"In drought-stricken areas, communities facing water shortages, or even in residential and commercial buildings eager to improve their environmental footprints, atmospheric water generators represent a new frontier in water production.
While it might sound like a tidbit from a science fiction movie, even the driest places on earth have moisture in the air that can be extracted and used for everyday necessities like plumbing and drinking. 
Unlike traditional dehumidifiers, which also pull moisture from the air, AWGs utilize filtration and sterilization technology to make water safe to drink. 
And while there are plenty of AWG companies out there — and the science itself isn’t novel — AWGs are becoming more efficient, affordable, and revolutionary in combating water scarcity in a myriad of communities.
Aquaria Technologies, a San Francisco-based AWG startup, was founded in 2022 to help provide affordable and clean drinking water in areas most affected by climate change. 
Using heat exchange and condensation, Aquaria’s generators draw air into their systems, cool that air below its dew point, and as it condenses, capture that water and filter it for consumption. 
As the cycle continues, the generator’s refrigerant vaporizes and goes through a process that cools it back into a liquid, meaning the heat transfer cycle repeats continuously in an energy-efficient and self-sustaining system.
“I’m sure you’ve had the experience in the summer, you take a glass of a cold drink out of the fridge and then water droplets form on the side of the bottle,” Aquaria’s co-founder and CEO Brian Sheng, said in a podcast episode. “That’s actually condensation.”
Sheng continued: “The question is, how do we create condensation? How do we extract water out of the air in large volume and using little energy? That’s what our technology does. We have created both active and passive cooling methods where we use special materials, and we’ve created heat exchange and recovery systems and airflow design, such that we’re maximizing heat exchange, and then we’re able to extract large volumes of water.”
Aquaria has created a number of generators, but its stand-alone model — the Hydropack X — can replace an entire home’s dependence on municipal water, producing as much as 264 gallons of potable water per day. 
Other models, like the Hydrostation, can provide water for up to 1,500 people at parks, construction sites, or other outdoor public areas. The Hydropixel can make 24 gallons of water per day for a seamless at-home application, requiring a simple outlet for power. 
“Atmospheric water generators present a groundbreaking solution to the global challenge of clean water scarcity, leveraging the humidity present in the air to produce potable water,” the company’s website explains.
“This technology is versatile, functioning efficiently across diverse climates — from arid regions to tropical settings. From rural communities in developing countries to advanced cities facing unexpected droughts, atmospheric water generators have a wide range of applications… transforming lives and providing secure, clean water sources.”
Considering an estimated 2.2 billion people lack access to clean water globally — including in American cities like Flint, Michigan, or Modesto, California — innovative solutions like AWGs are vital to maintaining the basic human right to clean water. 
The World Economic Forum has begun to dip its toes into this technology as well, implementing public and private partnerships to introduce AWG units in Arizona’s Navajo Nation, where the machines produce about 200 gallons of clean water per day.
“When combined with an appropriate level of community engagement and triple-bottom-line business (people, planet, profit),” a blog post for WE Forum said, “this model can be a powerful stopgap solution where few exist today.”
Similarly, according to New Atlas, Aquaria has a partnership with developers to supply its technology to a 1,000-home community in Hawaii later this year, relying entirely on atmospherically generated water.
The company also has a “Frontier Access Program,” which partners with water-related NGOs, community project developers, and sustainable development groups to deploy this technology in areas most in need.
Regardless of their use cases — in homes, in communities facing water shortages, or at aid sites navigating natural disasters — AWGs have a minimal environmental impact. Sourcing water “from thin air,” requires no plastic bottles, no large-scale plants using up loads of energy, and no byproducts that can harm the environment."

Dr. Robotnik seemed to grow a large fixation on the space hedgehog. Originally it was because of the hedgehog’s seemingly infinite energy that could be used to power his babies, and then it changed to revenge against the alien. The doctor has fluctuating interests fairly often, the only consistent ones being robotics and dancing. Stone could recall when the doctor had been into poison gardening, and the many safety hazards he had to fix during and after the debacle. It seems his current interest however is the hedgehog or more specifically, the hedgehog’s quill.
