Jikook Week 68 Complete (25/03 -01/04/2025)

Jikook have finalized their 68th week and it's time to look back at this week in 2019.

These were good times for BTS and they were feeling grateful. On 26/03, JK posted on Weibo, "Because of all our blessings we are living a very happy life". Jimin posted on Twitter on 01/04 with the words "I really want to see you"

On the 28/03/2029, Entertainment Weekly published The Greatest Showmen article. It's an odd article, all over the place it doesn't really hit its stride but to be fair it must be strange to be transported right into the middle of the intimate but chaotic BTS member dynamic. Like landing on an alien planet and not being able to read the cues.

Though they're unfailingly polite and attentive in interviews, there's a certain amount of contained chaos when they're all together—a sort of tumbling-puppy cyclone of playful shoves, back slaps, and complicated handshakes—but also a surprising, endearing sweetness to the way they treat one another in quieter moments.

"We've been living together for a while now, almost eight, nine years," says Jimin. "So in the beginning we had a lot of arguments and conflicts. But we've reached the point where we can communicate wordlessly, basically just by watching each other and reading the expressions."

We at the team have taken a certain risk when it comes to experimenting and creating something that would engage audiences alike. We like to stay somewhere in the middle of PG or PG-13 rated games. It's always best to avoid making games that are too offensive or gruesome to the player's eye, especially when it comes to our humor. unlike when we made a mistake making "Rocky's Bad Wool Day."

When it comes to good games, we always do a little playtest to be sure that it's playable. When we think it's ready, we go to the next step when it comes to making a story. We like to surprise players with what we come up with, and when it comes to horror games, we like to sprinkle little hints of "LORE" into the mix, as a little secret story hidden in the backgrounds.

We made many partnerships with a few small businesses to help promote some of the projects we are currently working on. And with some of the cash we received with the acceptance of merch, most of it will go to charity, while the rest goes straight into the works of other stuff, so we can do more big and fun things in the future.

As we continue to evolve and remain as an independent family business, we look forward to making something special that'll help to inspire others.

What happened to the original founders?

After finishing their last game, “The Amazing Digital Circus”, they tragically passed away due to an unknown disease. We were all really heartbroken knowing that the founders had gone away too soon. We would’ve shut down and disbanded the team, but luckily for us, the head founder of “Exit Dream Legacy” asked to write a written statement as a final request before they go. And this is what she has to say:

“While our demise was sudden and unexpected, we enjoyed being the developers of The Amazing Digital Circus along with the other games we created. Randle was our biggest inspiration for the games we’ve created and we wouldn’t want our legacy to end on a tragic note. This is why we’re passing this company down to him. It’s truly sad to see them go. The head founder was truly like a mother figure we all wish we had. She’d listen whenever we were going through hard times, she helped when someone was in need, and she knew what to say when we all struggled. She’s truly someone we should all aspire to be. Who’s the new owner?

Randle Jones, the founder of the company, also requested the team to guide her son and show him how things work. It was a struggle at first after the passing, but he’s starting to manage a little.

I hope this doesn't come off as rude but I can't wait for you to finish your webcomics because I want to see what other reed900 creations (fics or otherwise) you will make due to being able to dedicate your time to other projects.

Considering that I'll likely be working on the A&E and Liberosis (sequel) WebComics until the year 2028... I'd be surprised if you were even in the Detroit: Become Human fandom anymore by that time, lol.

I still have to finish up A&E -- having 3 chapters left -- and 17 chapters took me 3 years. I suspect Liberosis might take me 2 years at most. That said, it might be even longer than that. I'm starting my 1st job by either the end of the year or the start of the next one meaning I won't have a lot of time anymore. So we're already talking 2029 before I move onto something different. Even then, my next projects will just be the animated series adaption of those two WebComics.

It's easy to say "I'll always be a Reed900 fan," but truth is, most ppls' interest wavers each year. I'm confident that's never gonna happen to me as I've loved at least one ship for over a decade -- I was (still am) a huge fan of the Mass Effect ship m!Shenko of which I was likely introduced to in 2012 -- and my love for m!Shenko doesn't even come close to my love for Reed900. So that says a lot. The same can't be said for everyone, though. Ppl get bored. They want something different whether it be a fandom, ship, etc. Especially if they're just a viewer and not a creator.

