◬ ~ Avengers' Hobbies ~ ◬
Here are some hobbies and interests that I think the Avengers will have when I shift, including my own that I already have here. I will probably update this when I shift and we'll see if I'm right! Some of these are canon, but I'm throwing them in here for fun anyway.
Tumblr media
▲ Tony ~
△ Rubik's cube (and other little puzzles) - That brain of his must have mastered it in a day, so he probably does it mindlessly while he thinks.
△ Formula 1 - As seen in the MCU. But it's SO fitting for him, I just have to put that out there.
△ Concerts - He loves a good party and, based on his t-shirts, he seems to love music. I wouldn't be surprised if he just hangs out on the side of the stages because he's Tony Stark and can.
△ Design - He's made quite a few suits, so I can see him really getting into the creative aspect of things. This applies to all of his inventions too. They have to look as "cool" as he does, right?
▲ Rhodey ~
△ Reading - Give this man a newspaper or a biography or something, he'll be set.
△ Pool & Ping Pong - Somehow, someway, he's just way better at both of these than 94% of the population. And yes, he will definitely rub it in your face.
△ Piano - I feel like his mother or grandmother taught him how to play when he was young so it's a very sentimental talent of his.
▲ Peter ~
△ Photography - Obviously. That little stinker is too talented for his own good.
△ Tinkering in the Lab - Based on his enthusiasm in the MCU, I think he spends a lot of his time just messing around in the lab, even if he's alone, though of course he prefers to have company. He gets so excited when an idea of his works.
△ Quality Time - Like I mentioned, he likes company. He might be a little awkward sometimes, but I think that's what makes that time with people mean so much to him. It makes him happy to know that people want to hang out with him.
△ Slacklining - Hear me out. He uses his webs to create a makeshift slackline across buildings or whatever. Maybe he's on a stakeout and gets bored, I don't know, but he's damn good at it.
▲ Bruce ~
△ The Opera - As we saw in the MCU, he uses music to calm himself down. But I think he has a deeper connection and fascination with it than most may notice. There's something about the harmony between all of the instruments and voices that mesmerizes him. He could go on and on about it, and I can't wait to listen to him rant when I shift!
△ Scientific Research - If he's not the one doing the research, then he's reading all about it. He loves hearing other people's discoveries and he craves getting all the knowledge he can.
△ Meditation - With all of the Hulk nonsense, he got into it to help his anger. Maybe it works sometimes and doesn't other times. I don't know, but I think he has grown to love the process.
▲ Thor ~
△ History & Storytelling - As we know, he loves sharing stories of his own, but I think he also enjoys hearing them from others. He might one up them afterwards... Still, though. He really likes learning about makes people and places the way they are: their history and experiences.
△ Tests of Physical Strength - He has strength, a lot of it, and he likes to show it. He loves competitions between the Avengers (and winning). Even tug of war, he'll be there.
△ Singing - He sings in the shower. There's no way he doesn't. And he's actually quite good. For some reason, I feel like he might not do it in public much (unless he's drunk or joking around). Maybe it's an Asgardian culture thing.
▲ Scott ~
△ Scott is just excessively talented for no reason. He can learn any skill. It's actually kind infuriating. Anyway, I'll list a few.
△ Magic, Drums, Arts and Crafts, Card Games, Juggling, etc...
▲ Pietro ~
△ Sports - He's ridiculously athletic. He has mastered every sport. He probably doesn't even need his powers to be good at them. He's just a boss man like that. I do think his specialty is soccer (football, I know; I'm American, I'm sorry), as in I think he probably played it as a child and was obviously the best.
△ Wii Sports - He's unstoppable. No one can beat him. He has set impossibly high records. Still, he loves playing them so much.
△ Just Dance - Yeah, it's the same situation as the Wii. Those hips don't lie. Unfortunately, this means that it's very hard to convince people to play with him. He happily plays by himself, but of course it's more fun with other people.
▲ Wanda ~
△ Cooking - As seen in the MCU, but I'm so excited to taste her creations, are you kidding? I bet she finds all sorts of cute recipes on Pinterest too.
△ Ukulele - I remember seeing a guitar in her room in the Compound (Civil War I think?), but I think she started with a little ukulele! Maybe her parents bought her one for her birthday and she was devastated that she lost it during the incident we shall not name. She's such a sweetheart, I can't.
△ Crochet - She could probably crochet using her powers with her eyes closed. I also think she likes doing it to practice her control of her powers for precision purposes.
△ Jigsaw Puzzles - Just like I previously mentioned, I think she enjoys it for practicing her powers, but I also think she likes the peacefulness of it.
▲ Clint ~
△ Pool - Remember when I said that Rhodey is better at pool than 94% of the population? Yeah, Clint is the one person he can't beat. His aim is unearthly.