It wasn't a far stretch to say it bordered on addiction at times. Dr. Robotnik had always enjoyed things that made him feel alive. Except instead of goat milk lattes and dancing, it became an unknown energy from a mysterious space organism.
The doctor seemed to be licking the thing rather often these days. Seemingly a few times every hour, when the shock seemed to fade. He'd act unsettled in between doses and his fingers would twitch towards the thing. Stone could see the calculations in his eyes as it darted from telenovela to the quill and back again. He could also see the moment he gave in. It would begin with the doctor wetting his lips, grabbing the quill with his fingers, before bringing it to brush the pink tip of his tongue. It would soon be followed by the spasm, then a state of invigoration with an undertone of euphoria.
It began to get more unsettling for Stone when the dosages got more frequent, and he felt something had to change now before it caused something permanent. Before it caused lasting damage to his beloved doctor.
Stone had few options to consider in terms of overcoming addiction. All the articles he read would mention something the doctor would need to sign up for which was difficult considering they were legally dead. It also mentioned socializing with others, but Dr. Robotnik would probably incinerate anyone who wasn't his agent. While a hobby is the most appropriate, it would be difficult to find one the doctor is amenable to, much less one to keep his interest for long.
Stone would need something the doctor would be 1. Interested in; 2. Have a consistent application, or alternatively, be easily administered by Stone; and 3. Be accessible inside the Crab. The agent considered rekindling the doctor’s love for robotics, but the doctor had been in a slump, and any failures or any reminders of past failures, may undo any progress it has made. He also thought of dancing but that had always been more about the release of energy, which the doctor was in a severe lack of and made up for it with a drug-adjacent animal spine.
Stone seemed to cycle through many solutions, and reached dead ends as many times. His thoughts seemed to drift in-between those moments. It would never stray away from Dr. Robotnik (and even thoughts that did always circled back to him) but rather focused on Stone’s… unprofessional views about him.
He would imagine scenarios which would never happen, scenarios where he'd been transported to the Mushroom planet with him, or where they'd bear each other's hearts to one another under the veil of night. Romantic thoughts that wouldn't be permissible had the doctor developed telepathic powers. He imagined mapping the planes of his face with his lips, before connecting their lips with the doctor seeming enthusiastic about it all.
Those thoughts seemed to be the only thing powering him through these days. Rewind. Powering him through. Power. Energy? Huh.
It was nighttime; the doctor was enraptured by the current episode of La Última Pasión. Stone discreetly typed into his search engine, benefits of kissing. The doctor didn't seem attentive towards what goes through his database these days, so it was unlikely he'd find out what Stone was searching. The first article that came up was from Healthline.
Kissing triggers your brain to release a cocktail of chemicals that leave you feeling oh so good by igniting the pleasure centers of the brain.
He skimmed through the article several times. This was a stupid idea honestly. 1. Dr. Robotnik may not be interested in this, 2. He may reject any advances from Stone, but it is accessible within the Crab. But now that the idea was sowed into his head, it seemed impossible to stop justifying it. The more articles and research papers he skimmed, the less insane it seemed. And really, the issues with it are merely hypotheticals and not certainties. Surely this would be fine, right? What's the worst that could happen?
It was early in the morning by the time Stone seemed ready to confront the doctor. He probably should have postponed it for when the doctor was in an amiable mood and Stone had a clear head, but he knew that if he took the time to think, he would back out. (He probably should back out, but he’s getting tired of pining for 9 years.)
The doctor was in the middle of an episode of La Última Pasión where Juan and Gabriella are preparing to elope. He seemed to be in a good mood which means the hedgehog’s energy must still be present in his system. It seems to be a good enough time to bring up The Proposal.
“Ahem, Doctor. May I-”
“No, Stone, you may not, will not, and never will! Whatever you have to say is null until Gabriella and Juan escape from Pablo and his mother-aunt.” Dr. Robotnik interrupted, anger lacing his tone.
“Doctor, I think it would be prudent-”
“Stone, when have I ever asked you to think?!” He finally turned around. He had a scowl clouding his face and Stone felt thrilled at the attention somewhere in his hindbrain.
“Never, Sir. However it would be in your best interest to hear out my proposal.”
