I wanted to record the books I read, but why did I have to start with such a massive one? I started this one for spooky October, but it took until now to finish it. I'm a fast reader, but have been finding it hard to read for long periods of time. I'm trying to change that.

This one dragged a lot at the end with so many chronicled hauntings, but, wow, was it comprehensive. Some familiar and famous, most I'd never heard before. Very happy to have finally finished this.

Four out of five stars. And a big fat WOW.

Jeremy Bentham's (no, not that one) bizarre excoriation of The Gunfighters as being the worst Doctor Who story in Doctor Who: A Celebration is one of the more baffling pieces of received fan wisdom that was just kinda unquestioned for decades.

I'm glad that, forty years on, pretty much nobody credits his opinion, and the story is recognised as the classic it always was.

obsessed with the gunfighters the whole plot revolves around the doctor needing to go to the dentist and ep 2 ends w/ steven being held at gun point by cowboys to sing the same song over and over and him and dodo r doing stupid little american accents 60s who is so silly