△ Harmonica - This guy will whip out a harmonica out of nowhere (one of his many pockets) and give the crew a nice little tune. He's quite skilled too. Name any song and he'll learn it for you in an hour.
△ Card Games - He may act nonchalant or like he doesn't really care about the game, but he will turn around and win with one incredible move and blow everyone's minds, then shrug like it was nothing. That brain is bigger than we give him credit for, I'm calling it right now.
△ Surfing - He just has that vibe. Not the stereotypical surfer dude, but a guy who will casually surf a forty-foot wave after he finishes a mission in Fiji or something. He's cool like that.
▲ Nat ~
△ Ballet - Despite all the trauma associated with it, I think she still has a soft spot for dancing. It was such a major part of her life for so long, so maybe she does it to heal her inner child.
△ Yoga - She has to stay flexible somehow, right? Also, I think she'd enjoy doing it to calm down after a mission or when she's stressed.
△ Aerial Silks - Speaking of flexibility... Same goes for this! She does all sorts of cool tricks too.
△ Hair - Her hairstyle changed like every movie, who has time to go to a hairdresser when you're a super spy? That lovely lady learned to cut and dye it herself, and I'm sure she'd happily do it for others if they ask. (*Nat and Steve will be together in my DR and I bet she cuts his every time!)
▲ Steve ~
△ Drawing - As seen in the MCU. He definitely doodles during meetings.
△ Calligraphy - Writing in cursive was way more common and just what everyone did. So, due to his physical limitations, I think he probably spent a lot of time practicing his penmanship and perfecting its art form, especially while he was sick. Drawing and writing were two of his major pastimes.
△ Running - Since he kind of couldn't, or rather, couldn't to the average extent or the extent he wanted to, he takes advantage of his abilities now. He loves the rush too. Can't relate, but go you, Steve!
△ Museums - He likes catching up on what he missed, but also enjoys the stories the world holds. He has always like history, so learning everything about the past seventy years and the rest of time keeps him busy.
▲ Sam ~
△ Cooking - As seen in TFATWS. But I also think he loves food and is totally a food critic, so obviously he wants to have the best cuisine on deck whenever he wants.
△ Psychology - Since he was a counselor for veterans, I think psychology interests him a lot more than some think. He may be a goof, but there's some wisdom inside him too.
△ Chatting - It's his favorite thing to do. He could talk for days straight. He loves it so, so much.
△ Board Games - He might get a little distracted during card games, thanks to the chatting, but if a board game is pulled out, he is completely invested. There's something about the map-like structure that makes his brain spark.
▲ Bucky ~
△ Reading - As seen in TFATWS. He loves a good fantasy book to take his mind to a different, sometimes better place.
△ Welding - He would be so good at this. I don't he did this exactly on Sam's parents' boat, but I'm sure he has the mechanical experience.
△ Repairs - As seen in TFATWS. I think he really likes fixing things, having the control to make something right and doing it, even if it's something small like a leaking faucet. It makes him feel helpful.
△ Gardening - Hear me out, stay with me. Imagine how much love and effort he would put into a couple plants, even if they're just houseplants. That nurturing side of him that he showed to Steve in the forties must still be in there. He wants to nurture something (and someone, aka me lol) in the way no one did for him when he was a slave for HYDRA. And once he masters it, he's damn good at it.
△ Games - As seen in TFATWS. There's playfulness in him past the brooding.
▲ Me ~
△ Abstract painting - I've been painting for a few years now and I love it! I just play some music and zone out, letting the paint take me away... I'm excited to make some art for people's birthdays and whatnot when I shift, just like I do here!
△ Baking - I definitely prefer baking over cooking. Give me a recipe and I can make anything. Plus, I have a major sweet tooth. My CR mom tells me that baking is my love language and she's not wrong.
△ Writing - Creative writing is my passion! I have so many possible book ideas, we'll see if I actually write any of them someday. I certainly want to!

Do you have any hcs for how Eros might show up in the Eternals movie/what role he might play?
Thanos and Eros have always had a rocky relationship and since the MCU has changed a lot of the origins of Titan and Thanos all together I kinda came up with a few ideas.
If they were going to bring in Eros at all, you'd think he would appear in Eternals or even Dr. Strange but thats asking for a lot since he's a character not everyone knows/expects. The movie he would most likely show up in would be Gotg movie.
When Thanos pointed out the overpopulation of Titan to its people and everyone thinking he was bad shit crazy, I think Eros would silently listen to him or heed his warning. And maybe when Eros actually saw what Thanos said come true he might have tried talking to A'lars. When that obviously failed I think thats when Eros desides to save himself and leave the planet.