Dr. Robotnik seemed to have a flash of surprise on his face which then became a quick flitting of his eyes, most likely analyzing Stone’s expression. Not a new habit by any counts as the doctor likes to take in as much information as possible.
“Now why would I need to hear you out, Stone? Pray tell, what could you possibly offer that could benefit me in any way shape or form?” The doctor seemed interested at least to hear him out.
“Sir, I’ve been noticing your growing habit of using the hedgehog's quill as a.. stimulant of sorts. I'm worried that excessive exposure to its energy may prove detrimental to your health.”
“Are you saying I am an addict, Stone? Do you think the great Dr. Ivo Robotnik has fallen so far down that he needs to resort to, what, self-medicating himself by relying on the very thing that destroyed him in the first place?” His fingers seemed to brush against the alien’s quill, most likely in a form of defiance against the agent.
“Not at all Sir, I just think that- maybe you may need to hold off on it. I’ve thought of a solution to help along with the process” Now that he's actually thinking about it, following up with his kissing-as-a-substitute plan may seem moronic. He probably should've phrased himself better though because soon after the doctor took the electric blue quill and pressed it to his tongue. His head jolted around spastically in many directions before slowing to a stop.
“What, Stone, would ever come close to the effect this quill has on me? Hm? What has your lesser-than brain thought of?” He tossed the quill to the side and stood up. Dr. Robotnik walked closer until Stone could feel the man's breath ghost his face from the proximity. The doctor grabbed his jaw and pulled it up.
“Well, Stone? I’m waiting.”
“Considering the parameters I thought of, I came to the conclusion that it would be best to substitute your fixation with another one that activated your endorphins. Because it's not feasible to go out so often and our limited resources and space in the crab, I thought it prudent that it could just be something… physical.”
“I don't think you're proposing I should play pickleball here in the Crab, right?”
“No Sir, I was thinking along the lines of… kissing.”
Dr. Robotnik’s grip on his jaw loosened before falling to the side. He had rendered the doctor speechless, it seemed. Not for long though because he followed with,
“What goes on in that inane, plebeian, mind of yours Stone? Let's say I agree, to whom do I join lips with? It's only you and me here, Stone, and I will keep it that way whether I'm some addict or not.”
“Well, I was thinking it could be.. me?” Stone really hoped his face didn’t look as hopeful as he felt. The doctor seemed to withdraw and processed the agent’s statements. When he reached a conclusion, he wrapped an arm around Stone's waist before pulling his chin up and pressing his lips against Stone’s.
Dr. Robotnik tasted of hopes, dreams, and guac. Stone let out a soft sigh, against the man’s chapped lips and fuzzy moustache. He couldn't tell if he was imagining the static electricity lacing his lips, and wondered if the doctor was as pleased about this as he was. He opened his eyes midway and saw Dr. Robotnik’s eyes staring back. It seemed as though he never closed them in the first place.
If it were up to Stone, he'd never stop, but the doctor soon loosened his hold and stepped back. He looked unfazed by the whole thing but Stone knew if he looked in a mirror he'd look a mess somehow. Dr. Robotnik looked pleased at his expression which seemed to bode well.
“Stone, you may be onto something here. I'll agree to your, as you called it, proposal, but I’ll be the one to dictate when it ends.” Oh. Stone didn't consider that it would have to end someday. He'd have to make the most of it while he could.
“Of course, Sir.”
The days following that, Dr. Robotnik seemed to perk up and slowly regain his old self again. While the telenovela would play in the back, the doctor would tinker with whatever materials he found in the Crab. It had been two years since his initial accident, so the doctor’s hair had grown out and reached his nape. He looked softer than he had in the previous years Stone worked for the man, and it looked good on him.
He took more care of himself as well. He took semi-regular showers, ate more than a burrito, and his mind seemed to run faster than ever. Stone hadn't seen the man like this in a long while, and he was feeling rather emotional. Not that he'd show it. Best to stick with praises, not feelings.
It felt best, however, when the doctor would pull him close to peck him on the lips. The frequency seemed to increase as the days went by but never seemed to breach anything beyond just a peck which was perfectly fine with Stone to be honest. He'd take whatever the doctor would give him, and there's not much to ask for. Hope for, though, that was a different thing.