I hope everyone just takes this as fun. I do not mean any disrespect in making assumptions. Please take it as entertainment.

It is unknown whether his birthtime is AM or PM so I have second post using AM. And you guys can go with the one that sounds most like him.

This is using a Vedic chart. Thus, the planets will be in different signs than a tropical chart.

Personality:

He is an excellent communicator. He can be great at business. He is social and clever. He wont' attempt to become the center of attention and risk coming off arrogant or obnoxious. He observes a conversation and knows when to speak + what to say to charm people.

He can have learned this from his father - consciously or subconsciously. His father can be one of his best friends. There is true respect and camaraderie between the them.

His personality may gravitate toward deeper and possibly taboo topics. He wants to go beyond the surface with people and things that interest him. The intensity of his emotions can be too much for him, thus at a young age he learned to detach. He may tend to repress his emotional responses and focus on using logic. He can find it difficult to cry and be vulnerable in other ways. Yet, sometimes he can't help him, he'll fall apart because he holds it in for so long - sometimes he may refuse to process huge painful moments for years. Basically, in this PM chart, it indicates he has a habit of hiding the depth of his emotions from even himself.

He can have a very dramatic transformation - possibly triggered by an event regarding his mother.

In both PM and AM charts he has indicators for marrying someone from a different background. However in AM we had indicators for him eventually moving abroad after marriage. In this chart, the PM chart, we don't see indicators that he will move abroad.

He is likely to meet her far from his birth place - possibly abroad. Unlike the AM chart tho, this isn't a work related trip/event. This is something fun an enjoyable. I know that publishers buy books years in advance. But someone was saying that now they're acquiring like 4-6 years in advance?? I was like, that's nuts! Trends shift-- so what if these books are out of trend by the time they publish? Like is this even right??

Yes and no?

I would NOT say that as a matter of course, most publishers are buying most books 4-6 years in advance of publication.

For novels, generally speaking, most publishers intend to publish within two years of buying the book. If I sold a novel today (July 2025), and it's going to be the author's first book / next book, the first draft is already written and in good shape but it needs to be professionally edited and copyedited, I'd expect that it would be probably scheduled for publication in Spring 2027 or so. It COULD be Fall 2026, but that would be really pushing it -- ideally, all edits would be done 10-12 months before publication, so a book publishing in Fall 2026 would be due Fall 2025, and Fall 2025 is in like, a few weeks? So that's probably not happening. It COULD be longer than 2 years, if something takes longer than it should, but we're AIMING for under 2 years.

For a book from a creator who already has a bunch of stuff in the pipeline, though, they might be scheduling a bit further out. And for an illustrated book, it would almost certainly take longer than two years. In fact, they could take much longer. (MUCH. LONGER.) I've had picture books take 5 years, 7 years -- and even longer!

I AM selling some books quite far out right now -- because that's how long it will take. For examples:

An author has a novel come out every other year, they have one coming next year, and the publisher wants to buy and schedule the next two right now -- so, given their "every other year" schedule, the next ones will be published in 2028 and 2030. (Don't worry, they aren't written yet, so the author can incorporate "new trends" -- or better yet, be the one to CREATE the new trends!)

An illustrator has to draw a complicated 500 page Graphic Novel, and they can't even start on it until next year, and it will take them two years to draw the whole thing, and it has to be done a year before publication... welp, that's us aiming for 2029. If ANYTHING takes longer than it should during that process, which it almost certainly WILL, then we're looking at 2030.

So, no, it's not true that publishers are regularly buying books 4-6 years before publication -- but it IS true that sometimes books take 4-6 years before they are published. That's nothing new, though, that has always been the case.

Ordering UberEats? Don’t forget Uber supports Trump

Uber’s CEO is publicly backing Donald Trump’s latest policy proposal, a program that would reward births with stock market-linked ‘Trump accounts’.

The initiative is part of a broader bill that also seeks to scrap federally funded gender-affirming healthcare for trans people of all ages.

Here’s what you need to know.

Uber’s history of backing Trump financially 

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi joined several other high-profile business leaders at the White House last week to support Donald Trump’s new program, which is just one part of the so-called “Obe Big Beautiful Bill” — a sweeping policy package now being debated in the U.S. Senate.

