It had been about a week and a half since Spamton had moved back in with his old department. As he’d expected, everything was very tense and awkward as they all got used to living together again after so long.

The others were all trying their best, to be fair. Honestly, Addisons were notoriously terrible at dealing with things like feelings, preferring to push them down and get on with work instead, so it was genuinely impressive that they were trying at all.

Mags and Pay were both a little overly eager to please, but Spamton wasn’t going to complain about that. Click had nearly slipped several times, though, shutting his mouth audibly each time he almost insulted Spam—with a look of horror on his face to boot. His attempts were still appreciated anyhow, since at least he was making an effort. Vid was probably handling all of this the best, both because of the strength of their relationship and because he’d had the longest to spend with this new Spamton.

But none of them at all knew how to react to his nightmare near the end of the first week.

He’d woken up from a horrible dream about strings and ringing phones screaming bloody murder, sending all the other Addis rushing to his room in a panic. When they’d found him glitching out and sobbing, babbling about Heaven, none of them had really known what to do. They’d all offered plenty of reassurances, and Vid had hugged him tightly, but not a single one of them could understand what on earth he was going on about.

Spam wasn’t sure if he wanted them to.

If it meant they’d end up like him, he definitely didn’t.

Unfortunately, despite his deepest wishes, he found his department and “freedom” lives clashing more and more as time went on. This manifested in a variety of small ways, such as his glitching censoring his speech (at times to the point where the others had to ask for clarification, while looking quite distressed) or his twitchiness when it came to talking about anything related to manipulation, as well as whenever the telephone rang.

However, it also appeared in one massive, glaring, in-your-face, annoying way on this day in particular.

Spamton had just been hanging out with Vid, the two of them goofing off a bit while the latter tried to sell their wares to passersby, when the nearest television screen began blaring a terrible alarm. Even Video winced a little at that, glancing in the direction of the TV just as a news bulletin came on. The reporter onscreen looked messy and rushed, as though this hadn’t been planned in the slightest.

“Breaking news!” they exclaimed, their expression distressed. “An unidentified Darkner has begun to attack downtown Cyber City. We advise everyone currently in this location—” a map appeared on the screen, one part of it flashing red— “to evacuate immediately.”

“Shoot, that’s us!” Vid cried, jumping out of their seat. “Pack up, Spam, we’re closing early!”

Meanwhile, the reporter continued talking. “Nobody is certain exactly who this hostile Darkner is, but we do have some photos from the scene. If anyone can, we highly recommend that they do something to stop them!”

The photos flashed up on the screen, and Spamton froze.

“THAT DAMN [[It’s All In Jest!]]…” he hissed.

“Huh?” Vid asked, turning around from where they’d been closing up shop. “What’s that, Spam?”

“I GOTTA [Everything Must Go!]! SEEYA!!” Spamton called, making for the door.

“Whoa, what?” Video yelled. “You’re just gonna leave me here?”

“I HAVE TO [Stop it! Please! Stop!!] HIM!” Spam insisted.

“Wait, you want to go fight that guy?” Vid gasped. “No way, they just told everyone to evacua—”

Suddenly, their phone pinged with a message…one that made them freeze.

“Oh god. Never mind, we’re both going.”

“WHAT HAPPENED?!” the former Addison asked, startled.

“Click and Pay got trapped in Pay’s store and can’t get out! They’re both right in the middle of downtown!” Vid explained, rushing around the store at top speed and gathering their last few things.

Spamton’s eyes widened behind his glasses. “[$&*#]!! WE GOTTA [Give a helping hand]!”

“Yeah—you mind if I supersonic us there? I know it makes you feel kinda sick sometimes, but we really gotta move…” Video asked, practically vibrating in place with suppressed energy.

“DO IT.”

Seconds later, the glass windows in Vid’s store shattered as he snatched up Spamton at the speed of sound, dashing out the door and down the street towards the main downtown area. It took them less than a minute to cross nearly a mile of city blocks, but at the cost of his poor companion’s equilibrium.

The former Addi stumbled as Video set him down on the ground before racing to Pay’s storefront. “Don’t attack the rubble!” Mags cried from beside the pile (having received the same text as well, evidently), warning Video off just as he was about to summon his electricity magic.

“W-why not?!” he asked.

Mags sighed. “I already tried to knock it out of the way, but that just made the concrete fall more against the door…if you attack it right now, even more of the debris above us will just fall down.”

“Dammit…Spam, what do you think we should do?” the yellow Addi asked, turning around—but someone else interrupted before he could answer.

“UEE HEE HEE! OH, WHO COULD THAT BE, BE?”

Halfway across the square, a strange, floating jester with a J-shamped tail and a massive scythe was staring at them.

“Oh no…they’ve seen us….” Pay wheezed. “This is it, we had a good run guys, at least we got to reunite with Spamton before the end.”

“What?!” Vid yelped.

“DO MY EYES DECEIVE ME, ME? IS THAT THE LITTLE PUPPET BOY? NU-HA! HOW ABOUT WE PLAY A GAME?” the strange jester called.

“F[ind Local Health Insuarance] OFF, JEVIL!!!” Spamton barked in return.

“Jevil?” Mags muttered.

Click stared through the glass, dumbfounded. “Do you know this guy?!”

