Wall Thickness Calculations: One of the most crucial aspects of pressure design calculations involves determining the minimum wall thickness required for pipes to safely contain the pressure. Little P.Eng. uses sophisticated software tools to compute this accurately, factoring in variables like operating pressure, material strength, temperature, and pipe diameter.
Flange Rating Calculations: Little P.Eng. expertly handles the complexity of flange rating calculations, which involve determining the maximum pressure that flanges can handle without leaking. The process considers factors such as temperature, bolting material, gasket type, and flange material.
Branch Connection Calculations: When designing a process piping system, engineers often need to calculate the reinforcements required for branch connections. Little P.Eng. performs these calculations with precision, ensuring the integrity and safety of the piping system.
Expansion Joint Pressure Thrust Calculations: Expansion joints are vital components of process piping systems that accommodate thermal expansion or contraction. Little P.Eng. uses advanced tools to calculate the pressure thrust exerted on these joints, thus ensuring their optimal design.
Safety Valve Reaction Force Calculations: Little P.Eng. also determines the reaction force exerted on safety valves when they open in response to excessive pressure. These calculations are essential for the safe and efficient operation of the process piping system.
Pipe Support Span Calculations: Pipe support span calculations are critical for ensuring that the pipe doesn't sag excessively under its weight and operating conditions. Little P.Eng. performs these calculations meticulously, keeping in mind various factors such as pipe size, material, and temperature.
High-Pressure Piping Design Calculations: For high-pressure piping systems, Little P.Eng. offers specialized calculation services that consider unique challenges such as material selection, joint design, and testing procedures, ensuring the integrity of the system even under extreme pressure conditions.

"In the salt flats of Gujarat, India, an unlikely green revolution is underway. With support from trade union SEWA, thousands of informal salt farmers are swapping diesel pumps for solar power â cutting emissions, raising incomes and proving that the path to net zero can bring both environmental and economic transformation.
As you reach for the salt shaker at dinner tonight, pause for a moment to consider those fine white crystals. They may represent the final stage of a journey that starts in a harsh, unforgiving world few ever see.
These crystals could well derive from the blistered salt flats of Surendranagar, in the western reaches of the Indian state of Gujarat. For generations, families like Manguben Dhirubhai Jagaâs have toiled from dawn to well past dusk in the 45ÂșC heat and blinding sun to produce one of the worldâs most essential and undervalued minerals. And thanks to climate change, their lives are only getting tougher.
âSalt is everything here,â Manguben tells the JUST Stories team as she crouches beside a large rectangular earthen pan filled with evaporating brine. She scoops up a handful of large pearly white cuboids, one of natureâs wondrous geometric forms; her face wrapped in a thin scarf to protect against the unrelenting glare. âWe donât go to the office. Thisâ â she gestures to the gleaming desert â âis our office.â The ground is parched and fissured like cracked porcelain; but in the distance, flamingos dot a flooded plain, an ominous sign for the salt farmers â despite its refreshing relief, early rain can ruin a salt harvest.
A grime-encrusted diesel-powered pump sits quietly by one of the nearby pans â a once essential cog in the process; both a blessing and a curse for the women, and a pernicious source of carbon emissions weighing heavily on Indiaâs net zero transition. âWe used to spend everything we earned on diesel and repairs,â Manguben says. âThere was nothing left at the end of the season.â She recalls the engine breaking down mid-season, the belts snapping, and how they would have to wait days for a mechanic to come from the nearest town. âOne year, it didnât start for ten days. We lost so much time and income.â
India is the worldâs third largest salt producer, 80% of which comes from these inland salt flats in Gujarat. The vast majority of the workforce here are women like Manguben, but for decades they have received a pittance for their back-breaking labour; reliant on extortionate loans to buy diesel at inflated prices at the start of the season and forced to sell their salt at rock-bottom prices by exploitative middlemen.
At just 26 years old, Manguben has already spent over a decade working under the harsh conditions of the salt farms. Every year, she and her family of ten migrate 40 kilometres from their village to the desert, where they will live in a chhapara â a makeshift hut made of sticks and tarpaulin â for the next eight months. The women sleep inside and the men under the stars. Her day starts at 7am with a quick breakfast of bajri no rotlo (millet roti) and black tea. And then sheâs straight into the brine: repairing lining, fixing leaks in pipes, monitoring water levels, stamping down and raking the salt in her bare feet to create the perfect size crystals. She breaks at midday to have a simple lunch of rice and dhal, before returning to the pans â only stopping when the stars start to glimmer in the sky.
There is no running water. No electricity. No shade. âWe work with our feet in saltwater all day,â she says. âIt burns when you have cuts. But thereâs no choice â you have to keep going.â Mangubenâs hands are painted white with salt, with water too precious to wash them â their supplies are only for drinking, and sparingly. After a few hours in the desert your skin starts to feel sticky and clogged, like youâve been bathing in the sea. Manguben now travels home for a weekly shower, a luxury that she has only recently been able to afford.Â
But, as for most of the two billion unregistered, untaxed and unprotected workers that comprise the worldâs informal economy, thatâs just the way it goes â particularly for women. For Manguben however, that changed recently, when the Self-Employed Women Association (SEWA), a trade union that advocates for the rights of low-income, independently employed women across Indiaâs informal sector, posed some simple but powerful questions: What if these Agariyas (salt-pan workers) also owned the energy that powered their salt production, and were able to maintain the technology themselves? And what if that energy was clean and healthy for both the women and the environment?
Over the past decade, with help from SEWA and its partners, the Agariyas have been steadily replacing their diesel-powered pumps with solar-powered equivalents, facilitated by comprehensive green skills training and funded through a pioneering financing scheme; thereby slashing emissions, cutting costs and giving the women control over their own economic futures. âNow, we donât spend on diesel. We save. We decide together. â Manguben says. âWe used to feel helpless; now we feel proud.âw
On the horizon, a plume of dark smoke rises endlessly from a neighbour's diesel pump. But here, two small solar panels tilt toward the sky. They make no sound. No smoke. Just consistent, reliable power from the sun.
Indeed, in this barren moonscape a quiet revolution is taking place in one of the worldâs most gruelling industries â one that could transform how we think about just transitions to net zero emissions, and more specifically how to realise basic human, gender and labour rights in the worldâs shadow economy. With hundreds of thousands of salt pan workers worldwide â and millions of women working in informal, carbon-intensive sectors more broadly â SEWAâs business model provides a blueprint for climate action boosted by an underutilised power source: women.
âThis is one of the most stunning examples of a truly just transition,â says Mary Robinson, former Irish President and UN Human Rights Commissioner, and co-founder of women-led climate justice campaign Project Dandelion, a close partner of SEWAâs, after visiting the salt pans with the JUST Stories team in February. âFrom bullocks to diesel to solar â owned and run by the women themselves. Itâs a rare, holistic story â one the rest of the world should be learning from.â

pretty please could you write really fluffy Ollie teaching reader to drive. Maybe she went to a race and was speaking to some other wags or drivers and tells them she can't drive and they can't believe it so ollie tells her he's gonna teach her to drive finally. Thank you in advance âșïžâșïž I love your writing sm đ«¶đ»đ«¶đ»
mirror, signal, blush - OB87

Masterlist
Summary When you casually admit at the Mercedes motorhome that youâve never learned to drive, the entire paddock loses their mind. Ollie Bearman, your boyfriend and F2âs golden boy, decides on the spot to teach you â dragging you into a hire car before FP1 with zero warning and too much faith. What follows is a chaotic, hilarious, and surprisingly tender driving lesson through the paddock car park, complete with curb hits, TikTok footage, and Ollieâs unwavering belief in you. By the end, you're not just trending as #BabyDriver â youâve got a picture tucked in his passport beside his championship win.
Warnings fluff, chaotic driving, secondhand embarrassment, teasing from the grid, supportive boyfriend energy, public attention, playful nicknames, light swearing, extreme Ollie Bearman adorableness, embarrassing viral footage, zero driving skill, found-family dynamics in the paddock
It started at the Mercedes motorhome. Which, to be fair, was where most chaotic things seemed to begin.
You hadnât meant to say it out loud. You were just chatting. Just sipping an iced coffee and listening to Carmen Mundt roast George for chewing too loud, when Lily Z gasped from the other side of the table and said, âWait. You donât drive?â
The table went quiet. Genuinely quiet. Even Charles, whoâd only just arrived and was stuffing his face with a protein bar, froze mid-chew.
You blinked.Â
âLike⊠at all?â
You shook your head slowly. âI never learned.â
Now they were all staring. âNever?â Lily MH asked, eyes wide behind her sunglasses.
âYouâre joking,â Rebecca said, reaching for her sparkling water like she needed to hydrate through the shock.
Carmen leaned across the table, grinning. âBut⊠how old are you?â
âTwenty-one.â
âAnd not even a license?â
You shrugged, suddenly aware that every driver, every girlfriend, and every PR staffer within earshot was slowly tuning into the conversation. âI donât need to drive! Iâve always lived in cities. I walk. I Uber. I take the train-â
âOh my god,â Lily Z gasped again, âare you a train girl?â
Charles choked on his protein bar.
âSheâs never driven?â Oscar piped up from a nearby table, spinning in his chair to face you. âNot even once?â
You winced. âI mean, Iâve sat in the driverâs seat-â
George looked like he might faint. âThis is unacceptable.â
âIâve just never learned, okay?â you laughed, trying not to shrivel beneath the stares. âIs it really that bad?â
And then, âNot bad,â came Ollieâs voice from behind you. âJust⊠tragic.â
You turned in your chair, half-scowling. âOllie.â
He grinned, sliding into the seat beside you and pressing a quick kiss to your cheek. âBabe. Youâre dating me. You canât tell these people youâve never driven. Weâre fixing this.â
âNo weâre not.â
âYes, we are.â His eyes were alight, the challenge already accepted before you could protest. âIâm teaching you to drive.â
You didnât think he meant that weekend.
But the next morning, he dragged you out of bed before FP1 and stuffed you into a black hire car with âtrust meâ eyes and an energy drink that could probably bring the dead back to life.
âI havenât even brushed my teeth,â you grumbled.
âYouâre perfect,â he said, and tossed you the keys.
You flinched. âWeâre not actually doing this, right?â
He leaned back, one arm draped over the seat, all smug and golden and boyish. âCâmon. You sat through an entire wet qualifying in Budapest and didnât cry. You can handle first gear.â
You stalled the engine three times before you even left the paddock parking lot.
Ollie didnât even flinch. âItâs fine, baby. Try again.â
You glared at the gear stick like it had personally wronged you. âIâm going to kill us.â
He grinned. âNah. Iâve seen the way you parallel park your luggage in hotel lobbies. Youâve got this.â
âNot helping.â
âYouâre literally doing amazing.â
âStop lying.â
He leaned in, kissed your jaw, and murmured, âIâm not lying. Youâve got it. Youâre already better than Charles.â
You tried not to smile. âNot a high bar.â
Eventually, the car started moving. Sort of. Lurching more than rolling. But forward was forward, and Ollie looked like he might cry from pride.
âOkay, okay, okay-â he whispered excitedly. âHands at ten and two. Light on the clutch. Brake like you love me. Yes!â
âBrake like IÂ what?â
âLike you love me.â
âBabe, I will drive us into a wall.â
He laughed and clutched his chest like youâd wounded him. âUnreal behaviour.â
You made it to an empty stretch of road by the team hospitality, where PR staff and engineers were just beginning to show up, blinking in the morning sun. A few spotted the car and waved. One or two started filming.
âI swear to god, if this ends up on TikTok-â
âToo late,â Ollie said cheerfully. âYouâre trending under #BabyDriver.â
You groaned and rested your head against the steering wheel.
âHey.â He nudged you. âYouâre doing great.â
âI havenât even gone over twenty.â
âExactly. You havenât died. Or killed me. Or crashed into Zak Brownâs hire car.â
You narrowed your eyes. âWas that on the table?â
âDefinitely.â
By lap four around the car park, you were almost enjoying it.
Not the driving part. That still made your palms sweat and your stomach twist. But Ollieâs commentary? His terrible metaphors? His âmirror, signal, vibeâ instructional method? That was worth the nerves.
âOkay, letâs try a turn,â he said gently.
You turned. And you clipped the curb.
âOkay,â he nodded. âCool. Curbâs still standing. Weâre still alive. No harm done.â
You looked at him, waiting for the lecture. For the laugh. For the I told you so.
But Ollie Bearman just smiled, leaned across the gear stick, and kissed you softly.
âSee?â he whispered. âYouâre a natural.â
That night, George posted a picture of the entire Mercedes team gathered around his phone, cackling at the dashcam footage of you screeching the car to a halt.
Lando reposted it with: âCanât believe Baby Bearâs girlfriend just invented driving đđđâ
Oscar sent you a text that read: âYou in the car: đđšđ§đ»ââïžđ§đ»ââïžđ§đ»ââïž Everyone else: đłâ ïžđâ
But Ollie?
He just printed out the first photo of you behind the wheel and slipped it into his passport holder. Right beside the one of you kissing him after his F2 win.
When you found it later, you rolled your eyes.
âYouâre obsessed with me.â
He smirked. âDamn right I am.â