Thats when he shows up if Gotg3? Ive heard all kinds of rumors for that movie like the High Evolutionary appearing. And we may finally get Adam Warlock. It would be a perfect time for him to appear especially when Starlins "Thanos: The Infinity" comic series recently came out in the last few years. Eros trying to work with Adam and Pip was an entertaining read.
It would be a perfect tim for Eros (and Nova) to make their appearence, even more so with the multiverse now. There could be a Thanos or two roaming around to give us the Adam and Thanos duo group to.
And thats the headcanon i have that makes the most sense!

For writing prompts, any sort of MCU historical AU? :)
This is about three prompts rolled into one - I promised someone more 1870s Marvel ages ago, so - here we are!
Tumblr media
“What did you think was going to happen?”
Sam took a long sip of his whiskey and sat back in his chair; he and Steve were sitting in Sam’s rented room, an extremely modest concern on the poorer side of town - the only sort of place that would rent to ‘his kind’, and which only looked partially askance when a white man came to the door, hat and bottle in hand, asking politely to speak with Lieutenant Wilson. The whiskey had been his gift, an old and fine year that was doing a number on Sam but which did not seem to be touching Steve at all. They were talking about choices - about how Sam had joined the cavalry, and how he’d taken the job with the Freedman’s bureau after being invalided out, and slowly they’d walked the questions around to Steve.
“Honestly, I’m not…not sure,” Steve admitted, poking the fire with the iron and stirring up the coals a little. “I don’t remember that - only that I knew that I wanted to help my country. But every recruiting sergeant I spoke to took one look at me and told me to go home to my mother - that one crooked-eyed, malnourished, underweight scarecrow from York City wasn’t going to be much use to anyone.  Desperate though they were for troops, no one in the Army would have me. Until this…this funny little German came asking what I thought about…what I would do, in a war with so many big men in it. And when Dr. Erskine offered me a chance to be of use, I didn’t give the 'how’ of it much thought.”
“So?” Sam sat up a little, reaching only a little unsteadily for the bottle to refill his glass.
“So what?”
“So how does a - what’d you say, a malnourished scarecrow - turn into…” He gestured to Steve’s tall and now extremely well built frame.
“Magic,” Steve said promptly. “Science. Who knows? It seemed like both. Dr. Erskine with his potions and pills and Howard Stark with his devices from Dr. Franklin and his keys and kites and machines. They laid me out in a copper coffin and when I rose out of it, the old Stephen Rogers was dead, and someone else was in his place. Someone who could shoot the eye off a squirrel at a hundred yards, swim Long Island Sound and run from one end of Manhattan to the other without pausing. And a good two feet taller besides. Someone Washington could use.”
Sam nodded, another question dancing, fresh and fiendish, in his brain. “And the woman in that painting in your pocket?"
Steve paused, as if he were just now remembering the miniature - he pulled it forth, the ribbon just a little faded, the surface of the painting still as bright as the day it had been laid down - her dark hair, piled high in the style of the day, a single curl down her neck, her laughing eyes, her mysterious smile. A woman men could underestimate - to their peril. He undid the knot on the ribbon that attached it to his button hole and passed it to Sam, who took it like a holy artifact.
Guess this means the Widow Roman’s not your style, he mused, thinking of the stately redhead who’d greeted them the other day at the SHIELD office.
"Margaret Carter,” Steve offered. “An intelligencer in Washington’s service - a secret agent. She carried letters - carried numbers and names, of ships and soldiers and guns. Charm you as sure as look at you - and the best shot I ever saw. Could take the pip out of card at any distance you could name - with a flintlock pistol, not one of your rifles. They said John Andre wanted her and settled for Peggy Shippen - and she was reckoned the prettiest girl in Philidelphia, then. Born in England, but her heart was…was here. ” Steve stroked the miniature, his mind obviously far away.
Sam passed the miniature back and watching Steve gently tie it back in place. So she was someone to you, then. “I didn’t have anything to give up, when Erskine asked,” Steve continued, his hand still lingering over the pocket with the picture. “That all came later. And I didn’t…didn’t realize what I’d miss when it was gone.”
Sam could make no quip for that, and the two men sat in silence, finishing the whiskey and watching the logs burn down to embers, considering how the world changes.

My MCU Phase 4 Wishlist
Tumblr media
So, over a decade and 23 fucking films later an era of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe has finally concluded with “Spider-man: Far From Home” premiering last week.
It’s still staggering just how robust this franchise is considering in just eleven years’ time it already has amassed nearly as many films as the James Bond franchise and is arguably a more bankable series at this point than “Star Wars.” Though it’s not a perfect series by any stretch its success is nonetheless tied to its consistent, often magnetic charm and grand action set pieces and Phase 3 showed that it was even capable of some complex and nuanced growth. The third phase tackled deeper more emotional issues for our favorite super heroes while also giving many of its directors more free reign to do as they please with their scripts. Not always perfectly but it was more often than not hugely successful at reaching audiences on a personal level.
