since i'm once again on a TOS binge, here are some of my favorite Bill Thiess creations. truly the best to ever do it. the pink number from "Who Mourns for Adonias" that is only held up by the weight of the train??? sensational

after his death, Thiess's estate auctioned off a lot of these pieces and donated the money to charity. if you ever want to feel insane read the prices some of it sold for. that metallic halter top + cape fit??? $173. are. you. kidding. me.

Hike in Hedden (Again), New Jersey - May 30th 2025

I started my hike going into a large forested wetland along the north facing slope of the hill, 1. where hay-scented fern met with skunk cabbage 2. As i took this a large American Toad (Anaxyrus americanus) hopped out of a bush at me 3. Walking to the lake I snuck up on an American Cormorant (species uncertain) 4. When a Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) walked out of a willow thicket. Up the creek I noticed some 5. Maple Leaf Viburnum (V. acerfolium) and 6. Cucumber root (Medeola virginiana) growing from some boulders. 7. Mountain Laurel (Kalmia latifolia) was in full bloom at the top of the hill. 8. Walking deeper I found an uncharacteristic Red Buckeye (Aesculus pavia) which doesn't grow in NJ really...9. then walking up the stream I stopped at the site of a historic murder I found a bunch of Blue-eye grass (probably: Sisyrinchium angustifolium). Occasionally I see new things on a hike I've been doing since I was 4

i think the whole cringe is dead, radical sincerity, depth of genuine emotion, earnest effort, and unironic love thing that tumblr has going on the past few years has transformed my outlook on things and changed me for the better. but it does mean that now the people i know irl will give me strange looks for being too sappy or too poetic or too dedicated or too excited about about something because they're still stuck in their "well i only like this ironically" phase. guess that's their problem tho not mine <3