Jevil chuckled. “MY OH MY, LOOK AT THIS CROWD! ARE THESE THE FRIENDS WHO WOULDN’T HELP YOU WHEN YOUR LIFE CAME CRASHING DOWN, DOWN?”

All four Addisons flinched.

“Shut the hell up!” Vid roared, clearly furious. Pay merely squirmed uncomfortably, while Click gritted his teeth. Mags seemed unable to lift his eyes from the ground, his face twisted with shame.

Spamton rolled his eyes. “AS IF YOU WERE ANY [New And Improved], [Clown car]! AT LEAST THEY [Sincerest Apologies]!!”

“BOO HOO, BOO HOO, WHY MUST YOU TREAT ME SO?” Jevil said, expression not revealing any sadness in the slightest. “I WONDER IF YOUR FRIENDS ARE QUITE AS GOOD AT MY NUMBERS GAME AS YOU WERE…” he added, his smile growing ever wider.

“DON”T. YOU. D4RE.” Spam growled.

“UEE HEE HEE!” Jevil simply giggled.

Suddenly, without any warning at all, he shifted from laughing in the air to hurling a Devilsknife at Vid’s face so fast that even he didn’t have time to react.

Pay screamed, while Click and Mags began to rush forward, unable to do anything but desperate regardless. Vid barely managed to raise his arms, flinching in terror—

—until the Devilsknife clattered to the ground several feet in front of him, having been stopped in its tracks.

Between him and the scythe was a gleaming, ocean-colored wing, with a grey talon atop its main joint. Said wing (and its sunset-shaded counterpart) was currently attached to a massive humanoid robot body, mainly pink and purple with a yellow triangle set into its chest…and with Spamton’s face.

“Uh……” Vid said articulately.

“What?!?” Click shrieked, his voice a blend of awe and outrage. “Since when??!??”

Spamton snickered, clearly pleased with himself (and slightly relieved that his transformation had been received much more positively than he’d expected). “YA LIKE [Neo], [Clickbait]?”

“Does he like what now?” Mags asked, his voice somewhat shaky.

“NEO!! MY [New Packaging, Same Great Flavor] BODY!” Spam declared proudly. “IT’S [One of a kind]!”

“HUZZAH, AT LAST, A TRUE CHALLENGE!” Jevil cried, making Spamton NEO sigh in exasperation. “LET THE GAMES BEGIN, BEGIN!”

The robot-angel caught the first thrown Devilsknife in his hand, before springing into action. One of his hands morphed into a laser cannon, firing bright blasts at Jevil. In turn, the jester summoned card suit bullets that shot in all directions, seemingly impossible to dodge.

Yet Spamton was holding his own against the Darkner who had single-handedly ravaged part of the city, leaving the other four Addis staring (and in Mags’s case, slack-jawed). Explosions rocked the ground, and at one point a…carousel even appeared?

Suddenly, Click happened to notice something that nearly left him reeling. “Oh my god, he’s doing it all in heels! That’s not even fair!” he cried, equal parts stunned and envious.

Vid snickered, before shouting, “Hell yeah, Spam! Get him!!”

Spamton merely winked, exceptionally pleased with the impact he was having on the other Addisons. Unfortunately for him, his attention was soon drawn back to the battle, so he wasn’t able to showboat any longer. (Although perhaps this was good for Click, who might’ve exploded with pent-up jealousy if he had continued in this vein.)

Soon enough, Jevil’s attacks began to ramp up in intensity, forcing Spamton to focus harder if he wanted to maintain an equal comeback. But the spades and diamonds moved so quickly, it was taking everything he had just to keep them from battering his armor—

—and then the largest Devilsknife he’d seen yet slammed directly into him, smashing him backwards into the nearest building.

“DON’T YOU TOUCH HIM!” Vid screamed, shaking with pent-up energy.

They and Mags raced to stand between Jevil and Spamton, the yellow Addi summoning pop-up screens in an effort to shield them from any further attacks. Meanwhile, Mags began frantically to try and heal Spam, his hands shaking all the while.

“H3Y, [[Magazine Cover]], 1’LL BE [Right As Rain!] SO0N ENOUGH. DON’T [[Worried About Your Savings?]] ME!!” Spamton insisted, trying to stand once again.

“No, wait!” Mags cried. “You’re still hurt!”

“[[&]]?” Spam asked, clearly unconcerned.

“I…I don’t…I don’t want you to get hurt more.”

The robot’s expression softened at that. “…RE4LLY?”

“Of course!” Mags insisted.

“Uh, guys?” Vid called. “Really touching moment you’re having there, I love it, but I can’t hold off this guy much longer!”

Back in the shop, Click was practically crushed against the storefront, wishing he could go out and help. At that moment, though, he remembered something…

“Hey, Pay? Can’t your shields work through this glass?”

The orange Addison blinked. “Oh. Duh.” he said, covering his eyes with one hand.

Click sighed. “Oh my god…”

Moments later, personalized orange shields popped up around each of the three Addisons in the line of fire. Vid beamed and gave a thumbs-up over to the store, while Mags sighed in relief. Now that the blue Addi could focus all of his attention on Spamton, the latter was soon healed up enough to rejoin the fight (much to Vid’s relief, since he couldn’t hold his own against the clown for long).

With the battle now being three on one, the tide turned easily. Soon enough, Spamton had snatched up Jevil by the collar of his jester outfit, practically snarling in his face. “DON’T YOU EVER. COME HERE. AGAIN.”