What is Dataflow?
This post is inspired by another post about the Crowd Strike IT disaster and a bunch of people being interested in what I mean by Dataflow. Dataflow is my absolute jam and I'm happy to answer as many questions as you like on it. I even put referential pictures in like I'm writing an article, what fun!
I'll probably split this into multiple parts because it'll be a huge post otherwise but here we go!
A Brief History
Our world is dependent on the flow of data. It exists in almost every aspect of our lives and has done so arguably for hundreds if not thousands of years.
At the end of the day, the flow of data is the flow of knowledge and information. Normally most of us refer to data in the context of computing technology (our phones, PCs, tablets etc) but, if we want to get historical about it, the invention of writing and the invention of the Printing Press were great leaps forward in how we increased the flow of information.
Modern Day IT exists for one reason - To support the flow of data.
Whether it's buying something at a shop, sitting staring at an excel sheet at work, or watching Netflix - All of the technology you interact with is to support the flow of data.
Understanding and managing the flow of data is as important to getting us to where we are right now as when we first learned to control and manage water to provide irrigation for early farming and settlement.
Engineering Rigor
When the majority of us turn on the tap to have a drink or take a shower, we expect water to come out. We trust that the water is clean, and we trust that our homes can receive a steady supply of water.
Most of us trust our central heating (insert boiler joke here) and the plugs/sockets in our homes to provide gas and electricity. The reason we trust all of these flows is because there's been rigorous engineering standards built up over decades and centuries.
For example, Scottish Water will understand every component part that makes up their water pipelines. Those pipes, valves, fitting etc will comply with a national, or in some cases international, standard. These companies have diagrams that clearly map all of this out, mostly because they have to legally but also because it also vital for disaster recovery and other compliance issues.
Modern IT
And this is where modern day IT has problems. I'm not saying that modern day tech is a pile of shit. We all have great phones, our PCs can play good games, but it's one thing to craft well-designed products and another thing entirely to think about they all work together.
Because that is what's happened over the past few decades of IT. Organisations have piled on the latest plug-and-play technology (Software or Hardware) and they've built up complex legacy systems that no one really knows how they all work together. They've lost track of how data flows across their organisation which makes the work of cybersecurity, disaster recovery, compliance and general business transformation teams a nightmare.
Some of these systems are entirely dependent on other systems to operate. But that dependency isn't documented. The vast majority of digital transformation projects fail because they get halfway through and realise they hadn't factored in a system that they thought was nothing but was vital to the organisation running.
And this isn't just for-profit organisations, this is the health services, this is national infrastructure, it's everyone.
There's not yet a single standard that says "This is how organisations should control, manage and govern their flows of data."
Why is that relevant to the companies that were affected by Crowd Strike? Would it have stopped it?
Maybe, maybe not. But considering the global impact, it doesn't look like many organisations were prepared for the possibility of a huge chunk of their IT infrastructure going down.
Understanding dataflows help with the preparation for events like this, so organisations can move to mitigate them, and also the recovery side when they do happen. Organisations need to understand which systems are a priority to get back operational and which can be left.
The problem I'm seeing from a lot of organisations at the moment is that they don't know which systems to recover first, and are losing money and reputation while they fight to get things back online. A lot of them are just winging it.
Conclusion of Part 1
Next time I can totally go into diagramming if any of you are interested in that.
How can any organisation actually map their dataflow and what things need to be considered to do so. It'll come across like common sense, but that's why an actual standard is so desperately needed!

Emotional Support Intern Peter Parker
Tony and Peter finally arrive in the large room, polished leather Oxfords and stained-lace Converse making their way through the crowd of professionals. Tony has a hand on Peter's back guiding him, because no matter how many meetings, conferences, and office buildings they traverse together, Peter always manages to get lost the second Tony lets go.Â
Thankfully Pepper is easy to spot, shaking hands with some blah blah from wee woo Industries. Her hair is the only splash of colour in the constant white black grey of everyone's pencil skirts and collared shirts.Â
"Hi Ms. Potts!" Peter greets as soon as the woman turns and spots them.Â
"Hi PeterâTony. I told you to stop bringing the kid to these things. No offense Peter."
"None taken! You look lovely, did you get your hair done?"
Pepper's hair cascades over her shoulder in perfect curls, splayed out over her white button-up.Â
"Yes actually, a trim and some highlights. I think she went shorter than I asked though, because I always get half an inch, and this does not look like half an inch."
Peter steps a bit closer and squints at the piece of copper hair she's holding out.Â
"I think it's just because she curled it. You usually get it blow dried after."
"Hm. I think you're right actually."
Tony rolls his eyes, "I'm so glad you guys are having such a great slumber party. C'mon kid I have to avoid that senator and he's starting to glance this way." He tries to head over to some tall plants that happen to be great blind spots.Â
"Ah ah ah Tony! We are talking about this. I told you to stop dragging Peter to all of your work responsibilities. I'm sure he's bored to death with these meetings and work events."
"Pep, he's an intern, he's supposed to be bored and taken advantage of. Besides, if you take away my emotional support intern then I simply wouldn't show up! So."
"You aren't even paying him for his time!" Pepper says at the same time Peter mumbles "emotional support intern?"
"Um excuse me, that 3 million dollar suit he stuffs between his math homework and Go-Gurt begs to differ. And anyways, I pay him with experience. I brought him to that seminar in LA on Saturday, and he's following me to Tokyo for that week long conference in July. I highly doubt he's complaining," he squeezes the boy's shoulders, Peter looking up and beaming at him and Pepper.Â
"I'm really fine with it Ms. Potts. Besides, the more of these things I go to the more lab time I get!" Peter pipes in.
Pepper glares at Tony. "Really, bribery?"Â
"Okay well, if us grown adults don't want to be here how else am I supposed to get a 15 year old to talk about environmental reform to people who don't even believe in climate change."Â
Pepper and Tony hold each other's stares.
"You mean he spoke to Mr. Ellis about the generator you designed for his carbon plant, and it didn't end with him calling us a pansy corporation and you calling him a decrepit geezer who's business is the only thing that's going to die quicker than he is?"
There's barely stiffled hope supressed under Pepper's professionalism.Â
Tony smirks. "Yep, I think Mr. Ellis even smiled. The kid's got charm! Who knew."
Pepper glances at Peter in consideration.Â
"Peter have you ever considered pursuing anything further in business? Engineering is great, but if you really want to be successful it's incredibly important to build interpersonal skills, leadership, and even current market and finance knowledge. I mean you might want to sell your designs one day, or start a company."Â
"Oh, I haven't really-"
"You could shadow me! I mean interning with a CEO is a once in a lifetime opportunity, it would give you a glowing resume, and I know a lot more about this stuff than Tony. He didn't even perform his executive duties when he actually was the CEO."
Pepper has that gleam in her eyes, the one she gets when men call her sweetheart, or when Tony isn't even dressed for their reservation that started ten minutes ago.Â
It means she's already had the argument in her head.Â
Peter is still stuttering, flustered with this side of Pepper. Her business face isn't usually directed at him, and it's a far cry from the woman who sends him home with leftovers from dinner.Â
"Wait wait wait, are you trying to steal my intern?" Tony asks incredulously.Â
"If anyone even needs an intern Tony it would be me. I have to babysit you and the company, meanwhile you just need him to hand you wrenches. Competent help is hard to find these days and you're wasting his talents."Â
"Um, excuse me, he's the only thing keeping me together. You already have your fancy day planner and Excel spreadsheets, I need him to get me out of the house. He's the only thing keeping me a responsible adult, if you take away my emotional support intern then I will not attend a single meeting for the rest of the quarter."Â
"You are such a man child!"
"La la la la can't hear youuu," Tony says with his fingers in his ears.
"Um, guys, I think people are staring."
Peter tugs on the corner of Tony's sleeve to get him to unplug his ears, glancing nervously at the groups of people sending them judgemental stares. The three of them give a wave and pleasant smile, most of the crowd continuing to move along on the grey carpet at the sight of their unsettling synchronicity and false turn of the lips.Â
Pepper speaks through her teeth, a grin still presented at passers-by. "Fine, you can keep him, but only because he's doing half my job for me. The only person you can emotionally regulate around and it's a teenager. I'm glad you finally found someone who can keep you entertained."Â
"Love you too honey," Tony says while putting a hand on the small of her back and kissing her cheek. He sighs, looking around the room at all the government officials who think these tech companies are spying on them.Â
Apparently a surveillance state is only cool when they do it to manipulate their incarceration numbers, rig elections and lobby votes, and not for data mining and targeted ads.Â
"I say we hit the cheese and crackers, take an awkward amount of sips from those tiny water bottles, and then speak to some old ladies till we have to do our presentation."
"Sounds great Mr. Stark. Will you make sure they don't grab my face again? I smelled like old lady perfume at school and Flash started making fun of me for stealing people's grandmas."
Tony looks into Peter's eyes questioningly and finds nothing but sincerity and resignation in them.Â
"Well. Not my fault your cheeks are so gosh darn cute. But I'll do my best," he wraps an arm around the shorter and starts heading through the room again.Â
The weight is comforting. Peter used to get anxious at these events, but Tony never leaves his side and is always looking at him like he's the Michaelangelo in the center of every room. He became accustomed to being Mr. Stark's favourite part of the event. While that may not seem difficult, especially considering the droning lectures and snooty company, it always feels special making jokes about people's ridiculous work jargon, and comparing the staleness of crackers at conferences.Â
"Emotional support intern huh?" he says smugly.Â
Tony glances at him, but instead of scoffing or denying anything, he just speaks with honesty. "You and Pepper are the best, most important things to this company. And to me. I'm really glad you're here kid."
Peter doesn't know what to say. The words stick in his throat while Tony hands him a water bottle with the lid already cracked.Â
Peter has super strength; It's completely unnecessary to open his bottle for him. He doesn't point this out. Tony will do it at the next meeting, just like he did at the last one, and Peter will never mention it.

