I think - in some hypothetical, other Batman story where Harvey is the primary Big Bad - the unveiling of Bruce being Batman would be what defeats him. No takedown, no dying, no getting beat down. Just the concept of his best friend also being his worst enemy would fuck with his sense of duality. It would bring him to a psychological lock.

But obviously he has already put the pieces together beforehand, even before he became Two-Face, through several means.

And then they kiss or something, IDK.

i will never get over the imagery of clea's axon directly mirroring atlas in greek mythology. the hauler and the bearer of the heavens, both monikers being near identical in meaning. how atlas has become synonymous with strength and resilience for carrying out his punishment for all of eternity. and that's exactly what clea does too, isn't it? she endures, not because she wants to, but because she has to. condemned to a role she never chose, she shoulders this burden alone, the weight of the world on her back. i think this makes her endless tower dialogue all the more compelling. she wants alicia to have a life free from their parents’ expectations. she wants her to live on her own terms, instead of letting others dictate what she should do. the hypocrisy is glaring, given clea has never once done that. she has always wanted to do right by the dessendre name, to be the perfect eldest daughter to such a respectable family. anything to impress aline and renoir, to make them proud. this misplaced belief that their love is conditional, that she has to earn it or worse yet, to cull parts of herself for their benefit. it’s too late for her to alter this trajectory, she's in too deep, her path is set in stone. but alicia can still choose differently, she can be selfish and choose herself, just like clea wishes she could have done.

Aa4 is special in so many ways but what really stuck to me was that it's mainly a game about young adults navigating their respective careers and i specifically adore that

carlos' eyes in the meeting room........ carlos' eyes at the hospital..... at the IC room..... his guts are boiling with hot rage!!! this very stubborn hope. it's in the clench of his jaw since the funeral. the lump in his throat that he swallows back every time because that's how the gut-wrenching vestige of murder that hasn't received its justice yet feels like."i see it now. the eyes.." because that's the glimpse of the resolute unswerving gabriel in him that echos 'if there are tears to weep we do it when the time comes, not before'. you grief but you don't get defeated when there is still work to do in order to rest in that grief. and GODDD carlos is so righteously resolved about getting there. i want him so so bad to solve the case. finally bring that retribution and avenge his family and himself. he's been in the waxing and waning throes for too long he only deserves the purgation and finality of it more than anything!!!!!

because no way all of this relentless endeavour and sharp stubborn wit would culminate to anything but cracking it. even storytelling wise that would be disheartening not to bring it to its desired ends. because imagine. all this time carlos was so right about the rangers from the start. then he looped in. was kept so close under their wing. and then he now realises that he wasn't really truly '''stuck''' but he was trapped and misled instead and it's all tumbling down now over their heads and he's seeing through the cracks. finally the darkness makes sense and he can move in action through the pinnacle and into the resolution!!!
