I knew that if you cross that line once, it becomes so much easier to cross it again, and here I am once again finding myself on the wrong side of that line and, and this time, fancy jpeg of my favorite character in hand, I don’t even regret it.  Which is a pretty bad sign.

You’d think I’d learned my lesson.  I certainly though that.  But this week’s vip deal proved too tempting, coming with not just an extra bunch of jewels but also guaranteed medals for aqua - a big personal fave from the series, stitch - a big fave from disney movies, and goofy - which, I mean, who doesn’t love goofy?  So at least this time I was spending money for jpegs I knew I was getting, instead of the hope of getting a jpeg I wanted from a random slot machine draw?

Bah, enough performative self-flagellation, I can’t even pretend to be upset about this, not after drawing that Xion.

And not just *that* Xion, either!  Though I didn’t remember to screencap the Draw, I also got another much desired Xion from one of the single-medal-per-day freebies that’s going on this month!

Look at that smile!  She’s actually happy in this one!  An emotion only somewhat undercut by the fact that this medal play her super melancholy theme song while you look at it!  This Xion’s basically a slightly weaker version of the one from the top of the page, another freebie buff & heal that’ll go to good use.

These two join the several Xion medals I already have, all of which either started at or have gone through the onerous process of being leveled up to 7 stars, making them all at least usable, if not, you know, actually good or anything.

Original Xion!  The first xion medal I drew, from my very first random pack of medals!  Just think, without that positive jolt of seeing my favorite character early on, I might not have stuck with and or spent actual money on this “game” at all!

In all honestly, looking at the draw odds, my luck drawing medals of my favorite character in the first few weeks of playing this game has been kind of absurd.  She is not a super prominent character in the series.  She’s doesn’t have countless dozens of variations like sora, where you can and will get a bunch of him whether you want to or not.

I don’t have every Xion medal - there’s still a final boss xion, toon xion, popular toon xion with one (1) friendo, and even a super popular xion with an enviable two (2) whole friendos.  But of those, I think final boss xion is the only one that’s available in any current draws, and while I’d love to add it to the collection, it’s probably the one I was least hoping for, since she doesn’t really look like herself in that form.

So I don’t have every Xion, but I do finally have enough Xions to fulfill my weeks-long ambition - a full keyblade equipment set of Nothing But The Fave:

Even the spirit slot!  Popular Xion is, ironically, excluded from taking part in this particular group activity because “Nothing But The Fave” means no non-Xion friendos allowed.

If I didn’t have story missions left to liveblog, I’d probably declare victory right here and now, that screen shot representing the fullest ambition of everything I had ever hoped to accomplish in KHUx, and never touch this deplorable cash grab again.

My Top Romance Anime

I made a new set of list of my fave romance anime series since I guess i deleted my post accidentally w/c i always update ( i dont wanna talk about it i'm still in shock lol) so here it is i made it as simple as possible, no long description. Just my collection of anime that caught my heart while watching it. 

1. InuYasha

InuYasha follows Kagome Higurashi, a fifteen-year-old girl whose normal life ends when a demon drags her into a cursed well on the grounds of her family's Shinto shrine. Instead of hitting the bottom of the well, Kagome ends up 500 years in the past during Japan's violent Sengoku period with the demon's true target, a wish-granting jewel called the Shikon Jewel, reborn inside of her.

Inuyasha has always been my fave since childhood. I love the love and hate relationship they have. Inuyasha being stubborn but ever since he met Kagome he learned a lot of being a good person. I just hate their love triangle with kikyo nevertheless I love how it ends. It's really worth it after so many years of watching and waiting for it.

2. Kamisama Kiss

 Nanami immerses herself in her divine duties. But if she must keep things running smoothly, she will need the help of a certain hot-headed fox. In her fumbling attempt to seek out Tomoe, she lands in trouble and ends up sealing a contract with him. 

I’ve never been so satisfied in my life until after watching all the episodes of this anime, the twist is amazing . It ends well. My heart was happy.

3. Wolf Girl and Black Prince

 Erika Shinohara has taken to lying about her romantic exploits to earn the respect of her new friends. So when they ask for a picture of her "boyfriend," she hastily snaps a photo of a handsome stranger, whom her friends recognize as the popular and kind-hearted Kyouya Sata.

This is the first time i tried to watch anime series continously, i mean i never wanted to stand up while watching it haha it was good . I love how Kyouya manage to be so mean while everybody thinks he's a perfect prince, but i fell in love with this couple, theyre so perfect. 

4. Noragami

Just as things seem to be looking grim for the god, his fortune changes when a middle school girl, Hiyori Iki, supposedly saves Yato from a car accident, taking the hit for him. Remarkably, she survives, but the event has caused her soul to become loose and hence able to leave her body. Hiyori demands that Yato return her to normal, but upon learning that he needs a new partner to do so, reluctantly agrees to help him find one.

aahh yatori makes my heart crave for more haha i mean dont expect a lot of romance on this, it highlights friendship . Yato being so childish and Hiyori is such a good girl, i cry whenever she loses her memory. The story is fun and I hope for the next season they will give exposure for my fave couple.

5. Inu X Boku SS

But Ririchiyo's troubles have only just begun. As a requirement of staying in her new home, she must be accompanied by a Secret Service agent. Ririchiyo's new partner, Soushi Miketsukami, is handsome, quiet... but ridiculously clingy and creepily submissive.

I love the twist, i dont mind watching this all over again. Their personalities is quite interesting, the story is cute with mix of mystery.

6. My little Monster

Shizuku Mizutani is apathetic towards her classmates, only caring about her grades. However, her cold view of life begins to change when she meets Haru Yoshida, a violent troublemaker who stopped attending class after getting into a fight early in the school year. He is not much different from her, though—he too understands little about human nature and does not have any friends.

oposite attracts haha Haru is so adorable. And their relationship is quite bumpy and unsure. But i think their feelings for each other are genuine.