Southside, Jamaica Queens â93.
Your sleek black Mercedes glided silently onto the gravel driveway of your modest home. As the engine's purring faded once you took the key out of the ignition, your hand instinctively shot out to grasp the door handle, your heart just starting to soothe from the dayâs events.
The cool late-night air brushed across your face, refreshing to feel. But your composure faltered as your gaze fell upon the open window. âWhat the hell?â you mumbled angrily.
In one swift motion, you snatched the polished Beretta model 81 from your purse, switching to the chaos of your racing thoughts.
Years had passed since you had slipped into the shadows, and retired, finally leaving behind the dangerous drug world and mainly trying to stay away your old flame, Unique.
You had traded the streets of Queens for the silence of the suburban neighborhood named Forest Hills, seeking refuge from the relentless cycle of death, betrayal, and the fear that always loomed over your shoulder.
With each careful step toward your front door, sharpened your senses, and you held the gun tightly, your fingers wrapped around its trigger as if it were an extension of yourself.
Once dismissed as nothing more than a simple country bumpkin from the small town of South Carolina, you transformed yourself into a feared drug queenpin in the gritty underbelly of Southside, Jamaica Queens, New York.
You earned a reputation as the most ruthless and calculating drug queenpin the streets had ever seen, commanding respect and fear in equal measure.
Your climb to power caught the attention of Unique, a formidable rival also competing for the top spot in the dangerous game of the drug world.
The competition between you ignited a spark, and what began as animosity soon evolved into a mutual attraction.
In the heat of those tense confrontations, the pent-up frustration morphed into something undeniable: you found yourself reaching out to Unique, inviting him into your life more for some good sex that left you both breathless.
As the nights unfolded, filled with passion and fervor, Unique fell for youâdeeply and irrevocably.
And you, despite the chaos surrounding you, discovered that your heart mirrored his, entwining your fates in ways neither of you had expected.
When Unique loved, he loved deeply. He endured a vicious assault at the hands of his brother, Ronnie, who struck him with a steel pipe, leaving him severely injured.
Following this harrowing event, Unique managed to drag himself out of the woods and reached out to Early Tyler for assistance.
When your trusted right-hand man Marcus informed you that Unique had died and been buried, you instinctively suspected Ronnie's involvement.
The news shattered you, and you found yourself in tears. You had to leave this drug world once and for all.
However, upon seeing the news report on your television confirming Ronnie's death, a sense of relief washed over you.
You cautiously nudged the heavy front door open, its hinges groaning ominously. With a swift motion, you shut the door behind you, the sharp click of the lock echoing in the silence, sealing you inside.
Ever since that fateful night, Unique had clawed his way back, defying the odds that had so many convinced he was gone for good.
*You had once dismissed the whispers of his survival as mere folklore, but now an undeniable curiosity stirred within youâthe need to witness the truth for yourself.*
In your home, you gradually walked in the kitchen, gripping a gun tightly in your hand. You flipped the light switch, brightening the spacious room with a warm, amber glow that bounced off the walls.
âWho the hell are you to break in my fucking house! Do you know who I am?â You hollered with authority, aiming your gun at the man.
Your nose caught a whiff of his familiar cologne, you wanted to believe it.
Your face contorted with confusion and shock, your jaw dropped once your eyes landed on that familiar glow of his gold chains, clinking together, the smell of cedar, a hint of something sweet from his cologne.
His low-cut fade is freshly trimmed, scars on the side of his face and his deep ebony skin glistens under the light, he was eating your favorite ice cream while his back leaned against the sink counter, and his deep brown eyes met yours.
It couldn't be him, right?
âU-Unique?â You spoke up, your voice cracked with heavy emotion.
He looked up and smirked, the corner of his mouth lifting in that way you remembered so well. âDamn, you ain't happy to see me, baby? You still aiminâ that gun at me, I ainât no intruder; my bad for the sudden surprise,â
âKadeem? I thought you were dead,â you lamented in worry, keeping your gun steady, though your hands trembled slightly.
He remembered that you called him by his real name during the conversations when it was serious. His face softened at you, tugging at his heartstrings.
âYeah, well, rumors be wildinâ. You know how it is,â he crooned, stepping closer, and placing the empty bowl and spoon in the sink.
âPut that fuckinâ gun down,â Unique shot back, his voice laced with frustration. His New York accent left his speech.
âPut my fuckinâ window down first and then lock it, don't ever do that scary shit again,â You shot back, your voice laced with emotion.
He wasn't dead, he was alive. Breathing right in front of you, you couldn't believe it. Unique still remembered you? You guessed with a head injury like that, he would have some memory loss.
You face softened at the sight of him, but you lowered the gun onto the counter, the clacker echoing in the room as the wind blew into the kitchen and Unique gently shut the window back down before spinning around, he locked it and walked back toward you.
Your lip quivered, feeling tears fall down your face before wiping them away, âKadeem, why? Why would you come back and hurt me again like this?â
He pulled you close to face with his arms, making you face him forward with that sinful smirk of his. The feel of his hands was warm, against the fabric of your black dress.
Your hands stayed at your sides, not ready to touch him but it felt real. âI never wanted to hurt you, I love you.â Unique whispered to you, kissing the shell of your ear.
He leaned in close, his lips crashed against yours felt warm, soft and loving, you leaned in by kissing him back as your arms wrapped around his waist. âI love you too,â you mumbled, You could resist but lay your head on his chest, hearing his heartbeat.
âSix months, that's how long were you out there? I heard that Ronnie was dead on the news, after that, I left the game for good,â You admitted firmly, pulling away to look at him.
âListen, I didnât come back to hurt you, I was layinâ low, and had to get back at Raq for takinâ my work from me,â he said frimly, dipping his head to catch your gaze. His tone filled with bitterness at the end.
âI came back 'cause I had to. Ainât no way I was gonna let you think I was gone for good.â
You swallowed hard, the intensity of his stare making it hard to breathe. âYou donât get to just waltz back into my life after all this time! Do you have any idea what I went through?â
His grip on the counter tightened, desperation and longing in his eyes. âYeah, I know. I heard things, baby. I thought I lost you for good. You think I wanted to leave you like that? You think I wanted you to think I was dead?â
âThen whyâd you let me believe it?â you shot back, the anger in your voice laced with the pain of those lost years.
âCause I had to get myself right for me, get my work back on these streets and let niggas know who to fear and whoâs the king,â he replied, his voice audible and rough. That rasp in his tone made you shudder.
âI had to play dead to keep you safe Y/N. Ainât nobody gonna hurt you while Iâm around, ya feel me?â Unique exclaimed, an evil smirk on his face with a dark chuckle.
His words hung in the air, heavy with love. You wanted to stay mad at him, but the truth was, you missed him. You missed the way he made you feel alive, the way he could pull you out of the darkest moments.
âUniqueââ you started, but he cut you off, his thumb brushing against your cheek.
âJust let me explain baby,â he murmured, pulling you even closer until your bodies were flush against each other.
âI came back for you. Youâre all I could think about, all the time I was gone. Youâre my girl, you know that?â He said, his voice genuine.
The sincerity in his voice broke through your defenses, and you could feel the walls youâd built around your heart start to crumble. âYou canât just come back into my life and expect everything to be okay, Kadeem. It doesnât work like that.â
âYeah? Well, Iâm not just any nigga. Iâm Unique, remember? I donât give up that easy, just âcause youâre done with the game, don't mean we doneâ he said, his smirk returning as he leaned in closer.
You could barely think, the way he was looking at you made your heart race. âYou always did have a way with words,â you admitted, a small smile breaking through the tension.
âDamn right, I do, And I know what you need, baby. Let me show you.â he replied, his voice dropping lower as he leaned in, his lips brushing against yours.
Before you could respond, Unique crashed his lips against yours, heat flowed through your body. It was like a dam had broken, all the pent-up desire and frustration of years away from each other flooding back in an instant.
Your lips melted against him, your hands finding their way to his face, tugging him closer as he deepened the kiss. âYou've got all making up to do, you know that?â
âI ain't come here for the ice cream, now did I? Can I show you how much I missed you?â Unique flirted playfully, his voice raised an octave.
âYes, please,â You spoke up, your voice was soft yet a bit desperate, not too much. It was all because you missed him that much, just feel him this much was enough to make you jump his bones.
Unique lifted you effortlessly, your legs wrapping around his waist as he pressed you against the cool granite. You lowered the zipper of his jacket, exposing his black t-shirt.
He removed his jacket and then took off his t-shirt, showing the healed patches faded on his ribs, while leaving his gold chains on.
"Take this off," Unique commanded, a rumbling from his voice made your pussy clench.
You slid off your dress, and threw it onto the floor, you had no bra which let your breasts fall out, and your brown nipples poked out, sliding off your shoes and socks.
His fingers deftly pushed your black panties to the side, sliding them off while his eyes caught the sticky line of your pussy from your panties, Unique smirked up at you.
âYouâre this fuckinâ wet?â he brought up, his voice deepening. That deep yet slightly raspy voice of his made your pussy flutter, fuck. Unbuckling his belt, and unzipped his pants, kicking off his shoes and socks.
"Damn, your titties are hard and that pussy is wet. You missed me that much?â Unique shot back, his tongue glided across his lip. There he goes again, using that charm.
You spread your legs wide for him, while his middle finger circles your throbbing clit prompting your mouth to part wide, âFuck yes, I missed you too,â you moaned softly, whimpering just how he liked it.
His fingers slipped between your wet folds with his thumb resting on your clit, pumping them in and out of you eliciting loud sweet moans from your lips, but it was much harder, yet loving, you remembered the safe word but you knew that both of you didn't want to stop.
âS-shit! âNique!â you screamed out, your body shaking. His gold rings grazed your labia and clit, causing your pussy to tighten. The soft squelching sounds of your pussy swallowing his digits spurred him on, and a low groan aired out. You were so wet it was a bit embarrassing.
You turned your head to the side but his other hand wrapped around your neck, making you face him forward. âDon't hide that pretty face from me,â he whispered, sinking his teeth into your neck. You wanted more, Wrapping his mouth around your nipple, sucking it. Splattering across his wrist.
âFuck!â you moaned, your hand rested on the nape of his neck. Was he trying to ruin you in this way? If you count the ways, he was like a hold you couldn't shake.
It was the same for Unique, he couldn't let you go even if he tried, and the thought of losing you scared him. He kept watch of you while he was laying low, and he heard the word on the street that you disappeared, vanished like a ghost.
It was true, he saw that outside
and you were gone from the game, but he never forgot you. He had to come back, to reclaim not his territory, but you too.
His gold jewelry glistens with your essence under the kitchen lights, Unique watching your body writhe against his fingers, the pleasure evident on on your face. âI couldn't take the thought of you beinâ gone Y/N, I had to see you,â He coaxed, his fingers slowing for a moment. Teasing you enough just to make you squirm.
âYou can cum now,â
That was all it took to make your knees buckle, those knots in your stomach finally untie and your essence poured onto his fingers, he lifted your legs onto his shoulders and lapped his tongue onto your folds, you shook underneath him. âFuck!â slurping and swallowing every trickle. âYou taste so fuckinâ good, so beautiful when you cum like that,â he hummed softly, kissing your clit twice.
Unique pulled his fingers away and turned your body sideways on the counter, finally sliding off his pants, boxers. His dick in his hand, thick, and wide, his tip beading precum.
As he pushed into you, you gaspedâyour walls enveloping him, squeezing his dick tightly as he filled you completely inch by inch. âYou know what'chu do to me baby?â he groaned, forcefully thrusting into you, feeling the thickness of his dick pulsate inside your wet walls.
âOh fuck, Yes!â you gasped sharply, as your hands gripped his shoulders tight. The chill from the countertop made your nipples harden again, making you hiss.
He rutted his dick in and out you with all his might, as if his dick was a weapon, as if he was trying to reclaim everything he lost, every inch feeling you up. Your ass clapped against his thighs, causing a hot sensation, he fucked you till you went stupid, âI missed you so much,â Unique groans lowly, he meant it. He wanted you to feel his love just like his thrusts, deeply.
Unique grabbed your right leg and hooked it underneath his arm, thrusting even deeper, hitting a spot that made you squirt without even cumming, "Shit! Unique! please!â you cried out, the pleasure overwhelming you as he continued to pound into you relentlessly.
Your eyes rolled back and closed them shut, relishing in the blissful feeling. His hand roughly smacked your ass, sending a jolt of pleasure through you. âLook at you, so pretty like this?â
âUnique!â you screamed, your body convulsing as you rode out your orgasm, your essence spilling out while his warm jets of cum painted your walls, he groaned your name lowly while fucking you through your orgasm.
He made sure to bury much of his cum inside you, you shook and he leaned in for a long passionate kiss, your mouth parted for your tongues tangled together. âSo beautiful,â he murmured, pulling away to leave a string of spit between both of you.
He pulled out of you, eliciting a feeble whine from you and a dark chuckle from him, lifting you off the counter before kissing your lips twice again.
You both collapsed against the counter, panting heavily as you tried to catch your breath. Unique pulled you close, wrapping his arms around you as your thumb swiped over his cheek.
âI missed you,â he murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead.
âI missed you too,â you admitted, your heart swelling with emotion as you snuggled closer to him. âBut what now? What happens next?â
Unique looked down at you, his expression serious yet filled with warmth. âWe take it one day at a time. Iâm not goinâ anywhere this time. I promise.â
You smiled softly, still a bit unsure about everything for the future, especially Unique. âOkay,â you whispered softly.
But Unique wasnât done with you yet. âNah, baby, we ainât done here, and I got more to show you.â he said, a playful smirk on his face as he lifted you up again, carrying you toward the bedroom.
You giggled, excitement bubbling within you as he laid you down on the soft sheets, his body hovering over yours. âYou ready for round two?â he asked, his voice low and teasing.
âAlways,â you replied, your heart racing as he leaned down, capturing your lips in a heated kiss once more.
Unique flipped you on your stomach, you knelt in the center of the bed, your heart racing with anticipation. "You ready, my love?" Unique asked, his voice soothing. You nodded, your eyes fixed on his.
"Yes," she spoke. He nestled himself behind her with his knees resting on the bed, his hands on her hips. He felt so warm, you missed his touch.
His other hand rested on the small of your back, your body melting into his touch. Sliding his dick back inside you, you moaned shakily and your body betraying you as it trembled with need. âShitâŠyou gonâ feel all of this dick, baby? You love it?â he taunted, smacking your ass.
âYes! I love it! Please donât stop!â you begged, your body responding to his every move, every thrust made you wetter, and tears blurred your vision.
âDamn right, you do, youâre mine, all mine. Ainât nobody gonna take you from me again. You understand?â he growled, his voice dripping with lust.
âYes, Unique! I understand!â you cried, the heat of his body against yours making you feel alive.
His hands gripped your thighs, pulling you closer as he thrust deeper, the sound of skin slapping against skin echoing in the bedroom. Drops of cum trickling onto the bedsheets, you were a babbling wet mess, he darkly chuckled, âUnique!â you screamed out, your hands clenching the blankets.
âYeah, baby, youâre takinâ this dick so good. You were made for me, werenât you?â he encouraged, his voice deep. Drilling into you with relentless thrusts, nails dug deep.
âY-yes! I was made for you!â you moaned, your back arching against him as he picked up the pace. The sound of the bed creaking aired out, mixing with your breathy gasps and Uniqueâs deep groans.
âLook at you, all fucked out and wet already, you love me beinâ back in your life like this?â he teased, a wicked grin spreading across his face.
âYes!â you admitted, your voice trembling as his hand gripped your neck gently, just enough to send shivers down your spine. The slight pressure made you feel lightheaded, and you couldnât help but lean into it.
âGood girl,â he praised, his hand on your neck turned your head, almost giving you whiplash. He kissed your lips again voice dripping with lust.
He releases your neck, and your head falls onto the pillow, muffling your slurred moans. He felt the heat radiating from your body, and it drove him wild. âFuck, you feel so good,â he groaned lowly, biting down on his lip.
He was hitting all those right spots from the back that made you see stars, his dick went deeper and deeper, and your essence coated him completely. âDamn, I can see your pussy swallowinâ me up from back here,â he teased, peppering kisses up your back.
He fell in love all over again, each thrust made your legs feel like jello, and your knees go weak. âBaby, I'm cumming!â you felt yourself teetering on the edge of another orgasm.
âDo it,â
After those words, the coil finally snapped, and you cried out, your body shuddering in pleasure as your essence spilled out onto his dick completely. Unique followed right after, his warm cum filling you as he buried his face into the crook of your neck, groaning your name after kissing your skin.
Unique collapsed beside you, both of you panting heavily, hearts racing in unison. He pulled you close, wrapping his arms around you as you both tried to catch your breath.
âDamn, baby, you good?â he murmured, his voice softening as he brushed your box braids away from your face.
*You smiled, feeling warmth spread through your chest. âI'm good.â*
He kissed your forehead gently, a tender gesture that made your heart swell. âIâll figure this out, okay? I still got some work out here to do.â
You chuckled softly, the tension of the past melting away as you nestled into his side. âOkay, be safe out there.â
âGood, Now, letâs get some sleep. â he replied, a satisfied grin on his face.
You nodded, feeling safe and secure in his embrace, knowing that the future with was quite uncertain right now, you knew that he was risking his life every day, but you? You were out of the way, retired from the bullshit of that world, no longer apart of it but you had money coming in every day. As you drifted off to sleep, you felt peace for yourself tonight, to be back with Unique was going to be roller coaster ride.