Tumblr media
(Sometimes with mixed results...)
But as much as “Endgame” was a near perfect sendoff for this franchise, The Mouse isn’t done by any stretch with churning these films out seemingly until the end of time, so with that mind where should Disney go from here since it looks like the franchise will continue on indefinitely?
There’s a lot of ways to envision success for the MCU, and some wheels are already in motion between next year’s “Eternals” and Disney+’s streaming MCU shows but what would it really take for this series to get to the next level? Well this writer has some ideas and is more than happy to share a few of them.
Make the Villains More Prominent (and stop killing them off!)
Less so in Phase 3 but consistently throughout most of the series has been a total lack in quality villain performances and story-telling. Whether they are generic mustache-twirlers, essentially dark mirrors of the hero or just plain half-baked characters, the MCU has really done a disservice to its robust catalogue of rogues by often wasting the talents of great actors and actresses all to just check a box in a super hero script.
And on top of that they are consistently dead by the end of each film giving them no chance for growth in a sequel. I mean it’s not like we haven’t seen that work before right?
Tumblr media
(Case in point)
For phase 4, especially in the wake of two thirds of the Marvel’s Holy Trinity out of the picture, villains should take center stage now more than ever. The heroes of this newer, younger and developing Avengers are probably not ready for the responsibility of protecting the world and the universe as evidenced by the near catastrophic mess Spider-man commits in “Far From Home” and to have the villains of this next phase take advantage of that would be a smart move.
These villains need to be prominent, larger than life and command a nuance to them that much of the older films did not have. A character like Norman Osborn for instance could step in to fill the power vacuum left behind by Stark’s shadow as the new tech futurist of Earth but of course without the responsibility and good intentions of Iron Man. Doctor Doom could be a counter to Black Panther’s Wakanda as a polar opposite of nations in Latveria. And bringing on a character like Mephisto could further expand the mystical side of the MCU that started to be explored in “Dr. Strange.”
Tumblr media
(But seriously, Marvel Studios, if I don’t get Toby Stephens as Norman Osborn I will riot...)
Either way, these villains need to carry on for more than one film for a change. Only Thanos, Vulture and Loki have managed to get past their first movies but if Phase 4 is going to be more distinctive it needs to have these villains come together in some way, perhaps even a *gasp* team-up! Having the villains form a super team to fight a younger more inexperienced Avengers could provide for some great drama and welcome change to the usual “fight an army of nameless goons, aliens and/or robots” of the previous era.
In any case, Kevin Feige and The Mouse need to have their sights set on truly developing these villains beyond just simple one-offs and into fully fleshed out characters that can continue to be trouble for our heroes across the series.
Expand the Cosmic Spectrum of the MCU
The MCU is a science fiction series, if that didn’t already occur to you before, what with it’s iron-suited heroes, super soldiers and in these last two phases space aliens. With the latter the next phase really needs to lean into this and all its possibilities.
There’s a wealth of characters and worlds to explore on the cosmic level of Marvel Comics that not just the Guardians of the Galaxy can be a part of and Disney would be smart to bring even more properties into this real estate of the MCU.
It should namely start with Adam Warlock who was teased in the mid-credits scene of “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.” Warlock has long been a favorite character of mind, dating back to reading my dad’s old copies of the Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity Watch. He’s a charismatic character who effectively blends both the cosmic and mystical side of the Marvel Universe together that can lead to a wealth of possibilities across the new MCU. Who should play him is purely subjective at this point but I can tell you right now Zach Efron isn’t even my fourth choice on that particular ladder.
Tumblr media
(Maaaaaybe?)
With the Fox deal, Disney also has the option to bring Silver Surfer and Galactus into the mix which they absolutely should at some point. Beta Ray Bill is also said to be making his debut in “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3” who can take over for Thor as Chris Hemsworth will eventually move on from the franchise at some point. Guardians will eventually need to retire too of course which opens up the possibility for the Infinity Watch with characters like Moon Dragon, Maxam and Pip the Troll and don’t tell me any of them wouldn’t work on the big screen. If Rocket Racoon can be a fan favorite Moon Dragon, Pip and Maxam can definitely make it too.
Either way the Marvel Universe is big fucking place and Disney would be dumb to not explore more of it for future franchises.
 Make better Original Scores
Johan Goransson’s Oscar win for Best Original Score for his work on “Black Panther” was a watershed moment for this franchise because it showed how super hero music can still be relevant. Imagine Christopher Reeve’s “Superman” without John Williams theme music or Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” without Hans Zimmer’s prominent percussion echoing the legend of Batman. Its not nearly as memorable and I feel the MCU has largely short-changed itself by not putting a higher emphasis on original scores during its decade-long run.