The Trump account would see an investment fund set up for every child born between 2025 and January 2029, which companies like Uber, Dell and Goldman Sachs pledged to match for their employees’ children.

But, this isn’t Uber’s first show of support for Trump’s new term.

In December 2024, The Wall Street Journal revealed that both Uber and its CEO each donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund, a record-breaking political contribution for Khosrowshahi.

While Uber also donated to President Biden’s inauguration in 2021, Khosrowshahi reportedly did not.

What else is in the bill?

The same bill that would see Trump accounts set up for babies also includes a federal ban on gender-affirming care for trans people of all ages.

In one of the most extreme federal policy moves to date, the bill would:

Strip gender-affirming care from Medicaid and federally subsidised insurance plans

Remove it from the Affordable Care Act’s list of “essential health benefits”

Ban coverage for both minors and adults

The bill passed the U.S. House by a single vote and is now being debated in the Senate. 

If passed, this legislation would cut off healthcare access for thousands of trans people, particularly those on low incomes.

According to UCLA’s Williams Institute, nearly 180,000 transgender adults in the U.S. rely on Medicaid.

If the bill becomes law, their access to vital care could vanish regardless of what state they live in.

Uber once marketed itself as LGBTQIA+ friendly 

It’s another example of major corporations signalling support for Trump’s policies even when those policies come at the direct expense of marginalised communities, including LGBTQ+ people.

And while Uber has previously marketed itself as an LGBTQ-friendly brand, its financial and political backing of Trump’s anti-trans agenda raises very serious questions about whether that support is more than surface-level.

ANSWER: Yes, I provided the array with the link to that article that WAS PUBLISHED BACK IN 2022. Here is the view of snowfall since 1869, accumulative annually. Note that once more, this shows the BS about climate change and global warming. The record for snowfall in NYC was in 1996.

Compare this to the array that was published back in 2022. They both show a trend into 2029 and that this would shift in 2025. We should be looking at colder periods, and this raises a serious risk of famine as the planet turns colder. That is, when crops fail, food prices rise, and famine increases. Everything that the LEFT has done with respect to the fake climate change has set us up for an environmental disaster. California has outlawed controlled fires, which Australia has done for a long time, so if a strip is burned out, then a raging fire has no fuel, and it stops. Whatever these people have done is precisely the opposite of what experience and history prove is true.

NASA has selected multiple companies to expand the agency’s Near Space Network’s commercial direct-to-Earth capabilities services, which is a mission-critical communication capability that allows spacecraft to transmit data directly to ground stations on Earth.

The work will be awarded under new Near Space Network services contracts that are firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts. Project timelines span from February 2025 to September 2029, with an additional five-year option period that could extend a contract through Sept. 30, 2034. The cumulative maximum value of all Near Space Network Services contracts is $4.82 billion.

Some companies received multiple task orders for subcategories identified in their contracts. Awards are as follows:

Intuitive Machines of Houston will receive two task order awards on its contract for Subcategory 1.2 GEO to Cislunar Direct to Earth (DTE) Services and Subcategory 1.3 xCislunar DTE Services to support NASA’s Lunar Exploration Ground Segment, providing additional capacity to alleviate demand on the Deep Space Network and to meet the mission requirements for unique, highly elliptical orbits. The company also previously received a task order award for Subcategory 2.2 GEO to Cislunar Relay Services.

Kongsberg Satellite Services of Tromsø, Norway, will receive two task order awards on its contract for Subcategory 1.1 Earth Proximity DTE and Subcategory 1.2 to support science missions in low Earth orbit and NASA’s Lunar Exploration Ground Segment, providing additional capacity to alleviate demand on the Deep Space Network.

SSC Space U.S. Inc. of Horsham, Pennsylvania, will receive two task order awards on its contract for Subcategories 1.1 and 1.3 to support science missions in low Earth orbit and to meet the mission requirements for unique, highly elliptical orbits.

Viasat, Inc. of Duluth, Georgia, will be awarded a task order on its contract for Subcategory 1.1 to support science missions in low Earth orbit.