Ceres-class Missile Battleship
spaceship =>
(description & fiction under the break!)
Video Description
Several views of a large, long, and slightly bulky Terran warship in space. The ship has repeating triangle motifs in with various paneled textures throughout. Near the pointed front the nameplate of the ship is visible, reading 'CNS Temeraire'. The long front hull has a flat section on the top, covered in massive missile launch bays. Amidships, several armor plates, painted bright red with the Jovian Eagle in gold, protect the armored hab rings and a series of tubes. Aft, the radiators glow brightly as the engine burns hot. Embedded heat pipes run from the tip of the engine to the radiators
The first view is of the ship from above and in front, showing a dramatic angle. Several 'running lights' blink down the length as navigation lights flash
The second view is located to the side, looking forward, again showing the various lights
The third view is focused on the engine, showing it powering on to 100% thrust, then beyond. As it powers on the heat pipes glow in sequence
The fourth and final view repeats the engine power on sequence but from further, allowing the viewer to also see the coolant vents venting coolant
Excerpt from History of Pre-Domestication Terran Warships (3rd Revision), §685.8: Late Terran Accord & Pacification Program Era Battleships (Guided Projectile), Eltrin Yne, Forty-Seventh Bloom, xe/xem, Elly Yne, Twenty-Sixth Floret, et al.
Designed in 2521 CE (33 BT) by a consortium of Jovian shipbuilding corporations and first commissioned in 2526, the Ceres-class missile battleship was envisioned as a platform to launch massed missile strikes against enemy fleets while providing enhanced point defense and electronic warfare. At 750 meters in length and nearly 100 meters at its widest extent, this class represented one of the largest mass-produced spaceframes fielded by the Cosmic Navy.
Over the course of its service history, the class had numerous revisions. Most notably, the type-3 revision in 2539 (2521-CERES-III) which added coolant vents ahead of the hab rings, reducing their size in the process. The vents were positioned forward of the hab rings to expel hot coolant from over-driven point defense domes and electronic warfare equipment rather than the main engines, though they had a limited ability to expel engine coolant in extreme emergencies. These coolant vents essentially functioned as expendable liquid droplet radiators, which may have led to the development of more practical liquid radiators, had domestication been delayed. (See also §359, Speculation on Terran Shipcraft Development)
While there were no major engagements which featured a Ceres functioning in this intended role, classified TCN documents obtained after the fall of Terra stated that one of the primary goals of the class was to counter contemporary corporate navies, which largely consisted of small anti-piracy vessels, should a coalition of corporations ever come into direct conflict with the Accord.
However, the most significant hostile force that the Accord encountered prior to pacification were various pirate flotillas, which would generally consist of smaller, older, and less militarized vessels. While in a direct engagement a Ceres-class or other contemporary Accord capital ships would easily destroy such vessels, smaller ships were quite capable of outmaneuvering and escaping their would-be-predators.
At the start of the Terran Pacification program, there were 157 Ceres-class vessels active. After the signing of the treaty, only a handful of these ships refused armistice, as the amount of logistical support that the Ceres required to function effectively and the implausibility of that support without the Terran core sectors dissuaded overt feralism. Several dozen of the surviving vessels now serve as museum ships across Terran Protectorate space.