Tumblr media
(*Bwaaaaaam BWAAAAAAAAAMMMM* I can hear this gif)
Phase 3 has definitely done a better job with this of course, Michael Giacchino’s work on Spider-man is solid, Alan Silvestri’s return to Avengers especially the “Portals” scene is epic as hell and again Goransson’s score is part of the reason we knew exactly what was coming next when Cap said “I know somewhere” before we even saw an image of Wakanda. But Phase 4, in my opinion, needs to make this more important as we introduce new characters.
Music has a way of echoing memories and ideas that we’ll immediately associate with an event or in this case a character and with the MCU heading into uncharted territory with what’s looks like even more unique characters, adding memorable music will help audiences identify with them. A catchy tune can go a long way to making a good scene greater just ask the binary sunset in “A New Hope” and it can make a character truly standout.
Imagine the next Avenger’s films if you will as all these new heroes come together on screen all their theme music coming together to culminate in one epic version of the Avengers suite. It will be glorious if done right and the MCU needs to make this happen with inventive composers and film scores in Phase 4.
Save the X-Men for Phase 5
I know with the Fox deal and the whimpering flameout of “Dark Phoenix” fans are clamoring to see what Disney and Marvel Studios can do to bring in everyone’s favorite team of mutants but I say “hold up.”
As much as I would love to see a (hopefully) more faithful rendition of the X-Men I think we need a breather from Professor X, Cyclops, Beast and especially Wolverine. The X-Men franchise has been going on for over two decades and as much as we would all like to see these mutants get some much needed redemption after “Apocalypse” and “Dark Phoenix” I think general audiences need a breather. Yes, The MCU brought in Spider-man barely two years after the “Amazing” franchise which flamed out badly as well but Spider-man, even by its franchise standards, had a considerably smaller catalogue left behind when he made his debut in “Civil War.”
I think teasing the reappearance of the X-Men in Phase 4 is probably fine. Maybe dropping clues on the existence of mutants, maybe mentioning an alternate universe they come from because chances are their backstory will be retconned but either way the X-Men should be left on the backburner for Phase 4.
Tumblr media
(Deadpool though? Keep’em coming.)
Make Phase 5 all about the emergence of mutants, build them up as a great new team for the MCU and perhaps even pit them against the Avengers down the road. Either way, let the X-Men have a break for now. They need it after what Fox did to them.
 Bring in Diverse New Heroes
Oh, here comes that dreaded word that makes the slimiest denizens of the internet overreact and proclaim they’re not the “oversensitive” ones (in all CAPs of course).
The MCU had its fun with its main cast of primarily white Marvel staples over the past decade and if they’re going to show that they have new ideas and new stories to tell it should begin by bringing in browner heroes.
“Black Panther” was largely a breath of fresh air for the franchise because it told a very personal and relatable story to the society we live, primarily on the struggles of being a minority. The story wasn’t a simple good vs evil tale or nonspecific theme about family and love but of something deeply wrong in the world and it’s the reason it resonated as much it did.
The MCU is already making way for its first Asian American hero in Shang Chi, which is a good start but it shouldn’t end there either. Diverse heroes should be its next flagship for the new era of the MCU. Bring in Amadeus Cho, Ms. Marvel, and hell start teasing Miles Morales.
Tumblr media
(And don’t give me that bullshit that black Spider-man can’t appeal to mass audiences...)
I can already hear the idiots shouting at the screen right now about “white erasure” or some other bull shit about reverse racism and/or forced diversity. First of all, these people would bitch about diversity no matter what way it was brought in. If a hero is turned from white to brown it’s “Why can’t they bring in a new brown hero?” If they bring in a new brown hero it’s “Why are they bringing in a new brown hero? No one cares.” And if people do care it’s “Forced diversity.” All I have to say to you people is you keep shifting around the goal posts so much to the point that it makes me wonder what you are actually angry about?
Tumblr media
The MCU needs brand new blood and given that it again made a talking Raccoon a fan favorite there’s nothing that tells me this is a bad time to bring in more brown heroes from Marvel’s lesser known catalog. It isn’t that I or even other minority fans hate white heroes (I wrote an entire article on how much I love the MCU’s Captain America afterall) but for the sake of showing that these diverse heroes matter and giving them a chance to shine on the big screen this is needed. It wasn’t long ago that barely anybody knew who Black Panther was, now you have folks throwing up “Wakanda Forever” signs on their Instagram and social media and reading his graphic novels. So, open your mind up a bit and stop being a child about “forced diversity.” Thor was still epic as hell when he brought down Storm Breaker in “Infinity War,” Captain America still inspires patriotism in even the most cynical of souls and Iron Man saved the universe with a snap of his fingers. Your white heroes (and fragility) stories will survive a little spice in this franchise.
