I just thought about the demigod Stan Au (can't stop thinking about it really).

What about the younger twins? Shermie could have been Stan and Ford's mortal sibling and then, his great children happen to also be Athena's kids (Dippers cunning and smarts and Mabels creativity - I mean she can KNIT) So Shermie sends them to the camp where their grunkles/ siblings teach them all about demigodhood. And the older twins will have learned from the past.

It'd be interesting if Mabel was the first one claimed, since her crafting skills are unmatched, leaving Dipper behind and also opening the door for Stan and Dipper bonding.

Also this would maybe take place near the timeline for the Original PJO series, so maybe Mabel's weekly summer crush at some point could be Percy. (Cue the friendly beef with Annabeth)

Also, some headcanons about other characters divine parents:

Soos - Could be Zeus for the lols of the pronunciation and the child abandonment situation but I think Soos could be a son of Hermes.

Wendy - Demeter (joins the Hunters of Artemis)

Pacifica - Daughter of Aphrodite

Robbie - Just because it'd be very funny I would put him as son of Iris.

Gideon - Son of Eris (goddes of Discord anyone?)

I'm thinking Shermie is their older mortal brother, but hmmm. Not sure about Athena as their mom, just because while it does fit, it'd be fun if they had a different godly parent. Although them being the twins older brothers and also great uncles fits in with the Greek families lol. Plus Athena does really fit all four of them. (Hecate would be my second pick, as the goddess of ghosts and magic, although Aries is also fun)

I'd hope by the time the twins rolled up Athena would have learned her lesson about twin favoritism, but if not then i could see her picking both twins over each other, Mabel for her skill in crafts and Dipper for his bookish and intellectual pursuits.

Hmm. First Percy Jackson book takes place in 2009, he's 12, gf takes place in 2012 where she's twelve, three years difference then? Yeah Percy would 100% be a crush of hers. Side note, the Great Prophecy is 40sih years old when the stan twins roll up, there could be older kids of the big three around if they survived. Can't remember if they killed all of their kids or just the younger ones.

Hmmm. Soos. I'm thinking Hephaestus for his crafting, but really for his story a goddess as a parent would suit him, as then his dad could still be a dead beat that sent him post cards. I'm thinking Harmonia, the goddess of harmony and concord, to go with his easy going nature and perfect manness.

Wendy would def join the hunters of Artemis, but I don't think Demeter fits as her mother, as she's not a agriculturally inclined. Maybe Nike? Goddess of victory, speed, and strength. Its how she gets around so quickly.

Pacifica would be an excellent daughter of Aphrodite, no argument there.

Robbie would be really funny as a son of Iris, and Nemesis would also be really fun. Son of the god of revenge and thats why he's beefing with a child.

Gideon would be a good son of Eris, but hmm. hmm. too good. Pheme is the goddess of rumors would also work, but him being a son of Aphrodite that was evil would be a fun twist of him using his charms to hide his wicked ways.

Also quick question what did Susan and Steve look like when they first met? As in is Susan’s hair longer or shorter back then? How old were they?

And about the whole werid thing happening around the twins it makes me wonder. Is it their 1/4 Euclidean powers awakening during puberty? Or is it Steve’s emotional unstability that is slowly rising that’s doing it?

The real Dramatic Reason I had the twins' paranormal puberty start when it did was so that the timing could coincide with their return from winter break and I could shoehorn in the Book of Bill as a red herring. Plus, often in coming-of-age type stories (or at least the ones that I read as a kid), magical abilities of the protagonist usually manifest at a certain age, like 13 or 14. 12 might be too young ig. but yeah you could probably say that the emotional stress from their parents' impending divorce was also a factor in awakening their paranormal abilities.

I like to think no one really explained Soos' whole deal in the dynamic to Ford so he just assumed that he had to be Stan's illegitimate kid/grandkid he couldn't claim bc of faked death/stolen identity reasons. I like to think he also never mentioned it bc one hes bad at communication and two Soos and Stan seem happy. and well Stan likely explained something to the kid one on one bc Stan is many things but not a deadbeat. Ford in his wisdom just like assumed they didnt use terms like 'dad' or 'grandad' cause it'd reveal Stanley wasnt dead/ or then itd make it so Stanford was responsible legally.

He probably saw Soos' reaction to Stans memory loss as further proof tbh. Like yeah seeing your dad/grandad loose all memory of you would be rough.

I like to think he just did his best to try and bond with his 'nephew' for a few years before accidentally letting slip that he was excited for uncle/nephew bonding time to Soos. Soos wouldn't comment bc hes excited to basically be excepted as family by another Pines.