Thermodynamics and Turmoil (Curly x Reader pt. 1)
Hello! I'm putting out my very first piece ever and I'm so excited to feed the masses as much Mouthwashing content as they deserve :) This game has a lot of sensitive topics to it and as such I'll try my best to bring them up as appropriately as possible. The story is gonna start off slow and elaborative because I love all of the Tulpar crew so much (except for Jollof rice, Jimneva convention) and they all have such interesting personalities that I couldn't help but to explore their wants and aspirations. This story will feature an alternative ending to the game because I cannot stomach sad things they make me very sad </3
Next
engineer! reader x curly TW: a bad word or two, I think word count ~ 1.9K
Curly was back in the medical bay for his routine psychological evaluation with Anya. With all of the questions answered and out of the way, the both of them were just chatting before he had to go back to the cockpit and finish up his duties for the afternoon.
âYouâre all good to go, Captain. Seems like there isnât much change from your answers like last time, as usual.â Anya let out a tired sigh.Â
âThat should be a good thing, given weâve already been on this trip for almost two months now. We should all be used to the routine around here at this point. Has everybody else been adjusting alright?â Curly stood up from his chair, Anya following suit as they moved towards the door.Â
âFor the most part, everyoneâs been well but I wish they would open up or take the assessment seriously. I mean, at least Daisuke has been making my job a little easier â he just talks and talks.â she mused. Curly gave a little chuckle in response, thinking about the last-minute intern that the Pony Express decided to add on board to their journey. He wasnât exactly the most helpful â at least according to Swansea â but he brought an air of lightheartedness that they all needed in a cut-corners, shitty working environment like the Tulpar. âOh, actually, have you seen (Y/N) lately?â
Curly thought for a moment. Along with Daisuke, (Y/N) was another late addition to the crew. The Tulpar has started showing its age and as such, there were increasingly consistent problems with the water pipes, life support, and fuel usage. However, instead of giving the crew a new ship, they handed the responsibility of keeping the ship up and running to the passengers. After their previous trip, Swansea went straight to the higher-ups and ripped them a new one, stating that âhe couldnât be expected to perform miraclesâ. When the crew was assigned this trip, they were all surprised that corporate had listened to Swanseaâs complaints and granted them with another engineer. (Y/N) was self-sufficient, only really needing to work with Swansea to consult him on how best to move forward and with Daisuke when Swansea needed a break from his overzealousness. As a result, Curly saw and knew very little about her. âNo, Iâm afraid I havenât. Why?â
âSheâs due for her check-in as well but I havenât seen her these past two days to tell her that. Go figure. We share a room yet recently sheâs been waking up earlier and sleeping later than I have. When I went to ask Swansea and Daisuke if theyâd seen her, they said that they havenât seen her at all today.âÂ
âHuh. Sheâll show up eventually. This ship only has so many places a person can be. If I see her, Iâll let her know to go straight to you. Thanks, Anya.â He patted her shoulder lightly before heading out, making his way back to the cockpit to fulfill his duties.Â
In the evening, the crew convened at the table for dinner. Curly always looked forward to this time of day, where everyone had finished all of their tasks and could open up with light hearted banter. With only the six of them on the ship for over a year, all they had were each other, and he cherished all of his crew members. Anya and Swansea were chatting to the left of him about Swanseaâs kids back on Earth. To his right, he saw Jimmy get increasingly agitated as Daisuke tried convincing him to swap dinners with him. Thatâs when he spotted the empty chair across from him and realized that (Y/N) was still missing.Â
No one was concerned by her absence; it was a common occurrence, and he trusted Daisuke and Swansea to be in the loop about what she was up to and would report to him if anything happened. During the work day, everyone was so consumed with their jobs and couldnât afford to worry about the whereabouts of the others, unless they needed to lend a hand. Curly wasnât an exception to this. As the captain it was his responsibility to make sure his crew members were okay and that things were moving along nicely, and so far there wasnât anything out of the ordinary that indicated otherwise. With everyone finishing up their dinner, clean up began before people bid each other goodnight.Â
In the middle of the night, he woke up parched. Debating whether or not to get a glass of water, he finally got out of bed and made his way to the lounge where the kitchen was. Leaving his room, he could hear a faint clacking noise grow slightly louder the closer he got to the lounge entrance. Opening the door to the lounge, he was finally met with the sixth crew member whom no one had seen all day. Sitting at the dining table, (Y/N) rested her feet on the seat of her chair and had her knees drawn up to her chest. All around her were books and loose papers scattered about. Her hair was messed up, likely a direct cause of the hand she kept on her head, fingernails digging into her scalp. Curly gently cleared his throat, trying to make her aware of his presence. Shooting a tired glance his way, her eyes widened a bit before immediately sitting up straight and tidying her hair. She looked guilty, like she was caught in the middle of doing something she wasnât supposed to be doing.Â
âFinally, we get to see her. Where have you been, Miss Absentee?â He sent a small smile her way, walking over to her.
âC-Captain! What are you doing up? Itâs quite late.â (Y/N) nervously fidgeted.
âJust up for a glass of water. What are you doing up so late is the real question.â He crossed his arms.Â
âJust doing a bit of work. Canât get enough of it.â She joked dryly. Curly frowned and pulled the chair next to her to take a seat. She sighed and leaned back, finally relaxing from tensing up after seeing Curly enter the room. (Y/N) didnât know her captain well, and as such she always tried her best to save face and remain professional with him, but at this hour of the night, she was too tired to keep up with decorum.Â
He leaned on the table, facing her. âI know we may not be as close as you are with Swansea and Daisuke, or even Anya, but as your captain I care about how youâre doing and I want you to open up to me.â Her expression became hesitant as she shifted in her seat. âWeâre all busy and even though itâs common for you to go missing during meal times, seeing you like this now is making me worried about how youâre doing.â
(Y/N) kept quiet for a second, looking like she was mulling something over before picking up the object right in front of her. âDo you know what this is?âÂ
âAn abacus. Interesting that you have one.â he said.Â
âYeah.â she sighed. She moved her gaze from Curly to the plastic Polle statue in the corner of the room. âBefore I got on the Tulpar, they had given me all of the supplies I needed to fulfill my duties and do what they asked of me. I had met Swansea only briefly before so he could give me manuals and maps of the shipâs layout. I got the uniform, the steel-toed boots, notebooks, writing utensils, and a solar-powered calculator.â (Y/N) shook her head. âYouâd think that would be enough to prepare me to be here, but no . If only there was a way to have a bit of sunlight in outer space in a ship with no windows. They gave me something so crucial but useless out here. I had brought the abacus on board with me for sentimental reasons, but ironically enough itâs the only thing here that allows me to do my job.â She glanced back at him. âIâm not sure if you were aware, but Pony Express lied and said this was an internship for graduate students. Little did I know Iâd be thrown into something I wasnât going to have much guidance in. I needed a break from my PhD and even though the pay wasnât that great, I was desperate for some sort of escape from academia. I thought going to space would give me that, but every day I wake up is a constant reminder that Iâm so underqualified. Swansea is an expert with the mechanical side of the ship and heâs helped me a great deal, but the fluid mechanics and thermodynamics of it all are things he knows nothing about. So Iâm here, trying my best to play catch-up and praying that I figure out a solution so that this ship has enough fuel, enough air to last us an entire year, and that the Tulpar doesnât pop like a pressurized soda bottle while weâre out here.âÂ
â(Y/N)...â Curlyâs voice died at her name, shocked at this revelation and disappointed he somehow didnât know about her struggle sooner. âI had no idea what you were going through. You always seemed to have a grasp on your tasks and Swansea always praised the work you did, so I just assumed you werenât having a hard time adjusting. Have you told any of this to Anya during your evaluations?â
âNo⊠I really wanted to believe that I could do it and stick it out, and so far, thank God, Iâve just barely made it every time. I really wanted you and the rest of the crew to believe I was capable and worthy of being here.â He cautiously put a hand on her shoulder, testing the waters on how he should comfort her.Â
âYou are worthy of being here. The fact that weâve been having such a smooth trip with no complications so far makes that obvious. I really appreciate you opening up to me now. I want to do everything I can to make sure you arenât stressed about your work. You need to get rest and eat like the rest of us. Sure, none of us are a chemical engineering smarty pants like you, but you can always ask for help, even if itâs just for something like bringing you food or running errands around the ship.â He smiled at her, and she weakly reciprocated the gesture.
âIâll keep that in mind for next time. Thank you, Curly.â Too tired to remember formalities, (Y/N) let out a big yawn, much to his amusement.Â
âSo are you gonna go to bed?â He asked. She threw her head back and groaned in defeat, murmuring a âyesâ. âGood! I hope I get to see more of you around now that youâll be asking for help, yes?â
âYes, of course, Captain. Iâll see you tomorrow.â The both of them stood up, (Y/N) to head to her quarters and Curly to finally get his glass of water. Before completely leaving, she paused and turned back. âOh, and Captain?âÂ
âHmm?â He raised his head up to look at her again.
âI know you have a lot of responsibility on your shoulders looking after all of us. Please, rely on me too.â She smiled gently.
âGoodnight, (Y/N).â He called after her as she slipped through the door. He felt content that he was making good progress to gaining the trust of the crew member he knew the least. It always made him feel good to be the reliable captain he hoped everyone viewed him as. Having that conversation with (Y/N) made him a little more relaxed now that she had opened up to him for the first time.

