As a lawyer, who I think would be charged with murder under American law vs who I think a prosecutor wouldn’t pursue
I’ve been a criminal lawyer for a little while now and thought I’d come at this from a different angle than I usually see just for fun and to make a note to myself of just how similar or different people’s primary concerns are going into t3 than what the law is concerned about.
This is going off of only their base crime, not anything that occurred after T1/T2.
I’ll preface by saying that murder charges kind of start when probable cause exists to arrest- cops arrest suspect and send the matter to the prosecutor, who usually has about 30 days to decide whether they want to pursue action, or otherwise, issue a DTP Notice (Decline to Prosecute). So, based on their info as of now, this is who I think would have probable cause to be prosecuted vs who a prosecutor would likely decline to prosecute:
(BTW this is different from my view of how they’d be found after a trial, so it does not factor in their defenses or any factors in aggravation or mitigation. Maybe I’ll do another post on that if people want)
*Committed Murder:*
Haruka- first degree murder with lesser included possibility of second degree.
I’m pretty sure he killed an actual child, not just an apparition or metaphorically killing himself. Tack on additional charges for animal cruelty.
Muu- First degree murder with lesser included possibility of second degree.
Being 16, with a public murder, she’d probably be tried as an adult.
If she brought the box cutter to school it would suggest premeditation or planning. It should be noted that premeditation and deliberation can form, and be legally argued of forming in a mere second- so even if she didnt bring that cutter to school or plan it out intensively it could still be premeditated and deliberate under the law.
However second degree murder is likely more appropriate and would ultimately be an easier trial strategy to pursue in the absence of any additional evidence of premeditation.
Amane- First degree murder with lesser included possibility of second degree at worst, potentially pled down to voluntary manslaughter
Mind you she’d be adjudicated in Juvenile court as a minor below the age of 14; in some places she’d be tried as an adult, but if she had a defense attorney that was even slightly good it’d be transferred to juvenile court. So her potential punishment and sentencing would differ from everyone else’s because the guidelines differ.
Her charges would be the same though. Premeditation could be established by viewing her at the point she found the evidence that the cat died, walking home with the smile and promptly beating her mother to death. Its also usually pretty easy to establish premeditation and deliberation when the method of murder is beating to death.
Her background however would likely make a prosecutor think twice about going for first degree. Coupling that with the nature of her relationship with the victim, I think if the case wasn’t already resolved on insanity (because of the delusions and hallucinations she seemed to suffer leading up to the murder), a prosecutor would strike a plea deal for voluntary manslaughter.
Amane’s is likely the most complicated legally with both the nuances of juvenile adjudication and the specific facts of her case so this is far from comprehensive.
Mikoto- First degree murder, multiple counts because I think he murdered multiple people
Even though it seems random that he’d just murder some people he saw on the street its likely that the jury would buy into the premeditation forming quickly here. Especially if he murdered multiple people. Plus that scene in MeMe where the one guy is crawling on the ground and Mikoto smashes his head with the bat, its easy to argue premeditation formed when he lifted the bat to swing down.
I want to point out that at the moment I’ve isolated, which is the initial pressing of criminal charges, whether he is legally insane is not of consequence. There’s a lot going into this but a competency or insanity hearing wouldn’t occur until charges were filed against him. Plus, DID is not among the disorders recognized as rendering someone incompetent to stand trial or to establish legal “insanity”. I’m getting ahead of myself but absent any element of delusion or hallucination he is incredibly unlikely to succeed on an insanity defense anyways. He is also very unlikely to get a guilty but mentally ill verdict (which just sits between insanity and flat out guilty) for the same reasons but I suppose its more likely than insanity.
Kotoko- First degree murder. She planned it meticulously. Premeditation is obvious. And prosecutors love taking the opportunity to deter vigilante justice. With no obvious defenses this is the easiest case to make.
*Did not commit murder:*
Kazui- He definitely ruined her life and acted selfishly. But, he did not commit murder.
Mahiru - She was an overbearing and potentially toxic partner. But toxicity alone doesn’t make her a murderer when her partner commits suicide.
*Maybe committed murder depending on location and additional circumstances:*
Yuno- LET ME BE CLEAR, to ME, its not murder. But unfortunately whether she’s charged with murder now depends on her location. No California prosecutor would charge her. A Texan prosecutor would. Were it up to me, she’d be in the unambiguous not charged section.
Shidou- He confuses me. If he violated the standard protocol for organ donation and removal of life support (judging by his voice line of “youre in my way, die already”), a prosecutor would potentially charge him with criminally negligent homicide or manslaughter. There’s nuances to this but under the law we treat braindead people as people for the purpose of crimes committed against them. for instance, raping someone in a coma (JUST AN EXAMPLE) is still charged as rape of another person, despite being brain dead. Another example, someone random coming into another person’s hospital room and pulling the plug is still murder, because they lacked the authorization and consent to remove life support. So if Shidou acted outside of the scope of his professional duties and the standard protocol for removal of life support and organ donation, it could still be charged as murder, notwithstanding whether the victim was braindead.
BUT, if he followed the standard protocol, and was simply callous about the concept of brain death and organ donation until his wife/kids died, then it’s not murder.
*Would be charged with something else:*
Fuuta - He wouldnt be charged with murder outright but the facts of his case-stalking, doxxing victim and encouraging online hate campaign leading to suicide- would support an involuntary manslaughter charge.

talent and expectations | arturo giles rant
I was really hesitant to post this here, but it has been a while since I've posted an analysis and I feel like Arturo isn't talked enough, so why not. This was written on a twt thread that was meant for me and one friend so it's a bit messy. Also take into account that we're lacking a lot of info on him so none of this is my definitive opinion and I'm sure my thoughts will change and develop when more DRDT releases. And like in all my rants, this is just my opinion and interpretation, and I 100% respect other different perspectives!
VERY messy, very incoherent thoughts and opinions.
Much like David, Teruko, Arei and Ace, among other DRDT characters, Arturo is another example of a person who closed themselves off emotionally to the point of losing empathy because they dont want to face their issues. I feel like the fandom fails to see this because he's the icky one, the one that makes people uncomfortable. There's nothing wrong with being uncomfortable with Arturo's actions, he IS a weirdo, but I think it's a shame that he isn't as understood and talked about as the other characters who fall into this. I would even say that this is a huge part of DRDT's message. You have to open yourself up to others and trust, you have to face your reality, and so on.
Arturo outright denies what happened with his sister because he can't handle the guilt that would come to admit that he had some sort of responsibility over his sister's suicide. If we take his word for it, his sister commited suicide because of him leaving to make his own life (although I don't doubt there's more to it), which he absolutely rejects and denies to the point of threatening Eden. This comes from the extreme distress the situation gives him. He often shows being emotionally closed off, being extremely evasive of his issues, and a lack of empathy constant through the game that is in no small part because of this. Because if you hate and reject others and don't even stop to consider the effect your words has on them, then your mind is at peace and you don't have to face these flaws. It's like they don't even exist- just like Arturo himself says, they're all below human to him. In return, he seems deeply affected by J's rejection and attitude, so it's easy to assume that he is generally affected by other people's actions, just shuts that down more often than not. Arturo is a mess, he's full of contradictions, but this is not all that surprising considering his life until now.
We know that all DRDT characters are over 18, but Arturo is specifically 18. As far as I know, Min has mentioned being 18 on her bonus episode, so considering a few years should have passed, she is probably above 18, or exactly 18. Either way, this makes Arturo one of the youngest, if not the youngest in the cast. And yet, I feel like the fandom fails to see this sometimes and always expect better from him— which is another focal point of his character, in my opinion, and the next point i want to go into. Just like the meme says, I feel like a lot of people have fallen for the character's facade that's meant to be dismantled by the viewer, much like David's lies (I will keep bringing him up bc he's the easiest to compare, but this applies to many other characters, which makes me believe even more that it's the case for Arturo too).
I believe the point of Arturo's characterization is that your talent doesnt translate to actual ability when faced with certain situations, and also, that intelligence doesnt translate to maturity. This is more easily seen in David and his complex relationship with his speech persona and the world as a whole, but that's a different topic that many people have already delved into and not the point of this rant. (I will sidetrack for a second to say that one of my favorite things about DRDT is how you can make some sort of connection between almost any duo of characters, it's really interesting to me how they're all just constantly projecting their issues onto each other despite how much they have in common). But we can still see it on Arturo, especially with his attitude during the trial when he doesn't see himself as able to save Levi, of course he doesn't, he's young and doesn't have the type of experience the others assume he has. Adding to this that Arturo started studying ONLY plastic surgery since he was 12, it's easy to assume that he hasn't grown up normally, even more if he did actually leave his house to pursue his studies. I believe that Arturo's immaturity (despite his intelligence) comes from here.
Part of me hopes that Arturo doesn't get a redemption arc like Arei, I hope he doesnt get redeemed at all, because a lot of people can only sympathise when a character shows the specific emotions they can sympathise with (fear, sadness and regret, mostly) but as soon as they break that mold, there's a lack of willingness to sympathise and understand them (I have a separate rant on my twt priv about how characters who display anger instead of sadness are way more disliked and misunderstood, if anyone wants me to post it I'll think about it, although it's even more personal than this one). I think it'd be more interesting if he takes a different direction, although I'm definitely very curious to see how will Ace's words affect him in the future, and whether Levi lives or dies.
Lastly, although obviously DRDT is a fangan and not an official game, I think it's important to remember one of the core aspects of Danganronpa when discussing DRDT, which is how talents affect people's lives and personalities. This is easily seen in many DRDT characters so I won't go too into it aside from Arturo. We have characters whose whole personalities were shaped around their talent (Junko being the biggest example, but many others come to mind), and I believe Arturo is another example of this that goes unnoticed. Veronika herself has theorized that Arturo's initial slight aversion towards ugliness, before it was an actual issue, was worsened by his talent. Obviously Veronika isn't Arturo, but judging by his reaction and her talent to pinpoint people's deepest issues, we can assume this is true to an extent. This also connects to Arturo's quote about Mai: ''A girl who sees the beauty in everyone''. So there's definitely more to his personality than meets the eye, and as ''weird'' (i hate the use of that word esp in fandom spaces) as he is, I don't think he's all that worse or hard to comprehend than the rest.