I keep trying to think of a way the missunderstanding gets cleared but no I dont actually think it does. I think the only thing that'd become clear to him is Stan is Soos' father not grandfather. But not that its emotional and not blood. Bc everyone in that family sees Soos as family. Dipper and Mabel more or less treat Soos like a combo big brother/goofy uncle. And Soos isnt gonna willingly bring up his bio dad, plus everyone in the know about his bio wouldn't just share that. So I think Ford dies fully believing he's blood related to Soos. He wouldn't even reject Soos if he knew the truth I think he comes to love him as family too. I just also think its hilarious the idea that he believes that because he made some insane leaps in logic and no one knew to correct them.

Stan doesn't even know his brother thinks this either. Hes probably like 'wow all this time apart and Sixer still knows me better than anyone. He knows that kid is like a son to me!'

A GF AU that i call the "Double-portaled-au" where, as Stan watches Ford slowly getting sucked in by the portal, he rushes forward to go with him. So that Ford doesn't have to go about this alone. Years later, Dipper and Mabel's parents are going through a messy divorce. The twins have heard the stories about their great uncles and how they both mysteriously disappeared. Dipper has managed to get vague details about a cabin in Gravity Falls, Oregon. He wants to investigate, but his parents always say no. It's when their parents decide they are splitting the kids up "for their own good" (Mabel will go to a good art school with her mom, while dipper will go to a good STEM school with his dad) that Mabel and Dipper decide to run away. They go to Gravity Falls since they can't trust any extended family member NOT to just return them to their parents, plus these 12 year olds are super convinced that they can survive on their own (kids do be like that). They find the cabin after some.... issues. But they make it. Only to find that the cabin is in ... it hasn't been cleaned since the 80's so that...can't be good? The vending machine door is open. So they find the discarded journal #1. Soos and Wendy take it upon themselves to help these kids any way they can once they all meet. The kids don't know that there are two other journals, there could be dozens for all they know. This is basically Gravity Falls but with an angstier theme all around. Fun! The townspeople will be written a little different to be nicer to the twins, more generous towards them. Since kids CAN'T survive on their own. They also make allies with the anomalies around town to better help their chances. Dipper finds purpose in trying to solve the mysteries of the town and the weird machine downstairs while Mabel finds purpose in trying to settle down roots in their "new home".

i will always respect and even encourage ford criticism, seeing as he's my favorite character and also he sucks, but respectfully i'm throwing you into a lake.

ford is a jerk? yes! ford is more selfish than stan? arguably yes! never really proves that he loves the kids? huh???

let's go over some facts.

gravity falls is a surprisingly subtext-heavy show. you are not exempt from the subtext.

stan has TWO ENTIRE SEASONS to prove he loves the kids. ford has LESS THAN HALF OF ONE.

he JUST got back to this dimension AND learned that he has a niece and nephew in the first place.

in that vein, he has SOOOOO much more to worry about. the fate of the damn world is at stake and as far as he knows, he's the only one who can prevent the apocalypse.

even with ALLLLLL this on his shoulders. he STILL includes the kids in this. should he? probably not, but he's not a parent. he's an uncle.

he tears himself away from dismantling the portal SPECIFICALLY to play fucking d&d with dipper. he trusts mabel with the unicorn mission and thinks that, if ANYONE'S pure of heart, it's her. plus, not to bring in the supplemental material, but HE'S the one who knows dipper's real name, and also he and stan literally fight over who's the better uncle in one of the comics LMAO

i was talking about this in a discord server, and i think this sums it up pretty fucking well:

"like considering him having grown up in the 60s(?) w a kinda shit dad and then being isolated in the woods for a while and then stranded across dimensions for another 30 years with like Net Zero Friends the whole time probably i think I’d say he’s pretty kind to the kids. yeah i think it would’ve been helpful to include mabel and stan in on the Keep The Rift Safe thing but hey. he was working through some Learning To Trust His Family stuff HDHDJSJ"

plus, stan has his shit moments too. he put waddles outside when mabel practically begged him not to and entrusted him with her little guy. that's an entire episode! he pits the kids against each other over a room. the entirety of "roadside attraction" is stan knowingly giving dipper shifty dating advice and then facing the consequences for following it himself.

the big difference is that stan's shit moments are laid out, again, over two whole seasons. ford's are crunched into a very small timeline.

again. ford IS selfish. he IS a jerk. you're fully allowed to not have him in your top 5, or not like him at all! but he also objectively DOES love his family, and even if we didn't get to see it much, we did STILL get to see it. it's not always overt and obvious like with stan or soos, but it's still clear enough to be undeniable, and it's incredibly unfair to his character to say he "didn't prove it."

ok ive been thinking about valentin a lot lately so im just going to infodump what i have right now.

first i should say. i dont plan on giving the guy trauma. i know its a whole thing with ocs and that they always have trauma, but i really dont want to do that with valentin. and i have a reason for this. the whole reason i want stan to have a boyfriend like this in the first place is because he deserves to have some kind of stable figure in his life. someone who can comfort him and be understanding of him without their own issues also weighing down on them. valentin is in a place where he is able to be that kind of person for stan. and thats because hes mentally stable enough to do that. okay now for the actually entertaining stuff. valentin is a very gentle and nice guy despite how big and scary he is (and the fact he kills people..) and is friendly with pretty much everyone in town like stan is.

