PUPPET WARP

To use the puppet warp tool, I took an image of an elephant as I found that moving the trunk would be a good demonstration. To begin with, I quick selected the elephant and made sure my selection was as accurate as possible. I then used select and mask to place the elephant into another background as not to warp the background as well as the subject. While on the elephant layer, i then went onto Edit and Puppet Warp which then selects the subject automatically. I then changed the expansion to 20 to create more space around the elephant and then began moving the trunk. Once I successfully moved the trunk to where I wanted, I then clicked enter to complete the action.

I choose an elephant as I wanted to try move it’s trunk

Fist create a copy layer

Select area you want to move

Edit- puppet warp when area is selected

click to pin parts that you want to move. Try use area that naturally bend so it doesn’t look weird.

Deselect once you have moved the part you are wanting to move

Use clone stamp tool to get rid of excess trunk to get finished mage

OPEN IMAGE AND MAKE A SELECTION 

FILE - NEW 

DRAG SELECTION ON TO NEW CANVAS

SELECT PUPPET WARP 

THEN MAKE PINS TO HOLD DOWN POINTS OF THE IMAGE 

SHIFT AND DRAG THE PINS TO MOVE THE IMAGE 

DOUBLE CLICK TO SET 

SAVE AS JPEG

Puppet warp including using content aware to allow extraction of dog in background image so that puppet warping is only image of dog seen.

Found this tool quite hard to use, but think i will have fun playing around with it in future for manipulation of imagery when required.

Initially I had problems with the background dog remaining in the image and the puppet warp being a translucent image over the top as a mask. Following wider research, ended up referring to two you tube videos to assist me.

Puppet Warp.

I found this quite hard to get started but once i got to using the actual tool i was having a ton of fun making her move in a really weird way.  This was the image i used.

This is what my challenge box looked like while doing this project.

I used to the quick selection tool to select my subject from the image. I then selected the Puppet Warp tool from the edit menu and then you get these little pins that you have to click into place to make the things move thats what al the little circles are on the image bellow. Once you've got your pins in place then you can start moving the part about you have do anything make the leg longer point the top a lot of stuff.

The image below is what i made. She looks super weird and its obviously not done very well but it was my first time messing around with it. I made her let a little longer and flattened her foot and moved her head but that was pretty much it. It was really cool to learn how to do this as it will be super useful at some point I'm sure.