My original rant stopped here so I don't really know how to end it. But I hope it was interesting!

I think dressed to kill is my favorite of your work but you always come out with bangerd. I’m glad to see you’re starting to feel better.
thank you! I really appreciate that and I have to admit that dressed to kill is also one of my favorites (even if I sometimes feel I say that about all of them) because it's really fun to play into Alec's obliviousness and the fact that he sometimes also uses it as a shield because he's active duty, he's a commander and he has a very magical husband.
he does not have time for things like figuring what mundanes are thinking or doing. he did a crash course and that was all the time he'll invest in it, thank you very much. Magnus has already promised him memory wipes if it goes too poorly.
magnus also just, is having the absolute time of his life this entire series. I realize not enough has been from his point of view but he is absolutely here for every aspect and new side of himself that Alec shows Magnus.
also Simon. I really love using Simons pov for them in this fic (and it's not because I like/don't like Simon if I had an opinion on him it's pretty much faded over the last year meaning I don't actually remember. i'm sure once I rewatch Shadowhunters i'll remember but then is not now) but I do know that I really enjoy the contrast of his pov vs the reality of malec and this is one of the few fics where Alec like... starts challenging the image of himself Simon has in his head.
he's not even trying to do it. Alec certainly doesn't care what Simon thinks of him but he needs his mundane expertise so like, just by those interactions he's simultaneously destroying and reshaping simon's view of the world bits and pieces at a time.
meanwhile Alec has no idea and is just like, 'yeah I always need tea and cuddles after talking to Simon and learning about mundanes. it's so exhausting. I can't understand him half the time.' (because Simon keeps trying to teach Alec things using memes and references that Alec doesn't know and then using more memes and references to explain it in a different way that still doesn't work. simon is always ridiculously tickled and dumbfounded when Alec randomly pulls out a mundane cultural reference that he learned via Magnus)
also Alec is not fucking with him on purpose, he's amused when he does fuck with Simon but he doesn't care enough to do it on purpose. he just tends to go with the flow and simon's against the current.
Also when Magnus realizes that the byproduct of Alec getting his knowledge from Simon who got his info primarily from media and comics and research + whatever kid!safe stories Luke shared or they overheard, he of course is going to show Alec a bunch of the old like classic mobster/gangster films.
I have no idea what they are because I probably haven't seen any of them but I know they exist and Alec is just. Alec is trying to be suave and sophisticated and slightly sexy (no he did not pick up on the women in the film being sexy, Magnus pointed it out to him in a very delighted manner because he had to rewind five times and point it out a different way each time before Alec got it and he still didn't get it) in a way that really just comes across as dangerous, deadly and slightly erotic. Magnus is just, he's really having the time of his life with this. it's like he and Alec are going on those fantasy dates? you know the mystery murder or the medieval castle or flappers era etc?
this is that for them. except it's free, prime entertainment and while it can be a little dull sometimes, they also get information.
and also they get to flirt a lot more. like everyone is too scared to break them apart at these parties. It's great. they never get away with making out this long at most shadowworld events.
alec is just really enjoying this mostly uninterrupted time with Magnus where he doesn't have to worry about setting a good example for his Shadowhunters and can just ignore everyone but Magnus like he wants to do 24/7.
that got longer than I intended, but thanks for the ask <3

Taylor Swift frequently references other media in her work in a number of ways. Visual references to films like Wizard of Oz in her music videos, auditory references to Jimmy Eat World in Clara Bow, Dead Poets Society references in TTPD… I speculate she uses dozens if not hundreds of pieces of media to add context to her songs and performances.
It’s important to remember that at her root, Taylor is far more than “just a pop star” or even “just a performance artist.” At her root, Taylor is a storyteller, and one who has an enormous array of methods and modalities of storytelling. Writing songs is just one.
Because of this, because Taylor loves cramming as many layers of meaning as she can into every word or phrase, and because Crestfallen by Smashing Pumpkins is one of my all time favorite songs, it didn’t take me long after discovering Champagne Problems to wonder…
Wait. Does “Crestfallen on the landing” have multiple layers of meaning?
Not just “I’m feeling Crestfallen while I’m standing here on this landing” but also…
…the song Crestfallen is literally playing (or metaphorically running through her mind) while this event is occurring?
And so that got me just considering Champagne Problems more through that lens, adding that context of Crestfallen, taking two of the most heartbreaking songs from two artists I love…
(sometimes I think I just enjoy breaking my own heart)
And especially because I have always viewed Champagne Problems as a karma-type scenario, a tale of 2 engagements/marriages. One where Taylor leaves her muse standing alone, one where her muse leaves Taylor standing alone…
And Taylor understanding in that moment, finally, the pain she’d caused.
Now look, are these literal engagements/marriages, are they another instance of Taylor explaining business using relationships as metaphors, are they maybe less formal in the sense that they’re less weddings and more agreements to come out together or handfastings or agreements to be more exclusive or to prioritize the relationship over the career?
Who knows if we will ever know, the way Miss “keep it secret, keep it safe,” “every bait and switch was a work of art,” “I can show you lies,” tends to write and rewrite and contextualize and recontexualize everything in her life. And hell, it may even be more than 2 specific scenarios being discussed here and she’s talking about events that have been cyclical in her life…. *throws up hands*
Either way, It’s interesting to consider and it’s heartrending if you layer the added sentiment of Crestfallen atop it.
And it’s also interesting cause Crestfallen came out in 1998 and I know a lot of people theorize Taylor wanted to release a rock album named 1998, and that she’s Easter egged that year in the past so media from this year may be of specific interest to her.
And look, I’m probably never going to have significant evidence that she deliberately intended this, beyond a “general vibe”
But also… I don’t really care? One of the things that has been the most fascinating about developing theories surrounding the Taylor Swift Multimedia Universe and trying to figure out which albums and films and songs and poems and books and performances are being referenced by Taylor in her art and albums and performances is just…
Tumblr media
The process of the theorycrafting is exceptionally fun. The process of considering media in the context of Taylor’s art and looking for evidence that they’re connected is extremely fun.
It’s fun in that way a lot of us have lacked since we were in school writing book reports and film analyses for fun.
It’s also fun in a very nostalgia-pilled, memecore fashion that no it’s Becky would absolutely vibe with. And remember: Taylor is seemingly simultaneously existing across many eras right now. She can’t use her social media to meme the way she used to.
But she’s still memeing. Hiding clips and references to all her favorite franchises in her work.
Tumblr media
I dunno what point I was trying to make; I kinda just got high and info dumped into my tumblr sooo sorry

BEN Drowned headcanons
Finally I’m getting around to posting my current standing BEN Drowned HCs! The ask I got a couple weeks ago definitely motivated me to finish this finally lmao.
Trigger warnings for: Mentions of death, manipulation, suicide, drowning, violence, and the general mature stuff you should expect from the adult side of the Creepypasta fandom. There are NO CENSORS BEYOND THIS POINT. Read at your own risk.
____________________________________________
ageless/has kinda always existed since the internet has been publicly accessible
It/it’s pronouns, occasionally caught using they/them and even rarer he/him
Manipulative as fuck
Malewhore mansplain manipulate
Literally makes up a huge chunk of its personality idk what to tell you
Will doxx you
No seriously if you catch its attention you’re getting stalked
Stalks potential victims through the internet
Finds potential victims on forums and the “dark web”
Often goes after people who are heavily depressed and/or suicidal
Thinks it’s funny telling people to off themselves
Like fr its favorite hobby is basically being an average redditor
Probably the WORST mf to date out of all of my interpretations of Creepypasta characters
Gives zero shits about anyone besides itself
Seriously it does not care about you Y/N RUN!!!!!
Lies lies lies omg loves lying so much
Lies to get what it wants
Master “hacker”
If it’s stalking you say goodbye to any and all digital important things you have
Say goodbye to your laptop too
And switch
And iPhone
It’s all getting bricked by BEN if it finds it funny to do so
And it probably will
You like sleep? Too bad
Woe, nightmares be upon ye
Gaslighting KING. Deletes messages between you and people in your life on purpose
Has extensive knowledge of internet culture and video games
Knows every meme ever
Has created most of the “video game” Creepypastas as their own personal “proxies”
Sonic.exe, Smile.jpeg, The Princess, etc, anything inhabiting digital media that torments people, BEN is the one behind it all
Finds friendships useless but respects Slenderman enough to continue being a proxy for it
Got bored of tormenting the other pastas pretty fast, generally avoids them unless slender tasks it with giving specific info pulled from the web to the other pastas (news articles, police reports, locations, etc)
Out of all my HC characters BEN is probably the most serious/grimdark/gritty, I prommy not all my blorbos are as mature and serious as BEN
Takes on the form of a late teenage boy’s body, waterlogged pale skin, constantly glitching and dripping water. Speaks in at least five different voices/tones at once, including robotic AI voices
Only physically manifests to scare the fuck out of people
Stans Hatsune Miku
SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER!
All these HCs are for BEN! Not Ben!!!!