Jevil rolled his eyes. “OH, PUPPET BOY, YOU KNOW YOU CAN’T STOP ME!”

“WE’LL [[Look and See!]] ABOUT THAT.” he growled. Snapping his arm into a cannon (with Jevil preloaded inside), he fired the jester over the horizon and back to his own realm faster than an Addison could get to a new customer.

“Wow.” Vid said, beaming uncontrollably.

“Hey! We’re still here too, you know!” Click yelled, pounding on the glass (probably starved for some attention more than anything).

Spamton sized up the situation for a moment, before walking over and holding up the roof so it wouldn’t collapse while the rest of the rubble was cleared out. After that, it was easy enough to push the debris away and set the two trapped Addis free. In the meantime, he provided a cursory explanation of how he’d gotten this new body (to the general effect of ‘saw it in a basement, the Lightners helped me get it’, not omitting the part where it was stolen as well but neglecting to mention how he’d attacked said Lightners).

Throughout all of this, Mags had been staring strangely at Spam, to the point where Vid had needed to call his attention back to the rubble twice just to clear it away. Even now, he was gaping openly at his old friend’s new body, not even bothering to hide his expression.

“Hey Mags, the heck is up with you?” Click asked, getting straight to the point.

“H-huh?” The blue Addi started in surprise, coming back to himself. “Sorry, what? I’m perfectly fine.”

“Uh, no you’re not. You’ve been staring at Spam, like, nonstop.” Vid chimed in. “I get that…this…is all new and stuff, but even I wasn’t that distracted.”

Mags’s eyes widened. “Oh—well, I—it’s just that…”

“Just what?” Click said, clearly unconvinced.

“The colors, alright?” Mags burst out all of a sudden, raking his hands through his hair. “It’s like he’s wearing art!”

Spamton glanced over at him, smiling proudly. “I AM!! THIS [One of a kind] BODY WAS [Custom-Made] BY A LIGHTNER!”

“What?!?” Mags yelled. “You’re wearing art made by a Lightner???”

“UH, YEAH?” Spamton said, confused.

“You are coming with me and I am colorpicking my next designs directly from this, do you understand?” the blue Addison insisted. “This is not a request.”

Vid snickered. “Okay, nerd.”

“Says the guy who can name every part of a motorcycle from memory.” Mags shot back without even looking, leaving Vid wheezing and Click outright cackling, whilst Pay simply smirked.

Spamton snickered. “DON’T YOU HAVE TO [[9 to 5]], MAGS?”

“No. Work’s been canceled for the rest of the day because of this attack. Now come back to my apartment.” Mags said flatly.

“Oooooh~” Click called. “So forward, Mags!”

The blue Addi whipped around to stare at him. “I will get you assigned to a secondhand store if you say one more thing, so help me.”

Click immediately mimed zipping his mouth shut, his eyes wide.

“That’s what I thought.” Mags said.

“Hey, can I watch?” Vid asked.

“…sure, if you want to?” Mags replied, somewhat surprised.

“Oooh, we should all get dinner at the Cyber Grill after!” Pay exclaimed excitedly—and then clapped a hand over his mouth once he realized exactly what he’d suggested.

An awkward silence descended on the group of five.

After what felt like the longest moment ever, Spam spoke up. “SOUNDS [Great Deals!] TO ME! ONLY IF YOU ALL [[Buy me dinner first!]] THOUGH.”

“I can do that.” Click said, smiling faintly.

“Hey, don’t take all the credit!” Vid cried. “I’ll pay some too!”

“I’d be happy to pitch in as well.” Mags added.

Pay frowned. “I’m the one who suggested it, I can afford this.”

Spamton’s wings flared slightly, surprised. “YOU GUYS…”

Vid knew what he meant instantly. “We’re all glad to have you back! Of course we wanna pay!” They dashed forward, holding out their arms hopefully.

Suddenly, Spam stepped forward and squeezed all of them in a tight hug, grinning. “THANK YOU.”

Click writhed uncomfortably. “You’re crushing me! Let me out of here!!”

Spamton snickered, tightening his arms teasingly for just a moment before letting them go. “Now can I make my designs?” Mags asked, but he was smiling good-naturedly.

“Yeah! I wanna see!!” Vid cried.

And so, the five of them left to return to Mags’s apartment, and spend the first of what would hopefully be many afternoons enjoying each others’ company.

Thank you as well to my own personal Knight, who helped me work out some early plot points when I was basically rewriting this thing from the ground up. It's kind of massive, though, clocking in at 11-12 thousand words...so would you all prefer to see it split up into a two-parter or have me drop the whole thing at once? WHUMPTOBER is a month-long, prompt-based creation challenge (think: Inktober, but whumpier). There are 31 official themes this year - one for each day of the month - which can be used, skipped, or combined in any way you’d like. They are meant to serve as inspiration without being taken literally (e.g. you don’t have to include the exact wording of prompts into your work). Feel free to run rampant on interpretation. For example, if the prompt is “flame", you could create something with reference to a candle/campfire, your character could have suffered a burn, or the flame could be a reference to an ‘old flame’ - an old relationship. It’s truly down to you!