hes very big into parkour and stuff. before he moved to gravity falls it was more urban parkour, scaling buildings and such, and afterwards he got really interested in exploring the forest and climbing the trees. he sees it like a giant playground. its very fun.

him being into parkour is actually what led to him becoming a hitman. i couldn't for the life of me tell you how exactly he ended up with that job, but it made a decent living and he didn't mind it much. but whatever

he has a few piercings. he has pierced ears (which was in the concept art) and ive decided he can also have snakebites and a nose piercing too, why the hell not. he probably has a few tattoos too, but i havent put enough thought into those yet.

speaking of snakebites. he loves snakes. i think everyone deserves a favorite animal and his is snakes. stan is inexplicably terrified of snakes so whenever theres one in the shack or on the porch then valentin is the one to take care of it.

also. remember how i said "dont ask this guy where he was in the mid 80's" on the concept art? well since youre here i might as well give some clarification to that. there were like. "parties" for bears in the 80's in california. he was over there. for completely unrelated reasons. dont worry about it. dipper was one thousand percent convinced valentin was a werewolf when him and mabel first got to the shack. sure, he was really nice to them, but what if it was all a ploy so he could eat them or whatever werewolves do?? plus, he was always running off into the forest to "work out". it was suspicious.. and then he realized valentin was just really active and liked nature. boring.

mabel loovves doing valentin's hair. its so long, the possibilities are endless!! lots of times he ends up just being a model for her, doing different hairstyles or wearing different accessories. its very sweet and wholesome and cool.

soos basically has two dads now. valentin is always there to teach him stuff and give advice. compared to stan he's the voice of reason most of the time. they're very close.

dont think i forgot about wendy! he's close with wendy too! she taught him how to use axes to climb trees more efficiently and other methods of navigating the forest. he taught her how to fire guns. it's great.

and now the best for last. stan.

valentin met stan after moving to gravity falls in order to be more secluded and less likely to be hunted down by cops. this was about 7 years after stan got there, so he was already pretty settled in. they met in greasy's diner and talked for a while, hitting it off. they kept meeting there for lunch and sometimes breakfast, and after a while they grew closer and hung out more often. blah blah blah they start dating its all great. cool!

fun fact. they're unofficially married. they can't legally get married since it was like. the 90's when they started dating and even then the timeline goes up until 2012 where same sex marriage still wasn't legal. but they said "hey even if we can't sign the paperwork (which would be a headache anyways) we can still wear matching rings and live together and basically be husbands but socially instead of legally." and so they're. basically married.

i said in the concept art that valentin is kinda housewife like? yeah. he takes care of the house and stuff while stan goes out and works, and really just. likes baking. it seems out of place considering everything else but he just likes it.

when stan finishes his work day, its immediately to valentin for emotional support and cuddles. theres nothing more relaxing than just sitting back and letting val hold him close. maybe talk about how their days went. domestic bliss and all that.

shockingly valentin is very bad at flirting. but not in the way you're probably thinking. stan will say something like "damn baby youre body is soo beautiful. all of that working out is really paying off huh." and then valentin will reply like "well i think your eyes are pretty and your silver hair brings out the way they shine when you're happy" like how the hell is stan supposed to reply to that. valentin is so stupid /aff

also stan gets flustered very easily around him. no matter how badass you think he looks with his brass knuckles ready to fight, he looks like a pathetic wet cat next to valentin.

ive also had a lot of thoughts about him and ford interacting, but im gonna put that in another post because this alone is already over 900 words and thats too much. so uh. yeahh. hope you like him.

Soos, trying to decide if he should lie: I... don't know. But Dad and Pop don't like going into town, and they're a little nervous about letting you come here.

Mabel: Then we should prove that we can handle it! We know you and Wendy, so if it's humans they're scared of, that's pretty silly.

Dipper, grabbing Soos' shirt: Plus, weren't they humans at one point?

Soos: *Nervously* Um... uh... LOOK! A PERSON!

After a week of being in Gravity Falls you noticed that were was always glow of magic around the area. There was a low and high. Low being in the town it's self and slowly getting higher the more into the woods you went.

But there was always some spots of it in the town. Like small puddles of weirdness that leaguers.

The Mystery shake was one of only a few buildings that had a big spike in that weird magical abilities.

It was weird but even the journal had that same weird felling in a different way. It had more of a opening fell to it. Like a door or a portal that allowed you to get in contact with anything of a higher level.

You felt like the journal only told of what the things here were or how to find/ summon them.

It made you think to make your own version of the journal. But a bit more organized from how dangerous they are to.

What to do if you are in a situation with one of the things. But it was going to take time to make a copy. With all the Pages of the journal. You were only able to look throw only half of it.