How the MCU truly proceeds from here will be interesting. There are already projects in motion of course and fans should probably be excited for it regardless of what I have written here but I do truly hope a lot of these happen in Phase 4. Marvel needs better more consistent villains going forward, the cosmic side of the comics deserves more exploration, better soundtracks will make these movies better, the X-Men need a break, and after 23 movies we could stand add a few more brown people to the mix.
Hopefully The Mouse is listening…

~*~just some avengers 4 predictions~*~ SPOILERS FOR IW OBVIOUSLY:
so, most of the plot of IW is cribbed from the Infinity Gauntlet comics arc, in which, after Thanos kills half the universe, the spirit of Adam Warlock (who was wielder of the Soul Gem & wore it on his forehead) uses his control over the soul gem to exit the ‘soul world’ (comics!!) back to the world of the living, along with the spirits of Gamora and uhhh Pip the Troll, and leads a bunch of heroes against Thanos
safe to say they probs won’t stick to all that, but it’s a possible way for either Gamora (bonded to the Soul Gem) or Vision (wielded the Mind Gem on his forehead) or both to come back, given that they both died by means other than gauntlet-induced rapture
I’m thinking Carol will get that leadership position that Adam has, because I don’t see them introducing him this late into the game (edit: i totally forgot his cameo in GOTG2 but they never built on it in any of the post-credits after GOTG2 so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Nebula was one of the survivors at the end of IW, just like in the comics, where at some point after Thanos beats everyone he ascends his ~mortal form to become a god~, leaving Nebula free to steal the gauntlet from his physical body, natch
Nebula then tries to conquer the universe after that and the heroes team up with Thanos to beat her, but she does undo all the death & destruction Thanos did with the gauntlet. they will probably not do that shit, but it does give us the template of someone using the gauntlet to undo Thanos’ actions + someone being tempted by the power of the gauntlet
in IW, benadryl chupacabra Dr Strange purposefully gives the Time Gem to Thanos, so the assembly of the gauntlet is a crucial part of the one scenario where the Avengers are able to beat him
specifically, he gives up the gem to save Tony’s life, which makes it likely that Tony is also a crucial part of that one scenario
I am willing to bet 5 (five) dollars that Tony wields the gauntlet in the next movie
there’s precedent for it in the comics, notably in Avengers Vol 4 #12, where he contemplates using it to make a world without conflict (Adam Warlock had a similar plan for it in the aftermath of Infinity Gauntlet when he became the wielder). ultimately Tony decides to just use the gauntlet to put the bad guy in jail and will the gauntlet out of existence
okay, rather, Tony only pretends to do that because he’s afraid of the collateral damage of doing something that monumental, but it’s a really neat resolution for the gems in the MCU if they go with it, clearing the slate for a new studio-wide storyline post-Avengers 4. perhaps they’ll have it as a viable course of action but with negative repercussions for the wielder, i.e. they will also be willed out of existence
which is the sort of big, heroic self-sacrifice that either MCU Steve or Tony can go out on
probably Tony, because they can do a lot with his character wrestling with the moral dilemma of becoming god & using the gauntlet for good first, with Steve pulling him back from the brink (admittedly more of a wish than a prediction)
are they really making us wait a year for this??? what the fuck

Peter Dinklage: Who is He in Avengers Infinity War
Tumblr media
Or is this a Marvel-Game of Thrones crossover? WAY back in October 2014, Marvel announced the most awaited film of this year, Avengers: Infinity War (Part 1), which originally was set to show on May of 2018, but due to Marvel’s generosity to its devoted fans or some other business strategy, they moved it April 25. This movie is very highly anticipated because it features a wide roster of our favorite Marvel superheroes originating from different solo movies such as the Avengers, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and more coming together to defeat one big baddie, Thanos. With Marvel Entertainment’s official YouTube channel releasing clips and trailers of the film, who would not get hyped over this? Due to how big this story arc is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or better known from the dedicated fans as the MCU, there would be a lot of people involved in this. Although the Infinity War was supposed to be separated into two films, Marvel had decided that they will no longer be two parts of the same story, but instead be very different stories from one another. Nevertheless, the production and the cast are still huge. The fans have many speculations and theories about the movie. However, there is one thing that caught everyone’s eyes when Marvel released the film’s promotional poster. Amidst the shining armor of Iron Man, the awesomeness of The Guardians of the Galaxy, the perpetually fabulous and glimmering hair of Thor, and the ripped green muscles of the Hulk, Peter Dinklage, most notably known for as Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, appears as one of the cast of the film, which begs the question: what does he play in Infinity War? Here are some of the speculations from all over the web.