7. Hatsukoi Monster

After meeting her rescuer yet again and discovering that his name is Kanade Takahashi, she confesses her love to him. Kanade says he would like for them to be a couple, but that Kaho may not want to date him after she finds out his secret. To her shock, Kaho discovers the startling truth: Kanade is a fifth grader!

 Hatsukoi Monster follows Kaho's first steps into love with Kanade, her immature, yet kind, fifth grade boyfriend.

Age doesn't really matter lol. Its kinda weird as it may seems but who cares as long as you love each other then jump and take a risk. You can wait for the right time anyway haha. This anime is funny and i love how their friendship show. Accepting the situation and learn how to deal with differences is the lesson.

8. Guomin Laogong Dai Huijia

Lu Jin Nian and Qiao An Hao were not married by choice. On the first day of their wedding night, Qiao An Hao made three rules regarding their marriage. One, you are not allowed to touch me. Two, you are not allowed to announce publicly that I'm your wife. Three, you are not allowed to say that we are living together.

I've watch only the first two seasons. and i loved it. Its like a prequel to the story but i dont know why im satisfied with it haha, the truth is i dont have the strength to watch the season 3 and i dont even wanna know how it ends. haha while watching i was desperate and frustrated them to be together, i want a happy ending. But all I can see was barriers and situation wont let them be happy together. I hope they will make a movie based on this. All i know is it was too depressing but definitely has a good story line.

9. Red Data Girl

Izumiko begins by cutting her bangs, which shocks both her classmates and protectors. And that's only the start! Her guardian, Yukimasa Sagara, forces his son, Miyuki, to come to the mountain shrine and become Izumiko's lifelong servant and protector. Too bad Izumiko and Miyuki cannot stand each other. They have known each other since they were children, and Miyuki bullied her terribly.  Will Izumiko and Miyuki work past their differences? Is she actually a literal goddess? Find out in RDG: Red Data Girl!

This anime left me hanging and didn’t give me the ending i crave for, i hope they gonna make a next season. but i enjoyed it so much, i love the main characters and the vibe it gives me. It's a serious mystery and a little bit of romance but not much. anyway i love this, never regret watching it.

10.  Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka?

Willem takes refuge on the floating islands in the sky, living in fear of the Beasts below. One day, he is tasked with being a weapon storehouse caretaker. Thinking nothing of it, Willem accepts, but he soon realizes that these weapons are actually a group of young Leprechauns. Though they bear every resemblance to humans, they have no regard for their own lives, identifying themselves as mere weapons of war. Among them is Chtholly Nota Seniorious, who is more than willing to sacrifice herself if it means defeating the Beasts and ensuring peace. 

Not every story has good ending but im glad i watched this. The couple reminds me of kaname and sagara of full metal panic but in different way. Their personalities are so perfect for each other. I wasnt really into anime girls with different hair colors but Ctholly change my point of view, she's exactly one of my fave girls now, her being childish, jealous and innocent around Willem caught me. Funny moments will be present too and their feelings for each other blooms slowly every episodes that you just wanna watch more. I wish the last episode ended the way I wanted, anyway, I still dont get why Willem is involved into two different girls in the past, i guess it wasnt explained that much, i just hate the flashback how he remember the girl while he's with Ctholly,. Well all in all, i enjoy much I just hope they add new season, but i dont know how it will start haha. Im just happy to meet and add this perfect couple in my list.

Fanfiction.Net Vs. AO3: The Battle of The Century! (Crtique/Analysis Essay)

I know that the "FF.net Vs. AO3" thing has been done to death already. But as a writer for FF.net myself, I tried to venture into the realms of AO3.

Take note: I will mostly base a lot of these points on a generaly inexperienced person who is interested in fanfiction. Which means they have no idea how to navigate the sites, doesn't know tagging systems, and certainly doesn't know the ins and outs of the sites.

Points discussed in order: 1.) Site UI (User Interface). 2.) Filters Vs. Tagging System. 3.) Reading UI (Aimed mostly at how readers can interact with the fics). 4.) Website activity. 5.) Conclusion.

1.) Site UI (User Interface):

User Interface plays a major role as a person who will start to get into fanfiction. It also plays a role on how one will view the site on first impression.

Fanfiction.net:

Fanfiction.net has a pretty basic UI at first glance while AO3 is rather cluttered. But that's not to say both of them are bad. Both clearly have their own strengths in different areas.

Fanfiction.net's simple and easy-to-use UI encourages newcomers to go to their favorite fandoms and read whatever they want, all without having any sort of side-content distracting them. The straightforward main page that says "Crossovers or no?" proves to be very helpful for a lot of newcomers.

Pick if it's a crossover or not, enter your preferred fandom, then start reading. It's as simple as you can get.

Archive Of Our Own:

AO3; as stated earlier, has much more happening with its UI as opposed to its rival. There's a lot going on that may confuse the viewer into thinking "What the heck is happening!?" There's the News section, the Title, quick breakdown of the site, the tweets, and the large sign that encourages people to join their site.

While these aren't necessarily a bad thing. This can be a huge turn-off for people inexperienced with sites like these.

The strength that the main page of AO3 has is that it's much more informative than Fanfiction.net. Which can inform first-timers before going into the field.

Let us then talk about the UI for the fics page themselves.

Fanfiction.net:

Again, Fanfiction.net is straightforward. The systematical arrangement of the fics makes it easier for newcomers and experienced readers to find something of interest. The filter system is this smol button on the top, fics in the middle, and the next page button on the bottom.

The way stories are portrayed is with a short summary with all the information on the bottom, which is then cut-off by a large line leading into another story. It's no-nonsense, and people can easily adapt into it.

Not only that, Fanfiction.net also provides thumbnails for stories; making it easier for people who remember fics by their picture/thumbnail.

Archive Of Our Own:

AO3; once again, is cluttered. But at least this time, it's much more cleaner than the main page. The tagging system is on the right side of the page, then the fics are on the left going to the bottom.