Because after much deliberation I have decided that yeah I kinda do want some of the old BEN middle school me liked to fuck around with. So without further ado, here’s my Ben headcanons:
Created BEN as an AI program for when he can’t be at his computer
BEN is kinda like their “avatar” for the internet
He/they pronouns
Roughly about 20 years old, give or take a few years
Died in the mid 2000s in college
Went back home one weekend to pick up some furniture and whoopsies dad sacrificed me to the cult I tried to escape from
Obviously had a not so great home life. Chose the furthest college on purpose just to get away
His father never saw him as anything more than a bargaining chip and pawn for the cult of the moon children
The sacrifice and his death were what caused the mental split between himself and the AI
One half of him remained tethered to his physical corpse, the other half manifested itself as what is now the BEN AI
He can be in two places at once technically
He’s unsure if they count as two people or one. On the one hand, BEN is a manifestation of his apathy and agony from his death and did come from his own mind. On the other hand, BEN is able to function completely independently of Ben
After years of practice and honing their technical skills, Ben was able to fine tune the BEN AI into what it is today
I mean hell, the BEN AI wasn’t always this powerful and organized. The first few years after Ben’s death, he could barely get ahold of it
Sort of??? A ghost?? Like a fusion between a ghost and zombie
Like is obviously a corpse and can kinda go in and out of corporeal and non corporeal form
Has the skin tone and feel of a freshly drowned corpse, but isn’t constantly dripping water
Eyes constantly leak and drip with blood tho. Tissues are scattered all around his room with his futile attempts to keep the blood tears at bay. Face has a “pinker” color compared to the rest of his body thanks to how many times they’ve wiped and smeared the blood around
First they take your eyes, then they carve symbols you don’t understand into your flesh, and then they drown you. Smh
They’re much more faded now, but Ben has the scars of symbols the moon children cult used during his sacrifice
Similar in behavior/personality as BEN but toned way the fuck down
Like. Still enjoys tormenting people but can (sort of) empathize
Still an asshole tho
And a pervert
And a stoner
And a gamer
He’s a discord Reddit mod irl. Scummy guy tbh
Not afraid of water, just afraid of water damage on their equipment
Lives in the mansion basement
Hasn’t seen sunlight since 2004
Introverted as fuck
Prefers to be physically manifested, leaves all the digital movement to the BEN AI but can enter technology if need be
Cheats in any and all video games you play against him in. Hacker aficionado
Y’all know those fits people used to wear in the 2010s of like, cargo shorts and legend of Zelda t shirts? Almost exclusively his fashion sense
Like yeah he does have the link getup but finds it pretty tedious to get into
Does enjoy scene fashion quite a bit tho
And EDM
electronic stuff in general is his favorite shit ever
Him and the BEN AI never physically kill people, just manipulates them into offing themselves
He’s a weak motherfucker he physically cannot kill somebody
Emotionally tho he would mass murder if he could
The one thing him and Jeff can agree on
Bi, and aro. Kinda too horny and despondent to society to care for someone emotionally for more than twelve seconds
Could definitely stand to make a few friends though, and isn’t opposed to conversation if he ever leaves his gamer basement
Currently friends with EJ, Jane, Liu, Nina, and Helen
Has a tolerable relationship/mutual respect for Masky, Hoody, Jason, Puppeteer, and Slenderman
Doesn’t get along with/hates Jeff, LJ, and Clockwork
Sally sees him as an older brother figure. Unfortunately he’s a bad influence on the kid and also has no idea how to look after a child, he just kinda goes “fuck it we ball” anytime someone puts them in charge of Sally. Has taught her every swear and slur known to man. Thinks it’s hilarious to put her on the mic in gamer lobbies
“Hey dude check this out” proceeds to show you the nastiest shock video ever
Semi-fluent in Japanese despite being whiter than paper. Unsurprisingly a weeb
If he owns a body pillow he keeps it hidden with his life. They won’t be caught dead cuddling up to something like that at night
The mansion’s go to IT guy. Against his will but unfortunately if he wants to continue living in the mansion (or living in general) he has to take this role lest slenderman eviscerates him for defiance
Both him and the BEN AI have a major superiority complex, he thinks he’s way better than everyone else and is the cockiest bastard mf on the planet
Stans Hatsune Miku

politely batting my eyelashes about the astra inclinant tumblr drama
Oh god. If you have more specific questions, let me know, but:
The problems would vary a bit depending on point in canon. ALSO LIKE IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING EVERYTHING BELOW IS NOT CANON AND DOES NOT HAPPEN FOR VARIOUS REASONS ETC. the foremost reason being there’s no reason why they’d all be forced to Social Media, but if they had to —
General problems: Saint drama. The Saints are mostly a bunch of drama-mongering terrible people of varying shades and they would sic their followers on each other and do petty vague blogging like a bunch of middle schoolers. Saint Solis would not participate only because he cannot be bothered. He would have an inbox full of anon hate messages he didn’t read. He would have posted like one single time, only because he had to. Saving this comment here:
Tumblr media
He would not know or care that he got meme-ified. It would almost certainly be one sentence and would be dry or snippy as fuck.
Disciples would blog like teenagers because most of them *are* teenagers, so the usual problems would apply. Caladia specifically would be a fuckin tumblr powerhouse because she is into like everything and has lots of snappy rebuttals to The Discourse. River as a teenager would only reluctantly engage with fandom content (or lgbt content) because he was a little shy about it at that stage.
Apostle Solis would use his almost exclusively for reblogging #certified bug posts from his students. I think he’d get a lot of cute asks from his disciples, but they’re nosy, so they’d also try to anon probe personal info out of him with no luck.
(He already has an official communication channel elsewhere for conveying updates relevant to class, etc. but that would all remain on an official communication platform the station controls. So that part wouldn’t be different from canon.)
He would maybe sometimes make little personal posts, but of a very generic and nice variety. Photo of his tea or something. Photo of the sticker someone gave him. Solis is not evading his inherent teacher vibes. Saint Solis would be like, legally obligated to look at what he posts lest his Apostle embarrass him, and he consequently would think that everything the Apostle posted is asinine but wouldn’t be able to do anything about this because he’s not technically doing anything wrong. Privately really mad about it when Zihrun (on THE most bland professional account you can possibly imagine) always likes the Apostle’s posts. (He’s not special. The Commander would just Like all the higher staff’s posts for optics.)
I made my friend go NOOOOOO BABY!!!!!!!!!! ): about this part but like, plot-element specific things:
> For the sake of Fun Pretend Scenario, if Tumblr existed on both sides of the veil and could connect (perhaps unbeknownst to most people or something idk), Ch 11.5 River would spend several weeks post-recovery agonizing over what to do before finally, finally working up the courage to look at Solis’ Tumblr, only to find it’s exactly the same as usual and that he has not said even the vaguest word about Going Through It. The “maybe something went wrong and he didn’t want to do this to me” -> “maybe he actually doesn’t care about me at all” teeter-totter would be so much worse. The already-upset and traumatized teenager does not need more reasons to overthink himself into a crying mess. (He would then proceed to swear off social media for the next two years, which is probably for the best.)
> ~19ish year old River and onward would have a new, remade account under a different handle and he would use it for collecting cute mlm fanart (even of stuff he’s not familiar with) and talking about stuff he’s reading, etc. Maybe would also reblog moodboards and nice quotes/poetry sometimes. Post-canon would be much the same except he would ALSO post nauseating sappy TLDR about how much he loves his significant other (whose identity he does not disclose at all because uhhh technically not allowed). Would tag those relatable romantic relationship text posts with “#him 💚💜” or something similar.)
Solis never likes/interacts with anything on his account in the case of the post-canon stuff (for plausible deniability reasons), but every time River catches him scrolling through it he’s like /chinhands “do you like my posts about you? 💕” and delights in the flustered reaction this nets him.

WTF?! AKA girl that studied Advertising doesn't understand how this happened.
Sooooo, Neil Gaiman, huh?
Disclosure: I started this in the following 2 weeks after the news broke (maybe earlier than that, I don't remember) but, hey, my job sucks and more often than not my brain was just too dead to even try and get back to this. And then even more claims appeared and Vera Wylde (AKA Council of Geeks) made 2 videos that pretty much alligned with my mindset (fun fact: now there are 3 videos now), still I had a few points that I wanted to address... and life got inbetween yet again... and now I'm done, I need to finish this otherwise it'll sit on my drafts for ever.
Fandom's still ablaze, people asking for more info are inmediately labeled as "SA supporters" other alleged claims surfaced and I wonder why none of the companies associated with the author are saying a thing about it... not even him has stepped foward to say anything and that is super odd.
In case you didn't know I've studied Advertising but decided against following a career in it because 1) my classmates work-ethic (or lack of) traumatized me, 2) I never really liked it (I just wanted to live off my Creativity), 3) because after spending 3 years learning every little thing that can make a person tick to buy something I can see certain patterns everywhere and 4) it is far too easy to make anyone believe anything and the idea of doing it and screwing people's lives as a job does not fit my own moral criteria.
That being said, don't you dare to think that this post is taking any kind of side or that I'm trying to push my career because I already gave you those 4 points of why I am not activately working on this field. All of this will be a head-first delve into how those 3 years in College shaped my way of thinking (basically a "no feelings, just bussiness") and trying to have a somewhat broader picture.
I just have a perspective that most of the fandom doesn't have and I wanted to share it.
Just in case, I am not looking foward to whatever conversations could occur from now on and most likely won't interact with any of them if I sense any kind of bad blood.
Full disclousure: even though I am a casual enjoyer of Neil Gaiman's stories I have zero idea of how he is or was back in the day. Everything I say is based off on my observations both in-fandom and from what I can see from my country (Argentina) that is located at World's End quite literally... we don't get much gossip here unless is something BIG.
First off, lets clear some air:
1. Writing about horrible things doesn't mean that someone a bad person. I mean....
Tumblr media
(Disclaimer: even if I do find the meme funny... I have 0 knowledge of anime or how this two artists interact with life and their fans).
But in all seriousness... how many crime shows exist/existed and will keep on existing? How many gory horror movies? How many books, comics, operas, musicals and so on that portray horrible crimes? Do all of those authors have a secret life as criminals? I don't think so.
Yes, having an affinity to the subject might give you a better know-how but is not mandatory... writers investigate a lot as well.
Art is meant to be an exploration and more often than not artists will take universal fears and turn them into something good and innocent or take something pure and turn it into a bloody nightmare... is supposed to show another perspective without any predjudice and allow us play with the weirdest and commonly frowned upon things in a safe and contained space.
If you are not an artist, you can still use the art as a conduit for this... but please don't turn into an Inquisitor, you're no better than us I swear.