In total, there are 4 prompts for each day. These are optional suggestions and can be used in conjunction with the theme, or as options/alternatives. We want to give everyone as much creative freedom as possible, as well as increase event accessibility for folks with triggers and squicks. There is also a list of 15 alternative prompts that can be subbed in for any day, again to give participants as much creative freedom as possible.

Creators can PRODUCE work in any media they choose, including but not limited to: writing, visual artwork, photo/video/audio edits, paper crafts and elaborate recommendation lists (not just a list of links). Creators can PARTICIPATE as much or as little as they want (i.e. you don’t have to do ALL the prompts if you don’t want to) and prompts can be used in any order. They are also free to use even after the event ends.

July: Trope voting form released. Late August: Prompt list is released for at least four weeks of preparation time. Tropes cannot be posted earlier than August 25th because of Moderator obligations in real life. (But, you know, go ahead and start writing/drawing, and add the themes in later, if you want!) September: Do as much or as little on your works as you want. You can prepare everything in advance or let September go by with vibes and start working in October. It’s up to you. October 1st: Challenge begins! A storm of whump breaks upon us all! During this time, some posts will be reblogged to the whumptober archive blog. We open the yearly AO3 collection for posting (optional). November 1st: The challenge is officially over! Completionist form opens for those who want to be included in the hall-of-fame. Early November: We release completionist and participant badges, solicit feedback, and post a hall-of-fame list of completionists by the 10th.

Q: What counts as participation? Create or continue at least one work inspired by one of this year’s prompts. Q: What counts as completion? Creating work(s) inspired by at least one prompt from each day (or alts), for a total of 31 unique prompts. Q: Do I need to create 31 works? No. You can, if you want. Q: Do I have to finish my work(s) to be a completionist? No, you can post WIPs. And you’re not obligated to finish them in October, but if you want it to count towards being a completionist, you must have completed 31 prompts by the end of the month. So for example, if you’re writing a long fic and you fit 31 different prompts into the writing you did in October, it’s okay if that fic isn’t finished by the time October ends, you’ll still be a completionist. Q: Is co-writing/illustrating allowed? Yes, absolutely, and it would count towards being a completionist for both/all of you. Q: Is there a min/max limit on word count for written works? No. Q: Is there a min/max limit of quality for art? No. Q: Do I have to do something each day to be a completionist? No. You can skip days whenever you want, and as long as 31 daily prompts (or alts) are in your works done in October, you can be a completionist. PROMPTS

Q: How do the prompts work? There are FOUR prompts per day: a theme and three ideas. You can use one, two, three, or all four prompts for each day. If you don’t like any of the daily prompts, you can substitute one of the ALT prompts instead. Q: How strictly/literally should we interpret the prompts? As literally or as figuratively as you want. For example, if the theme is WATER, that could mean drowning, waterboarding, raining, swimming, take place underwater, be lost at sea, construct a metaphor about a character’s mood that changes like a flowing river, crying, or whatever else you can think of that fits that theme. Q: Can I combine prompts? Is there a limit on how many? No limit and combine as many as you’d like. Q: What’s whump? Hurting a character, whether that’s physically, emotionally, intellectually, psychologically, or any other way you can think of. Comfort afterwards is optional. Angst is emotional whump, so it counts. Q: How do I know if it’s whumpy enough? If your character is just mildly inconvenienced, it probably needs more whump. However, no participant has to prove whumpiness to the mods. Whatever you write is up to you. Q: What kind of characters can I create for? Anything. Generic “whumpee,” OC, PC, NPC, major characters, minor characters, or whatever you want. There are no limits. Q: Does it have to take place in a specific fandom? No, you can create works for your own worlds or for fandoms or for both. You can also create more generic or pan-fandom works. You can do cross-overs or use OCs, whatever you want. Q: Can I create AI-created works? We will not reblog or promote any works we know to be generative AI-created. Q: Is there anything we’re not allowed to write? As long as it contains whump and is based on our prompts, it’s fine. Please courtesy tag your works if you post them so people who follow the #whumptober2024 tag can filter according to their preferences. Q: What about sex, minor characters, and potentially disturbing content? You can create whatever works are legal in your country and post them accordingly. Hey everyone it seems there a malicious individual trying to hack the sims cc community again and fill it with malware you need to stay vigilant as a creator and a downloader so

i have some tips for both to stay safe while downloading:

1- sims cc file extension is always .Package never download anything that is .exe

2- do not auto unpack zip files and rar files into your mods folder directly, open each zip or rar individually check the file extensions and drag them to your mods folder one by one

3- the only mods that have a .ts4script extension are ones that affect gameplay or how the game works, understand that if you are downloading cas or bb items you shouldn't have a .ts4script file

4- if you are downloading gameplay mods that do have .ts4script make sure that A) the creator hasn't announced on their pages that its infected B) you are downloading from a link provided by the creator of the mods themselves not something off of google or a link you got sent and make sure dates of upload match dated of announcements

5- if the mod or cc creator has retired and hasn't posted for a while LOOK AT THE DATES OF THE UPLOAD if it has been "updated recently" after the creator has left the community its most likely re-uploaded by a hacker and infected

6- download mod gaurd by Twisted mexi and keep it updated and keep your windows defender or malware detector Program up to date and always running do not disable it

7- make sure everything you download comes from a direct link from the cc creator, in this day and age do not trust link shortners, adfly, linkverse, etc get the universal bypass extension and ublock extension to stay safe but genuinely NEVER CLICK ON THOSE no matter how much the creator reassures you its safe it. is. NOT.