Stone was feeling a bit pent up from the physical attention the doctor seemed to give him. This started because of the mixture of Stone’s worries and also his romantic feelings towards Dr. Robotnik. He knew the doctor wouldn't reciprocate it, but the physical affection would make him feel on top of the world before bringing him back to the hell that is reality. Stone wouldn't ask the doctor about his feelings, but it would be well within his rights to question their arrangement, right?
He walked over to the counter where the doctor was tinkering with an opened Badnik. It would be best not to interrupt him now as distracting him may mess with the Badnik’s wiring as well.
He considered asking the doctor as he chewed down on a sandwich, but it wouldn’t be a productive conversation if one side had to be chewing at this time.
The doctor was in the middle of watching an episode of La Última Pasión, but it was in the middle of the climax of the episode which would annoy Dr. Robotnik if he interrupted.
Scenarios like these seemed to build up until Dr. Robotnik himself seemed to notice.
“Stone, what on earth and beyond are you tiptoeing around?” He was tapping his foot against the floor, arms crossed, as he questioned the Agent. Stone was taken off guard and dropped the broom he was holding. He bent down to grab it and put it away and could feel the doctor's impatient stare over every inch of his body.
“I'm not sure what—”
“Stone, I’m going to be kind enough to give you one more chance to spit it out.”
“I've just been wanting to ask, Sir, if there was any reason behind your acceptance of this proposal of mine.” Stone’s fingers itched to fidget but the doctor had eyes like a hawk and latched onto any body language he showed. He still keeps his eyes open to watch Stone when they kiss.
“Do you have any compelling reason for me to answer this?” If Stone was as imbecilic as other people think he is, he'd say it's because he harbors an unprofessional interest in Dr. Robotnik but sadly he has an IQ of 301.
“Call it a personal curiosity, Sir.”
“I see no reason why I'd need to satiate your curiosity, but if it were attraction maybe I'd think otherwise.” Dr. Robotnik was definitely trying to coax it out of him.
“I’m afraid it's only curiosity, Sir.”
The doctor seemed dissatisfied and strutted towards the agent, grabbed him by the back of his neck, and joined their lips. Just as electrifying as the previous times sans any alien influences. This time, he pried open Stone's lips with his tongue. Stone almost short-circuited and he could feel his heart rate increase drastically. The doctor took this time to join their hands together for some reason which tugged at the agent’s heartstrings.
When they pulled away, Stone opened his eyes and came face to face with a smiling doctor. Not an uncommon phenomenon but it does increase in rarity when said smile lacks any evil forces behind it. Rather, it seemed to be a genuine smile for whatever reason. Stone felt himself smile too despite the tells it might show.
“This will be the only time I accept your lies, Stone.” Dr. Robotnik said.
“Pardon?”
“Elevated pulse, sweaty hands, flushed complexion, and that dopey smile, the evidence all points to one conclusion. That you, my dear barnacle, are in love with me.” This is a predicament. Stone was running through the damage control he could do despite knowing it's nearly impossible to change the doctor’s mind.
“Judging by that expression of yours, I think you've yet to realize something as well.”
Isn't that ominous?
“I'm sorry, Sir for-”
“-That! You, Stone, have received the greatest honor of having your romantic feelings reciprocated.”
.
..
Huh?
It seems he said that out loud because of the doctor's unimpressed face.
“Stone, do you believe that I would be kissing just anyone left and right? Have you heard the saying, your body is a temple? And really only one person has the right to worship it. That person being you, sycophant.”
Usually it's less that Stone is speechless moreso unable to speak for whatever reason but the doctor has seemed to defy any law the world has set forth. Stone should be taking this chance to do something but he was too shocked to be anything but gape.
Dr. Robotnik seemed to be getting restless though. Seemingly… unsure? An emotion that has never once ghosted his face before. It filled Stone with a feeling of fondness which in the moment gave Stone the will to pull the doctor down to kiss him with the force of years of yearning. Dr. Robotnik pulled him closer by wrapping his arms around Stone’s waist. It was almost hard to kiss because of the smile on their lips, but he wouldn't change a thing for it. All that ran through both their bodies was pure unbridled joy, neither a hedgehog nor emotional density could sway that.