WARNING: potential major spoilers as this talks about the comics. Viewer discretion is advice. You have been warned. Corvus Glaive
Tumblr media
Many fans speculate that he will be playing as Corvus Glaive, a member of the Black Order and an underling of the mighty Thanos. Do note however that this speculation has already been debunked since Joe Russo, one of the directors of the film, revealed that writer Michael Shaw is playing the role instead just recently. However, this still warrants a mention for the uninformed. Yes, Peter Dinklage does not play this role. Shall we move on to the next speculation? MODOK “How come MODOK (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) comes into the fray of the Infinity War?”
Tumblr media
Yes, this speculation is a bit farfetched, as AIM (Advanced Idea Mechanics), the organization MODOK is part in, was only mentioned in Iron Man 3 since the main villain of the film, Aldrich Killian, was the founder of the evil organization. However, this speculation came into fruition when considering co-writer Christopher Markus had always the idea of putting the villain since “Captain America: The First Avenger” to be played by none other than Peter Dinklage himself. Thus, there is a small glimmer of hope from the fans of the mad super genius that we could get to see him be introduced in the MCU starting in the Infinity War. In the comics, MODOK was originally a technician by the name of George Tarleton who joined AIM and was then experimented on which turned out to have gone wrong. With his body mutated and deformed, yet his mind expanding to an extent of a super genius making his head literally huge, he had to ride a mechanized floating ride and has then on became one of the thinking machines of the organization whose goals are radical, which considers them to be villains. Eitri Even some of the hardcore fans may not even know this dwarf. Eitri is the King of the Dwarves of Nidavellir, one of the nine worlds of Norse mythology. He is an important character in the sense that he, along with other master forgers and smiths, made Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, as ordered by Odin through trapping the God Tempest into the hammer, harnessing its power in the process. He is a master forger of over a thousand years old, capable of harnessing the Sun’s heat to make Mjolnir.
Tumblr media
Eitri could come into play in the film in case there would be problems with the Infinity Gauntlet, as he could be one of the key players in dealing with the said tool, or in case Thor would want to know information about the origins of the Infinity Gauntlet. After all, it was never mentioned before, so there is a high possibility that its origins will be explained here, and Eitri could be in that explanation. Pip the Troll Pip the Troll could play an important role in Infinity War due to his role in the battle with Magus, Adam Warlock’s evil alternate. Adam Warlock, in the comics, is an artificial human supposedly to be the perfect embodiment of the species, originally called as Him, but ultimately rebelled against his creators and travelled to space. However, in the film, it appears to be that Adam Warlock was created by Ayesha, the golden leader of the Sovereign in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and was shown during the end credits of the film.
Tumblr media
Although Adam himself will not appear in the Infinity War despite him being a major role in defeating Thanos in the comics, Pip the Troll could be introduced here as before they met Adam. Pip the Troll is an alien of Earth, being born in Laxidazia, who turned into a troll due to some heavy drinking with them. He was supposedly a slave of Magus but with Adam Warlock, broke through. Basically, Adam Warlock is the person who gets to manage the Infinity Stones and the Infinity Gauntlet after defeating Thanos, and Pip the Troll is his sidekick. Yes, there are a lot of speculations to who he really is. He could be playing as Dr. Bolivar Trask, his role and the villain in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. After all, it could be possible since Disney bought Fox, who owns X-Men. Dinklage could also play a new character. Who knows? Might as well just wait and see for ourselves. Who do you think Peter Dinklage might be? Read the full article

◬ ~ The Sphinx ~ ◬
This is who I become in my MCU DR! I did research on the Greek myth of the sphinx, but changed some things, so I'm aware that it's not perfectly correct :)
Tumblr media
▲ The what now? ~
△ The Sphinx is a mythical creature whose spirit bonds with women chosen by fate to protect a person, group of people, place, or thing. There have been 16 Sphinxes before me, and I will be the 17th. The first, Phix, guarded the city of Thebes, as told in the Greek myth, though her story was bent and twisted over time, depicting her as a monster. My destiny as the Sphinx is to protect Bucky and his mind, and I will be helping him with most of his healing after the process in begun in Wakanda.
△ The Book of Phix is a record of all of the previous Sphinxes' experiences and insight. Each of them had the book to write whatever they felt was important for the next Sphinx to know. Due to its magical properties, only a Sphinx can read the contents and write in it. One of the Sphinxes was chosen to protect the Masters of the Mystic Arts, so when she passed, they agreed to protect the book during the years between Sphinxes. The Sorcerer Supreme delivers the book once the next rises, meaning that on the evening of my shift - my first day aware of that reality - Doctor Strange will make a portal to the Avengers Compound, introduce himself as the new Sorcerer Supreme, and give me the book, which will help me, SHIELD, and the other Avengers understand what I'm capable of and what my future may hold. He will also tell me that it is imperative that I gain control of my powers and figure out what I am meant to protect and as soon as possible.