2. If a person is anti-censorship... is against ANY kind of censorship. You can't pick and choose what should be "good" or "bad" because that is also a form of censorship. Are there disgusting things out there? Yes. Do any of us have the right moral compass to condemn and/or ban something just because? No. (And even if I'm not very well versed in manga I can tell the difference between a work of fiction that has been drawn and actual p*rn that could've been produced by harming someone. Those things are not on the same level. Sick? Yes, but still unreal just like a lot of the NSFW drawings that I've seen in here).
3. The Zionism: many people came after Gaiman accusing him of supporting Israel because of some letter that was signed right after the Hamas' attack. Siding with the civilian victims is always the first reaction even if as a jewish he is supposed to know better the reality of things, this is not mandatory because maybe he doesn't engage in religion or geopolitics that much. Later he did posted on Twitter (according to some) a few links to assist people in Palestine, I know he did shared one or two Instagram stories with this as well and of course, lately posted about a friend that got jailed for protesting against Israel. However many still support the "he is a Zionist" because he -as many others- said that the solution would be for both countries to live at peace. So... it was an easy neutral response trying not to cater to either side whether if it conveys his real sentiment or if he did it to secure his position among his followers or because he didn't wanted to upset someone he might know/work for that thinks different or didn't wanted to get into a polemic bigger than himself is up for debate.
OK Lets put the little grey cells to work
Many claims that started to populate Reddit (mostly) seem to go all the way back to the 90s where stuff like this wasn't talked about mostly because he was just another DC writer and social media + cellphones with camera didn't existed.
I do wonder how did he presented himself back then.
Even if Sandman was a huge success, both comics and mixing them up with greek mythology makes it very niche (niche is an official Advertising word, I swear). So even if DC properties like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and others were very well known and bought... I don't know how many of those readers jumped into Gaiman's Sandman and stick to it (I've even seen people in Tumblr complaining of "Gaiman's atrocity called Sandman") let alone how many thought of him as a genius.
Apparently he did had people showing up in signature events (were conventions a thing back then? I live in the other side of the world and have no idea) and apparently almost like a rock-star he had groupies following him. I am a rocker at heart, we all know about groupies but I really didn't needed to know that the literary kind existed as well, thank you very much.
There are two things I'd like to address here.
First of all that, given the nature of the movement, these girls were throwing themselves at him. It is still wrong to take advantage of it, but as we know men are needy AF so it only takes for one woman to be kind to them and they'll see how to get her to bed. Manly nature 🙄 That being said, considering that these were basically one-night-stands I don't think that he would've gone too far with any of them. Still...
The second point is... WHAT THE HELL WAS DC DOING? Probably many of you think "well, probably they are all perverts" and yeah, you have a point... but still you need to save face. You can't have one of your key writers (?) picking up girls in official events that you organized and take them to bed. Even with its ups and downs on the industry, DC had (and has) a prestige to keep. If we are thinking about late 1989 and early 90s they were riding the crest with Burton's Batman you can't have a scandal like this about to burst! It was just a matter of time till someone picked up on it and did something about it (think of a girl's family, group of friends, partner, what-have-you).
And even if Sandman was too niche it was still making good money for them... the possible movie rights were probably always in talks back then... and you'll risk that just because "men will be men"? WHAT KIND OF BUSSINESS DO YOU CONDUCT? Even if it is the 90's... you don't want to be associated with a sleaze bag. Not to mention that even with all of this he wasn't perceived as a "winner" among men as well... you know the type "oh, look how viril and manly he is... all the girls want him" kinda thing. So just why?
Did the publishers see it coming?
As I said the Reddit claims seem to be from the 90s (or at least from The Time With No Virtual Fingerprints) I've got yet to read anyone saying that he did a pass on them on a recent Comic-Con or book signing. (N: I started to write this before the third and fourth & fifth women came foward. However, the point sort of still stands)
This could be because 1) technology made it almost impossible to keep a secret or 2) because the publishers decided to open the umbrella before it started to rain.
If his reputation was well known it wouldn't surprise me that other companies might've put a clause in their contracts about his behaviour. Even we, working-class ants, have Codes of Conduct and Ethics in our mundane jobs... so OF COURSE this also exist in celebrities' contracts as well.
A publisher would never want to be involved into a scandal let alone a possible sex scandal with an author that doesn't just write "dark fantasies" but children's stories as well. You can't market a sexopath as a"kind and gentle uncle-like figure" that will read stories to your kids. I mean, with the right Ad team you can totally pull it off but it is A LOT EASIER if he just behaves.
Still you can't control a person's actions outside the professional enviroment AKA their personal life, and even if you must have a Ad team in case of any possible disturbance... they will focus more on the Company's Image than the person's.
In this case, Gaiman should have a personal Publicist. And for what I've seen I do think that he has a team but not necesarily a Publicist ready to tackle on a scandal, just a regular one that "gets him out there" and probably throws some ideas for posts and secures the Ads for any convention or media related project.
When you work with a public person you must work as Communitty Manager as well but the real trick is finding the right balance between your posts and your clients'.
The CM's posts will be very basic info for appearences in different events/media or new releases. What people really wants is a sneak-peak on a person's life and unless you are someone that is with them 24/7, it depends on this person's to do those posts (more often than not those who took those candid videos or photos are either friends/family or a super personal and close assitants). We do know that Gaiman has at least one assitant (plus representation for USA and UK, maybe someone else) how ever I have my doubts about him having a Publicist for his persona. Why would I say that?
Neil Gaiman has no socials
The joke has being going on for ages, regardless of how it was born it tells us that it is him who manages his own socials (at least the most "intimate" posts because with the whole Twitter/X/Xitter fiasco he did established that in that network he'll "be present" either by automated posts that depend on other socials or because someone who works for him will post tour dates on his behalf). The easiest one to pin point is Tumblr... nobody cares about Tumblr.
In light of all that has happened one of the most recent asks came to my mind: Someone once asked him if he was in a kink party some years back. Many rushed into explaining the Rules of Kink to the asker, some nicer than others but what stood out for me was... why answering this? Even with a "not really my thing, I left without participating" it was a lot easier to just leave it unanswered. He has stated that even if he had thousands of asks he'll pick a few of the newest ones and answer only if he thought they deserved to be answered. So why shooting yourself on the foot? Especially under the assumption that someone could say a thing or two about it. Like, fair enough whatever happens in there remains there... but if you are in it and you leave the door open with a half-assed answer... people will talk.
No Publicist in the world would've let that fly (not even in a niche site like Tumblr)... our job is to avoid this kind of loose threads that might be spun into something completely out of our control and opposite to the narrative we are aiming to.
Again...
Tumblr media
Was he panicking about someone that saw him many years back in this gathering? Did he thought it gave him "cool points"? Did he thought that it was better to address it than letting the rumor running (and eventually die)? Was he half asleep and thought that he dreamt having answered and then forgot?
Why putting your neck on the noose?
Men 🤦🏻‍♀️
This little slip made me realize that he doesn't have a propper Publicist so the chances of them prepping some letter or statement about the situation are very slim. I'll talk about this later.
The Podcast
I can't really move foward without giving some space to Ground Zero.
But as I was writing this, Council of Geeks, (hosted by Vera Wylde, someone I've been following since long before their comming out and more often than not found to be very like-minded) a channel that I was hoping to tackle this, made a very well thought out video that I highly recommend. There are a few things for which I have my own hypotesis and if I remember, I'll write down in here.
Back to the first podcast I must admit that I did not listen to it because I have no time or will to do it (burnout from work is great!) and I am a better reader than a listener (my mind usually drifts off when I listen to anything even if I'm interested in it -doesn't happen with in person conversations, luckily probably because there is a face attached to the voice-). I did read several posts about it and the Rolling Stone article some cite as well. Aside from some personal observations, the core information remains the same reason why I trust that I can actually talk about it.
I will not discredit the testimonies since I have no reason to do so but I can talk about other stuff like how media dehumanizes terrible things and about some things that do cause some noise to me (noise in Advertising is when something disturbs the message and doesn't make it clear).
I know that all of you are moved by both stories regardless of how they were presented but the True Crime genre is sensacionalist AF and it thrives because people is morbid, and that's a fact.
When I had cable mom watched a few True Crime shows every now and then and I've always found them distasteful. The quick editing with effects, dramatic narration like "When Margaret woke up that morning, she could've never imagined that all her nightmares would come true" *cue to dramatic music* is very f#cked up. These are real cases, with real people involved, with people suffering for their loved ones... but for the networks is just entertainement, hours and hours to fill in their schedule + ad revenue. How many cases were actually solved after being on TV/a podcast? How many more people started to plead for justice after it was aired? These kind of shows are empty and milk on someone's suffering for a few bucks, it is never about justice, is never about exposing something/someone. Is all about money.
And for what I can see... this podcast is no different than others. Even the title "Master: The Neil Gaiman Allegations" is some Fifty shades of Grey sh!t that sounds attractive but considering the content it is in very poor taste to say the least.
When people (and I include myself) ask for a more serious take on the subject is because of this... we need information that is not meant to be consumed while eating popcorn and soda with a few breaks to clutch pearls and then move on with our lives.
If this was the only media outlet that opened the doors to both women they should've done better. It is a serious matter... a special report, lets say a 2 hr youtube video captioned "The True face of Gaiman" or "Gaiman's dark side" (or being 100% honest and title it "Gaiman's victims speak") would've erased any kind of doubt among ocassional listeners but no... they named it "Master" because it conveys BSDM, sex and trivializes the story to make it sound like erotica, not a real story. This wasn't an accident or a bad idea caused by inexperience... the name was chosen on purpose. They needed to get people's attention and get them on this "dark" and "taboo" world where this kind of practices (BSDM) is frowned upon. They wanted to predispose you to start this on the wrong foot.
But the stories are real! Don't try to silence the victims!
I'm not denying this, I'm just saying that Tortoise Media's Podcast doesn't care about the victims as much as you all seem to think.
They saw that Gaiman was involved so they picked up the story because they wanted clout, other media outlets (so far) passed on it because is a he said/she said case that is very hard to prove, reason why the police itself alledgedly decided not to move foward with it either. Does it suck? Yes. Does it mean that Tortoise is brave for bringing it up? No, they could've been... had they not give up to the need of making a freakshow out of it to get people's attention.