Hydrogen-powered trucks are expected to reach life-cycle cost parity with their fossil-fuel-burning peers in China by 2027 even without the aid of subsidies, a milestone which the world’s biggest producer and consumer of the zero-emission energy source, seeks to achieve eight years ahead of Europe.
This will push forward the country’s ambition to dominate the market for hydrogen fuel cells in the transport sector as Beijing’s enabling environment starts paying off, an industry executive said.[...]
“China has developed a world-leading industry in commercial vehicle applications for hydrogen fuel cell technology, with enterprises ranging from upstream raw materials to downstream products over the past decade,” said Robin Lin, chairman and president of Refire Group, a Chinese supplier of hydrogen fuel cell technologies.[...]
China has stepped up its game this year with the central and local authorities releasing a variety of hydrogen-related policies and incentives, following the release of its first national-level guidelines for the hydrogen energy industry in 2023.
Nearly a third of its end-2023 fleet of 18,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles were sold last year alone, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, indicating the gathering pace. In a further sign of accelerating offtake, China targets to have at least 50,000 units on the road by 2025, according to its national plan.
According to Lin, China has seen significant reduction in the manufacturing cost of hydrogen fuel cell systems, which account for roughly half the cost of a hydrogen vehicle. The cost has dived from over 30,000 yuan per kilowatt in 2015 to less than 4,000 yuan per kilowatt now.[...]
“In transport, heavy-duty trucks could be the first to achieve successful commercialisation of hydrogen fuel cell technology,” he said.[...]
In China, high-purity hydrogen generated as a by-product from industrial processes, such as Shanxi province, is around 25 to 40 yuan per kilogram at local hydrogen refuelling stations, while high-purity hydrogen in other regions, such as Shanghai, is around 50 to 70 yuan per kilogram at local hydrogen refuelling stations, according to Refire.

Some more tsams/eaps headcanons because I’m bored in class
To expand on the AI chip thing mentioned previously: Ai chips come with a base, company-appointed personality and traits. Most Suns start off loud and naïve. Most Moons start off too curious for their own good. Suns fidget with their rays. Moons prefer auditory stimulation. Etc. It’s only when that base personality/programming is subject to an environment that teaches the base personality something—Our Sun learned to put up with things he didn’t like for a time, Old Moon learned that force kept Sun in the little box he needed Sun to be in to feel in control—that new information is stored into the chip. Eclipses do not have a set personality and are generally a hodgepodge of both depending on how they came to be. (For example, Eclipse and Solar have just enough Moon base personality in them to set them apart from Sun, but both are mostly Sun base programming. Ruin is a careful mix of both Sun and Moon programming because they were able to manually edit that, which resulted in a personality reset when they fully merged. (Lunar is a special case, Eclipse shoved most of his remaining Sun base personality off to Lunar, but because Eclipse is a mix of both, that code was inseparable from some Moon base personality.) When a personality has developed enough, removing certain parts of the base personality can affect the function of that part of the developed personality, for example, if Lunar were to delete some of his Sun base programming, he would find that experiencing things that stem from that programming disorienting, because the foundation that allowed the proper response to that stimuli is gone. In small bits, it’s possible to remove base traits like preferences, or entire personality traits so long as it’s done early in that AI’s development. There are workarounds to this. Dark Sun knows a lot of those workarounds, but that doesn’t mean he uses them often.
On material objects, Star power can act like radium with a shorter halflife. The same goes for negative star power. Visiting dimensions with high levels of either can result in contamination, such as Ruin’s dimension in the time it was accessible or Dark Sun’s pocket dimension without proper protections. Contamination is a residue of the power that fades over time if it is not removed. If certain components are contaminated, like processors or joints, their performance can be affected. [Note I’m not the most familiar with TSAMS’ established magic rules or most things about star power, I just have a general idea of it and this makes the most sense to me.] Also note I said material objects, this does not extend to software, where it acts differently.