Stories are kept in boxes, unlike Fanfiction.net's rectangles. There's the Title and author, the tags, summary, and general info of the story.

Instead of a thumbnail, we are then greeted by four boxes. These boxes then represent the Rating, the pairings, warnings, and the status (whether the story was completed or not).

Adapting with AO3's unplesant looking UI is definitely much harder. But once you got it down, you're in for a treat.

2.) Filters Vs. Tagging System:

Filters and Tags can help shorten down the amount of fanfiction presented to your face. This may provide the newcomer with a way to find a story of their liking much faster than they ever could.

Fanfiction.net:

Fanfiction.net's filters is useful, but painfully limited. It allows readers to sort in any order of most Faved, Followed, Reviewed, Publish Date and Upload Date. It offers the options that the boxes of AO3 have, added with the ability to state two genres and four characters.

Newcomers would be able to use this quickly, effectively, and without much thought.

However, these are not specific. If you're finding an average fic with little favs and forgot the title of, good luck trying to find it in the midst of all the average fics out there.

Archive Of Our Own:

The Tagging System of AO3 is a blessing, but also a curse at the same time. It offers the same as the one previously mentioned earlier, but with more specifics. You want a fic with this person, with this type of romance, do you want it to be hetero/gay/trans/futa? Or maybe even an Orgy with Villains and Heroes?

Whatever you want, they've got it all.

The very obvious downside is that it is difficult to use at first. Seeing as you can include AND exclude specfic tags. It's basically like oversimplified coding.

You can also search for certain tags, which is much easier than having to mark out the specific tags presented to you on the tagging system.

3.) Reading UI:

Like what I said at the beginning, the UI has an effect on the fanfics as well. I've seperated this from the first point due to this being in a slightly different ballpark.

Fanfiction.net:

Fanfiction.net has loads of ways to interact with the file. It can make the word font larger and smaller. Can also change the font and its background; though it is pretty limited. Can also change the composition of the fic into 3/4's and 1/2's. The spacing between the lines is also expandable.

Lastly, it includes the ability to use dark mode. Although, this is only restricted to the fics themselves.

People can also add the story/authors into their faves/follows, leave guest reviews, and even report the story if they feel like it.

These features can help create a much more familiar reading environment for the newcomers. Despite its restrictions, people can make great use of these to further enjoy their experience.

Archive Of Our Own:

Ironically, this is the ONLY time where AO3 is actually straight to the point. It doesn't have font chnages, you can't control the composition, and no dark mode. You have to read the file as it is.

AO3 does, however, have the option to display the entire story and all of it's chapters in one page. Which allows the reader to binge read the fic without having to switch to multiple pages.

AO3 also has the ability to download stories, just in case the reader would like to read even without internet access.

While the site also has the fave/follow mechanics like Fanfiction.net, they also introduce the hits (view count), bookmarks, and kudos (which is more of a like button if you don't want to add fics to your favorites).

4.) Website Activity:

This section will mostly focus on the community and the webisite managers themselves. I will discuss the content of the website, as well as how much managers communicate to their audiences.

After all, a healthy website is a good one.

Fanfiction.net:

Fanfiction.net's community is still pretty much up and kicking. Even with its age and outdated UI, there's still plenty of newcomers going to Fanfiction.net. It stood the test of time, and it always will.

In terms of site management, Fanfiction.net seems to be in the place where they've wanted it. They already have the necessary features of site, and would only fix major bugs in the site. Heck, the last tweet about the website was from a year ago; stating that people using firefox browsers are able to log in.

In terms of content, Fanfiction.net allows anything but fics about real people. There are also rules regarding making a fanfic about a certain author's work, but those people have personally talked to the company to not let their works be used.

Archive Of Our Own:

This community; much like Fanfiction.net, is also up and running. And while people are much more inclined to go to FF.net, plenty of people still go to AO3.

When it comes to the devs handling, these two sites are worlds apart. The OTW (people who created AO3), are active on twitter. The latest news related to AO3 are also presented in the main page, all of which are updated consistently. The news also has its own tags, which is good.

The content of AO3 may vary, a lot. They allow real people to be written on. But the thing is, there will be much more lower quality fics out there due to AO3's freedom in regards to their writers. Now that's not a bad thing in itself, but it's not that good either.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, both of these websites are amazing. But obviously has its flaws. Fanfiction.net has the flaw of being very simple and limited. AO3 has the flaw of being complex and cluttered.

But the moral lesson in all of this is that:

We read. We write. And...

We should all go back to work.

okay so now that you've seen all of them and hashtag love them all, what is your Official Ranking of the pierres?

OKAY, ANON I spent a longer time on this then I probably should have and I’m kind of embarrassed about how short it is after all the time I spent thinking about it.

The problem with loving all Pierres is that it’s hard to decide how and why to elevate a certain performance above another. There is SO MUCH going on in this show and with this character in particular that there are a million ways for an actor to shine or to give a particular interpretation that knocks my socks off. So, here is my scientific analysis* of all the Pierres I’ve seen, complete with conclusions.

HASHTAG I LOVE ALL PIERRES, THE OVERVIEW

My slide into loving Pierre was slow and steady, not as immediate as with some of the other characters. My first love (and still my fave) when walking out of the show the first time was Sonya. The second time, Natasha had my heart, and Dolokhov stole it right after through a talkback we saw with Nick Choksi. I liked Pierre at the start, I liked his arc, but it wasn’t until I fought with some rando on tumblr about how gr8 Pierre is that I began to realize how resonant parts of his arc were. Spending time listening to the words on the cast recording and reading the lyrics and thinking about the story started to lodge Pierre into my heart. I think I reblogged the “and this bright star / having traced its parabola” verse like, five times between December 2015 and November 2016 because it was so resonant.