As you went over to the Mystery Shack it was a closed day. You were currently being the refry for the twins syrup race.

"Ok and go!" You said as you then both haled a bottle of syrup over there head thigh there mouth open.

"Go Sir syrup!"Mable  yelled

"Go Mountie Man!" Dipper said

After a few seconds  amable than patted her bottle making its syrup drip down onto her mouth first.

She the chowed and coughed a bit." I won!"

Dipper then grabbed the news paper next to him. " wow no way. Hey look at this." He then showed up the news paper.

" A human sized hamster balls. Huh I'm human size!" Mable said as she looked at the news paper."

" no no Mable this!" Dipper pointed to the other side of the paper. That had a monster photo contest. That hada fake picture that looked from a cartoon.

"We see weirder stuff than that everyday. We don't have any photos of the gnome now do we?"

" nope no photos just memories. Plus this beard hair." Mable said as she held out a  bit of hair.

" eww why do you have that?" Both me and Dipper say as we back away weirded out.

" why do you even have that?" Dipper asked.

Mable only shrugged as she put it away.

" good morning knuckle heads you all know what today is?" Grunckle Stan said as he came into the room.

As the twins gave there reply. Grunckle Stan then told them it's family fun day. As he the. Suggested they get blindfolded on and get in the car.

You desired to join them since you have nothing else to do.

As the twins asked questions about the what there were going to do you just zoned out as you out your head phones on.

After a bit you three were outside. Stan then said to take the blindfold off. As the three of you did you all see Stan in finding gear standing in front of a banner that had fusing season on it.

The twins then questioned  on what Stan was up to. You on the other hand looks salí de the lake to see how everyone was.

Lady Sanan had a fishing rod in one hand and a pan in the other. You then see Wendys dad Manly Dan and her brothers in another boat. As Manly Dan  grabs a fish with his hands as he then punched it on the boat.

" Guys just give Stan a chance you don't know it could be fun." You told the twins as they haled the fishing hats Stan gave them.

Then Old Man Mcgucket came running around yelling about a gobblewonker.  As the twins and Stan argued about going to the the island.

You look to the lake we're  Mc gucket  said he saw the lake monster. You then see some bobbles out in the water and a few ripples.

"Hey y/n , so are you coming with us to the monster hunt?." Dipper asked as he  got some fishing supplies.

" naw I'm good I'm a bit tired from getting my home ready. So I'll just go fish off on the shore somewhere." You told him ad you took off your headphones.

"Ok then suit yourself then y/n" Mable said as they walked of and got onto Soos's boat. While Stan went of somewhere else.

You then went into the small fishing shop. And saw the guy that sprayed Mcgucket with a water.

You head him mumbled some stuff under his breath. You ignored it as you got a good looking fishing rod, hook, and a few buckets. You then went up to the register.

" Hi I'll just be getting this. Do you have any live bait?" You asked as you put your stuff on the register.

" yes we do miss I have a few Minos and a small bass or two." The worker said as he then walked over to a container behind him.

" ok then I'll have those last few Bass as well as a two pounds of Minos." You told him. "So what was that about with Mc Goucket?" You asked as he got the live fish into a container.

" That's just my old crazy dad that keeps coming up with things to scare off my costumers." He said as he then started o scanted the items.

We'll do you ever think that he's doing it to try to get your attention? You asked him as he calculated the total.

"What makes you think he's going that? All I see is my old man ding something to get attention to make me look bad." He asked.

Well I'm with the Pines family for the summer, and Stan Pines took his great niece and nephew Mable and Dipper. He took them here instead of opening the Shake.

It was suspicious at first but when I asked him why. He told me that he wanted to take a break from work.

Plus he wanted to have some time to bond with them. It may not be the best, but he's trying.

"Hmm that's true it surprises almost everyone here that he's not at work. But that's nice he wants to spend time with them."

"I don't know if that's what he's trying to do. But it has been months since I talked to him properly and Hera since we spent time together." Your total is also $67.37.

You got your money out and payed." Well you'll never know if you don't give it a try. Trust me I've never had my dad in my live. So I can kinda understand the want to spend time with someone you haven't been with in a bit."

Well ether way just give you Mc Goucket a shoot you never know it could be fun." You said as you got your stuff and walk out the shop.

After a bit of walking around you decided to go off to a more farther out area of the lake away from every one else.

As you looked around you got to a cliff off to the side. That was hidden in the forest around the corner of the lake.

After a few hours of fishing you had goiter a good amount of fish. But then you hear the roar of something off in the distance.

As you then walked over to see what it was. You ended up on the other side of we're you were. You then see something off to the side at the shore of the lake.

As you get closer you see that it looked like some type of creature. Then you realized that it looked like lake monster.

When you got closer to it you then see that it's tail and front fin we're fought up in a fishing net and had a a few hocks in its body.