△ When a Sphinx is chosen and bonded, her memories and her previous existence are basically erased. Her knowledge remains and even grows exponentially. However, in order to help her focus on her destiny as a guardian, her life must start again with her mission.
△ "Sphinx" will be my alias, though the public will not know of my existence. Any aid to The Avengers or SHIELD will be psychological, not physical, unless it's absolutely necessary, like interrogations, reconnaissance, strategy, and so on. I'm not really a fan of fights or conflict, so... yeah.
▲ Powers ~
(Time to be overpowered as fuck just for fun!)
◬ When using my powers, my eyes glow green
△ Physically enhanced (strength, speed, flexibility, etc.)
△ Enhanced senses & night vision
△ Healing factor
△ Combat expertise & stealth
△ Retractable fangs, claws, and wings (yes, I wanna fly, who doesn't?)
△ Always land on feet (like a cat lol)
△ I don't know what to call it, but my eyes can give the effect of a flash bomb and temporarily blind someone
△ Sonic scream
△ Empathy and emotion influence
△ Hypnosis & persuasion
△ Memory reading
△ Mind shield (no one can read or enter my mind; I can extend this ability to other people too)
△ Omnilingualism (understand and speak all languages)
△ Riddle knowledge
△ Empathic energy conversion (use my or others' emotions to create energy blasts or shields; appears green)
△ Sphinx council (very similar to Black Panther - if I meditate, I can speak to the previous Sphinxes in a realm in my mind, or they can summon me; my physical body just looks like I'm zoning out)
▲ Power Limitations ~
△ If I'm using my powers on someone else, I need to make eye contact.
△ If I use my powers too much, I need to eat something sugary to help me "recharge" (I have a sweet tooth and I'm not sorry).
▲ Permanent Physique Differences ~
△ Pointed ears
△ Vertical-slit pupils (like a cat)
△ Infertility and no menstruation!

◬ ~ A Hop, Skip, and a Jump ~ ◬
The backstory of The Sphinx! How did she get those claws and wings? (I 💚 my MCU DR)
Tumblr media
▲ My story ~
△ It all begins with a man named Bill Johnson. He studied ancient history for many years until he became a curator for a museum in his home town in New Mexico. He was obsessed with mythology and ancient relics, and his obsession only grew when the museum shut down due to the costs of keeping the business afloat and the lack of customers. Bill was furious and devastated until rumors the Mighty Thor being on Earth spread in 2011, just a few months after. He couldn't believe it at first, but that disbelief quickly vanished in 2012 when The Avengers formed to battle aliens in New York. Bill took this as his sign to get powers of his own. If the myth of Thor was true, then there had to be other true myths and magic within his reach. Due to his intense studies, he knew almost everything there was to know about mythology and in which museums the most spectacular artifacts and relics were kept throughout the world. So, he began to travel everywhere he could, stealing them and testing them, desperate to attain some sort of mystical abilities.
△ Bill's thievery continued until November 2016, when SHIELD caught up to him and sent a few Avengers to bring him in. He was attempting to steal an amulet called "The Eye of the Sphinx" from the Getty Villa Museum in Los Angeles, California, sure that it would grant him the powers he yearned for. Steve, Bucky, Nat, and Clint were undercover, watching Bill closely as he made his way towards the exhibit and preparing to intercept him before he could get his greedy hands on it.
△ Meanwhile, I was enjoying my stroll through the room, unknowing walking right behind a deranged, international thief. Because of fate, the amulet ten feet in front of us began to softly glow green in my presence (main character shit, obviously). Of course, Bill thought this was finally his moment of success, his moment of glory. Well, he was wrong. As soon as he rushed forward to snatch the relic, Bucky tackled him to the floor, and the others followed.
△ While they were busy, the amulet essentially disintegrated as the spirit of the sphinx started to bond with mine. Due to its great power, I lost consciousness and would remain unconscious for over day. Bucky (gosh, I love him so much) made the decision to bring me back to the Quinjet, along with Bill, so that they could make sure I'm ok and have Tony and Bruce run some tests if needed. Plus, SHIELD wants to be aware of any and all possible threats.
△ So, Bill got locked up and I was brought to my own room in the Compound where I will wake up! When I do, I will have no memories of my past, including the incident at the museum. I will know that I shifted and I will remember everything I scripted, but my CR memories will also be gone. I chose to do this because I don't want to worry about my CR while I'm there, and I had no idea what to script for my childhood and family. If I don't remember, then it doesn't matter, right?