Breathe It In
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Gender Neutral Reader
Warnings: None
Summary: Daryl takes you out on his bike for the first time.
A/N: Hope you enjoy! Thanks for reading!
âYâever rode one before?â Daryl asked.Â
You shook your head, attention running over the hot, glinting chrome and black metal. Every inch of the motorcycle was covered in dust but you knew it was an impressive piece of machinery, especially in Darylâs eyes. And it was big. Longer and taller than you ever really noticed, now that you were the one about to climb on top of it.Â
âNo,â you said to Daryl. âNever even seen one up close before you got this.âÂ
âYa donâ hafâta come with me. Once we git another car, we can-â
âNo, itâs fine. Iâve done scarier, right?â you said, thinking just of the past week and all youâd faced.Â
He gave a curt nod. Then he swung his leg over the motorcycle, the toe of his big boot finding the kickstarter immediately. His jeans hugged his body as he hiked his knee up unnaturally high before putting all his weight on the lever, slamming his leg down and starting the bike on the first try. He twisted one of the handles as the engine revved to life as he settled in the seat.Â
He looked at you, gaze cutting over his bare arm, thick with muscle. âIâll hold it steady. Foot rests are there,â he said, pointing low on the bike to the small pegs you would use. âThatâs the engine-â
âThatâs the engine? The whole thing is just⊠right there?âÂ
âWhere else would it be?â
You shot him a glare. âI donât know. Enclosed somewhere maybe.â
He huffed a laugh. It made his hair fall in his face, but you could see his blue eyes studying you as he continued his explanation.Â
âThe exhaust pipes are down there too- careful aâ those. They get hot.âÂ
âOkay, so butt goes there,â you said pointing, âfeet go there and donât touch anything else.â
ââCept me.â
You straightened, shooting your attention back to him. âHm?â
âGotta hold onta somethinâ. Come on, letâs go.â
You wondered if you had flushed as red as he did at his words. He was looking at his fingers wrapped around the handlebars, knuckles turning white, but you saw the pink wave crawling up his neck from his vest and landing around his ears.Â
âYeah, yeah, Iâm cominâ,â you said, sidling up to the bike. You tried to sound teasing, but you just sounded nervous. And it wasnât just the heavy machinery making adrenaline rush through you.
He held his hand out flat for you to grab and support yourself as you flung your leg over the side of the bike. The moment your bottom landed on the back of the seat, you felt Darylâs wide hand around your calf, moving one of your feet into place on the pegs. It was only then you realized there were only two foot pedestals for four feet. Youâd have to share.Â
Once heâd moved you into place, he tapped your knee, signaling you to stay put. A cold rush of air kissed the spot his hand had just kept warm.Â
Your legs pressed against the back of his body as you sat behind him, your feet on the outside of the pegs, while his thick boots stuck to the inside. Nearest to the hot exhaust pipes, you noticed. He was keeping you away from them.Â
âGood?â he asked.Â
âYeah, Iâm good.â
The motorcycle growled loudly at the will of his hand. Just a twist of his wrist and the bike was primed to speed off.Â
He turned his head, not quite looking at you, though even then you could see his smirk. âBetter hold on,â he said.Â
You took the back of his jacket in your hands, balling up the leather around his hips into your fingers. âKay,â you said, bracing yourself a bit.Â
His foot rocked and his fingers squeezed, releasing the clutch and picking the gear. He twisted the handlebars, revving the engine and making the bike shake under you. To you, it was just a lot of noise and practically unnoticeable movement. To someone with motorcycling experience, it was a warning of oncoming power and swiftness. But you had no idea.
Without warning, the bike jolted forward and sped off so quickly it almost left you alone in the dirt, your grip slipping from Darylâs jacket.Â
Before you could fall off though, you hugged close to Daryl, palms open and sprawled over his chest and belly in panic. After the initial shock, however, the bike was a smooth ride as it kicked up dry Georgia dust behind its tires. Thatâs when you realized Darylâs shaking and trembling wasnât from the rattling of the bike, but from his chuckles.Â
You heard his laugh even over the buzzing bike and rushing wind. It was a rare sound. Low, but free, like the rumble of an engine on a long, twisting summer road. In half mock, half true indignation, you lowered your hands to rest around his waist, meeting in the middle around his belt. Leaning up to his ear, you called to him.Â
âYouâre a real dick sometimes, Dixon!â
âToldâya ta hold on,â he answered, giving your clasped hands a pat.Â
âNo kidding.â
He shook again. Though this time you couldnât hear the soft chuckles that emanated from him, you knew they were there. You felt it. Just like you felt the affection radiating from him as he twisted his fingers in yours until they were interlinked.Â
Before the outbreak, you never would have ridden a motorcycle. They were too dangerous. In fact, the thought of even looking at a contraption like this one, something Daryl had practically made with his own hands, without a safety helmet would never have crossed your mind.Â
These days, things were different. Every day was a threat. But this, being with Daryl and sharing his pride and joy felt like the safest thing you could ever do. He was holding your hand and your arms circled him tight as you rode safely past anything questionable.Â
You laid your head on the back of his shoulder and breathed it in- the freedom, the safety, the gas smell on his jacket and the smoke in his hair and you closed your eyes. And you felt his hand squeeze yours as if he was doing the exact same.

hear me out hear me out Lilâ Pootis BLU Scout but with like a nice partner, someone whoâs like really nice and sweet and itâs a personality difference for the two but they get along so well!!
WOOO YOUR GIRL IS BACK!!!!!!! Iâve been so busy, but now Iâm slowly getting back to it. Donât guarantee anything ;3 this was such a cute ask!!
LIL POOTIS!BLU!SCOUT X A KIND READER
-Ok, so, Spy is definitely going to say to his son how he canât make fun of his marriage to Engineer because Scout just found someone who is the total opposite of him as well. You two are pretty much like Spy and Engineer, Scout just hates to admit it.
-You are a rock to Scout. Being on the Blu team is rough in the first place since theyâre on the short end of the stick and they get roughed up more than they win. Even if you are apart of this mess as a fellow mercenary, it is a shock how you managed to find a balance with your emotions. None of them have had a good day since they got assigned to payloads for the week, so youâre a good presence to have around. Always helping out, making jokes, distracting the others.Â
-Which is why they were shocked when you started dating the Scout. It wasnât an issue, you were on the same team. It was just a surprise to everyone else. Sure, you stood out in the cold with him when he was told to quit smoking indoors (though, him and Sniper still did on occasion), he gave you pointers on that rifle of yours and he was always asking where you were. But it didnât seem that serious. No one really cared, everyone does their own thing. Itâs still a shock though.Â
-Itâs best when you two are on the field together. He runs through the line of sight so you can sneak your way to the control point without even a cut. He doesnât ever want you to get needlessly hurt on the field, even though you are a trained killer. So, he just goes before you get the chance. He was always taught you look out for those you care about (Thanks Spy). If youâre quicker than him, he will just run past you. Either way, youâre not getting shot. You will respawn either way, but he does not care.Â
-Spy and Engineer are happy about your relationship. More Engineer than Spy. Del wants Scout to be closer with him, so he comes extra supportive. Even before you and Scout dated, Engie was always kind back to you. He is always waving at you with a smile after his entry shot the enemy Demoman. Spy will always remind Scout to treat your kindness back and to not take advantage of it. To always take you out to a nice place or buy you that thing you have been talking about as your birthday gets closer. Scout is not a very selfish guy, he has proven that to you before, though Spy worries.Â
-Speaking of, any time you two go out, Scout will assume you want to do something fancy. If there is anything his dad has taught him, itâs that you do overly romantic things. If you hate going out to eat or you donât have anything nice to wear, just tell him. Heâs fine with just going to the corner store and getting some snacks. At least, he cleans up well and owns at least 2 two-pieces. He hates slicking his hair back though because you can see how far back his hairline has become.
-If you tell him straightforwardly how handsome you think he is, he gets super cocky. Like the âI know, thank you.â kind of way. Especially if you compliment his form. He has been working out for a couple years since joining his dad, he knows the progress he has made and how in shape he is. You do not even have to tell him, he knows you do. But once in a while, he will do something stupid like do a pull up on a random, low hanging pipe in the hallway to   impress you. If youâre the type of person to go crazy with compliments, he looks like he does not care. That is until he canât help but smirk and say, âYouâre alright.â before laughing and giving you a kiss on your hand to apologize.Â
-By the way, he loves hand kisses. Not even in the romantic way. He will shake your hand limply and then kiss you with a big âMwah!â and start laughing at how cringe that was.
-Since the days rotate on who is going out on the missions, you two have days where you donât see each other. He will get home with his nose red and his clothes damp from the blowing, snowy winds outside and he just lays next to you on your shared bed, reading until you hug him at his side and kiss his shoulder. PDA isnât a big thing to him. I mean, youâre with him, arenât you? Everyone knows you two are in a established relationship that does not violate the Administratorâs rules, so why not show off a little? An arm will be wrapped around your back and the magazine on his lap.Â
-Sometimes, he likes the silence when he comes back into the base. Of course, you know this too. As previously mentioned in my other post with the Lil Pootis Scouts, Blu Scout likes to go to the boiler room where the heaters and generators lie to get some privacy and warm up. Itâs sort of hard to hide that you two cuddle in there, not that anyone goes there anyways, so eventually everyone found out. Though, if you are a girl, I would say Miss Pauling would allow you your own private room as a courtesy, so the others would only notice Scoutâs absence and assume he disappeared to have a smoke.Â
-If youâre a persistent person who will do anything for someone, you have absolutely gone outside with Scout while he was smoking. Spy has scolded him more than once, so now he has to make a habit of it. He hates when you come with him as he does not want you to get cold, but he knows you are stubborn. Itâs not the company he minds, rather that you are withstanding the cold and the smell of cigarettes to be with him. He thinks you are the most thoughtful person ever for even bringing his lighter that he forgot or brought him some hot chocolate. Often, the other mercenaries catch you two chatting by the water tunnel while you rambled on to Scout about your day.Â
Wafting against the cold, the flame kissed the tip of the cigarette and burned bright. The silver box shut at the pressure of your thumb and you put away his lighter. Grey puffs floated across the frozen air and danced with the deep shades of a painted blue and speckles of white. Your head against his falling shoulder. His hand at your right side, rubbing along your coat. He dragged his cigarette and blew away from you. Then he smiled. A soft smile that few could see. Sure, he was always smiling, but not like this. You are the person he wants to smile this way to. Because you are the person that melts him down, that makes him warm to the touch and wear down the usual tense. Overwhelmed, he did not like you when you first met as trainees. You would not last, he thought. You were too much. You did not shut up, you were too nice, you would be knocked before you could speak another word in no time. Sometimes, he looks back at his young self and wants smack him silly. Someone compassionate, someone who balanced out his mellow wanted to be his friend. Before he was good at what he did, before he got stronger and better at everything, you liked him.
Now, you are out in the cold with your shivering spine and twitching head. Eyes rolled and heâs off the boulder. It was freezing for you, you should warm up. But you had his lighter. And you kept your hands in your pockets. Unamused eyes looked at you as he prodded you to hand it over. You only backed up and smiled. He only got more demanding and he moved closer. You shook your head and giggled. A sigh comes from him. Then he pulls off his scarf and moves up to wrap it around.Â
Now you felt a little bad. Smoke blew again. He smirked. A hand on your chin and your lips on his. Something sweet, then bitter. Ash was not a pleasant taste. And he knew it.Â