8- this is more of a general saftey precaution but, create a system restore point weekly before you run the game with new mods that way if anything happens you could have a chance to restore your windows to an earlier date before you downloaded anything.

9- BACK UP YOUR SHIT im serious right now either weekly or monthly put your files somewhere safe like a usb a storage card a hard drive even an online cloud if you dont have any of the previous.

10- files you should back up are your media from games and media everything else, any mods, games saves, work files, passwords, saved bookmarks, any documents txt files word files pdfs, links you saved, brushes or actions for Photoshop if you have any, any digital bills or certificates if you have any, and keep a physical list of all programs you have installed and where you installed them from

11- turn on any 2 factor authentication and security measures for any account you have

12- google and firefox have the option to check your paswords and emails against any data leaks USE THIS FEATURE and change any leaked passwords

13- regularly check your logged in sessions to make sure all the logged in devices or computers are yours and log out any that aren't and any old devices or unused sessions do this for every website and app you have an account on if available

14- change your passwords often. I know this is a hassle i know its hard to come up with new passwords but changing your passwords every few months will help you against anything mention previously that wasn't detected.

15- and as a cc creator check your cc and the accounts you host cc on and its uplaod and update dates make sure nothing has been changed without your permission :(

16- generally try not to get swept up in the "i must get it" fever you do not need to "shop" for mods weekly or monthly you do not need to download everything by that one creator you do not need to download new cc everytime you want to make a sim, im guilty of this so i know how hard it is to resist but take a breath and think "do i want this or do i need it" before downloading.

These are prevention methods i cant claim they are 100% will prevent any hacking but its better to be safe than sorry and these do keep you safe so

so, i tried to be pretty understanding and give him the benefit of the doubt (try to assume ignorance instead of malice and all that).

yesterday, he reached out to me to ask for permission to recreate one of my gif sets. i thought it would be a good opportunity to bring up my concerns over him not crediting other people (my earlier work included) and ripping off their sets. after i brought all of that up, he stopped replying to my messages. following that, i told him i'd be uncomfortable with giving him permission to replicate my work if he doesn't seem to care about neither my concerns nor other people's wishes.

in a complete 180 from his previous attitude, he told me that i don't own a format and that he would basically do whatever he wants to because it's his characters and everyone on tumblr copies each other without any credit anyway (very "valid" reason, btw, "others steal so it's ok for me to steal too").

and, of course, as a turd cherry on this shit cake, he immediately blocked me after that message. i'm including his full response just in case i misrepresented something but some things just speak for themselves.

I've noticed in the selfship community we don't talk a lot about ita bags and other DIY fan culture things much! To some extent it makes sense, as it might feel strange to some to have a lot of merch of someone you're viewing as a partner? But I've personally found it fun and wanted to share some video tutorials and inspiration for anyone else that might want a craft or project to dedicate to their f/o or comfort character!

Bags for displaying official or fanmade pins, keychains, and merch! There's a million ways to do this, but here's a couple to use as jumping off points.

No problem, lets talk about how to diy that too!

You can use shrink plastic to make your own keychains!

You can also make pins in lots of different ways!

There are also Etsy sellers who will make custom badges from art as long as you have permission by the artist! If you have your own fanart, or can ask an artist you've commissioned, this would also be an accessible way while still looking more "official."

Finally, I believe these are usually used on Uchiwa fans (see later section), but I've used these paper letters alone as ita bag decorations! Name boards combine the letters or kanji of a character's name (or a different word relevant to the character) with their picture!

Do you have one standout badge that you'd like to highlight on your bag, or maybe you just want to make it into a keychain? Rosettes are great for that, and there's a million ways to make them. Here's a few!

Do you have paper goods such as photo cards or mini prints that need a safe but stylish way to be stored and displayed? Photo card holders are the way to go! There's a lot of different styles people like to use:

Tutorials for photo cards do exist, and I will link them, but it's worth noting that it's a lot of work and the quality you get depends a ton on the quality of your printer. If you have access to an art printer, these will turn out great! If you're using a regular printer, however, you may be unsatisfied with the quality. Buying prints from small artists or having regular photos printed would be other alternatives.

Fans that are often printed with your favorite idol to use at concerts! While it originates there, people have started making them for their fictional favorites as decor too. You can create a full size fan (they sell blanks on amazon) or create a mini keychain version for an ita bag!

These can be quite complicated, but you can make your f/o as a plushie! Especially great for f/os who have no official plush merch.

This tutorial goes very fast, but it looks easy enough. This is only one example tutorial. There's also this pattern you can work with if you mostly understand sewing.

A more approachable plush like project would be these felt "plushies"!

You can also buy plushie bases like these , and then all that's left is the face, hair, clothes, etc.! You would probably approach it like in this video but the style would be up to you. I love how this creator embroiders faces!

