My headcanon is that Phule smashed those clockwork guards with his marotte. Because unless he used his bare fists (?), that's the only thing he seems to have on-hand, and I like to think he's learned how to use it as a weapon.

There has to be solidarity amongst the film community about the authoritarian censorship of the government. They should speak out for each other against ANY censorship. Whether they agree with it or not.
Where was the director/actors of Phule when the directors/actors of Empuraan were getting attacked just last month because that movie touched on the 2002 Godhra riots. Empuraan was only released after large scale censorship and the cast/director/writer getting death threats.
This is the perfect showcasing of 'First they came for the communists' poem.
Keeping quiet when films about atrocities against Muslims are censored and shut down. Never realizing that one day that target is going to get painted on themselves when they make a movie about caste based atrocities.
At the end of the day the BJP is a so called upper caste party and Hindutva nationalism has always been about getting the votes of the other castes by creating a common enemy in other religions, languages and cultures. That people don't still realize this is baffling.
