toji is a light sleeper. he doesn't really seem like one with how much he resembles a big bear, but he is. the second he feels the bed dip, the second he hears your feet hit the floor – he's up. with a hand on your thigh, or perhaps your lower back, he looks for you in the dark; he hates it when you wake up in the middle of the night, no matter whether it's to go to the bathroom or to get a glass of water, he just wants you to rest.

this is a different kind of a night and he knows it the second your eyes meet in the moonlight. oh, how he hates them, how he despises them – the dark circles under your eyes. you're so tired, he can see it, but sometimes nothing really helps. no amount of cuddling, no amount of back rubs and whispered stories.

but that doesn't mean he'll give up on you so easily. he brushes off your quiet pleas for him to stay in bed, to go back to sleep, and pushes himself off the mattress. he couldn't care any less about his own sleep – why would he stay here all snuggled up while you're in the other room suffering?

he scoffs at the ridiculous thought.

he gives you one of his hoodies and patiently waits for you to put it on before holding his hand out to you. "c'mon."

moonlight pours in from the kitchen window and it's more than enough to light up the room. swiftly, toji grabs a chair from under the table and places it right beside the kitchen counter and then guides you to sit on it.

when you stare up at him with a confused look, he simply pats your head. "magic drink."

you snort and he cracks a smirk.

exhausted and tired, still bound together.

he fills the kettle with water and flicks on the switch, he finds you your favourite mug from the cabinet and then the aforementioned 'magic drink' – it's just a tea packet, nothing special about it.

but it's good to see you smile, so a joke will do.

as you wait, toji keeps his focus on you. he traces your features with his eyes and then gently pinches your cheek; you don't have the energy to retaliate properly so he can take in the sight of your furrowed brows and your jutted out lip in peace. he knows you'll get him back tomorrow, he's betting on it.

he doesn't let the water get too hot as he checks the kettle with his bare hand and when he finally deems the temperate perfect, he pours it into the mug for you. with sugar, with honey, he makes it just the way you like it.

you think it's sweet, him and the tea both – he doesn't drink it, he doesn't like the taste, and yet he knows exactly how you want it.

he holds the ceramic in front of you and waits for you to take it. your fingers brush over his and he feels warm.

kneeling down in front of you, toji just... sits with you. he doesn't rush you, he just stays with you until you've finished the drink. he makes a few silly remarks about silly things because he also knows how much comfort you find in his voice – he doesn't really understand it, why you would find comfort in him overall, but he won't question it.

he can see how your eyelids grow heavier and heavier, how your head starts to tilt to the side a little, and he doesn't waste a another second to take the mug from your hands and to guide you back to the bedroom. he doesn't want you to wake back up again, he knows that he can't miss the moment or else you might wake back up again.

and that just won't do.

aftee stripping the hoodie from your body, toji tucks you under the blanket and then nearly doubles over because your hands are locked behind his neck, successfully keeping him from pulling away too far.

he thinks you're sweet, too.

he crawls under the blanket with you and holds you to his chest – in his embrace, you're safe and sound, warm and protected, and so finally, your body relaxes. within a second, your breathing slows as you melt into him completely and toji lets out a relieved sigh.

his lips meet the crown of your head in a silent wish of sweet dreams and then he's following suit, his eyes falling shut as he tightens his arms around you.

Once again, you know who is underutilized in DCxDP crossovers? Battinson. Skrunkly shivering boi. Who we should definitely give children to care for. 

 Did you know that Jason canonically had a brother named Danny? Well you do now, and it should also be used more. 

 We all want to give Battinson a robin, so why not give him four for the price of two. He of course gets Dick from the circus- he’s never going to go into public again, this was the first time he’d gone to do something out of his comfort zone for a while and look how that turned out. 

 And on one of the nights that Dick has to stay home (Alfred insists he must finish his homework if he wants to go out on patrol) Bruce returns to the batmobile to find not one child, but two. Is Danny reincarnated? Just appeared one day? Who knows, but he’s here now and going to protect his little brother. 

 Bruce might have tears in his eyes when they both hit him in the kneecaps and bolt because even with the armor it still hurts. How he manages to grab both kids he’s not too sure, but he ends up getting them food after they put the tires back. He also doesn’t understand how he’s convinced them into the car but they’ve both conked out and maybe he’s panicking and needs Alfred- 

 D-Dick why is there another child here? He’s the neighbor, cool cool. W-what do you mean he’s home alone, he’s like, 4?? What do you mean he’s been alone for a week now???

While rewatching s2e6 I noticed (maybe for the first time? I don't remember XD) How Steve talks to Dustin about acting like you don't care to get the girl and literally that's what he does with Billy and it works so well. XD He's just getting more obsessed and triggered the more he tries to trigger Steve and fails.

Also how Steve mentions some want you to be aggressive, strong..hot and heavy.. like a lion...

I just don't know who he's talking about, I just don't know.

But there's gotta be someone who desperately needs him to be all that.

rewatching the scene of jiang cheng yelling at wei wuxian after unmasking him in qinghe is destroying me. first of all absolutely every single angry cruel thing he says is actually a bid for connection and a plea for reassurance, so jot that down. secondly he is soooo jealous of both lan wangji and wen ning (because of the way they have chosen or been chosen, respectively, by wei wuxian) and not trying to hide it even a little bit. thirdly he keeps referring to their shared history and to things that wei wuxian should remember about it and even explicitly (passive-aggressively) brings up wei wuxian's promise that they would be together forever??? and clearly wants wei wuxian to come home so bad?? and yet has never ONCE even ALLUDED to the fact that he lost his golden core because he would do anything to keep wei wuxian safe?? like that is a card he could be playing if he wanted wei wuxian to choose him (which he clearly does) but he never plays it? even through the end of the show he literally never ever ever plays that card???????

one, in my opinion, HUGE mischaracterization that i haven’t seen anyone bring up about five in season 4 is that he is very nonchalant about the fact that the siblings don’t want their powers back, to a point where he doesn’t even seem to care if he gets his back himself

is there anyone else out there who thinks that five would be absolutely ITCHING to get his blinking back. that guy teleported so much pre-universe reset. as much as i love the guy, he has an out of control ego and very much views him and his siblings as more important than regular ordinary people because of their abilities. five definitely would’ve still retained his cockiness without them, but i am positive he’d be a lot more confident in himself if he was able to continue blinking in and out of situations like he did before.

not only did he use his abilities when in dangerous situations and fights (his many physical altercations with lila, the swedes, sparrow ben, jayme, his old self, commission gunmen, hazel and cha cha, the handler, etc.) but also in everyday conversation to emphasize his points (blinking in front of reginald when arguing about oblivion in s3 and diego when arguing about lila using him in s2, etc.) and casual convenience (retrieving fluffernutter ingredients, blinking into elliot’s home and stealing his coffee, etc.) like you can’t tell me the guy doesn’t love his abilities and would’ve craved them deeply in their absence. out of all the siblings, he undoubtedly used his the most.

maybe i’m totally wrong here and just being overly critical of a season we’ve already established was terrible, but thinking about it is just twisting my brain into knots because i am so very confident five would actually have gone to ridiculous lengths to have the advantages his blinking gave him again