It is possible to detect levels of Star power in dimensions with technology coveted by Dark Sun, Nexus, and Ruin, all for different reasons. By analyzing spikes or sudden drops in levels of a dimension, it’s possible to guesstimate where a dimension hopper with high levels of either power ended up. If Nexus were to drop into another dimension, Dark sun could figure out which one based on recent trends in Star power levels across the dimensions in his scope, in Nexus’ case the levels would drop because the negative Star power isn’t 100% negated by the present positive Star power. The closer the levels of Star power are to each other, the more stable the trends are, because they tend to cancel each other out. Think of a seismograph and detecting earthquakes, with the constant levels being the equal amounts of negative and positive power. The balance of these energies fluctuate in natural cycles. The Astrals are part of these cycles.
Take anything I say about the magic thing with a massive grain of salt, the most I know is the concept of magic pools and general applications of magic per individual users, and there might’ve been something involving golden Freddy idk. I like to imagine magic as metaphorical hula hoops. Everyone’s hula hoop is a little bit different in color, size, features etc, but the user must know how to use the hula hoop to be able to use their magic. Learning different ways to use the hula hoops is the equivalent of expanding what the user’s magic is capable of (Transmutation, teleportation, and summoning things are all different capabilities that can be learned, for example. Some are considered more complex than others.) in my head ruin’s hula hoop lights up with activity lol. Sun’s hula hoop makes groan tube noises. Being able to do different things/multitasking while using the metaphorical hula hoop is something that can be learned by users with more experience. Ruin is one of these users. Hi folks, Miyazaki here bringing you an update for Mythaura's development for the month of October! We've got some species change mechanics, super cute expressions for Hippogriffs, a rich new color for your beast creations, the Ko-fi results for the Fall Quarter Ko-fi Rewards, and some astrology.
Additionally: Koa, Sark, and I have been very busy the past month scoping out the remainder of the work that needs to be done in order to support Mythaura's initial launch. We're building in plenty of buffer to account for any unforeseen work that will need doing as well as any issues that may crop up.
We're really buckling down to get Mythaura to a point where we can bring in our Beta testers and get this game into a playable state. We've come a long way in our development journey and are so thankful to have had you all along for the ride.

Changing Species: Soulshift Coins

One of our biggest goals with Mythaura is to grant users the ability to customize their Beasts to be exactly what you want them to be. To that end, we've created our species-changing items: Soulshift Coins.

Functionality
There will be one coin for each species; Tier 1 Beasts (Griffins, Unicorns, Dragons) will have bronze coins, Tier 2 Beasts (Quetzals, Kirins, and Hippogriffs) will have silver coins, and Tier 3 Beasts (Ryus, Perytons, and Basilisks) will have gold coins. We are also planning to have a Jade Soulshift Coin, which would randomize the species of the Beast that it is used on.
These single-use items will change a Beast's species, so long as they are not in a Wild Area or in battle. They can be used on both young and adult Beasts. They can also be used on expecting Beasts, but will not impact the species of the unborn offspring.
Immediately upon use, the Beast will have their secondary Element changed to match the new species (if applicable). All Skill Tree points are reset and all equipped glamours and apparel not supported by the new species will automatically be uneqipped and sent back to the player's inventory.

Acquisition
All Soulshift Coins will be obtainable with in-game currency. Access to the different tiers will be tied to the New Game cycle that the player is in:
Players in the base New Game will be able to purchase Soulshift Coins for the Tier 1 species
Players in New Game+ will be able to purchase Soulshift Coins for Tier 1 and Tier 2 species
Players in New Game+2 and beyond will be able to purchase Soulshift Coins for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 species
Tier 2 and Tier 3 Soulshift Coins will also be available through other gameplay means, like Seasonal rewards and the Weekend Traveler's inventory. Soulshift Coins that show up in the Weekend Traveler's inventory may end up being purchased with premium currency. We're still figuring out the details there, but rest assured that there will be multiple ways for players to acquire these species-changing items!

This call for applications aims to extend small grants to 72 eligible and successful WLOs B YLOS across the BAY (Borne Adamawa and Yobo) states to support them to articulate and deliver capacity-building actions at community level prevention and response to GBViE, initiatives in SRHIE.

My name is Dennis Charles, and for as long as I can remember, my mission has been to help others. I’ve dedicated my life to creating programs, processes, and initiatives that support people in need. Whether it was organizing donations, developing community resources, or simply lending a hand, I have always believed in the power of giving.
I never imagined I would be the one in need.