The Near Space Network’s direct-to-Earth capability supports many of NASA’s missions ranging from climate studies on Earth to research on celestial objects. It also will play a role in NASA’s Artemis campaign, which calls for long-term exploration of the Moon.

NASA’s goal is to provide users with communication and navigation services that are secure, reliable, and affordable, so that all NASA users receive the services required by their mission within their latency, accuracy, and availability requirements.

These awards demonstrate NASA’s ongoing commitment to fostering strong partnerships with the commercial space sector, which plays an essential role in delivering the communications infrastructure critical to the agency’s science and exploration missions.

As part of the agency’s SCaN (Space Communications and Navigation) Program, teams at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, will carry out the work of the Near Space Network. The Near Space Network provides missions out to 1.2 million miles (2 million kilometers) with communications and navigation services, enabling spacecraft to exchange critical data with mission operators on Earth. Using space relays in geosynchronous orbit and a global system of government and commercial direct-to-Earth antennas on Earth, the network brings down terabytes of data each day.

Juice rerouted to Venus in world’s first lunar-Earth flyby

ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (Juice) has successfully completed a world-first lunar-Earth flyby, using the gravity of Earth to send it Venus-bound, on a shortcut to Jupiter through the inner Solar System.

The closest approach to the Moon was at 23:15 CEST (21:15 UTC) on 19 August, guiding Juice towards a closest approach to Earth just over 24 hours later at 23:56 CEST (21:56 UTC) on 20 August.

As Juice flew just 6840 km above Southeast Asia and the Pacific Ocean, it snapped a series of images with its onboard monitoring cameras, and collected scientific data with eight of its ten instruments.

“The gravity assist flyby was flawless, everything went without a hitch, and we were thrilled to see Juice coming back so close to Earth,” says Ignacio Tanco, Spacecraft Operations Manager for the mission.

The purpose of the flyby was to reroute Juice’s path through space, using the gravity of first the Moon and then Earth to change the spacecraft’s speed and direction.

The flyby of the Moon increased Juice’s speed by 0.9 km/s relative to the Sun, guiding Juice towards Earth. The flyby of Earth reduced Juice’s speed by 4.8 km/s relative to the Sun, guiding Juice onto a new trajectory towards Venus. Overall, the lunar-Earth flyby deflected Juice by an angle of 100° compared to its pre-flyby path.

The inherently risky flyby required ultra-precise, real-time navigation, but is saving the mission around 100–150 kg of fuel. In the month before the flyby, spacecraft operators gave Juice slight nudges to put it on exactly the right approach trajectory. Then they tracked Juice 24/7 between 17–22 August.

Thanks to a flawless Ariane 5 launch back in April 2023, Juice has a little extra propellant in its tanks to get closer to Jupiter’s moon Ganymede than originally planned. The success of the lunar-Earth flyby has safeguarded this bonus science.

“Thanks to very precise navigation by ESA’s Flight Dynamics team, we managed to use only a tiny fraction of the propellant reserved for this flyby. This will add to the margins we keep for a rainy day, or to extend the science mission once we get to Jupiter,” adds Ignacio.

A first taste of science in space

Whilst the main goal was to alter Juice’s trajectory, the lunar-Earth flyby also provided an opportunity to test out Juice’s scientific instruments in space, with all ten switched on during the Moon flyby, and eight switched on during the Earth flyby.

We expect to publish images and spectra collected by some of Juice’s instruments in the next weeks, as they are downlinked from the spacecraft and evaluated by the instrument scientists. This includes high-resolution images on the Moon and Earth from Juice’s scientific camera, JANUS.

“The timing and location of this double flyby allows us to thoroughly study the behaviour of Juice’s instruments,” explains Claire Vallat, Juice Operations Scientist.

“It happens early enough in Juice’s journey that we can use the data to prepare the instruments for arrival at Jupiter. And given how well we know the physical properties of Earth, the Moon, and the surrounding space environment, it’s also the ideal location to understand how the instruments respond to a real target.”

Next step: Venus

This lunar-Earth flyby actually reduced Juice’s energy, redirecting it towards a meeting with Venus in August 2025. That Venus flyby will boost Juice back out towards Earth; the spacecraft will fly by our home planet again in September 2026 and January 2029, gaining two more boosts before arrival at Jupiter in July 2031.
