HIII! I just wanted to say I loved your youtube video and the fact you are keeping the spirit of wreck it ralph alive. You really have inspired me to maybe starting my own where I can just talk about what I am interested in. I always danced around the idea but you doing it made me realize it isn't just some silly idea but a possibility for me. So I was curious if you had any tips on how to start or what programs you use to make your videos?
THATS SO COOL!!! You should totally make your own videos!! :) it is very much a possibility ❤️
- For video editing I use Davinci Resolve (100% free and easy to use, plenty of tutorials online)
- For photo editing/drawing I use Krita (also Free!)
- For audio recording I use Tenacity (Audacity but better. Also FREE!!!!)
- if you’re considering subtitling I use SubtitleEdit (GUESS WHAT ITS FREE)
- Any mic will work if you’re starting out but I have a HyperX Quadcast 5 USB microphone and I also recommend Any Headphones
And side note, stay away from anything Adobe. It’s always been a scummy overpriced company but now they’re doing AI garbage so just stick with freeware ❤️
I made another post abt this if you’re interested in doing PNGtuber stuff specifically, but I wish you luck :) I’m so happy you enjoyed my video and it had that affect on you. I’d be happy to answer any other questions!

Hey voice acting side of Tumblr, I need some advice
Recently I've been picking it up as a hobby and got selected for a few auditions. Some I plan on auditioning for require singing, and I have tried to record my singing, but my high notes aren't being picked up
I use OBS to record, and have messed around with most of the filters I use. I tried adjusting my gain, my open threshold, my everything, really. I've tried leaning closer to the mic, I've tried leaning farther from the mic. It's a HyperX Quadcast
If y'all have any advice, I'd be so thankful if you could share it

We went down the jolly and whimsical good path the first time, now let's do the fucked up and twisted evil path.

First up is Black Agumon X, a badass little dino- I mean look at that closeup, they just look stellar, huh?

And look at her sleeping! I'm surprised a lot more digimon don't just sleep on their backs like this, but I guess that just makes it even more of a sight to see when a Digimon gets a "special" sleep animation, like LadyDevimon X in the last run.
Sad I forgot to take a picture before work, but I got a HyperX Quadcast mic on clearance to replace my possibly 6+-year-old Blu Snowball mic, and the colors of the mic and this XC match *perfectly*- I'll have to take a picture when I get home with whoever Ruby evolves into.

how to improve audio for videos!
I'm making this post so others can get better vocal audio in their video projects. It is EZ!
STEP 1 - Record your audio
Whether it's from a live stream or prerecorded, just create the audio. I suggest using a Hyperx Quadcast or anything that can capture 16-bit or higher. I suggest the Hyperx Quadcast because of its simplicity. The mic is USB, so it just plugs right into your computer and it's ready to go. This is way easier than getting a mic with an XLR which requires an audio interface that can double the cables and price for almost the same result!
You must have a pop filter! Without one, your audio can suffer from plosives- sounds like P (puh) and B (buh) carry a lot of bass frequencies and will mess with the volume/peaks of the recording. Some microphones don't need this, like an iPhone or a laptop microphone. Either way, I highly suggest a pop filter!
When you record, make sure the mic's gain control is low. Having high gain on your mic can lead to your audio sounding like this (yes that is exactly what it sounds like). High gain can lead to clipping and just terrible results.
After that, just find a program to record your audio. I use FL Studio. You can use any DAW or audio recording program (I think Audacity can record too!).
STEP 2 - Editing the audio
Some pretty simple steps here, just trust the process. I suggest any DAW, but I'll be using Audacity.
In Audacity, go to the top and find "effects" and place these effects in this order
Compressor
Threshold: -13.0
Ratio: 10.0:1
Attack: 0
Release: 1
Gain: 13.0db (optional if you have a different compressor)
2. Filter Curve EQ
just select the low roll off for speech preset lol
(Manage > Factory Preset > Low Rolloff for Speech)
3. Truncate Silence (Not for live stream audio)
Threshold: -20
Duration: 0.5
Truncate to: 0.7
OPTIONAL: Noise Reduction
If you're recording off a poor mic, chances are you'll have a loud background noise. Just use this effect to remove the room noise. Essentially a noise gate but for post-edit!
What this does -
The compressor makes all the quiet and loud parts of your audio the same volume, making any recording more intelligible. The EQ is for removing unwanted- or useless frequencies. In this case, the rolloff on the bass eq will remove any potential plosives and generally tighten up the audio. If you have a poor microphone this may require some more specific EQing (high end hiss, specific frequencies needing to be removed). The truncate silence will remove unnecessary length between each sentence and make your flow way more fluid. Do not do that for live stream audio, it will unsync your audio with the visuals.
If done correctly, this is the result!
go make videos suckars

I think I need to make myself a microphone?
Alastor has made it so I absolutely have to have a microphone on me at all times. Without one it feels like I'm naked. I've been carrying around this HyperX QuadCast microphone, but my dad keeps yelling at me because he thinks I'm going to drop it and break it or something (and he wouldn't even let me take it to the store!), and honestly it just isn't quite right.
So I think I'm going to try and make myself a version of Alastor's microphone. It doesn't really need to work, just to *feel* right, so hopefully I can come up with something.

What's your favorite brand of microphone? Is there any specific mic you'd recommend for beginners?
Hmmmm a very interesting question.
I don't have a favorite brand, the microphone brand I've owned the most, is probably Rode. The 4th gen rode NT1 was my all-purpose studio mic. I love that mic and would buy it again since it is broken. If that's what you intend to do, like ASMR, Vocal, or instrument recording. That's most people go to. The rode NTG3 is a great shotgun mic that I owned and had absolutely no use for lol.
(Side rant)
Both are very pretty flat mics which in the world of microphones, are described as sounding "natural" and "boring". Which I do agree, that's why I want to spend 1000$ on audio equipment. I.e the Sennheiser Mkh 416 for shotgun and the Neumann TLM 103 for studio. You really get the best of both words the natural sound of a flat mic and present upfront vocals.
(Side rant for this side rant)
All of these microphones I've mentioned so far are condenser mics. Which are known to be a lot more sensitive and require a lot less gain than dynamic-type microphones. A lot of people consider condenser microphones to only be good in studio environments ie recording booths, because you'll get a lot of background noise. I get the stigma but in all honestly, for all of my purposes, the benefits of clarity far outweigh the issues a dynamic mic presents. Dynamic mics have an audible hiss without a crazy good and expensive preamp in your audio interface. The Apollo twin was the only one I remember being able to do the job but now they do have a solo version, but it's still 500$.
So I suppose that's what it goes back to, what you'll be using the microphone for.
For everything, podcast, asmr, nature sounds any audio you want to record professionally. Here's what I'd recommend.
A proper audio interface like the motu m2 (200$) and the 4th gen rode nt1 (269$) it is a bit of an investment but you'd have, in my opinion, the best possible setup for that price.
For chatting on discord with your boyfriend, here's what I recommend.
Honestly, you don't need XLR or anything crazy like that. So I'd skip the audio interface and just go with USB. In my personal experience, discord didn't work well with my audio interface anyway. The blue snowball ice is a nice budget option, but if you're worried about background noise or it being too loud. I'd get something with adjustable gain. Like the HyperX QuadCast or Blue Yeti. But honestly, all of this may be overkill lol considering I just use my USB Webcam's mic for Discord calls. I've never heard any complaints.
Hope you found this helpful