It roared at you and It moved around making some of its blood go into the water. Wow there it's ok I'm not going to hurt you. You healed you hand up as you walked over to the front of it were it's head was laying down.

The lake monster then roared in your face, you only stud your ground as you them walked closer to it. The gooblewonker then stoped roaring but did look at you carefully in case you did anything.

You then got to it front tied up fin grabbing the fish net. It then gave you a low growl. You then looked around the place and then made a circle in the ground.

Then you started to cut the net and got it off. As well as pulling off the hooks from its body.

The monster only looks at you at first in caution, but over time it calmed down and watched what you did.

As you went around it cutting the net and taking hooks out. You then saw that it's tail was bleeding and was basically getting cut off it's tail.

You took of the net and saw the blood that was coming out you then. Got your jacket off and ripped of a arm of it and ripped it around the tails covering up the wound.

After a bit you then see Soos's boat speed by as Mable, Dipper, and Soos ran way from another gobblewonker.

" that's weird is there another one of you?" The gobblewonker shook its head no. "So it's a fake or something?" It's nods its head as its then rubbed its head on top of yours.

"Aww is this a thank you for helping you? Hahaha!" You laughed as it splashed you with a bit of water.

After a bit you gobblewonker then started to move and got into a more deeper area of the lake.

"Well your more of a kinder cryptic that I've known of." You then continued to walk back to were you were fishing.

As you continued to fish you then see that the gobblewonker would catch a few fish then go off somewhere else.

After a bit you see something smaller swim of in the distance where some of the town's people were fishing.

The gobble wonker then swam in the same detection. And then tipped over the people's boat. After a bit it swam back to were you were with someone next to it.

"Hmm? What do you have there Ness? Is it ok if I can you Ness? Since your kinda the louckness cryptic." You asked as you relied back your fishing hook.

Ness noodles as it then lifted up its body a bit above the water. On top of its bobby it shows a smaller version of its self a baby ness.

"Aww is that your baby." You asked as the baby slid into the water and swam around a bit.

A bit later you saw that the baby was malnourished. "Aww poor little guy. Here you can have my bait and a few of the fish I caught." You throw them into the lake as the baby ate them.

After a few hours you played a bit with he baby and healed up Ness. But it was eventually time to call the day over.

As you walked your way back to the shore we're everyone was. The feeling of being watched was always there.

You couldn't point it out where it was coming from. But after a bit you could point out that it was coming from the Burch trees that you passed.

You brushed it off, and continued to walk back to the main area. As you did you saw that the pines we're packing up there things.

"Hey guys so how was the monster hunt?" You asked then as they put there things in Stans car.

" oh the wobblewoncker was fake, but he did spend some time with Stan." Dipper said as he put the fishing rods in the truck of the car.

" Yeah, but we caught a few fish." Mable came tuning over to you tackling you to the ground." Grunckle Stan said we were going to eat then. But I'm going to convince him to keep them as pets.

"That's cool Mabel  I didn't catch that much only a few to eat for dinner." You told her as you put your own fish in the cooler. Then closing the trunk in the back of the Stans car before getting in.

After you all got back to the shack you got out the fish you had left and went off you your home.

Description

Most people see Soos as a very simpleminded guy with a simple life, but the truth is far from that. Upon meeting him and learning more about him, it’s clear that he’s gone through a lot since his childhood, and can be very observant and a deep thinker when people least expect it. Soos was raised by his Abuelita — this is because his mom died when he was only an infant, and his dad basically bailed not long after. He hasn’t seen his father since he was four years old; though his dad would send him postcards yearly for his birthday, promising to be there next year, he eventually stopped doing so and Soos grew to hate celebrating his birthday because of it. After his dad broke the same promise every year, he learned it was better not to get his hopes up over having a good birthday. Thankfully, his Abuelita was a good parental figure to him and took care of him instead. He’s lived with her to this day, initially living at her house until he became in charge of running the Mystery Shack and both moving there.

Soos started working at the Mystery Shack for Stan Pines at 12 years old. Though he doesn’t seem like a hard worker and is frequently seen as unintelligent, the truth is he does work hard and takes pride in his work — he does a pretty good job considering the circumstances. That isn’t to say that he’s perfect, he definitely has his brain fart moments and can sometimes get easily distracted, but he makes up for those mistakes with his good spirit and reliability. Plus, he was always able and willing to put up with Stan, which many others struggle with, so it made him the perfect employee for the Mystery Shack. He was often an employee of the month over the years, and eventually after the first summer the twins came to Destiny Isle, Soos became the owner of the Mystery Shack and took over for Stan. He loves the Mystery Shack and running the place, and he still lets the twins work there from time to time if they need the extra money.