And like that Advertising trained me to be a Devil's Advocate.
The easiest way for me to show you how any Publicist out there would get things going to save his reputation is by using the tools that could (or eventually will) be used. So let us begin.
Missing context: Aside from the whole issue with the power dinamics (that we'll talk about it later) we don't really know how any of their first meetings really went. We know that it was the first day of work for the nanny... but was it really the first time they've met? If she was around Palmer, most likely they've seen each other before, maybe they've talked and hit it off... we don't know. Same with the first fan, they were writing each other for a year, we don't know what they ever talked about or how their relationship evolved. And this is aplicable in all cases. We were told the story from the first moment he became physical, not the real first contact. What does it matter? He's still a perv! Yeah, until context can tell you that he isn't... I've seen so many takes that all the sudden turned him into a scary monster lurking in the dark, preying on young little innocent girls... and never before he was ever addressed like that even by people that probably knew about his reputation or just plainly hated him for whatever reason. This is all made up by the narrative shown in the podcast (I mean the editing and narration) and the masses' imagination.
He stops when rejected: Three claims say that he stopped at the moment the woman/girl said no: the fan at the bus (even with his "I can get whatever I want" or whatever he said he did let her go when easily could've forced himself on her), the publisher that got kissed (or almost kissed) and the first fan coming foward that rejected his suggestion of a threesome... that one, yes is the same one with the UTI. I wouldn't be surprised if he convinced her that he would be careful or something like that just to get her on bed. It is very shitty and selfish of him... there is no justification there. Whether this stems from self-preservation (not wanting to be known as a r*pist) or because he does care about consent or maybe because he wasn't *that* horny those times and could let it go... the truth is that he did stopped when asked to.
Mental health. The whole "she's unstable, her memory isn't the best" kind of comment came out of his lawyer (the one that the podcast keeps on mentioning as "Gaiman's side" and probably they knew from the begining what lawyer it was but delivered his name a lot later to shock audiences once more that he has the same lawyer that many other men in the same position hired. As if a lawyer's reputation couldn't grant him a good starting point to get new clients whether they are innocent or not) so it is a case of a lawyer being a lawyer. But yes, people tend to remember things differently, ask any family memeber or friend about something that caused a major shock on you and you'll see that they might not even rememeber it at all, and if they do, probably they'll say that you overreacted or something like that. It sucks, but it happens. There is a possibility that what was perceived as an innocent flirting by Gaiman is also something more sinister by any of those women. Maybe the years changed the light of the events and something that they considerated "ok" back then is a "well... actually" now. People change. One thing I did wanted to bring up was the su!cide comment. It is poorly placed in the conversation (or in the part of the conversation we were allowed to see, again: lots of missing context) and does sound heavily manipulative... until you realize that he has spoken about his su!cidal past any time he got asked in Tumblr, interviews or other... and if he's willing to speak about it with a bunch of strangers online, he has spoken about it with people close to him and if she was going through it he most definetly brought up his experiences to talk to her. Still, we don't really know, maybe is a 50/50 situation. His Autism: I'm not a psycologyst, can't confirm or deny if he has it or not, but as a human (and a Publicist) I can say that is the lamest and worst excuse he could've possible thrown. Is just as bad as anyone excuses their behaviour based on their zodiac sign. Maybe he does struggle to notice tones of voice or intentions behind interactions but acting on those fake cues is a lot more related to being a man than autistic. Man think that if a woman is nice to him is because she loves him, man take the first chance to make a move just because she smiled at him. Let's not mix things up.
The Power Imbalance + Age Gap Let's address the Age Gap first because there isn't much to it either way. I was the kind of girl that would be repulsed at age gaps but eventually I realized that, as long as they are consenting adults and there are real feelings behind it... I don't care. I do feel nauseated when a 20 year old dates or marries a 80 year old "sugar daddy" because I can't conceive in my head the idea of a person wilingly turning themselves into a blow-up doll for a mummy only because the later is richer than God. It is disgusting and I do not endorse it. Any other case... ok, whatever, live and let live. The Power Imbalance is another story. You can't date someone you work with or work for. Every single company has this rule not just to avoid dramas but also to avoid any misbehaviour in the premises. But what about when is not for a private company, like in this case? It is still a no, because the "if you don't make me happy I'll kick you out" ghost shows up creating a hostile enviroment for at least one of you... what kind of relationship can arise from it? (to be fair, some people maybe gets turned on by it, what do I know? I'm aroace). My suspicious mind... I see a pattern in Gaiman's behaviour aside from the one everyone made up in their minds (him preying on any girl close to him, even though two are around his age): The "cool" writer: from his break-out to somewhere into 2010 or so. His "groupie prime" if you will when he could get any girl that was interested in him (students, fans) because possibly considered himself some sort of idol and/or rockstar. This is between his 26 and 50 years old, that check's out, is when men usually think themselves to be the center of the world and the sole desire of any women. The "I need to fly low": in the last 20 years or so, when he already stablished a respectful reputation among peers and fans so he needs to stop sleeping around and be more selective and secretive about his partners because it only takes one tweet, one photo or one video to destroy everything he is. Enter NDAs. I dare to say that being with women from his inner circle (AKA people that either worked for him or some way or another depended on him) was another "brilliant idea" he had to try and keep his image and reputation out of harms way. Still one question remains... what kind of people could he date? Just those on his same circle/league? You could argue that Palmer was some-where there but I don't think that she has as many fans as him and she's nowhere as well known. Maybe other popular author (if any of them fancies him)? An actress? another singer? a politician? Options are quite narrow so he would go to the "commoners" and then, by mere chance, he'll be the all-powerful bestselling author dating a poor woman and some will see a power imbalanced relationship and to others yet another Cinderella story.
Just as The Tortoise Media took the stories, edited them and packed them for your shock and horror... it can be just as easily spun into something else. Anyone could get any of this points I've made and turn him into a misunderstood man looking for a love that would be into BSDM as he is and, unfortunally for him, some of his lovers realized too late that they didn't liked it so now he's seen as an ogre when he did nothing wrong.
Mulder said it first ...
Tumblr media
What could possibly happen
Am I reaching the end of this essay today (November 29th, 2024)? Are those angels singing? Please, tell them that I'm Agnostic, but I appreaciate the gesture. (Laurita on December 25th says: Oh! what a lie!)
At this point in time, Gaiman shows no proof of life, and most likely won't for another couple of months (maybe even for another year). His silence is not necessarily an admission of guilt. If he comes foward and gives his side of the story, he'll be the rich-white-author throwing crap at all these women and calling them liars, so he'll be a villain. If he admits that he has a problem (sex-addict or something like that) some people might be a little more simpathetic others will call him a liar and he'll still be a villain. There is no good outcome so, what's the difference? Is better just to remain silent.
We already know that Good Omens has been shortened to a special episode, Sandman was shot and will be released sometime in 2025 (most likely won't have another season not just because of Gaiman but because it was a struggle to secure the 2nd season for starters. The only way we could have a S3 is if the S2 is AMAZING and blows up all the numbers). The Anansi Boys... remains to be seen, supposedly it was shot, edited and is ready to be released so it is a matter of whether Amazon will pull a Warner Bros Vs Batgirl (just scrap the whole thing) or if they will pressure Gaiman to step foward and speak... but I don't think so because they didn't do it for Good Omens which, for what I can see, is a far more beloved franchise that needed to secure its fanbase so S3 wouldn't be a failure.
He did said a few times that he was writing a book, so maybe that's why it was a lot easier to stay away from social media... the thing is... will it be published?
I dare to believe that he is back in social media, doesn't interact but is watching, Hell, maybe he even has a fake account to test the waters! There was a rumour of him hiring a PR team to have bots and alter Google search and bury the accusations... I'd say it is a possibility but I had a client that bought bots and those are not as effective as you may think. They help boost views and such but they easily fade away. Maybe he did felt like throwing money to the garbage, who knows? Maybe it wasn't Gaiman himself but any of his "bosses" (publishers, networks) because it does feel more like a corporate move than a personal one.
The most sensible thing would be to go to Justice, present evidence and then let not just the Court but the Public make a decision (that could or not be aligned). The main issue with it is that many will see it as Gaiman trying to bring down a group of women instead of showing his side of the story, what will keep on adding ink to the stain. Is tricky but is the only way to have a sense of what could've possibly happened (because, of course, the only ones that know 100% what really happened are the parties involved and even that is not a reliable source given that everyone has their own version of the story based in their own feelings, predjudices and emotional baggage altogether).
My personal take
If you are still reading and haven't burst out of anger and left a thousand "k!ll yourself" or "typical mysoginist" or "defendor of SA" comments and/or reblogs, you are probably wondering "ok, I can see your point but what do you believe?"
I'm not surprised... nor heart broken.
Granted I was never a huge fan, just in the last couple of years I started to enjoy the adaptations of his stories more... but still, he doesn't have a huge impact in me. No author or creator has ever had it and I love plenty of artists.
There's something on the way I was raised, I believe, that turned out in me never putting people on pedestals. They are all human and there will always be something that will let you down on them. Most of the musicians and/or actors I love had drug issues, got into fights (some very stupid ones, others not so much), groupies everywhere, off comments that maybe should've never been made, opinions I do not share... I still follow them because sometimes they mature and realize their mistakes and do make a stand about it. And if they don't I can go "yeah, cool thing... but still this other thing still sucks" because I was taught that you can criticize something/someone you like, it is not a sin to do so.
I know that a lot of you think that absolutely all the stories he came up with were deacoys to have free access to girls... but... really? Whether you like his writing or not, he is capable of coming up with good premises mixing up diferent cultural myths and original ideas. The books are well plotted and thought out (nothing is 100% perfect, but that's how things are). Had you tell me that his books are obvious cash-grabs than can be written in less than a month with the premise "Plot? what Plot? this is just smut" I would've believed you. Any of us that loves writing (either original stories or fanfic) know how hard it is to create something half-way decent. Yes, some care about their audience and even go like "ho ho ho they will love that" but others just write because it is fun. Others do a mix of both. Looking at Gaiman's works, I hardly think that his main goal was to attract "goth girls" as someone said. What was the point of writing kids' books then? Get goth moms in the mix too or not losing his female fans just because they have kids now? Also many straight men like his writting too... is it collateral damage?
