Barbara's growth in Winter Snow (4.07) is astounding. Usually we see her in the role as a staunch traditionalist (think Librarian, Costume Contest, though definitely other examples too), but this time she's willing to put aside the centuries-long tradition of a Christmas themed school play to make sure all students feel included. And she doesn't even blink an eye when threatened by the prospect of a PTA backlash. I don't think season one Barbara would've done the same - not because she doesn't care for her students, but for tear of retribution. God I love the parallels and visible growth in this show, and I loved seeing Barbara be the one to drive change.

bran used to think he was gonna grow up and be a pro football player (football is the modern knighthood in my AU apparently) but jamie the football coach/health teacher pushed him off the bleachers and broke his legs (rip)

rickon just got diagnosed with ADHD and claims shaggydog is his emotional support animal so he's the super popular kid in elementary school with a giant wolf dog at recess. all the staff hate him except his teaching aid osha

hp reread books 3:

1. i haven't read it since seventh grade tbc it's not an annual reread or something

2. the buckbeak scene is so funny now that i'm an adult because they're so defensive of hagrid but he did objectively get a kid injured during his first lesson even if that kid was being stupid + hated hagrid

3. i mean it was lowkey so reasonable to not want hagrid to work at a school. i always thought that but now i think i was fs right and not just biased by thinking it's fun when people are rich and mean. he admits to playing it up to get hagrid fired but he was still injured in a way hagrid was very aware could easily happen

4. george and angelina are i think by far the most conceptually interesting couple in the series btw. that's not something i'm getting from the reread it's a regular opinion

 so the drawing of Djali and Tizzy was the first one I drew, it was going to be a comic where kid asks if they’re a good parent and questioning, if they’re doing the right thing by raising their kids. I’m still writing something for that because they will never have enough trauma.

Naira appreciates, exchanges for 793.70/$

The naira appreciated against the United States dollar on the Investor & Exporter forex window on Wednesday, closing at 793.70/$. The local currency had earlier traded at N825 a week earlier on the I&E window. According to figures obtained from the FMDQ, the trading, which commenced at 778.07/$ on Wednesday reached a high of 853/$ before closing at 793.70/$. The trading also recorded a turnover of $87.19m as of the end of trading. Some Bureau de Change operators who spoke to our correspondent said the dollar was bought and sold at N820 and N825 at the parallel market. The Central Bank of Nigeria, in recent weeks, directed Deposit Money Banks to remove the rate cap on the naira at the I&E window to allow for a free float of the national currency against the dollar and other global currencies. By collapsing all segments in the FX market into the I&E window, it said this meant all eligible FX transactions in the market would only be done via the I&E window, as all other windows ceased to exist. “The I&E market functions by a willing buyer, willing seller system, where an entity with demand for FX seeks out another entity with FX to sell at an agreed price through an authorised dealer,” the CBN stated.