Headcanons

Soos was super stoked when the twins moved to the isle for good not long after their first summer visiting. He considers them his best friends and loves tagging along on their adventures

He’s always seen Stan as a father figure, which is why he’s always gotten along with him and enjoyed working at the Mystery Shack so much

He’s a lot smarter than he seems. There are many times where he makes observations but no one believes him, only to later be proven right. On the other hand, he also has moments of being pretty gullible 

If you ask him he has learned everything from video games 

Has had a lot of temporary side jobs in the course of his life, including a cook at a local diner and a bus driver

Has a boat called the S.S. Cool Dude

He’s not had the best track record when it comes to dating over the years. He even got into a video game called Romance Academy 7 in an attempt to help his dating skills, which only led to him getting into a huge mess with a virtual girl named Giffany. He was extremely addicted and completely absorbed into this virtual dating game, and Dipper and Mabel helped him separate from Giffany as she got more and more obsessive and followed him through different nearby electronics. The trio believed that they got completely rid of Giffany, but they don’t realize yet that she soon will return in real life as she possesses someone else’s body

Okay, so I thought about it and I hope it will help? The thing you are doing is mostly assigning the roles based on the large personality vibes-

Like Normal as Mabel, because he's peppy and chipper and optimistic or Glenn as Stan because he's chill with kids doing illegal shit.

But the way I see it, it makes more sense to assign the roles based on overlapping details like relationships and motivations, which means that inevitably some characters are gonna share roles and/or work differently plot/lore-wise than the actual characters in Gravity Falls.

Here's what I'm thinking:

1. Henry Oak as Stanford Pines and the Oak twins as Stanley Pines. Listen, hear me out. This is the only DnDads relationship that canonically went from closeness to being as tense, if not more, as the Grunkles. It's also the only relationship within the podcast where one family member hurts the other on purpose and then spends years trying to resolve the consequences that followed after. The reasons for why it happened obviously would be different than in Gravity Falls, but it's the only relationships that I can see result in the portal incident. Additionally Lark and Sparrow both possess the chaotic traits to make a Mystery Shack work as well as Stanley Pines made it work and Henry hopped the dimensions on accident just like Ford did and has a culty relationship with his dad (does that imply Barry Oak as Bill Cipher? Idk)

2. Normal Oak as mostly Dipper Pines with a side of Mabel and Hero Oak as mostly Mabel Pines with a side of Dipper. The reasoning is as follows:

-Normal as Dipper is due to his generelly more active role in the plot progression, social awkwardness and need to prove himself. Also, insecurity. Sparrows dissapointment also overlaps greatly with Grunkle Stans 'tough love' thing, where the Gravity Falls cast enters Stans mind. Additionally if Normal would find a journal with a vanished, mysterious author he'd be the more likely one to get invested in it, because of his big desire to help others (and also help the author, who he suspects went missing due to investigating the dangerous paranormal activities).

-Hero as Mabel is due to her generelly more passive role in the plot progression and interest in paranormal, unapologetically being herself and want to be normal aka have new social relationships. Plus, the ambition to achieve her personal goals. Hero simply is as interested in investigating weird stuff as Mabel is, meaning it's mostly her just stumbling into paranormal stuff because of 1. Normal dragging her into it 2. Trying to be social as herself and it just being there and 3. it being interesting to her only if its related to her personal interests (Mabels interest in timetravel because of Waddles, volunteering to get Unicornhair because she likes Unicorns as a concept, the big interest in twillight-esque vampires being real because it seems romantic to her)

Now, the sides of Mabel and Dipper is each because their actual surface personalities do actually match the opposite of what I assigned them, meaning that in certain plot points they would basically switch whos Dipper and Mabel. Like, Normal would be more likely to trust Lark/Sparrow when they open the portal and Hero would be more likely to be Dipper during stuff like Summerween. You cant really clearly cut it. It just so happens that plotwise Normal is a more active character than Hero.

3. Wendy and Soos as Scary and Linc, with Scary being more Wendy and Linc more Soos, but they also would switch a lot. Just smush their roles together and assign parts of them to whoever fits it more, like for example Scary being both the cool girl and the one with an absent father like Soos.

4. The Closes/Swifts as the Northwests. LISTEN. They simply occupy the same space, they are not as abusive as the actual Northwests. But the neglect and pressure to be cool and Mabels rivalry with Pacifica translates well into Taylor having Pacificas role. To be clear, he's only nasty to Hero and only because she outcools him in their shared interest department (anime). The way the Closes/Swifts got rich I imagine is due to their ties to the Likely-Unworthy-Fosters.

5. The Likely-Unworthy-Fosters (Scam, Jodie and Hermie) as Gideon. I don't think I need to explain this much, it just makes sense. Gideon is a Scammer. Hermie scammed Normal. Scam scams. Jodie is kinda there like Gideons mom. Hermie would not be the brains of the operation, but hed defo would be the face. It works.

