It can be hard to find the motivation to do anything at all in shit weather, but writing is made 1000x better with hot tea, blankies and a little guy snoring beside me.

PhD proposal officially due in less than a month, now entering the incredibly stressed, antisocial, hibernation phase!!!

Currently, I am at a cafe and transcribing an audio interview that is almost three hours long. I love doing research and don't mind doing the grunt work, but I do not fancy transcribing because I recoil at listening to my own voice. I'm like, goodness, why do I sound like a ten-year-old.

Anyway, I hope you guys are doing alright over there and are doing much better than I am. 🏵️

Hey everyone! I went to see Cosmo Sheldrake last night and it was a religious experience. Cosmo is an incredible live performer as well as a genuinely funny and likeable human being. He was smiling the whole time and you could tell me was having so much fun. He had so much appreciation for the people working with him too!! It was lovely to see.

Today I finally gave the presentation I've been working on for about a week and a half now. I was genuinely excited about presenting this paper, and although I don't think I did as well as I thought I would everyone on my team was telling me they really liked it. They told me I was being cynical by not accepting their compliments, but honestly I don't know what to think. Anyway, I'm going to spend most of today working on preparations for my upgrade report and finishing an analysis that I was asked to do last week. I'm a little defeated after the presentation, but hopefully I can get back on track and have a productive day.

Remember to be gentle and patient with yourself! There are better days ahead.

Very busy week because I’m moving to a new city, but coding must go on!

After countless containers and virtual machines, I finally made a repository for my dotfiles, including Neovim, Tmux, Lazygit, etc. It’s so much simpler to grab my configurations from clone a repo, instead, I was used to send via FTP or something like that.

This week, I’ve been working on a short and simple video about using Kafka with the customizer terminal and Tmux. It’s incredibly easy to manage sessions by splitting them, which we use a lot because Zookeeper server and Kafka brokers still in single window each (If is local machine).

In the picture, I’m using the Kitty terminal with Tmux and 3 open windows: Neofetch, a CLI Pomodoro timer, and Lazygit.

I’m struggling with motivation and mental health leading up to my thesis submission so I thought I’d make a countdown of sorts! Every day I’m going to post my productivity and something that made me smile to help keep me going! My submission date is August 31st so it works pretty well with the 100 days of productivity challenge too, feel free to join :)

Day 19/20 of #productivejune

Today i had a meeting on the revision for our paper which i already had prepared an excel for.

After that my 94 students wrote their 1 hour exam on corporate governance (which i think i made pretty forward and easy to answer questions for). The gymhall we wrote in always gives me flashbacks to abitur (a levels in germany).

Afterwards i started grading right away, as i will be on vacation the second week of july. I would prefer to be finished till then... but they are all handwritten with open questions. It will take some time

• I had a very productive day of studying today…and it might be my last for the next two (hopefully two) weeks. This is sad, as I was really enjoying my work. But I’m experiencing intense, intense eyestrain while studying, so taking a break seems appropriate while I (hopefully) sort things out.

• (Freaking out a little)

• (This is a Challenge)

• (I want to read)

• But let’s talk about what I *have* been reading, and what my plan for the next two weeks is. I finished the first chapter of The Environmental Unconscious today! Amazing. I def want to read more.

• Did a good amount of Latin work today + exercises.

• Edited my paper!

• For the next two weeks, I’ll be mostly trying to get my life together. I’ll be cleaning, reading audiobooks, and trying (emphasis on trying) to get off of my phone. Fuck, I don’t want to do this. But I’ll try to make it ~whimsical~.

• Some good things from today:

-I went to the library. I intended to return my Chappell Roan CD, but decided to keep it for a bit longer.

-I took a walk around my home specifically to notice the colors within it

-I took a shower with some music playing
