Nightwing (prodding his father's arm with his shoe): Batman? Batman? Hey, Batman?!

Batman (lying on the dirt ground in pain): What?!

Nightwing: You're clearly too… um, sore to drive. I'm going to take you home.

Batman (weakly raising his arm): You… can't drive the Batmobile! You're not equipped.

Nightwing: I’ve driven it before, you had me drive it when I was fourteen. Then I would take it for a joyride around Gotham when I was a teenager.

Batman: You what—? Oh, I felt a pop in my spine.

Nightwing (shrugging with a smile): I did a lot of things as a pre-teen and then when I got my license I really enjoyed taking the car for a spin. Did you know about the time I tried mushrooms with Roy?

Batman: What?

Nightwing: It was a crazy night. I’m definitely glad I tried shrooms once—never again. In the mix, I tried heroin; I can’t remember how—probably snorted it. Just know it didn’t go well. Thankfully, right?

Batman (surprised): You tried heroin? I knew it was odd that you could taste it.

Nightwing laughed, nodding.

Nightwing: Never did that again. It did give me a better reason to want to help Roy. It took time to help him, you know that whole song and dance.

Batman (exhaling as he spoke): No.

Nightwing: Whatever you say Dark Knight who took a drug called venom to become OP. As for me, I ended up in the hospital. The doctor was nice that night. Whew, glad I got that off my chest. Oh, and remember the time I snuck Kori into the pool house? When we first started dating, and then again when we got back together? The second time? Way better. Fun times!

Batman (staring at the sky, wondering if this was a nightmare): This can't be real. I must be hallucinating.

Nightwing: It’s very real. Don’t worry, this last confession isn’t that bad. Sometimes I would use the Batmobile to take Jason out for ice cream. People think we hated each other when he was a kid. It wasn’t like that; I was just going through a phase. But the ice cream always made things better. He was just a little kid back then!

Batman: He was fourteen! Why are you telling me all of this?

Nightwing helped prop up his father on his back and began to walk him to the Batmobile.

Nightwing: Because you’re too sore to stand up and scold me. I'm not afraid of you anymore either. Like, I was a teenager; I did teenager stuff.

Batman: Trying magic mushrooms and heroin isn't "teen stuff"!

Nightwing: Alfred told me you smoked weed while traveling to Germany at seventeen.

Batman sighed, clearly annoyed.

Batman: The keys are in one of my pocket. If you can just get me into the passenger seat, I’ll pull them out myself.

Nightwing: Awesome! Ice cream is on me.

Batman (begrudgingly): I want rocky road.

Nightwing: I knew you'd say that.

Been thinking about idw1's outliers lately, and how sort of wild the whole concept is from a worldbuilding standpoint, and it struck me that most confirmed outlier abilities tend to be really useful, or flashy, or powerfully dangerous, and few to none tend to be like, really boring, or totally impractical, or even entirely useless? Which, doesn't really make sense when considering the fact that outlier abilities are seemingly random.

Surely not everyone who's born an outlier gets something useful?

And I don't mean like, "good" useful, but any sort of useful, even if that means you can kill people with your voice, or give a power boost by exploding yourself, those are still "useful".

But surely there had to be some with abilities that were totally impractical, or nonbeneficial, or at the very least just insignificant or purely aesthetic and pointless?

#mods. enhancements. and artificial outlier abilities are a different thing. with plenty of room for error and drawbacks #but being born inherently an outlier by the sheer whim of. idfk. primus or the planet itself. what's the chances there???#this definitely has to have been discussed before. i'm just too lazy to dig for it rn. but yeah. its a fascinating concept either way #idw transformers #tf idw1 #mtmte #lost light #maccadam #maybe thundercracker's sonic booms count. but those have some use. also its funky. so he gets a pass i think #i had more thoughts about this earlier when i first jotted the thought down. but ive forgotten them now >:/#basically its just funny to think of like. shockwaves school and all. going around like ''what can you do?''#and you've got the group we see in the flashback. and then like. some guy whos like ''...i can change the color of energon''#or like. #i volunteered at an animal shelter today. i have little experience with dogs but i walked one with a student from italy #we were warned that the dog should not get near other dogs because he will start barking #so we tried for different evasive routes #also. he kept trying to eat random stuff on the ground. yes mostly poo and plastic and we had to be very strict #i managed to wrench the plastic out of his mouth #.... i feel like my studies have sort of prepared me for this a bit haha #anyway. after we had walked for a while be stood still and he (the dog) sat down. lied down #and rolled on his back to we could scratch his belly #:')#(we had pet him gently on the back and head before)#anyway. when we got back we saw the lists with the different dogs plus notes about them #one of the notes on our dog was 'do not pet'#well!!#:)#sveras thank you for your trust

#i loved. that. jacket. look.#i don't think i'll ever fully read the injustice comics over how it handles some of its characters #but getting booster / jaime mentoring stuff was peak #i don't see booster as a traditional mentor though #his dynamic with jaime is more chaotic and informal as opposed to a batman and robin team up #i see it more as two brothers clashing. booster gives 'good' advice on occasions lmao and it's REALLY important to me #i love how booster's arc in this comic's run grounds him. i am ignoring everything else honestly but he's less of a gag which is a plus #ooc.

Inside my head for any IP out there, there are two versions. One is canon where the fun is had with dissecting and analysing and being grounded to the actual canon and the other is sandbox peaceful mode where anything goes. and thats the dream

#thinking about the whole thing about how REALLY bill is yeah. evil and scummy and does not want to be redeemed and the canon would not be #improved if he was #but i havent watched the show since i was a child and to me until I rewatch it (i most likely will not) and so i generally remember bill fo #being theatrical and over the top and generally being really odd #its kind of like #theres a billion ways people have interpreted The Actual Show (+ books)#like a bunch of retellings #i think if it came out more recently and maybe had a more mature tone i think i'd be a bit off-put with how insistant people are with makin #bill cipher a pines member #plus with hindsight of what he did to ford. brief mentions of melodramatic violence in passing is way less grounded than the ford stuff #and i think as it is it rubs me the wrong way a little when people put forth that its the Pines who are making him Become Good #but for now i just sit in my happy sweet spot where every interperetation is a differet Version detatched from canon and each other #like a fairytale or something #gravity falls #cookie rambles

Just two more months (plus 3 days in April that I left after vacation for saying goodbye forever to coworkers plus maybe hustling for some “hey we’ve been friendly, can I use you as a reference for a future job”s) to go!!! And honestly not a moment too soon as things continue to get worse :)

i did not work hard today but i was wearing a fall harness with a structural belt all day and thats so much fucking weight on your shoulders and the straps kept digging into my legs when i bent down so my body hurts so bad

#i wasnt up in the rig at all today so i couldve taken the harness off technically but i still needed my structural stuff on the ground plus #i'm trying to break my body into wearing the harness before i actually need it once we start climbing up there