And

6. Glenn Close, Darryl Wilson and Ron Stampler as Fiddleford McGuckett, to various degrees. Yes, it would be more complicated. No, idk how they ended up working with Henry. It probs was something along in the name of protection from the paranormal, supporting a friend and shits and giggles. Yes, I think they all worked on the portal while being parents. Yes, they did not know all the details. And yes, they all erased their memories, Darryl only once, Ron a couple lot times more and Glenn probs got addicted to it. Yes, one of them is a blind eye founder. I think Ron probably founded them on accident and Glenn probs only worsened the issue. I can vividly see that.

Dibper Headcanons (Part 1?)

Note: Headcanons will mostly take place when they're teens unless I state otherwise. As I've been drawing them as teens lately and I'm having a lot of fun with that.

-Neither of them have really dated before, so they have a lot to figure out. It's awkward at times, they have a lot of moments where they have internal gay panic, but they learn from one another and make each other happy.

-Dipper at first dated/met up with Dib in secret, not telling Mabel & co that he had a boyfriend. He wasn't worried that they wouldn't accept him or anything like that (Mabel's bi, and come on, can you really imagine any member of the Pines family being homophobic? No way.) But coming out can still be intimidating. Plus, knowing Mabel, she might make a big deal out of Dipper having a date/significant other and accidentally embarrassing him (and overwhelming Dib) as a byproduct. 

-Dib kind of has the opposite problem. With his sister and dad pretty much ignoring him 90% of the time, he figures: "Why bother? They don't care anyway,"  so he doesn't tell them, but he also doesn't treat it like it's a big secret. When they do find out, and his dad asks him why he never mentioned having a boyfriend, Dib just kinda shrugs and says something like "it never came up before." (No, Dib is totally not doing this out of slight spite because he feels that his dad doesn't give him enough attention and care. Not at all. /sarcasm)

-Dipper is the one who kisses first. He kisses Dib on the cheek.

-The two usually go cryptid searching in the woods as dates (imagine Dipper showing Dib all the cool supernatural stuff around Gravity Falls, tell me that he wouldn't do that)

-Trans Dib anyone? Maybe?

-Words cannot describe Dib's utter joy when Dipper sees Zim and immediately knows he's not human.

-Dib is touch starved. I imagine that since Dipper grew up with lots of physical affection, (for example: hugs from Mabel, pats on the back from Soos & Stan, getting his hair ruffled by Wendy, etc,) Dipper is just… naturally affectionate, even if it's not romantic. So when Dipper does something like pat Dib on the back without even thinking about it, you can imagine his surprise when Dib starts getting emotional, even welling up a bit.

-Once Dipper knows Dib is touch starved, he does his best to give more physical contact/affection. Holding Dib's hand or arm, resting his head on Dib's shoulder, doing that whole "hands accidentally brush against each other while reaching for something at the same time and letting them linger for a bit" thing, sitting closer to Dib so their shoulders/arms are touching, and the list goes on.

-Dib only ever calls Dipper "Mason" in two scenarios: A. It's something serious (have you ever had someone call you by your full name and you go: "oh shit" ?) Or B. It's a particularly personal/tender moment between them (can also be serious, but more in a grounded, comforting way rather than a "you're in trouble" way) imagine Dib whispering to Dipper "I love you.. Mason." When Dipper's having a rough time.

-When Dib actually gets to meet the Pines family (the Grunkles & Mabel, and Soos and Wendy if you want to count them), they pretty much welcome him immediately. They might as well have adopted Dib.

-Dib is not accustomed to so much attention, but he loves Dipper's family (even if they're a bit much at times, especially Mabel's very lovey dovey, high energy personality. Dib likes Mabel though, she's very kind and often compliments his "goth" clothes, sometimes she makes things for him)

-When Dipper meets the Membrane family, things are… awkward. Gaz is intimidating (as usual), and Professor Membrane is kinda hard to read.

-Dipper likes Professor Membrane's upbeat greeting and admires his work, but it didn't take him long to realize why Dib's relationship with his dad is a bit rocky.

-Side note: At first Gaz treated Dipper the same way she does everyone: mostly ignoring him and occasionally calling him annoying and other various insults, as well as sarcastic comments (like: "you like my brother? Why?" And "Great. Now there's two of them.") She did have a slight change in attitude when she realized they had one thing in common: video games. After playing a few rounds of a game they both liked, she pulled her brother aside and only said: "Keep him."

-Ya know how in Invader Zim people give each other meat on Valentine's Day? And how in Gravity Falls they… don't? Well Dib gave Dipper an entire turkey for Valentine's Day. Dipper got him cookies shaped like things such as UFOs, Skulls, Unicorns, etc. (He made them with help from Mabel). So Dib is half like: 'Wait, you DO give each other candy!' And half: 'Shit. I'm the weird one again.' Dipper is shocked by the gift, but he's all for it. Who else should give him a turkey?