History will no doubt look upon the outcome of the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard with the same skepticism now applied to O.J. Simpson's 1995 acquittal after charges of his killing his wife and her friend. The 2022 trial, in which Depp sued Heard for defamation after she made anonymous allusions to domestic violence in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed, was a farce — by design. Depp hired publicist Melissa Nathan, who famously bragged she could "bury anyone," to seed social media networks with misogynist rumors about Heard, who had been 25 when she started dating the 48-year-old movie star. The New York Times later reported on Nathan's alleged tactics, based on court documents from a similar campaign against actress Blake Lively. The strategy, according to the Times, is "waging a largely undetectable smear campaign in the digital era," which succeeded when "online criticism of the actress skyrocketed." The evidence in Depp v. Heard, in a sane world, should have favored Heard. His claim to damages was that Heard's op-ed led to him losing his lead role in "Pirates of the Caribbean." A Disney executive denied this on the witness stand, and Depp's longtime talent agent testified that Depp's erratic behavior was what soured his reputation on set. As Jessica Winter at the New Yorker wrote during the trial, Heard produced "a trove of text messages, witness statements, and photos of injuries — which, she says, corroborate her allegations of abuse." Depp had previously sued a British tabloid for calling him a "wife-beater," and he lost, even though British law favors plaintiffs in defamation cases to an outrageous degree. The judge described Heard's side of the story as "substantially true."

[...] As that last sentence suggests, the case ended up being tried in the court of public opinion, where the preposterous story that Depp was the real victim took hold. Instructions to the jurors to ignore the crescendo of support for Depp outside the courtroom didn't matter, leading to a $15 million judgment in his favor. It's not clear how much of the pro-Depp clamor was seeded by his hired guns, but in the end, they were pushing on an open door. As journalist Kat Tenbarge reported for NBC at the time, content creators for TikTok and YouTube found that spreading sexist rumors about Heard was like printing money. There was an immense amount of public hunger in 2022 to forget all the lessons of the #MeToo movement, and instead fall back into the comfortable belief that sexism is a myth, women just make up stories for attention, and it's accused men who are the real victims.

This week is the third anniversary of the day that a jury favored Depp over Heard. Looking back, the whole situation can be read as a portent for the 2024 election of Donald Trump. The public outpouring of support for Depp reflected a widespread willingness to choose self-delusion over facing hard truths, especially about the dangers of male domination. For a lot of people, it's exhausting hearing about how many women are beaten, raped, killed, harassed, and otherwise oppressed. It can feel much easier to believe it's all just made up. It's simpler to believe that ours is a just system, even as men still hold the lion's share of power and money. It's comforting to imagine that men react to all their privilege with grace and gratitude, and ignore the reality where all too many abuse women because they can. Trump was selling the same message to his voters: Wouldn't it be easier to live in a fantasy where patriarchy is all kittens and rainbows? Isn't it easier to live in the lie than confront the hard truth?

[...] The far-right website Daily Wire spent an astonishing amount of money promoting anti-Heard propaganda during the trial, which confused many people at the time. The Daily Wire is a political outfit, so why would they care about celebrity gossip that doesn't seem to have any partisan value to it? But they understood that Heard v. Depp did benefit Republicans, especially Trump. The entire circus was useful for convincing people that it's okay to choose disinformation over the truth, especially when the facts make you feel bad. It all goes back to George Orwell's insight with the "two-minute hate" in "1984." Self-delusion takes practice. Defending Depp was boot camp for the real test: supporting the lie that Donald Trump would make a fine president.

The Depp v. Heard trial ended up being a decent predictor of the increased support for Trump in 2024 among young males.

Statement Regarding False Claims Made Against Joetastic by Dylan/ @anyamusumesonlywife

Author: Concerned members of the Mouthwashing community, friends of Joe, and Joe himself

Introduction

This post is a joint statement written in defense of Joetastic (hereafter referred to as Joe), a creator in the Mouthwashing community, who has recently been the target of misinformation, mischaracterization, and public defamation. The accusations originate from a former collaborator, anyamusumesonlywife (hereafter referred to as Dylan), and have been circulated via a written document on Google Docs, two TikTok videos, one Tumblr post, and several word-of-mouth messages in community servers on discord.

While Joe has remained silent publicly until now, the scale and intensity of the false claims, combined with the reputational damage they have caused, make it necessary to issue a detailed and factual response. This statement reflects not only Joe's perspective, but also that of peers, colleagues, and neutral parties who have reviewed the evidence and feel compelled to clarify what truly occurred.

This document is not intended to cause harm, incite harassment, or encourage retaliation against Dylan in any form. Its sole purpose is to clarify the facts, present context, and refute the false claims that have been made about Joe. While emotions are understandably high, we ask that readers approach this with maturity and respect. This is about defending someone’s character, not attacking another’s. Any form of harassment directed toward Dylan or anyone involved is strongly discouraged and not condoned by Joe or anyone contributing to this statement.

Context & Timeline

December 26, 2024:

Joe contacts Dylan on Discord asking permission to use their OC in a fan animation. Dylan responds enthusiastically, stating: “YOU CAN 100000% USE MY OC IN ANYTHING!! ID BE SO HONORED.”

Over the following weeks, Dylan provides detailed reference material, lore, and expresses gratitude. They never object to any creative decisions made during this period.

Joe maintains professional, transparent communication throughout. Even clarifying their pronouns so as to not misgender their OC accidentally. There is no indication of discomfort or distress from Dylan.

January 11, 2025:

Joe starts becoming increasingly uncomfortable using someone else’s OC for public-facing content. This is influenced by private feedback and the growing popularity of his work. Joe begins planning an original character, Eira, as a way to tell WLW stories while keeping personal and professional lines clearer.