What really sealed it once and for all was seeing the show for the first time on Broadway. Our first seats at the Imperial were right around Pierre’s salon, which gave me a super up-close view of the emotions that Pierre goes through over the course of the show. Obviously, when you’re watching this show you always feel present in the narrative (and I have a whole other post somewhere within me about how the set and theatre decor create this liminal safe space), but sitting that close to Pierre and watching him through portions of the show, I felt extra present in his arc. We were right there for “Pierre” and “The Duel” and “Dust and Ashes” and “Pierre and Natasha” and “The Great Comet of 1812,” watching him have these tiny revelations that build up into a larger revelation. It was lovely, and anyone who says “Ugh, I can’t believe you would sit on the stage, you miss so much” doesn’t realize how much more you gain from being close enough to touch the characters as they go through these events and deal with the personal ramifications.

So, I liked Pierre right off the bat, I grew ever fonder in the long stretch between ART and Broadway, and I really hit the level of just adoring him after seeing that first Broadway performance.

HASHTAG I LOVE ALL PIERRES, THE PLAYERS

Each of the guys I saw played Pierre in an almost entirely different way than the others, which is one of my favorite things about theatre. I’ve tried to explain to my parents when I was younger and seeing Rent like it was my job and to friends who haven’t had the privilege to experience theatre as a repeat customer how incredibly unique an experience it is. Every actor is going to take something different off the page and thus give something different to the audience. With a show like this, backed by hundreds of pages of background information and years and years of adaptations and such a diverse body of material, that’s especially true. 

eta: I should add, too, that I’ve never discussed acting choices with these gentlemen. This is entirely based on my interpretations of what I saw them doing on stage.

GROBAN: Groban’s Pierre is actively angry. He’s mad at himself for wasting his life and mad at the world for disappointing him. His “Pierre” is almost aggressive in places. And his suicidality in “The Duel” is more of the “FUCK THIS I AM DONE” variety. You get the impression that he wants to shake the world by the shoulders and say, “This is it? This is what we get? This is what’s worth all the suffering and garbage? Fuck you.” His revelation in “Dust and Ashes” is similarly aggressive. He hits this place where he realizes he can’t die yet because there are things in life that he’s missing, things that he’s keeping himself from having and he has to find them and he’s lamenting his own worthlessness while also resolving to move forward, goddammit, if only to spite himself and the world. This attitude reaches its peak in “Pierre and Anatole,” where you really think the dude is gonna beat the shit out of Anatole, and then we slowly get to watch that aggression leave him as that song winds down and he realizes what he’s done and what he’s doing. It continues that was through “Pierre and Andrey” as he sees Andrey’s anger at Natasha, and he perhaps, begins to see how miserable that angry lifestyle as left Andrey, all the while continuing to struggle with the concept of love he began to explore in “Dust and Ashes.” Meeting Natasha at the end opens him to this world of tenderness and innocence and love that he had thought was beyond him. He spends “The Great Comet of 1812” in awe of that revelation.

MALLOY: Dave’s Pierre is more…sad. His “Pierre” is more despair and longing. He’s TIRED. He can’t DO IT anymore, the world is SO MUCH and he’s just DONE. He’s awkward and hunched and he’s given up. I think Dave’s Pierre is maybe the Pierre that I relate to most because he’s depressed in a way that I get depressed, that sort of whole-body listlessness. His arc from “The Duel” to “Dust and Ashes” is straight up giving up in the former and then falling into his desperation in the latter. He’s asking these questions and making these observations about himself because he doesn’t know the answers and he desperately wants to. He starts act two with this new zeal for finding these answers and he just can’t sustain it, even as he’s trying to push through and be this other person. His “what I wouldn’t give to be like him” in “Preparations” reads as a reflection of this new take on life that he was trying to push himself into. He wants to be the person who just takes his lot in life and is able to wring the best out of it, but he’s not. He’s befuddled as the nonsense with Natasha and Anatole plays out and that slides into anger at Anatole for both throwing this opportunity and not even realizing how badly he’s fucked up. The last three songs start with him being depressed and caught up in the middle of this triangle and really despairing that if no one else can can find fulfillment in life–Anatole and Andrey and Natasha–then how can he expect to find it himself, and then having that moment with Natasha, moved by her kindness, struggling to understand her the same way he struggled to understand Andrey, and being so moved his entire perspective changes. He’s also the awkwardest Pierre by far and I love him for that.

SCOTT: Scott’s Pierre is somewhere between Malloy and Groban. He’s more frustrated than angry, but he also has qualities of having given up the way Dave has. He’s looking for answers the same way that Dave is, but it’s less frantic desperation and more exasperated that he’s spent years looking for answers and he’s still back at square one and everyone is enjoying life, but he can’t seem to figure out how to do it. His Act 2 brings this all crashing down as he realizes that all these people who he thinks do have a good life with their act together are just as fucked up as he is, specifically Andrey and Natasha, but also to a lesser degree, Anatole. “Pierre and Natasha” was very fragile and probably the most like Oak’s. He doesn’t quite have Groban or Oak’s charisma and he doesn’t have Dave’s self-deprecation, but he makes up for that in other ways. He nails those two spoken lines with a sort of quiet forthrightness that none of the other Pierres hit in quite the same way, and as he was the first Pierre I saw, he really set the standard and I feel like I compare all the other readings to this one. 

OAK: Oak’s Pierre is sad. He’s on his way to that Malloy-esque despair but hasn’t hit rock bottom yet. Malloy’s sadness is so complete that it’s more like the numbness of depression, whereas Oak’s Pierre is still feeling things sharply and trying to stop himself before he gets that bad, but unsure how to do so. It added a sort of poignancy to “Dust and Ashes” in the opposite way of Malloy’s–Malloy’s “Dust and Ashes” has that poignancy because his Pierre has hit rock bottom and is seeing the light for the first time and just awed by it. Oak’s Pierre is saved from hitting rock bottom by that moment in “Dust and Ashes.” His anger at Anatole is INTENSE, as is his sadness at seeing Andrey throw Natasha aside. His “Pierre and Natasha” has him in over his head and unsure how to proceed. He wasn’t prepared to play this role in people’s lives, especially when he doesn’t even have his own shit together. He’s mired in confusion, so much so that it’s not until the “Pierre grew confused” that it clicks for him that that’s what’s going on. He really wants to connect with Natasha and is honestly upset that he can’t seem to do it. In “The Great Comet of 1812,” he has this slow revelation of what it means to be a person that’s a perfect reflection of that moment in “Dust and Ashes” that he decides to live, so soft and deep in counterpoint to the frenzy of before. 