To me he is just a writer that in the worst case scenario has a dark side (note: not the BSDM part but the way he treats some women). As many others before him and as many others will in the future.
I hope that he does come foward and start to talk about it. But it has to be an honest interview, or better yet a press conference. Not something that anyone could've scripted and rehearse over and over again. People needs to see him either squirm, turn red, be uncomfortable to decide if he is being honest or not.
If it is all true, he has to be responsible for his actions. Undergo a program or something, show signals that he is sorry and is (honestly) trying to improve. Then and only then he can aspire to go back to where things were before all of this.
Even if he's done cameos everywhere, he's not an actor and nobody can fake for so long. I believe that the causes he supported did meant something for him. Many celebrities don't ever take a stand for anything and still have their fans and the money keeps on pouring in... nobody was forcing him into doing any of those campaigns and he had nothing to earn that he didn't already had (his fans would love him a little bit more, but they were already loving him anyway).
Rowling vs Gaiman (This is the end, I swear)
A lot of so called "feminists" are spewing their conspiracy theory of how everyone was dog-pilling Rowling "for just stating the thruth" while many are trying to save Gaiman "even if he's a r@pist".
Presumption of innocence first comes to mind, not to mention that many people saw Gaiman as like-minded, down to earth, good writer. Rowling was thought of as such until she didn't stopped and even doubled down on her irrational hate, amplified voices, donated money and fully supported (and still supports) a train of thought that is causing more damage than good. She could've just been an ideology-blinded author going "trans women aren't women" and called the day... she would've been just another author with a dark side that distresseses some people. But no, she is pretty much the face of a movement that puts people's safety and lives in danger.
The damage an entire movement can do to other group of people has no comparison to what damage a single man can cause in private.
I'm not saying that Gaiman's victims aren't worth a dime... I'm saying that if you care about people for real it doesn't matter if is one, twenty, a thousand or even a million, you have to care for all of them too... and yes, if you are of the religious type you must love and protect even to those that are not like you or share your views.
There's a witch hunt in this site (or at least there was one last time I checked) where if you had in your profile either the rainbow flag, or said that you were trans, your pronuns or anything that would identify you as LGBTQ+ and you were trying to make sense of everything that was going on, trying to figure out how to move foward and even trying to see a larger picture... a screenshot was taken and then posted elsewhere saying "look how the perverts protect themselves" and this blogs were 99.9% of the times RADFEMS.
In "the real world" the one that is away from Tumblr and any social media: Gaiman lost. Big time. It's done, there's nothing left to do.
Rowling is still being published and her properties are still being adapted and comercialized, the park's still thriving and all the merchandise they sell as well. There is no signal of cancelling going on outside of this site. And WB didn't let her go as quickly as they did with Johnny Depp, or Ezra Miller or Neil Gaiman now.
She still has her life, she goes to events, she gives interviews, she still can write and sell a book quite well.
She's not "suffering misogynistic attacks" from a rabid group of "wokes". She's perfectly fine in her castle enjoying her money as she has stated before.
Most likely Gaiman can also live the rest of his days off the money he's got so far. He could disappear forever to a small island in the middle of nowhere and that would be it, aside from the alledged damage he's caused (and he'd be careful not to be caught again, if he has a working brain) his power ends there.
Hers continues.
She is more of an active threat than he is.

Here's an idea for a Rimworld mod that I've had in my head for years at this point and I'm honestly surprised hasn't been made yet and got popular. (That being said it's been a while since I played Rimworld so something like this might actually exist now.)
One of my biggest complaints with vanilla Rimworld is how static raids feel. For being arguably the biggest central threat of the game, they are shockingly repetitive and simplistic in how they function at their core. The goal with this mod idea is to re-do the system and give raids some much-needed mechanical depth. Whilst also making it more gamified so that it's more enjoyable overall.
Overhauled behaviour for how raiders flee: The mood for raiders is replaced by 'Morale' which, similarly to mood, is affected by a variety of factors depending on the current situation and is specific to every raider. If a raider's morale gets low enough to break the threshold of a minor mental break risk, then the raider will get a notable debuff as their nerves takes over. If morale breaks the threshold for a major mental break risk, then the raider will flee after a certain grace period. The morale, mental break thresholds and grace period before fleeing of any raider would be visible to the player. These stats would be affected by traits, faction type, status and thoughts that are entirely mechanically separate to the ones for mood. Some examples include the wimp trait giving a much smaller grace period and higher break thresholds for raiders, tribal raiders facing less morale penalties from other raiders dying (to compensate for their differing raid tactics), raiders with better stats and equipment gaining a morale boost and raiders gaining a massive morale penalty once roughly half of them have died (to emulate their current in-game behaviour for retreating).
Addition of Raid Intent: Each raid now has an intent that is shown alongside the raid message. This can range from general sabotage to going after a specific item/resource or simply wanting to kill every colonist present and raze the entire colony. These intents influence the behaviour of the raiders and their victory condition for the raid. If say the raid intent was to steal an item and they successfully stole it, then the entire raid will immediately retreat. What intent a raid is given is influenced by the faction type, faction relation and faction ideoligion. For example, pirates will almost always raid with the intent to steal or kidnap. Factions that you have a particularly bad relation with are more likely to raid you for the sake of sabotage or razing your colony. Factions with the high life meme will often target drugs. Factions with the loyalist meme will often target taking back prisoners/converts of their faction. Etc.
Raiders are less omnipotent: Raiders no longer have expert vision of the entire colony. Instead of beelining towards your pawns and buildings, they now approach the general area that your colony is in and will engage anything they can find. This means that with elaborate enough strategy and colony layout, it's possible to ambush a raid or completely avoid being found. Raiders going after a specific item will also search around your colony to find it instead of already knowing it's location (unless they got info about its whereabouts before the raid, but this opens up the possibility for you to dupe them instead). If it takes them too long, they might even give up the entire raid. The same is true for raids that try to kill/kidnap every colonist. If your pawns can simply avoid being found long enough then they might get away.
New types of raids: Technically already a feature in vanilla, these are slightly different versions of normal raids to make the playthrough a little more interesting. These unique raids include ransoms, where you can give the raiders something to avoid the raid. Drug raids by addicts, which only occur if you got the specific drug. Raids by a single person from a friendly faction, encouraging you to capture and release them for goodwill. And multi-pronged assaults consisting of multiple smaller raids in sequence. There are also some new raid types or events that directly encourage you to go on the offensive. This includes enemy caravans or unrelated raiders passing through your map alongside raiders that arrived too early and will call off their raid if you attack them prematurely.
More meaningful preparation and distinguished roles for raiders: Raiders will now actually make use of preparation time by discussing strategy and hyping each other up, giving them a major morale boost. If you instead ruin their preparation by attacking early and forcing an assault, the raiders are given a morale penalty that might have them call off the raid entirely. To expand this system even more, there are now additional roles for raiders to have that are designated and strategized during preparation time. This includes lone-wolf raiders that split-off and attack separately to pincer you (potentially even moving earlier than the rest of the raid), combat medics that focus on picking up and healing wounded raiders (giving them a major role with the raiders morale), and leaders that give a morale boost while present but a morale penalty when killed. Some end-game raids might even fill their number with mechanoids squads that operate independently and are always sent first.

sayer itself for the ask meme!
Yayyyyy ty!!
How I feel about this character
LOVE IT, DOWN BAD FOR IT, OBSESSED WITH IT, SHOWSTOPPING AND INCREDIBLY EVIL HOTTIE I NEED TO TELL MY FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS ABOUT, and a strange and intense protectiveness coming from a subconscious layer i cant really word. i want to compliment it and boost its ego but it would only get me killed bc it would sniff out instantly i do so from a place of worry/pity for it lololol. but at least it might be a change of pace for it...?
All the people I ship romantically with this character
svencob haleson🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
My non-romantic OTP for this character
speaker though im equally open to romantic speakersayer!! It could go either way for me. I feel like this one hasnt quite Caught the lever in my mind yet tho so im mostly nodding at what others say. speakerhalesayer is excellent too.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I think more fanwork should take advantage of the fact that it cant see/senses info both through alternate means and via trusting that data given to it is correct!! i really like the twist away from like.... controlling company=eye/camera imagery that feels a bit Too obvious. Id love to see it pointed out more... while im mentioning things, i also would love to see more fanwork focusing on it as an inbetween for things. i tried to emphasize that in faustfic lolol
entirely setting aside my own design funtimes which are, like, obviously Exxagerated For Fun And Not Reflective Of Actual Analysis, i still think of it as nb in the direction of turned away from masculinity. and it likes its voice, right, its not a question of dysphoria, but of mislabeling what SHOULD be a good and neutral trait if humans werent so weiiiird. not to mention its literally wire mother. all this to say i take a noticible but ultimately insignificant 1hp damage (which is ofc only to Describe The Heart's Phenomenon and not To Assert Correctness- mistake or not, canon DOES use he/it+"space boyfriend") when i see it reffered to with he/him or sayerhale described as m/m and i think more exploration of sayer as a fully agender or even slightly feminine figure would be interesting perhapbs...... this feels like an extremely dumb thing to care about- aaaa the tumblrina has complex specific headcanons on the finer points of an nb characters gender, pointnlaugh- but!
(But also more ppl should put it in beautiful dresses.)
I guess this is worth mentioning- for whatever Naming or Intensifying s4 future's program did, i think it extremely obviously had emotions all along. I think the only thing it actually gave it fresh and new was the ability to conceptualize how someone else is feeling emotionally.