January 12, 2025:

Dylan noticeably starts to change attitude and starts pressuring Joe

"Yeah if I paid for something I'd want it to be posted D: I don't mean to argue at all /gen I was just super looking forward to finally being seen with my Oc and thought that maybe you posting about them would get selfshipping a bit of a better representation"

Joe talks about making the OC video for free to make it up to Dylan and labeling it as a commission in order to protect both of them over harassment regarding favoritism which Dylan agreed with and voiced no complaints.

Keep in mind that at this point, despite Joe quoting Dylan $40 for a casual model of Dylan’s OC, the transaction has not been made yet and Dylan has not paid for anything.

Dylan later tells Joe that they are in a hospital before proceeding to mention Joe abandoning Dylan’s OC again

Joe pays the $40 out of his own pocket for Dylan’s Casual OC model on Dylan’s behalf first and offers Dylan to pay him any amount for it as he feels bad and wants to make it up to them.

Dylan mentions how the model has a bigger chest which was a misunderstanding by the modeler that was cleared up quickly.

January 15, 2025:

Dylan tells Joe that people are sending cruel messages to them because he was going to use their OC

Joe suggests to Dylan to turn off anonymous inboxes in order to stop the harassment. Dylan states that they chose not to turn it off on their other RP account and continues showing Joe the harassment Dylan has received.

Joe once again sympathizes with Dylan and makes a post telling people not to harass them on his Tumblr profile.

February 27, 2025:

Joe debuts Eira publicly. The character receives instant fan praise, with followers eager to see more interactions between her and Anya.

March 2, 2025:

Dylan voices being upset that their OC did not get the chance to be used by Joe.

Joe points out it’s for the best incase they mischaracterize Dylan and end up hurting Dylan’s feelings.

Joe tries to reassure Dylan again.

March 4, 2025:

March 8, 2025:

Dylan starts blaming Joe for harassment and taking the spotlight from sapphic people like them. Joe states that those harassing Dylan do not represent him and that he does not condone them harassing anybody. Joe once again reassures Dylan it isn’t his intent to steal attention away from anybody’s OC.

At this point, Joe began to feel that Dylan was manipulating him. Blaming him for things beyond his control and growing increasingly hostile. Though he agreed to make another Tumblr post at Dylan’s request, he hesitated, wanting first to confirm whether his suspicions about Dylan’s intentions and feelings toward him were valid.

Joe once again made it clear that it was never his intention to make anyone uncomfortable. He expressed this repeatedly, hoping to de-escalate the situation and reassure Dylan of his good faith. However, the constant accusations, shifting expectations, and increasingly tense tone from Dylan left Joe feeling emotionally drained and deeply uncomfortable continuing the conversation. Despite his efforts to resolve things respectfully, it became clear that nothing he said was enough to satisfy Dylan. After enduring repeated blame and pressure, Joe ultimately decided, for his own well-being, to stop engaging with Dylan after March 9th.

March 12, 2025:

Despite their agreement to part ways after the free video Joe made for them, Dylan begins circulating a document on a private server framing Joe as manipulative, inconsiderate, and abusive.

The document was then intentionally sent to the developers of Mouthwashing.

March 13, 2025:

When Joe learned that Dylan had created a document filled with false claims and had shared it with the moderators of the Mouthwashing server, knowing it would reach the developers, he felt that a clear line had been crossed. This wasn’t just a personal dispute anymore. Iit was an attempt to damage his professional relationships and potentially jeopardize his future opportunities within a community he had contributed to. It was deeply hurtful to see someone he had once collaborated with try to turn trusted colleagues against him.

In light of this, Joe made the decision to formally request that Dylan no longer use the free work he had created for them. He asked that all related posts be removed from Dylan’s social media, as continuing to showcase the work felt exploitative and disingenuous given the circumstances.

March 15, 2025:

Although Dylan initially respected Joe’s request and removed the content he had worked on, they soon chose to go public with their version of events. Dylan published a Tumblr post detailing their side of the situation, painting Joe in a negative light and reigniting the narrative despite previously agreeing to take a step back. When Joe became aware of the post, he was disappointed but chose to remain silent. At the time, the post wasn’t gaining much traction, and Joe hoped that by not engaging further, the situation would deescalate. His priority was to move on quietly and avoid fueling more drama, even if it meant allowing false or misleading narratives to go unchallenged, for a while.

March 21, 2025:

Joe publicly releases a new animation featuring his characters Eira and Anya. The video shared a few thematic similarities with the earlier animation he had created for Dylan, but it was completely re-animated from the ground up.

Shortly after its release, Dylan sent Joe a direct message accusing him of stealing their animation idea. This was despite the fact that Dylan had never contributed to the production of the video in question. Not in writing, animation, direction, or execution. Joe begins experiencing increased hostility, especially in the Wrong Organ server.

Rumors originating from Dylan began circulating within the Wrong Organ Discord server. Some concerned members of the community reached out to Joe directly to inform him about what was being said.

One of these individuals, growing increasingly concerned, chose to inform Joe about what was happening. It was revealed that Dylan had also been privately messaging random members of the Wrong Organ Discord server out of the blue to talk about Joe.