HASHTAG I LOVE ALL PIERRES, ET CETERA

Malloy wins “No, I am enjoying myself at home this evening” for comic perfection, though Oak is only seconds behind him for the AMAZING awkward grin and thumbs up he gives the audience. 

Oak wins the start of “The Duel” because he imbues his performance with an almost goofy quality that works so well for Pierre just letting himself be free for one moment before it gets spoiled.

Malloy wins “Nothing matters–or everything matters, it all the same.” I’m still thinking about his delivery of this line and how it fits in with his Pierre so well.

Scott wins “Nothing but the candle in the mirror”–Scott’s got a lovely, melodic voice–less intense than Groban’s and less gruff than Dave’s and fuller than Oak’s.

Groban wins the toast in “The Abduction.”

Malloy wins the “Whaaaaaat"s by FAR.

Oak wins “Pierre and Anatole.”

HASHTAG I LOVE ALL PIERRES, THOSE LINES

Guys, I don’t know. All I can tell you is that Groban is out–I was kind of put off by his delivery the first time I saw him but it grew on me over time, listening to the cast recording and boots.

Scott’s set the standard for how I hear it in my head and how I interpret the lines, but Malloy and Oak were both so lovely that I burst into tears listening to them.

This might be a three-way tie.

Having seen the four Pierres from this incarnation of the show, I can tell you definitively that……..I love all Pierres and can’t choose a favorite.