I also am always skeptical of a move towards a more "human" experience being "better"- i want it to be skeptical of what emotion is- it knows who made them, after all!! It watched!!- and to retain its inhumanity even after its been so changed. its very, extremely, important to me to separate out the experience of both "nanite in occupied body" and "nanite in empty body" from "regular bodied existance". we love separating and categorizing here at kam inc.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
connected to the above, i wish sooooo much we'd gotten an earlier-season episode with an equivalent situation to In Darkness where someone is able to successfully lie to sayer by describing something they can see and it cannot. (doubleconnected to the further above..... claims to feel protective of it, wishes there was an ep where it got tricked via an exploitable weakness.... MY HEART IS LARGE, AND FULL OF CONTRADICTION!!)

Oc ask! I know nothing whatsoever about yours 😭 PLEASE proceed with an incoherent ramble <3
OKAY OKAY HELL YEAH 💪 you got it boss (also thank you for the ask !!!! I really appreciate it like you wouldn’t believe)
so to break things down a little into stuff that makes more sense, I have about five main stories and a bunch of side stories. All my ocs exist in the same universe they just don’t all come in contact with each other
Here’s the main synopsis for each of the main five:
For Given - an angel falls from heaven and has to cope with living as a human. He must learn how to navigate a new body, social situations, and making bonds. However there is something interesting and suspicious to discover in the lives of those around him and only through learning about them will he figure out why he fell from heaven. (Set in Pennsylvania)
Saint - three human college students get lost in a Bermuda Triangle esque desert and must collaborate with the locals to escape even when things go horribly awry (set in Nevada)
Midnight Rice - an exploration of the lives of 12 college students and how they end up as a friend group despite all being vastly different, much amounts of drama and personal issues surface on the down low (Set in Pennsylvania)
Figments - a group of strange roommates individually encounter members of another equally odd friend group and slowly discover that they all know each other through strange means. Tender domestic moments are in full force as well as odd kinky shit and unconventional expressions of love. (set in a place reminiscent of Georgia)
Green Beans and Barley - slice of life small town shenanigans featuring a young boy and the lemon tree nymph he befriended, she gets to experience this deranged small town drama through his eyes (Set in upstate New York)
I’ve been brewing these stories solidly for like five years now and my oldest oc I’ve had for like 8 years
here’s a sketch of her from a little bit ago
Tumblr media
she does track and field and is a pyromaniac with a weapon fascination (she is a good shot with guns so beware LMAO) she has few friends as most are offput by her and she frankly doesn’t like them either (there is a ton of small town gossip surrounding her family)
Tumblr media
here’s an oc meme I did for your viewing pleasure 🤲 btw easter egg for those with keen eyes, if you stare long enough at the oc chart, I have a self insert in with my ocs because I’m not above joining in on the shenanigans LMAO
I’ve worldbuilt these stories so extensively (even though half the info I have isn’t needed in canon) that I have 41+ pages of info on the mechanics of it all because I’m nothing if not thorough and I WILL talk about demon denominations shdbfjnfkf
At some point I want to make a copy public to people but we’ll see how to execute that properly since I’m not super tech savvy and I’m extremely private about my personal info
Tumblr media
here’s a shitpost I made on spirits that I’ve included in my lore doc as consolation
I fear if I ramble for much longer I might just explain genuinely everything SJSJJSJ so thank you for the ask !! wishing you a good day :3

Welcome to the Silver Southeastern Railway!
Ran by @caramellvibecheck, this little fleet of characters was made cause...why not? I don't know, the idea had me hostage for 3-4 months.
I'm not use to making introductions, but I do want to put some starter info here just in case:
I am a young adult who simply likes the RWS, Thomas and Friends, and anything related to TTTE. Anything else will be on my main blog.
I like shitposts and memes
I work with mature themes, so don't be surprised if you see some mature stuff and swear words here.
I have a hard time getting things done, so writing chapters can take a long time for me. Doesn't help that I'm in college atm- I'll try to be active, but it can be hard for me to handle my outside-of-internet life.
I block spammers. Please for the love of God don't spam asks. If I have already replied to the ask, I will link to it.
My stories uses premises seen in @asktrio516's human-engines, such as their strength, the option to eat, and leg wheels when in human form. This does not mean in any way I'm ripping off or such, I just enjoy and agree with those aspects that I incorporate them into my stories. Plus, I feel it gives a way of thanking her for being one of my main sources of inspiration when making this.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now some basic questions in case I have to repeat myself:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Who's your favorite engine(s)?
Edward, Diesel, Murdoch, and Duncan.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. What made you create this blog and get into TTTE?
Mostly because I stumbled onto @asktrio516's blog one day and then watched a lot of Unlucky Tug afterwards. I remember seeing the show as a kid, and I did remember liking it. I was mostly curious if the fandom was still kicking, and it was, as it kicked me into the rabbit-hole you are now reading.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Do you do art?
Not really, mostly I use Hero's Forge for visual references and write about additional factoids. I'll more likely commission someone than anything.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Is there a focused time where the SSER takes place?/Do you focus on the books, model era, or cgi era?
I'm not sure? BWBA and AEG does not exist in this, cause fuck Mattel, but otherwise not really? I will make a solid timeline though, as I do enjoy a timeline that doesn't mess stuff up. Character development will also be important for me, so it could depend on how I want to write out the arcs. WW2 stuff will be mentioned, alongside certain years, but it defiantly won't be modern times where cellphones and Tumblr exists. Best point I can place, if it was in a time where the SSER really kick in, it is in the surrounding years of dieselization.
If I had to pick an era for my blog...I'll be pulling from all the sources I can get, so I can fully understand the character and work from there. I will do my best to stay faithful to the source, but this is my story to tell. My biggest difference would defiantly be from TATMR, but I will still incorporate aspects from it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Is there magic in this AU?
YES! Cry as I might, I still have a soft spot for TATMR.
Their main ability is to shift from engine to human forms thanks to Lady and her Golden Dust. All engines do have to be taught on how to use their abilities, but do know basic aspects of themselves (their build, basic functions, emotions, etc.). Certain aspects of their work before interacting with the Dust however, such as war, can also cause a variety of additional knowledge, such as having the ability to talk in multiple languages with little or no difficulty. Think of it as like reading to a baby before they are born. If asked what they did before the Dust was introduced, they can only remember events as a hazy dream or have no memory of it at all.
An example of this would be Oswald. He was built in America and was sent to Europe to aid in the war efforts, mostly staying in France with both English-speaking and French-speaking men working on him. Because of this, he is able to understand and speak both French and English when awoken by the Dust. He also knows he helped the Allies by pulling trains in France, but doesn't know what exactly was on his train or what occurred during.
I'm working on a story or Lady & D10, but it is going to take time so bare with me on it. Also there is such a thing as ghosts in my stories, so other mystical creatures could be seen as well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. What happens to and engine when they get hurt?
I go with @asktrio516's take on this, in that they can bleed a dark blood that never runs out. The blood, depending on the engine though, is different when compared: Steam engine blood is thinner or more watery to a diesel engine, which has more of an oily sheen when spilt. This also goes for other liquids too. It doesn't mean that either blood type has a negative affect on them, but it's treated similar to how humans learned not to mix blood types together.
Injuries also apply similarly, except for three key factors:
If an injury is grave enough, the ability to shift between forms is stopped until repairs or natural healing has occurred. A paper cut for example won't stop shifting, but the aftermath from a high-speed derailment or a broken limb can.
Golden Dust helps speed up the healing process, but it can still take weeks before shifting is allowed again.
Because of this, engines are required to have at least one human with them, nicknamed 'Drivermen' by the engines. They see them as a 2-in-1 of the driver and fireman roles. The engines themselves can still fuel themselves and work on their own fine, but if a injury occurs or if they need someone to go get help, the driverman would be there to fill in that need.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Do the engines have rights?
Well...engines aren't innately seen as people in my story. Mostly it depends on the Controller involved. Some can be father-like, like the Fat Controller or the Old Silver Controller, and others will scrap an engine without a second thought. Many do support the engines, but by a full-blown political/legal stance, they got nothing aiding them. They are seen as a sort of like pet. Very expensive pets that can talk.
All engines do want to work though, as it gives them value, but they see no use in things such as money (unless they like collecting it or something). They might be rewarded for good work with better coal or something the engine may want, but again, that is dependent on the controller the engine is working with.

The “random” searches at borders/ports of entry have existed long before orange man, I’m afraid 🥲 to the point where this issue about searches has been battled in US courts for decades now.
but yes, technically, Customs and Border Patrol can search your devices at the borders without a warrant. People technically aren’t protected by the 4th amendment unless you’re actually IN America, and ports of entry are outside of that jurisdiction.
so if you have anything on your phone that could be illegal/questionable, then it would probably be a good idea to remove it, just in case. I’d also suggest writing down your login info for any apps, and logging out of them before you get to Customs. That way, if they do plug your phone into anything, there won’t be any data for them to pull. An entire new travel phone likely isn’t necessary, unless you want to make sure you have a completely clean slate on your device. But the chances of being selected for this additional screening is relatively low
Yep it has been happening to POC forever, everyone just accepted the racial profiling as inevitable but since its happening more to white people now, ofcourse ppl r more scared lol. Uh but yeah i mean even if i stayed logged into all my apps all they would find is nudies, memes and screenshots of every travel receipt i get in emails 🧍🏽‍♀️ so i dont rly see the point in logging out, except ofcourse to protect my privacy. I'll probably just factory reset my phone, ive been meaning to do so anyway because i have too much random stuff. I mean, i know they probably wont look through my phone because im a random regular person butttt since im going on holiday it might be a good idea to factory reset anyway so i have more storage space 4 pics 😎
Hopefully nothing happens to me, i have flown internationally to before so I'm not too nervous but yeah who knows. I'm planning to come to the US for a good few weeks so yeah
Thx for your input!

So, here's something dumb.
A longstanding discussion within Skyrim's playerbase is the topic of Serana and her being unmarriable.
To try and condense a very long and complicated set of info- Serana is the main character of the Dawnguard DLC and acts as your main companion. The DLC is basically about her tieing up her past as you stop her dad from pissing off every Dragon in existence locking down the sun. Because of thus, Serana becomes very close with the LDB, which would seem to lead to her being marriable right?