According to this individual, Dylan not only reached out to people to talk about Joe, but also frequently used these conversations to vent their personal problems and frustrations. When the topic shifted away from their issues, Dylan would quickly lose interest and disengage.

March 30, 2025:

Dylan decides to be bolder and creates 2 TikTok videos claiming Joe has been stalking and harassing them. Dylan also lies to everybody about Joe’s age and sexuality in order to make him seem more creepy, and accuses him of fetishzing lesbians. Dylan also claimed Joe purposefully shared suggestive content to minors on discord when what he did was simply share the videos he made to the Wrong Organ discord server. The Developers and Moderators have stated those videos were not suggestive and are okay to post.

Dylan’s accusations that Joe is being creepy and fetishizing lesbians are based on out-of-context screenshots. In this example, Joe was not referring to lesbians in general, but specifically to Dylan, who is not a lesbian. The comments were a direct response to Dylan’s repeated criticisms, not a dismissal of the broader sapphic community. The framing of this exchange to suggest Joe was targeting all lesbians is intentionally misleading.

These TikToks that Dylan posted were quickly gaining traction and starting to snowball out of control. When Joe woke up to these videos, he saw that it had already gotten 20k views, 3k likes, 270 comments and 500 bookmarks with these numbers quickly increasing each minute.

In the comments of both TikTok posts, Dylan continued to spread false information and actively engaged with, and at times endorsed cruel, demeaning remarks directed at Joe.

Fearing for the safety of his reputation and watching the false rumors gain increasing traction, Joe realized that remaining silent was no longer an option. After weeks of trying to avoid conflict, it became clear that Dylan had no intention of stopping. The only way to set the record straight was to speak up. Shortly after, Joe made a public Twitter post addressing the situation:

hi friends!! this is the first installment in my new tiktok trend series about your fav uk youtubers and your fav tiktok trends!! please please please send me any ideas you might have for this, especially a trend or a person you would like to see featured!!

Scrolling through TikTok was beginning to find a permanent spot in your nighttime routine. It had been several years since your account blew up, so you convinced yourself that you were doing research for new video ideas every time you spent an hour or so watching before bed. One recent trend was definitely piquing your interest, and with the help of your boyfriend's friends, you were confident that you could pull it off. Creators were staging a “who’s most likely to” game with someone close to their significant other, and asking the other person to be mean to them in order to catch their partner's reaction. You had the perfect idea, and were planning on getting a great reaction out of George.

It was an unusual evening at Casa Clarke-Dixon-Hill. All three roommates were home, and no one was streaming or working, so you managed to round them up and convince them to film a TikTok with you. You had talked to Arthur and Chris beforehand, letting them in on the prank and giving them permission to be as mean as they could, but George was clueless.

You placed your phone on the tripod and sat in a row, with Chris and Arthur on either side of you, and George standing behind looking curious.

Pressing record, you smiled, “Hey friends! Today I am joined by George, Arthur, and Chris, and we’re going to be playing a game of “who’s most likely to” where all of the answers are decided by George!”

All three of the boys let out a small cheer.

“Alright, George, who has the best voice?”

“Oh wow, starting off with a difficult one are we?” he laughed, “Obviously my singer friend Arthur.”

Arthur pumped his fist and cheered, “Yes! I’m just glad you didn’t say (Y/N), she sounds about like nails on a chalkboard.”

You saw George make a bit of a face in the camera before saying, “(Y/N) has a lovely voice.”

Ignoring the comment from Arthur, you continued, “Okay next, who is the smartest?”

George’s eyes bounced between the three of you in deep thought before calling out, “(Y/N).”

You turned around to smile at him, while Arthur and Chris shook their heads. George was suspiciously eyeing both of them as they looked at each other. Chris leaned past you to say to Arthur, “there is absolutely no way he actually thinks she’s smarter than either of us, right? She’s a TikToker for crying out loud.”

Arthur laughed and answered, “I thought he was joking to be honest.”

Your boyfriend was not laughing, he eyed the camera warily before putting on an exaggerated confused face in an attempt to ease the tension, “is this a who’s most likely to quiz, or an everyone bully George’s beautiful girlfriend quiz?”

You laughed awkwardly, doing your best to play into the uncomfortable atmosphere that was rapidly growing.

“Anyways, who’s the meanest?”

George does not even hesitate before answering, “Chris.”

Chris’s head turns around, eyes wide with shock, “you’re actually joking.”

“I would have said (Y/N),” Arthur mumbled, loud enough to hear.

“I would have said (Y/N) too!” Chris exclaimed, “she’s so unnecessarily rude all the time!”

You sat back with wide eyes and listened to the chaos unfold, watching George’s face grow red as his flatmates continued ripping into you.

“What the hell is going on!” he snapped, looking back and forth between his two friends, “Why are both of you being such dickheads to (Y/N)? Don’t talk about her like that.” He grabbed your hand to pull you up from your seat, “C’mon babe, delete that video. Let’s go film something else for you to post.”

Before he could grab your phone you decided it was time to give yourself up, “it’s a joke! It’s a trend!”

He turned back to look at you, “what?”

“I put them up to it. I told them to be mean to me.”

“Well that’s a fucking relief,” he laughed and put a hand over his heart, “I thought I was going to have to move out, oh my days.”

By the end of the day the video had over a million views, and a comment section filled with women thirsting over your boyfriend.
