A tsunami of devastation sweeps through the garden. The whining growl of chainsaws lay to rest several giant, aged ash trees wasted by disease. They do not go quietly. The trees look deceptively vibrant with lusciously rich green leaves that wave in greeting as I look out from my eerie each morning. But they’re ‘not waving but drowning’! As they fall, they crack & explode with loud bangs before landing heavily on the wet lawn. Small grey patches on curling leaves belie a much deeper & more deadly problem. They are rotting from the inside; flawed, vulnerable & very fragile. We watch a single leaf cluster from a tree yet to be felled, slowly & gracefully dance its last dance, falling like a tear back to the earth. It poignantly illustrates our sadness but also our hope. Seasons follow cycles of birth, death & rebirth. Clearing the old allows the dawn to bring fresh energy & new opportunities. It’s a paradox of emotions both tragic & exhilarating. The cats play on the felled beasts. It seems to be no coincidence that the trauma of losing so many trees pounds hard on the heels of our recent big changes. This time of transformation has been more than cutting out the dead wood but eliminating the growth weakened by doubt & uncertainty. Spaces left behind sway in the breeze like ghosts of what was. We can now begin to see other trees. Forced to become unbalanced & distorted, they had to crawl out from under the shadow of their neighbouring giants. As we become accustomed to the new views we can see how the more unique specimen trees can expand into the void enabling them to fulfill their true potential. As with the business, what was tangential growth can be reshaped, & encouraged to take pride of place as we evolve our ideas & expand our creativity. The spaciousness & the light it creates gives breath to old ideas waiting.      "Wʜᴀᴛ ᴀ bleak perspective." Although there is a smile in his voice (when isn't there), always that faint amusement upon how other people interacted with the world. He knows Gertrude is annoyed by it, and that especially makes it even more prominent. After all, one has to take joys from the world wherever possible. He hums, tilts his head slightly, as if in serious consideration of her words. Amusing her, for now. "If that was the case, then nothing we would ever do had any impact at all. It's the whole idea with fate, isn't it? No matter what you do, the outcome is already predetermined. A toy would have even less free will than that, can't even pick it's own path. Are you saying you're feeling trapped, Gertrude? Controlled, maybe?"

     She wouldn't be entirely wrong, although she avoids it more than her predecessors did. If he didn't knew any better, he'd say she's even actively working against him, but — ah, there's no way she knows. Anything, really. Maybe a couple smaller suspicions, but she doesn't know, or they wouldn't have any conversation bothering on civil. "I've thought you a more practical person than to think of such define and abstract terms, I have to admit."

Jon & Martin

Somewhere in s1-s2 where Jon is still hostile but vaguely tolerant of Martin. Bonus points for Martin still living in the archives OR Martin finding Jon coming out of the tunnels at some point. I don’t have an actual PLOT plot but I have a setting and I like irritable Jon having to deal with this very nice man he doesn’t know what to do with. Stop being nice at him. 

Apocalypse camping. Yeah, they’re both feeding off domains and they probably could just walk on forever towards the Panopticon as long as Jon stops and Witnesses, but the soft moments of finding a place to rest between the horrors and pretending for just a moment that everything can be alright... 

Time travel. Have you seen the fanart of s5 Jon coming back to warn the s1 crew? I love that idea so much holy shit. s5 Jon interacting with s1 Martin or vice versa, or the s1 pair and the s5 pair? This one has so many possibilities.

Elias & Jon

Something set before season 1. While likely not a long plot, I do think it might be interesting to play with who elias pretended to be and his process of deciding that Jon would be the best option for this “promotion” when it came up. 

After season 5, Jon ends up in another world and meets another Elias. Original Elias. Who is not nearly high enough to be dealing with the weirdness that has just been thrust into his world. 

... time travel au? Okay, so I’m drawing a bit of a blank for a 3rd plot, but I do think there’s probably some au potential here. Maybe not Jon traveling back to s1, but traveling past that. Interacting with any of the men Elias was before he was Elias.

     Hᴇ ᴍᴇᴀɴs to be excited for Martin. He really, truly does want to be, but it's just so very hard. Not that he doesn't care for Martin, he does, very much so, it's just... it's all a bit more complicated than that. His own emotions get in the way of being there for his friends, and he knows it sucks, and he knows he should just attempt to swallow it all down, but he's been doing that for so very long it sits in his throat and blocks out anything gentle that wants to come out, only leaving room for razorblades cutting through it.

     "How nice for you." It comes out colder than he means it too, and he attempts to bite his tongue while it's still salvageable, but it still slips out of him. "You know he's probably using you and lying to you as much as any of us though, right."

     Tʜᴇʏ'ᴠᴇ ʙᴇᴇɴ over this, hadn't they? Times and times again. It's starting to get a little tiresome, if he's being honest, the utter resistance to learn anything from this. Disappointing, even. One would think that if nothing else, then this place at the very least was one for learning out of mistakes, be it their own or, much rather and looking at all these statements, the ones of someone else. And yet, she seemed determined to stay ignorant and even stupid. Really, he had expected better of her, but perhaps that was his own fault for believing there was something within most people that made them aim forward and higher, instead of constantly digging their own graves.

     Well. It's not to be helped if that's what they wanted to do, now was it?

     "Oh, your intent had been quite clear. What I think is something you're still struggling with is the fact it won't succeed." Very ounce of disappointment sits heavy on his voice. "We've had this discussion multiple times, Melanie. It's really a waste of your potential."