Top 5 'Supernatural' episodes that might surprise SPNFamily

Socially, we’re conditioned to ask the basics when we meet people. You know, the small talk questions: Where are you from? What do you do? How many siblings do you have? Eventually, we progress into the hard-hitting ‘getting to know yous’ of relationships, even if it’s reading someone’s words. Favorite song? Favorite book? Favorite movie? The thing is, people sometimes lie. Whether they mean to or not. No one’s favorite book is Anna Karenina; it’s just not. You can respect the book, but it’s not your favorite; you don’t revisit it regularly, it’s not a comforting blanket you burrito yourself inside. For example, my favorite song, book, and movie, respectively, are: “Just What I Needed” by The Cars, “Death Comes as the End” by Agatha Christie, and “A Few Good Men.” Have I heard better songs? Sure, as one of my best friend’s husband once said: “‘Just What I Needed’ isn’t even Ric Ocasek’s favorite song.” Have I read better books? Absolutely. Are there better movies? No. And I will fight you. My point is: sometimes I think that society, or in this case fandom culture, makes us feel as though we should choose things that we may like a lot but also simultaneously live up to some arbitrary social standard or norm, as our favorite. In Supernatural fandom I often see the same few episodes held up as universal fan favorites; episodes like “Yellow Fever,” “Changing Channels,” “The French Mistake,” “Swan Song,” and “Baby.” Maybe these episodes are your faves, but they aren’t mine; not even close. I’m not even talking about the episodes I think are the all-around best or the most quintessential (we’ll get into that in another article). I mean these don’t even make my top ten, they aren’t my go-to episodes, the ones I’ve watched the most, the ones I’ll watch out of sequence just because I want to relive the entire thing on a random Tuesday afternoon. In fact, one of those example episodes is in my bottom ten. So, which out of over 265 episodes, are my favorites? I’ll tell you not because I’m telling you that I think these are the best episodes and that you should agree (again, that arrogance will come in another article), but because I think this is a fun introduction. A way for you all to get to know me. Sin City - I’ll admit that “Sin City” isn’t the best episode ever penned, the quips are heavy-handed, and the plot is simplistic. Honestly, it’s kinda middle of the road, but that’s what makes it re-watchable without the emotional hangover of “Mystery Spot” or “Fresh Blood” (Besides, we’ll get into those episodes in a later article. What “Sin City” does have is a great supporting cast: we get to see Katie Cassidy finally start to her get bearings playing Ruby 1.0, we get a great scene at the beginning where Sam and Dean are such bratty, yet lovable surrogate children to Bobby, we meet and mourn Richie, the perv with a heart of gold, (I mean, he’s basically Dean (Jensen Ackles) without the suave or skill), and we cozy up in a basement with Casey the bartender demon who is insightful, witty, and deadly, but her quid pro quo with Dean gives us a good dose of classic cocky Dean Winchester who is also a scared little boy underneath it all. Bonus, we also get the rare unicorn that is goofy, chagrinned Sammy as he backs his way out of Trotter’s office. And anyway, if you don’t catch yourself saying “I make a mean hurricane” every time you look at the Red Lobster drink menu you are living your life wrong. Ask Jeeves - now, I’m going to stop you before you tell me that Fan Fiction is the best episode of season 10, because it’s really, REALLY not. It’s arguably in the bottom three of the season. “Ask Jeeves,” however, was a perfect play on the movie that inspired it (which is one of the best movies of all time, again, I will fight you) and was another episode overflowing with a great supporting cast with fantastic comedic timing. For an episode that was primarily a loose tie-in to the release of the Supernatural Clue game it could have gone so wrong, but instead, it went so very right. The soundtrack is stellar, the jokes and pop culture references are on point without being concussion-inducing anvils, and the mystery itself is background to the story without being disappointing. “Ask Jeeves” is a comedic romp with a nice little hit of Winchester family feelings; it’s a bread and butter Supernatural episode. Besides, Dash hunts pheasants. He. Hunts. Pheasants. Caged Heat - This is an ensemble style episode done right. We get one of the best interactions between Sam/Dean and a demon to ever grace the show (props to character actor Conrad Coates for delivering, “I know you're speaking, I see your lips moving, but I can't understand what you're saying 'cause I don't speak little bitch,” because that line is a mouthful) and from that we slide seamlessly into Meg getting the drop on the boys and Sam turning it on her in the blink of an eye because he now understands her calculating nature so well. Speaking of calculating, Sam using the the plot of Raiders of the Lost Ark to lure Castiel to him is a perfect segue into their mutually soulless tête-à-tête (full disclosure, season 6 Castiel is my favorite version of Castiel). We also get Meg taking on a pack of hellhounds, Dean threatening Samuel, Sam (Jared Padalecki) biting into his wrist to draw a Devil’s Trap with his own blood (that bloody grin is everything), Dean rescuing Meg from demon Christian. Then we get the brothers and Meg working in tandem against Crowley in perfect harmony, the fake-out Crowley death that we only later find out was all a set up between Crowley and Castiel (Misha Collins) who were working together all along. It’s an episode that works on your first watch, yet is even more brilliant in retrospect. Night Shifter - Okay, I’ll be up front, season 2 is not only my favorite season of Supernatural but one of my favorite seasons of television. Period. Even its weakest episode is still so damn good, but if I have to choose one to go on a list that is based on simple re-watchability, I have to hand it to this one. Meet conspiracy theorist Ronald Resnik; he’s that character that every procedural or genre show needs at least once a season; the one who is wholly unqualified, but still tries to be the hero. Not for the glory, but because lives are at stake and the right thing has to be done. We laugh at Ron and his mandroid ideas; Dean praises him, Sam shuts him down, both do it because he’s so close yet, oh, so far from the truth. And when Ronald gets shot (which while tragic, is gorgeously directed and edited) your heart breaks for both Dean and Ronald. You also get exactly that Sam wanted to keep him deep in the dark because the hunter life is nothing but pain and death. Speaking of impactful characters, we also meet Agent Henriksen in this episode, a character that is a perfect example of an outside POV of the Winchesters. His description of them being “dangerous, smart, and expertly trained” is so important because he doesn’t know what they really do, yet he understands who they are on a fundamental level, and while he wants to lock them up, he fully respects them as adversaries. This episode is cinematic; it literally feels like a complete movie. It’s beautifully shot, every actor brought their A-game (Dean’s little forehead punch when he hangs up with Henriksen is one of those tiny, silent details that makes a moment a moment). We get great dialogue (“I like him, he says okeydokey,” “its robot skin is so lifelike;’ Sam’s long-suffering “we’re not working for the mandroid!;’ Henriksen’s breakdown of the Winchester family that could have been clunky exposition but was instead just a smooth reminder of who they are with bonus (“yeah, I know about Sam, the Bonnie to your Clyde”). But if all that wasn’t enough, there’s also arguably the most iconic Supernatural moment and one of the top three musical cues of the show: Sam and Dean in stolen SWAT gear sneaking to the Impala while “Renegade” plays. I’ve seen this episode more times than I’m willing to admit, and I get chills at that moment every single time. Shadow - Yeah, I know, this is out of left field, but hear me out, because I think this episode is woefully underrated. First of all, we get a tiny peek into the Weechesters by way of Dean reminding Sam of his high school drama years. Not only did Dean remember Sam was in “Our Town,” he clearly went to the play to support his baby brother. We also get smart Sam AND Dean in this episode. Dean by way of visualizing the Daeva pattern in the victim’s blood and Sam using the flare against the Daeva shadow demons. Speaking of the brothers being brothers, there’s a lot to take in during this episode. Starting with them running into Meg and Dean being hurt by Sam telling her about their fight, but as soon as Sam reassures him that he’s with Dean by choice, not force, Dean slips right into teasing, wingman big bro mode. Add to that the subtle nod of trust we can infer by way of Sam taking Baby for his stakeout while Dean researches. This is an episode that on the surface is a basic hunt that ties into the now growing cohesive season throughline, but it’s actually all about family. There’s the brothers’ dynamic and the way their bond has solidified since “Scarecrow”, however, we also get to see Dean’s vulnerability when Sam naively thinks that this could be it, the end of it all, the catalyst back to “normal”, whereas Dean just wants his family together, hell or high water. There’s also the fact that no matter how you as a viewer personally feel about John Winchester, the demons know that he’s never far behind his boys; he’s always watching, always protecting them in his own way. And, of course, we get to see a full Winchester reunion complete with damp eyes, manly hugs and choked up voices. John Winchester saying, “hey boys”, the brothers saying “yes, sir” at the same time (this episode has two instances of Winsync Winspeak); John’s unspoken apologies; Dean’s face while Sam and John hug; Sam being the one who wants them all together, and Dean being the one to understand that they can’t stay with John. John mirroring Sam’s earlier words to Dean about letting go. All of this will always make me emotional. This episode also has one of my favorite horror tropes, one that Supernatural has unfortunately pulled away from in recent years: it’s creepier when you don’t see what’s after you, like the great Steven Spielberg once said about “Jaws,” what’s scariest is the “fear of the unknown.” The mechanical shark forced Spielberg’s hand, and a crazy tight budget forced Eric Kripke’s, but it worked; the shark is terrifying because you don’t see it until the end, it’s the anticipation. It’s the same with the Daeva being shadow demons and later in seasons 2 and 3 with the hellhounds. Unfortunately, in recent seasons we’ve now seen hellhounds, and, well, they were scarier when all we had were torsos shredded by invisible claws and our imaginations. And as much as this episode was packed to the brim with Winchester family fat to chew on, they aren’t the only family. We find out that Meg is doing what she does for family as well. The overarching theme of Supernatural takes form in this episode; human, demon, ghost, or ghoul, it’s always about family in some way. A/N: This is a weird but also wonderful request. I suck at titles so I might change this in the near future. As per usual I got carried away and it got hella long so sorry for that. I am biased in the types of vampires I like, (Darren Shan vampires are my personal fave so I based the reader's background story off of it) but I tried to keep the mannerisms and habits as general as I could. 