-The turkey does present one "problem" though, it's a lot of turkey. Even with Dipper, his sis, and his Grunkles, there'd still be leftovers. His solution? Invite Dib to dinner! (Kinda wanna write a drabble on this, cuz I have a pretty funny idea for it)

Meeting the Gravity Falls gang (Owl House/ Gravity Falls crossover)

Visits to her father’s house were kinda planned as a kid, but with time Stanley has just learned to always have an extra bed ready and be down to roll with whatever punches the day brings. Sometimes the punches are some supernatural anomaly he has to save his family from, sometimes it’s a surprise visit from his daughter, you never know.

What he does know is that when the twins scream that loudly he should grab some knuckle bracers. In case.

Appearing in a poof of smoke in the middle of the shop may have not been the best call for poor ol’ kiddo. She did choose a without customers granted but she still has to fend off a/an:

A large teddy-bear man wielding her squirrel/duck hybrid she sewed with her dad when she was ten

A tiny boy screaming loudly and throwing things

A tiny girl screaming with a bedazzling gun.

Thanks to magic she’s alive but that just means Stan has to shout over the even louder screams to get everyone to shut up and listen.

A very, very fast explanation later (”YOU’RE MARRIED?!”) Stan finally introduces his daughter to his employees/kids and their reactions are...varied. Certainly not the best but not entirely bad either. It’s a lot to take in.

Mabel is strangely a little warier than Dipper about this new person. She has good reason to be. Having survived her own trauma of being in another dimension plus the only other person she knows from another dimension being a murderous triangle makes her a little frazzled about this new inter-dimensional being.

Seeing her interact positively with Dipper and the other helps, but it’s not really until they get to talk one-on-one that things really improve. Once they’ve talked she gets more of a chance to see that this new stranger is actually pretty down to Earth, like what would happen if Grunkle Stan had magic, like real magic, not that card stuff he does sometimes.

The sparkly magic does help a bit. A lot. 

Dipper has had his unfortunate experiences with inter-dimensional beings true. Unlike his sister and Stanford though Dipper has never been in another dimension. There;s a lot of curiosity about what other dimensions are like, what stories they have, what the science is like back there (”Magic is science? That doesn’t make any sense tell me more.”) so he has a lot of questions.

Is wary of the magic at first. Some magical antics later and some basic principles of magic explained within the hour and Dipper is kind of here for this. He’s very curious about the physics part of magic and how it works, setting up experiments to see what the limits of her powers are.

She would feel a little used, but this kid is paying her 5 chocolate bars to lift a pig with magic. Hard to pass up a good deal.

Soos is a gift to humanity. Never change Soos. He’s friendly once the explanation has been given, greeting her as if nothing had really happened. Soos is actually over the moon to greet the creator of some of the shop’s wackier sewn creations since he had thought Stan was behind most of them.

Soos is like Dipper in that he has magic-related questions. Soos is like Mabel in that they are not usual questions she gets.

Strange question, wanting to know if magic can make the question mark on his shirt backwards but to be fair she doesn’t know either.

Wendy is a simple girl with simple needs. Decent pay, flexible hours, someone who can keep up with her adventures, she doesn’t ask for much. Meeting Stan and Edda’s daughter is like when a flock of young lesbians seeing an older (40-50s) woman like Cate Blanchett or Lucy Lu in a suit for the first time. Only that instead of a suit it’s a leather jacket and instead of someone famous it’s a con artist who has sick magic.

She doesn’t get a crush per-say but she does have an admiration for the older woman. Kind of like a celebrity crush. She doesn’t want it to go anywhere but learning her ways so that she can end up like that is a fair and admirable goal for Wendy to acquire.

Soos had a tired, wanted, rude con artist as a mentor, Wendy has a badass, magical, kickass con artist as a mentor, it’s only fair.

with uncle Stan I don’t really know what would happen if I’m being honest? He might be fun to talk to but still

dipper would probably panic half the time

I love Mabel and she’s one of my best friends but she can be a lot. And if I’m in a room with just her I’ll probably get overwhelmed.

Hilda is my best friend and I love her but she’s also a lot. Though it’d be fun to bully Robbie..

Thompson would just freak out but he’s also prepared so he’d be a good choice too.

Wendy is pretty chill but I feel like our conversations would be more about bullying our friends (jokingly obvs)

uncle fidds…he’s uncle fidds I think he’d be mostly fine but with him it’s hard to tell.

Soos would be very chill about it and would probably comfort me if I did have a meltdown.

So my best bet is probs dad, he knows what triggers meltdowns or shutdowns for me. And we can sit in comfortable silence or talk to eachother about things we like. Plus I have a weird feeling he’d be prepared for something like that.

Hey Ford if you could choose one person to be locked in a room with for 24 hours who would you choose? (Assume there is no way out of the room until the day is over and all your needs are taken care of)

I have a feeling that Dipper would find the most enjoyment from “hanging out” with me.

Stanley and I would certainly squabble.

Mabel wouldn’t be able to handle being “alone” for so long. (It appears as though she needs an entourage)

And I’m not too comfortable with anyone else.

Maybe Rin, but she is usually busy with her own things.