Reader who was bullied when young and then jude and her go to her hometown and everyone freaks out cause that's freaking jude bellingham and they get like, impressed by reader success as an f1 engineer and that she bagged jude? Sorry its way too specific đ
THE RETURN | jude bellingham

summary: anon ask !! ^^
warnings: bullying
pairing: jude bellingham x fem!reader
a/n: this was so fun to make it â i hope you like it! i loved seeing judeâs gentle, yet assertive, protectiveness over reader come out.
it had been over a decade since she left her small hometown, a place that had always felt too confining. school had been a maze of awkward silences, cruel jokes, and a lingering sense of being invisible. back then, she was the quiet girl in the back of the classâtrying her hardest to avoid attention and desperately wanting to fit in but never quite succeeding. those memories had faded slowly as she built a new life in the city: a promising career in f1 engineering, accomplishments that filled her with pride, andâmost unexpectedlyâher relationship with jude bellingham, a relationship that had made her feel seen for the first time.
she hadnât planned on attending her high school reunion, but somehow, as time passed, she felt ready to confront her past. and she wasnât facing it aloneâjude, her supportive, gentle boyfriend, had insisted on coming with her. he knew how much the reunion meant to her.
as they neared the venue, her chest tightened. âyou sure youâre okay?â jude asked quietly, his brown eyes locked on hers with such deep concern, a flicker of empathy in his gaze.
she smiled faintly, though her heart fluttered in her chest. âyeah, just⊠nervous, i guess. itâs a bit overwhelming, coming back here.â the memories were almost too muchâyet she knew jude would be there to catch her if she fell. his warmth and confidence always soothed the anxieties she hadnât quite let go of.
judeâs hand found hers, gently giving it a squeeze. âyouâve got this. and hey, youâre not that same girl anymore. youâve got a life youâve built. youâve got me. so, whatever happens in thereâwe got this.â his smile was warm, steady.
she nodded, her heart calming a little under the strength of his reassuring presence. âthank you,â she whispered, feeling the gentleness of his support course through her.
when they entered the venue, the familiar buzz of voices was louder than she expected. the gymnasiumâthe place where she had always lingered by the edges of the crowdâhad been transformed for the reunion, but it still carried the same sense of nostalgia and unease. the noise didnât stop when they entered. no, it quickly escalated into murmurs, quickly followed by gasps and hushed conversation as her old classmates processed the sight of them.
âwait⊠is that jude bellingham?â she heard someone say under their breath, the tone an odd mix of surprise and disbelief. it wasnât like jude wasnât famous, but she couldnât quite suppress the sudden feeling of being under a spotlight, her past self suddenly being evaluated against this new version she had built.
âwait a minute, is thatââ another voice piped up, a bit louder. âsheâs with him? no way. this is crazy.â
suddenly, everything about the reunion felt too much, like she was back in high school for all the wrong reasonsâunder scrutiny, exposed to the gossipy whispers. but when she turned to jude, she found him completely unfazed, his face calm and reassuring. his hand gently curled around hers again, his fingers entwining with hers as he led her through the crowd.
âletâs take it easy. weâre here to have fun,â he murmured softly, as if to remind her there was no reason to worry, that the stares and whispers didnât matter. still, the tightness in her chest didnât fully ease as they made their way deeper into the hall. and then, of course, it happened.
nate. of course it was him.
she had seen him from a distanceâa face that would forever be linked to the teasing and mockery from her younger years. the smugness in his smile, the way he walked with that brash, confident air, brought it all flooding back. she couldnât help but bristle as he weaved his way through the crowd, his eyes landing on her with that unmistakable sneer she knew so well.
âwell, well, if it isnât the quiet girl who thought no one would notice her,â nate said, leaning forward with his arms crossed. his voice was louder than before, punctuated with that mocking laugh that still grated on her after all these years.
she squared her shoulders, meeting his gaze evenly, but her heart was pounding. she wanted to respondâreally respondâbut the memories of her high school self threatened to stifle her words.
âyouâve done well for yourself, huh?â nate continued, his eyes trailing over jude briefly before resting on her again, the smirk not leaving his lips. âdidnât expect you to end up with a guy like him. seems⊠out of place, donât you think?â he laughed again, as if sheâd just become the punchline of an old joke.
for a split second, her gut twisted in frustration and vulnerability. she had worked so hard to move past everything nate represented, but sometimes it was easy to feel like that quiet, unsure girl againâespecially with him standing there, grinning like she wasnât good enough.
but just before she could respond, jude moved, the energy shifting as he closed the distance between them. with effortless ease, he stepped forward, positioning himself just behind her. she felt the comforting heat of his body pressing against her back, and in that moment, a sudden wave of relief washed over her. his calm presence enveloped her like a blanket, his very proximity pushing away the anxiety.
judeâs hands found her waist gently, but firmly, resting there as he spoke in a soft, steady voice that carried a quiet but undeniable power.
âi think you need to remember something,â jude said evenly, not raising his voice, but letting his words hang in the air. his tone was firm, protective. âyou have no right to talk to her like that. sheâs amazing. and you donât get to undermine her. not on my watch.â
the crowd around them seemed to grow still. he didnât shout, didnât make a sceneâhe didnât need to. there was something almost effortless in the way jude claimed his position beside her. he wasnât just her boyfriend, trying to defend her for the sake of itâhe was a man who genuinely believed in her and made sure everyone around them knew it.
nate stood there, caught off guard, the confrontation falling to the ground between them. the smugness on his face faltered, and for a brief moment, the arrogance of his words evaporated. he shifted his weight, his shoulders tightening, before letting out a forced laugh.
âyeah, okay, man. whatever,â nate mumbled, avoiding judeâs unflinching gaze. with one final glance in her directionâless sure nowâhe turned on his heel, weaving through the crowd without another word.
as soon as he disappeared into the room, jude gently pulled her closer, his hands still resting on her hips as if grounding her in the moment. she turned, her eyes searching his for a trace of somethingâanythingâbut all she found was tenderness.
âare you alright?â jude asked, his voice low, full of concern, as he looked down at her. his brown eyes were warm, sincere.
she didnât answer right away, her throat too tight with emotion. but after a deep, shaky breath, she nodded, pressing her face against his chest. âyeah. i just⊠i forgot what that felt like, you know? having someone try to drag me back to that place.â
jude brushed a hand gently over her hair, kissing the top of her head, his voice a soothing whisper. âyou donât ever have to go back there, not while iâm here. youâre so much more than theyâll ever realize. and iâm not going anywhere.â
her breath hitched at his words, and as the sounds of the reunion picked up again in the background, she didnât feel the weight of the past anymore. jude had held her through the sting, had quietly and protectively shown her the strength she had long hidden. together, nothing seemed impossible.
his touch on her back was warm, steady. âletâs have a good time tonight, okay?â he murmured, pressing another soft kiss to her forehead.
she pulled back slightly, smiling softly as she looked up at him. âyeah,â she whispered, finding her voice again. âyeah, letâs.â
and with that, they walked forward together, facing whatever came next. this time, together.