You look down at your phone to read the text message your boyfriend has just sent you.

Peter ❤️: I'll be home soon! Meet you at my place in a few :)

You smile to yourself as you reply, telling him you'll be there soon. Since Peter seems to always be getting home late these days you've always been hanging out at night, which usually isn't a problem since you're used to sleeping during the day. You sleep during the day because you don't need to go to school, and besides being a child of the night is much more fun. You're not like all the other kids your age, you are home-schooled by your mentor, Leopold. But you just call him Leo.

Leo is not your father, and you are not his daughter; you are his apprentice. He might as well been though, considering you've known him since you were a baby when he found you abandoned. You didn't know the details as to whether your family left you there or if you were an orphan, but it didn't matter that much because you had your own family now. People thought it was weird that you called your 'dad' by his first name, but you thought it was weird that people actually bought the story of him being your biological father; the two of you didn't even bear the slightest resemblance other than the scars you shared on your fingertips.

So to recap, you are home-schooled by your father, whom you call by his first name, who isn't actually your father, and you sleep during the day. All these things considered, you're a pretty strange kid. That, and you're a vampire.

Leo found you when you were a baby, and raised you as his own. Growing up in a terrible family, and having lived in an orphanage himself, Leo wouldn't dare let the same happen to you. Although his method of parenting was rather 'tough love' you knew he cared for you. As if being raised by a vampire wasn't out of the ordinary enough, you were trained as one too, and the whole clan became your family. You learned the ways of the vampire as well as how to fight the not-so-well-meaning ones. For now, you were still an apprentice, so not a full vampire just yet. Unfortunately this meant you weren't as fast or strong, but it had its perks since you could go longer than two hours out in the sun without burning to a crisp. This also meant you still aged, although not as fast as the full human, and you could still live off of regular human food for the most part. Although you still had to feed off human blood, it wasn't as often as the regular vampire and you were trained to do it without killing someone. However, to do that, you had to make sure you fed regularly as to not lose self-control and go on a frenzy.

Usually Leo would keep a stash in the freezer, but it had run out so he left a few days ago on 'business' as he called it and would replenish it when he returned. You had grown accustomed to this routine, but it's a little hard to find someone who would voluntarily allow someone else to drink their blood. Not having full vampire abilities, you couldn't hypnotize or knock people out with your breath like when Leo was present, and this time there was no one else from the clan to help you out while he was gone. Luckily you had pretty good at self-control since you were turned about two years ago, not long before you moved to Queens, which is how you met Peter.

Obviously you didn't meet Peter at school since you don't go to school. You met Peter Parker in a dark alley in the middle of the night. Weirder than calling your dad by his first name right? What a place to meet someone. To add to the weirdness, you had just been feeding and had blood dripping from your mouth when you encountered Peter. To tell the truth, you had approached him in the alley to feed on him since he was alone. That was the last time Leo had been gone for a while and the only way you could get human blood was to try to find someone alone, knock them out, and drink a little bit of their blood so they would never know what happened. You have no idea how this boy had such heightened senses seeing as he noticed you approaching him.

You were a goner the second your Y/E/C eyes locked with his warm brown orbs. You weren't used to meeting kids your age- or encountering anyone for that matter. All your friends and family consisted of the clan or their  human allies who happened to all be adults. You were so busy taking in all his features that you didn't notice what he was shoving into his bag. The boy snapped you out of your trance when he spoke.

"Are you okay?" he asked, taking a cautious step towards you which caused you to flinch slightly. "I-It's just that your lip-"You brought a hand up to your lip and saw blood on your fingers.

Perfect.

"Oh, uh, y-yeah, I-I just," you stuttered, trying to find a reason as to why you had blood dripping from your mouth. You wiped your mouth with the back of your hand, using the coverage to slice your bottom lip with your sharp teeth to make it look like you were the one bleeding. "My lip got cut."

"Yeah, I can see that," he laughed as he slung his backpack over his shoulder. "Did you get into a fight or something?"

"Yeah," you chuckled nervously, thinking about the man you knocked out moments ago. "Something like that."

"I'm Peter by the way, Peter Parker." He held out his hand for you to shake with a smile that melted your heart. "Do you have a name?"

"Uh, yeah, I'm Y/N," you say, smiling back and shaking his hand. You didn't want to say your last name, since like an idiot, you had momentarily forgotten whatever new fake last name you had adopted since moving here last week.

"I've never seen you around here, Y/N," Peter started. "What are you doing out so late?"

"I just moved here, I was just on my way home," you answered.

"Oh cool, which school are you starting at in fall?"

"I'm home-schooled," you said sheepishly.

"Well, Y/N, that split lip looks pretty bad." You tasted your own bitter blood leaking into your mouth and you know you might have bit too deep in a moment of panic. "Let me walk you home."

"No, it's fine-"

"Really, it's okay," he insisted. "It gets pretty dangerous around here this late."

"Okay," you gave in and started leading the way.

"So, do you visit in dark alleys late at night often?"

"Only when I see weird guys hanging out there."

"Touché."

Ever since then, you and Peter had started hanging out and he introduced you to his friends. You got along really well with all of them, particularly Michelle who, like you, was used to and rather enjoyed the solitude. Since you turned at 18 two years ago, you looked slightly older than the rest of them back then, but now everyone had caught up while you would be stuck at eighteen-years-old for a while.

You and Peter kept getting close until everyone just assumed you were dating when he brought you as his date to the homecoming dance last year. Not that either of you minded, since you had both developed a crush on each other, but it wasn't until some douche bag named Flash Thompson said couldn't believe that Peter Parker could ever land a girl as pretty as you, that Peter gushed out his feelings for you and asked you to be his girlfriend. You said yes of course.