Being new to social media and unfamiliar with grant applications, I was excited when I learned that the SBA was offering grants. It felt like a breakthrough—an opportunity to expand my efforts and make a real difference. I was contacted by people who seemed legitimate, their emails and credentials appearing authentic. I truly believed this was my chance to do more good.
But I was wrong. It was all a scam.
In an instant, everything I had worked for was gone—my plans, my dreams, my ability to provide for others. I lost everything. I never thought this could happen, and now I find myself in a position I never expected—asking for help.
I am reaching out to you today with a humble request: please help me recover from this devastating loss so I can continue my mission of helping others. Zelda: "A question on affinities? This will get a little into the matter of theology. I believe there are equivalents to this discussion in Holan, something they call a zodiac? Though that system has more to do with personality, and affinities have more to do with divine and magical affiliations. One is, respectfully, more identifiable.
"Affinities are an observation of a person's relationship to the value's of the Triforce: Power, Wisdom, and Courage, as well as the Goddesses associated with them. Most people will develop their affinity during their apprenticeship years, their late teens, though people have changed affinities in their lifetime as their paths have changed.
"For most, divine affinities have little impact on their daily life. It may influence which Goddess an individual chooses to focus their worship, but there are no cultural exclusions for affinities. Unlike my understanding of the Holanii zodiac, affinities of this nature are created by an individual, a reflection of their path in life or what they most aspire to achieve. Fame, knowledge, accomplishment, any number of goals that drive people."
Marela: "There is another divine affinity though, isn't there?"
Zelda: "There are two. There is an affinity to the Horned Goddess, the divine that the Dreeka worship, following Her epithet as the Goddess of Secrets. Ironically, She earned the title for uncovering secrets, not creating them. As such, this affinity is most often correlated with truth as an ideal, and the pursuit of justice. But I believe you're referring to the affinity of Hylia, Marela, corresponded with Hope."
Marela: "It would be suiting for the Goddess of Hyrule and the one intertwined with the cycle to have the affinity of Hope, wouldn't it? I know I've always had a strong affinity for Nayru. What affinity do you have?"
Zelda: "This has been difficult to say. I believe I have split affinities with Nayru and Hylia, but I've never been able to determine this as I have been able to for other people. It is the most practical conclusion though, considering my heritage and my pursuit for knowledge."
Marela: "The stories say that the Princesses have also struggled to identify any sort of affinity with the Goddesses due to the warped nature of Demise's curse, and how it intertwined their souls with Hylia when She was bound to the cycle."
Zelda: "Yes, and it brings me great comfort to know that I have had family who has gone through this struggle as well. (M: "...Zelda.") It would be a perversion of Wisdom for the Princesses to be denied access to the divine knowledge Hylia gave our family and fitting for a curse."
Marela: "Mmhmm. What about the material affinities?"
Zelda: "Right, the material affinities. These have more practical affects on life, as they reflect in how individuals will most easily access magic. They are generally categorized by either element, fire, water, spirit, so on, or application, enchantment, healing, evocation, and so on as well. But the effects of material affinities aren't exclusively magically. They can manifest in people who have no experience with magic. Take Mr. Sayre for example."
Link: "Is this demonstration going to be safer, princess?"
Zelda: "Hush. Mr. Sayre has a strong affinity to Hylia and Farore, but he also possesses a strong connection to Forest as an element. While he does not have any serious magic capabilities, he does have a natural skill with animals."

Zelda: "Yes? What did you think it was?"
Link: "I don't know, I thought it was growing up out in Orda. Working with animals."

Also fun side note, I'm sure you've noticed the "bird" equivalency here. However, the skies are already pretty packed by the lighter-than-air organisms, so these took a different evolutionary path. Rather than being ground-based organisms that developed flight (like our theropods on Earth), these organisms evolved from high-altitude tree-hopping and gliding organisms.
As such, they have evolved to be as aerodynamically efficient as possible as to avoid competition and extinction with the current fast-moving air dwellers. As such, most of the body is made for simply flying or gliding and most essential organs (reproductive/digestive) are located in the front of the body or the head.
(Also because my BA major is Aeronautical Science i can actually use my aerodynamics classes for actual application lol im forced to learn this info anyway might as well use it for spec evo lmao)