Tf2 Mercs Weedequitte
Asks are open my little giggle biscuits!
Scout
He hands that joint back WET
Slobber dripping off the sides, the tips cold when you go to take a puff, and you can see the corner of his mouth glisten
If Scout ever got high he would have munchies and get scared. He would have to go outside and walk around, maybe even hug a tree for comfort
Coughing and gagging in the most annoying way possible. Like that one cat picture with its protruding tongue and watery eyes void of complex thought
Scout couldnât handle a bong. Just couldnât. Stick to a cold can of bang! He might try to make a bong outta a bang can, but he wonât figure it out
Soldier
Do not give him weed.
Do not give him anything.
Dont give him any drug hes insane nuts bonkers and, yes, even bananas
He took acid once by mistake. Ended up in Europe a year after the war ended
Soldier is borderline on a good day but king will spiral into a drug induced psychosis. There will be bugs, skin, and a whole lot of paperwork for Medic
Wouldnât even smoke heâs a total fucking narc too
Says devils lettuce
Demoman
Uses every weed euphemism known to man
Mary J is his fav. Kush, grass, gas, doubie, all of them
Approaches Sniper while the poor bastard making his trek between camper and civilization. Demo does an insinuating chuckle and says, âletâs make love to that wee lass Mary Jâ
Sniper starts running
He prefers drinking but this guy smoked some grass back in the day. Doesnât fuck around and can pass a blunt without falling out
In half baked, Demo is the guy who gets munchies and accidentally kills the horse
Will smoke with Sniper and always provides what he can or hits a curtesy role, but he doesnât pursue weed much and if snipes didnât share, probably wouldnât smoke
It does help the pain from his missing eye!
Pyro
One time, he got wild.
Pyro burned down an entire pot grow and was absolutely spazzing off that za rolling his way down the mountain
They were on the astral plane the entire hike down. Pyro crashed through the trees, crawled, laughed hysterically, cried, and vomited. Pyro drank water from a creek thinking it was the fountain of immortality
Pyro befrinded a squirrle named Banabo Jo. He knew Jo and knew his people were wise and brave. Banabo Jo recognized Pyroâs mystical capabilities and ability to see beyond, thus creating a mutual respect and brotherhood.
Banabo Jo guided Pyro from the mountain top and into the Heart of the Valley. He watched over as Pyro awaited rescue and gave the sacred squirrel farewell through the van window
(hypersensitive to drug induced psychosis)
Heavy
Rolls a blunt on Medicâs back and smokes it while they fuck
Smokes weed but only pipes. Very rarely will roll with paper, typically in the aforementioned situation
He can do some of the smoke tricks like puffing out Oâs. He cannot french inhale and tbh has a chronic stuffy nose đ
Medic
Wholeheartedly believe in and support the usage of medical marijuana
Smoked a little weed in university, but his classmates were too scared of him to invite him to the smoke sesh
He kinda gives off narc vibes!! Completely chill though, unless he could gain from blackmailing you
Asks if Sniper wants to puff and Sniper is shocked! Medic uses pompous words like oder tho and not the German oder
Arches his back so Heavy can sprinkle some flower on him for the roll-hole ritual
Engineer
Scene in Top Gun, âweâre in the spirit world asshole!â HIM OKAY HIM
Builds intricate and sick as fuck bong structures, dab rigs, and some real crazy stoner shit.
He love getting blazed and tinker with something, but that did cost him the tip of his pinkie finger
Heâs a lightweight and really just skims a hit or two and bounces
Totally hotboxes that fucking workshop
Spy
Heâs a classy kind of smoker
No weed inside, at least not his house. Very discreet about it and even if he was just in the worldâs foggiest hotbox, he would never snell like week
No weed smell ever itâs incredible
Mainly sticks to cigarettes but he will smoke with Sniper.
Smoking, whether it be weed or cigarettes, is a form of foreplay for them fr
He never has cotton mouth either
Sniper!!
Save the best for last bc he is a canon pothead
Sniper just tries to be a chill guy. Go to work, fire a gun, smoke some weed. Would he like more? Sure. But is he okay where heâs at? Good enough
The first to discover his gardening habit was Spy. The whole breaking and entering thing really gives away secrets
Sniper has SO MUCH TEA. Various team members come to him and smoke, which is cool with him. He prefers when they replenish his stash, though. Or at least give him something in return
When they smoke they also complain. Inhibitions are dropped and suddenly Sniper knows that Demo is pissed at Medic for not letting him drink rubbing alcohol, every though Demo knew it would kill him, because he and Pyro were trying to light a burp on fire
He only enjoys smoking with Spy and Ms. Pauling. Pauling is fun and they talk mad shit together, maybe do something stupid on a minor scale
Spy and Sniper venture into the bush if yk what im saying. Weed is just kinda a plus but Spy can get too zesty sometimes

class swapping winx and the specialists (+ trix)
currently brainrotting about an au where the girls are specialists and the boys are the magical ones.
specialist! Aisha:
the undisputed best fighter and leader
has a plasma weapon that can change forms â from a scimitar to a spear, from a spear to dual swords, etc.
is incredibly popular with the student body but could not be more unbothered by it
has ridden a dragon before (a rite of passage for all specialists), but prefers the company of the monsters of the deep ocean
specialist! Flora:
the pacifist <3
and is super jacked. as a treat. for me.
(just like in the og cartoon) Floraâs signature move is detaining/grappling her enemies, rather than explicitly harming them.
bolas is her weapon of choice:

but I can also see her using escrima sticks or a bo.
Saladin has a soft spot for Flora because she reminds him of Helia. He is also the one to introduce them to each other.
still as patient and kind with everyone as her og version, but more reserved/quiet. Flora is a bit of a mystery to her peers.
specialist! Stella:
the Red Fountain is THE nepo school of all time. all nobles worth their salt send their little trust fund cases there to get them a prestigious rank of a Specialist; no matter if their offsprings are actually suited for the lifestyle of a hero.
Stellaâs parents enrolled her in RF in order to rehabilitate her image as an irresponsible party girl/failure of an heir to the Solari throne.
Stella retaliated by not giving a damn about her education â she even had to repeat a year due to her skipping practices.
her behavior began to improve once she was assigned to the Winx and became inspired by their heroism/courage/honor.
but it took the girls almost getting killed saving Stellaâs ass on a mission, for her finally to start taking her training seriously.
her weapon of choice: a family relic â a sword.
Stella does become a proficient sword-fighter and a Specialist, being able to fend off a wyrm to save her fatherâs life (akin the scene where she gets her Enchantix in s3).
although controversy follows the blonde specialist, she earns sincere admiration of fellow Solarians for this act of heroism.
she chooses to pursue dragon-riding beyond the mandated RF course. the dragon that she bonds with is Synfire (wink wink).
specialist! Bloom:
in this AU, she is adopted by Hagen.
he teaches her the art of smithing magical weapons.
Bloom is less of a fighter and more of a tech/engineer. she creates magical artifacts/weapons for the girls, devises strategies and acts as their support.
she is also the healer of the group (or tries to be, this girl is still a clutz disaster)
Bloom is very idealistic, grown on legends foretold by Hagen and whatever remains of the Company of Light.
Bloom is probably equipped with top-notch weapons from head to toe, but always defaults to using whatever is laying around to defend herself. rusty pipes, bats, bricks, etc.
her dragon is a huge, scary and old thing everybody calls Fang. she calls him Kiko <3
specialist! Tecna:
loves to train in the simulation rooms.
actually a very good fighter: Tecna was taught her craft by the most rigorous Zenithian educational programs.
she mostly relies on her speed and agility in fighting.
her weapons of choice: tranquilliser guns and daggers.
devises strict exercise regiments for the rest of the girls.
Tecna stills handles any and all technology, but, unlike Timmy in the og cartoon, cannot stand being side-lined from battle.
a perfectionist.
specialist! Musa:
I see Musa as a ranged fighter, using guns & grenades & arrows.
sheâs a wild card. high risk, high reward battle strategies are her bread and butter.
she also pursues dragon-riding. her dragon is nicknamed Pearl, a fast and furious creature.
a menace, honestly.
the boys:
Sky is a fairy of wind currents (since⊠yâknow his name. but also because I like the irony of Sky having the ability to fly but yet feeling trapped and bound to his duties as a crown prince)
Riven is a witch of shadows/negative energy, like Darcy. heâs not evil though.
Brandon is a fairy of constructs. I picture his powers to be like the earth-benders from ATLA.
Timmy is the witch of technology.
Helia is a wizard, like his grandpops.
Nabu retains his powers but is a fairy instead of a warlock.
the Trix are fairies <3 theyâre still evil, but in a whole different way: instead of revelling in their villainy, they are convinced of their own self-righteousness and purity of ideals. they try to usurp power of the Great Dragon because they believe they can make for better rulers, forgetting, of course, that would just make them dictators.

I'm always thinking about how Gâ was an engineer. A damn good one: the sole engineer of the cryo project, good enough that of all the ten billion, the FTL project chose him to inspect their work, back when the project was still a pipe dream. He was a man from an immigrant family in an underprivileged area who became arguably the world's best engineer, which is impressive in its own right, but it gets me thinking... Pre-Resurrection, John says they can't grow food on Mars (and for all John's unreliability, that's pretty believable, given that the high perchlorate concentration in Martian soil is one of the big obstacles to carrying out a sustained Mars mission), and as silly as this might sound, the engineer and scientist divide is real, and of all the nerds that John resurrected, I can't imagine it was the artist or the contract lawyer or the medical and chemistry experts that made the Mars installation viable. Gideon made a House out of it, and one that accepts recruits from across the Dominican system! "Saint of Duty" is said to fit him, evident in his loyalty and commitment to the Cohort and fighting the Resurrection Beasts, but I have to wonder, how much of that was his commitment to making shit work? I can't shake the image of a couple million people awaking to a ruined world, and someone had to get the other Houses settled, figure out spacecraft and space habitats using what little supplies they have left, and what better candidate for that than the man who canonically engineered spacecraft twice?
ANON I love this so much. You're SO right, and you put into words something about G1deon and John's shared background that I've tried to articulate for a while. In the very first chapter, John says, "It wasnât that they didnât have the money for a bigger team; we were simply the only ones capable of what they were asking."
This was an incredibly elite team. They were a brilliant bunch of hyperspecialised nerds. And, like, among John's squad, A- and M- and everyone else started out as colleagues â very smart people he probably met in academic circles, where being smart was kind of a prerequisite. It was their research that brought them together to begin with.
G1deon, though! He was John's friend growing up. John knew his grandparents. They spotted each other spare changes for snacks!! Then John went on to Dilworth, then to university and then overseas, and G1deon had his own (probably different) academic path, and maybe they only stayed vaguely in touch, but when it was time to look for an engineer that could help them build spaceships constructed to provide life support to the whole of humanity for centuries â and G1deon was the guy for that.
The fact that two boys from similar underprivileged backgrounds individually made huge breakthroughs in their chosen fields, and got to work together on a project that was meant to save the world... I bet at the time it felt like a miraculous coincidence. I think they thought, if they'd made it that far, that they could do anything.
(yet another layer to the tragedy of what happened etc etc. G1deon torn between John and Pâ. John stopping G1deon's heart)
Thank you so much for all your thoughts about the Mars space installation, also â I wonder how long there was between Mars becoming the Second House (founded by G1deon! he and Pyrrha did the bulk of the work!) and the institution of the Third House, which doesn't have a named founder and might very well have been a shared project built on the blueprint of what G1deon set up. "the man who canonically engineered spacecraft twice" â my god I love this so much. It's G1deon emo hours today
#this ask PUNCHED ME IN THE GUTS ty for my life#g1deon#gideon the first#tlt thoughts#ntn#ask#anonymous#tlt#tlt meta#ONE THING though is that I don't think we're meant to interpret G1deon as being from an immigrant family but rather native#it's not spelled out in the books so it's all headcanons#but pasifika Gâ is where I'm at personally