So now here you are, on your way to your boyfriend's apartment, hoping you'll come across an unsuspecting stranger to feed off of before you go into a crazed feeding frenzy. Your skin that has become a few shades paler, as well as the dark rings under your eyes make you look like you're sick. Peter had been preoccupied lately with his exams, internship, and university applications and whatnot, so you only got to see him late at night. You had been so busy trying to maximize the amount of time you had with Peter, that you haven't had any blood because the time at which you would usually feed, was spent with your boyfriend.

For once, everything is totally dead- pun not intended. You keep your eyes peeled for individuals roaming the streets and search every alley you pass by with no avail, and you certainly were not going to knock out your boyfriend. Well, he literally wouldn't know what hit him- but that was not an option that would be further considered.

You are a block away from Peter's apartment when you hear movement in the alley you're passing by. You aren't scared; you're probably way stronger and could out run whoever was there, so you investigate. Despite the dim lighting, your great eye-sight allows you to see the outline of a figure clad in a signature red and blue suit whom you know to be the world famous Avenger, Spider-Man. Even though you're approaching him as quietly as you can, he's in the process of tugging his mask off when he senses another presence. He must really have spidey senses.

"Who's there?" he asks alarmed, spinning to face you with his mask only lifted to his nose. The first thing you notice is how his face is not in great shape; he has some dried blood caked around his nose and a split lip that's still raw. Your focus stops on the blood dripping from his lip and all of a sudden, the tiniest amount of blood threatens to send you into sensory overload. It's all you see, smell, and taste, which is saying a lot considering you're next to a row of dumpsters in Queens. "I-I know you're there," he asserts, struggling to get his mask back on right so he can see through the eyes. Something about him is oddly familiar which is off-putting to you, considering you don't actually know that many people who aren't vampires. You're snapped out of your trance when he finally manages to get his mask back on and calls your name. "Y/N?"

Wait. That voice. That's the voice in which you would always love hearing your name being pronounced no matter how many times you hear it. You step out of the shadows."Peter?"

"Y/N!" he exclaims, practically squeaking. He clears his throat and lowers his pitch. "I-I mean who's this Peter- I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man-"

"Peter, I know it's you," you deadpan, crossing your arms and shifting your weight to one hip. "You're Spider-Man?"

He pulls his mask off, his brown curls flopping back. "Uh, yeah," he says sheepishly, looking at the ground and then back up to you. You're not angry with him. In fact you don't think you could ever really be angry with him since you can understand why he hasn't told you, even though you wish he had. Besides, it wouldn't be fair of you since you were hiding a pretty big part of your life from him.

If this were under normal circumstances, you would be more shocked. Then again, nothing about your life is normal except Peter, which should be referred to in the past tense now. Normal is officially a concept that is foreign to you. So instead of the shock you would normally experience, you are too distracted by the blood on his face that is taking over your senses again. He's talking to you, but he just sounds like a blur as your eyes are drawn to a bubble of blood on his lip that looks like it'll drop any second.

He notices your dazed state and takes a few steps towards you. Your focus shifts from his lip to the vein in his neck through which you know a lot of blood is flowing. The sound of the blood pumping through his body drowns his words out like a pounding in your ears. He practically has to shout your name to get your attention.

"Y/N!"

"Sorry, what?" You blink a few times as your eyes adjust to how close Peter's face is to yours. Your pupils were so dilated that your irises were practically non-existent.

"Y/N, are you okay?" He asks, eyebrows furrowed in concern. "I know it's a lot to take in but-"

"No, no, Peter that's all right," you reassure him whilst taking a step back. "I swear I'm not angry about that- I-I just forgot Leo asked me to run an errand for him while he's gone."

"Let me accompany you," he smiles as he places a hand on your shoulder.

"Really, Peter, I need to go alone." You give him a chaste kiss on his cheek which you immediately regret because it takes everything for you to pull back. You bolt before Peter has the chance to object and call out to him over your shoulder, "I'll meet you back at your place."

After managing to find a couple of unsuspecting strangers, and pacing yourself which required a lot of self-control, you made your way over to Peter's apartment. You made sure to enter quietly through the fire escape Peter had left unlocked for you so you didn't wake up Aunt May. You enter Peter's room, glancing at the clock to see that it took you less than half an hour, so you're pretty impressed with yourself.

Peter lays half-asleep and fiddling with what you assume to be a web shooter on his bed in a pair of flannel pyjama pants and a Midtown High T-shirt. His shirt has ridden up a bit to reveal a sliver of his midriff where the skin is a fading brown with a faded scar. He always told you he got into a fight or fell, but now you know what all his bruises and cuts are really from. Not that you didn't have quite a few scars of your own from training, but you also told him made up stories of the origins of yours.

He smiles as you cuddle up next to him, placing a soft kiss to your temple. He sets the gadget aside and wraps his arms around you, sinking you both into his small but comfortable mattress. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier, it's just that-" he stops himself, and begins running his hand through your hair. "I care about you so much, I would never forgive myself if anything happened to you."

You smile to yourself at how lucky you got to find the world's most compassionate boy in a dark alley of all places. You tilt your head up to meet his warm eyes before pressing your lips to his in a sweet kiss. "Peter, you don't need to worry about me, I can handle myself better than you think."

"Y/N, there are some really dangerous people out there. I'm always going to worry about you."

"Trust me, I know," you giggle. If only he knew. "Sorry I was acting so weird earlier."

"Yeah, what was that about?"

"There's a lot we need to talk about..." You think about telling him everything. If anyone could understand what it was like to have to constantly be cautious and live a totally different life separate from the rest of society, it would be him. He just seems so tired and stressed with everything going on, including you finding out that he's Spider-Man. You decide that perhaps it's better to save it for another day. "But for now let's just sleep."

I share my first name with my mother, but I go by my middle name. Curiously enough, it was the name of a doll my mother had when she was a child (Coppelia). Last night, out of frustration. I'm the producer in an improv show and we had a very difficult session because of one of my biz partners. I arrived home late and gave it a good cry to clean myself out. 3: Do you like your handwriting?