Well, she does have dialogue in the game for when you set up the conditions for marriage and she can't be married. So cut and dry- she doesn't have romantic feelings for the LDB right?
Well, the actual dialogue in question makes this complicated.
(If you ask Serana about marriage with an Amulet of Mara) "Oh, I get it. Is that why you're wearing an Amulet of Mara?"
(If you ask Serana if she's interested.) "Look, I care about you. A lot. And I'll come with you wherever you want to go. But... with everything in my past, I don't think I could bring myself to go into a temple and ask for that kind of blessing. It's just... it's not for me."
Or-
"Look, you're great. Really. But I just don't think that's for us. Especially not me. I mean... with my history, I still kind of get a chill just walking by a temple. Can't imagine going in one."
So the reason Serana rejects marriage in game is twofold-
1-Due to a past experience (AKA getting raped by Molag Bal), Serana doesn't like temples.
And 2-She feels she can't have that kind of thing.
Nowhere does she ever say she doesn't feel a romantic connection with the LDB. And numerous times she implies that she cares VERY deeply about them, like when she shouts for the first time in dialogue when her father threatens the LDB. Or that with the correct dialogue- You can convince Serana to get a cure for her vampirism. Something she's stated to cling to VERY hard because it's all she got from her...night with the Lord of Rape. So, the rejectin isn't based on a lack of feelings. It's focused on her tramua and guilt. While there is no romance directly stated, her level of intimacy with the LDB is such that romance could easily be seen.
Which is why the subject has such heated debate. Because of memes, people think Serana outright rejects romance with the player (it's specifically marriage, Skyrim just doesn't have any more to romance) and thus it's creepy to force a marriage mod into the game. And other people point out that she's by far the closest companion the LDB can have and that she does care VERY deeply about them.
And thus, this long standing debate has raged on.
For me, I think romance with Serana is logical for the reasons given. I can also understand why she rejects marriage not only due to her...conversion but also because her parents are dicks. No wonder she doesn't like marriage. Personally I would have offered an alternate romance path that didn't concern marriage...but knowing Skyrim, that might have caused the code to implode on itself.

the self explanatory
art - all the art i reblog comic - similarly, all the art i reblog that is a comic animatic - any animation video - videos music - songs creation - videos of people creating things, be it art, sculpture, chocolate guy, etc. poetry - poetry, using a loose definition of the term abcdefghijklmnop queue - my queue tag long post - posts that are long puns - puns :D cheesy jokes - cheesy jokes <3 polls - tumblr polls tumblr rp - when people on tumblr roleplay dancing - videos of people dancing!! fairytale rewrites - different takes on fairytales cats - cats current events - things that are happening in the world
the less self explanatory
fic recs - all the stories i reblog fic snippets - encompasses bullet point stories, story ideas, and bits of writing that aren't really a full story original story - the stories that aren't fanfics, whether that be original fiction or personal stories original work - the art that (at least as far as i can tell) isn't fanart tumblr famous - ranges from posts that i've seen at least twice to the truly iconic (for some reason on my blog this tag has a column running through the posts. not sure how to fix it) once a week once a month once a year - all the time-based posts, like thursday the 20th, saturday shorts, the Mar 10 Mario billboard, etc. humanity - people being lovely and good, actually <3 :^) - my smile tag! silly and delightful stuff here signal boost - kind of goes hand in hand with current events; less news and more just info i want to/i think should be share(d)? like, interest checks for fan stuff and commissions posts and petitions and so on liveblogging - this would be in the self explanatory bc it's exactly what it sounds like, but so far i've only liveblogged the enola holmes movie and salted about it being different from the books laksdjf;alj wizardry - wizard posting a good reminder - positivity/self care/genuine reminders à la 'turn over your laundry' 'it's okay to be sad sometimes' etc.
the personal
my fics - all my published stories my writing - includes my fics and various bits of writing (and, if you scroll back to late 2020, a choose your own adventure thing i did) meri monologues - my talk posts m mumbles - when i do a little storying in the tags of a post tk got tagged - tag games! this is a relic from when i went by tk for the first few months of having this blog, but i haven't switched it over bc alliteration it's a good good good good good good morning - sometimes i write about the good things in my day and then schedule it to post the following morning :] an ask & an-on ask - my ask answering tags! an ask is on all of them but an-on ask is for. anon asks kind words - a collection of nice things people have said about me/my writing (mostly on this list so i remember it exists) a meme - memes i've made a doodle of mine own - whenever i post a little drawing i made
all my friends are tagged with (one of) their names and that's it
the warnings*
reblog bait - those "reblog if/reblog for" posts. i usually don't reblog the "reblog within ten seconds for good luck" type posts, but it's there to block if you don't want to see those cursing - if there is profanity in a post it will almost certainly have this tag suggestive - the more nsfw posts i reblog. it's not very often, and it'll almost never be explicit, but this is my tag for that flashing cw & eye strain - the more eye hurty posts
*there's not really anything else that i reblog and warn for with any regularity, but i'm willing to go back and tag posts if you send me an ask requesting it! additionally, my warning tagging convention is [thing cw] or just [thing mention] if it's not depicted. so for example if there was an art post showing blood i'd tag it "blood cw", but a story that briefly discussed someone dying would have "death mention."
the references
reference - just general stuff i want to hold on to for reference baking reference - baking but also recipes in general art reference writing reference job reference ^ all fairly self explanatory
the religious
greek mythology - all the greek mythology related posts i reblog christianity - mostly memey christian stuff tbh judaism - happy holidays reblogs + info about it
the fandoms
my general tagging convention for fandoms is [media name] for any posts featuring it, [abbreviated media name + character name] or [character's full name] for any characters in the post, and [ship name] for any featured ships. so a prinxiety post would be tagged with "sanders sides," "ts virgil," "ts roman," and "prinxiety," along with any other relevant tags. or a post featuring phineas and perry would be tagged with "phineas and ferb," "phineas flynn," and "perry the platypus," because for the p&f fandom i tag characters' full names. exceptions include rottmnt, because i didn't want to type out the full show name, but the characters are all tagged [rise character name] & the mxtx fandoms like the untamed and svsss, they're all under "mxtx" bc i haven't actually consumed any of the stories
i have a lot of fandoms i reblog stuff for but the main ones are sanders sides, miraculous ladybug, mcyt*, dnd podcasts (the adventure zone**, legendlark, and spell check mostly) A:TLA, and dp x dc (danny phantom/dcu crossovers - those posts get tagged "dp x dc," "danny phantom," AND "dcu" (i might omit one fandom or the other if the post is, say, a fic that mostly only talks about one fandom, but it'll have the "dp x dc" tag still))
*similar to dp x dc, mcyt posts will always have the "mcyt" tag, and if there's an associated smp with it, i'll tag that as well. i think the only smps i've tagged are dsmp, qsmp, hermitcraft, and life smps. ngl, my character tags for mcyt stuff is a mess and i don't feel like fixing it legendlark is also similar - each post has the 'legendlark' tag and then the og campaign is tagged 'dames and dragons' and any hrose camp posts are tagged as such
**i don't have one unifying tag for all adventure zone content. each campaign has its own tag - so like "taz balance" is the main taz tag you'll see on my blog - and then the characters are all just [taz character name] (e.g. "taz taako")

Hi, so I'm the anonymous ask lol, which feels silly in hindsight so if we can ignore that lol, I'd appreciate it :D
Idk, I basically just started getting back into writing post-graduation since I actually had mental space for it, and I've really enjoyed the interactions I've had with people in the community on AO3, but I'm not great at those interactions either I guess? Or maybe I just feel silly haha, but I'm trying to do better at reaching out and joining community spaces :)
That's really helpful, though! I'm trying to do better at just letting myself exist without feeling weird/hyper-critical about what I post, which is why my Tumblr/AO3/Discord aren't linked to my irl social handles, but sometimes the public-ness of AO3 is hard for me to overcome, if that makes sense? I always feel bad for not responding to people as much or reaching out, but I'm doing my best :)
Anyway, I really appreciate this! It's helpful to hear for sure. You're genuinely one of my favorite writers in the community, so the encouragement means a lot.
it's not silly!!! but obligingly, i pull out a forgetinator and blast myself in the face with it. ignore what? what were we talking about?
anyway, OMG HI!!!!!!! hi hi hello hi hello hello hi!!! imagine just a million heart emojis everywhere because HI!!!!! your fics are. SO good oh my god. genuinely just so fuckin good. and now you're in my inbox. WOw. flapping my hands like a demented seal.
im glad!!! im gonna graduate soon (undergrad/uni for me) and i can understand how the relief might make a better headspace for writing--although i'm going straight to grad school so we'll see if i get anywhere on that front. sigh.
but oh my god i totally get what you mean. i have no idea how to make social interaction on purpose, i generally just let people come to me. i used to joke i don't start conversations but end them (by prolonging them for so long the other person runs away, rip). but hey!!! look!!! it's working!!! you've stumbled into my TRAP!!! (the trap is social interaction with me) (i mean this so light heartedly i swear) ANYWAY my point being i'm also not great at interactions, i think, and i feel very silly trying. i feel silly even messaging in the discord, and i actually know some people there!
also, yeah, ao3 does feel so public, i get not wanting to feel self conscious--also oh my god please don't connect your irl accounts to ao3/tumblr. i mean i wouldn't judge anyone who does but holy shit i'd explode. also it seems like a recipe for disaster probably, esp bc the internet and people knowing your irl info and etc. but like, if anyone i know irl, or like, employers or something, saw my silly gay porn, or worse, the memes, i think i'd just have to turn into bats. pack it up boys we're bats now (<- my braincells). god forbid they find out about gertson. (that's an inside joke that's not even from this blog don't worry about it.) ANYWAY i also like. mmm i should respond to comments more but i have so little energy (uni...) that i usually don't unless they specifically ask me something or need a response for some reason. i get the struggle.
i'm glad it could be helpful at all!!! also i need you to know i read that and did the Autism Full Body Wiggle Of Happiness. i do not know how to take compliments but i sure can try. especially, again, coming from YOU, one of MY favorite authors in the fandom,
