VERA; Daughter of Vox

One of Hells most popular Influencers. Works with her Dad to promote Voxtec products on Voxtagram.

Has Techonopatic powers that she uses for her vlogs, and to stream shows with her friends.

Online; Vera is bold, confident and a tad boastful. Offline, with Virgil and Valerie, she’s fair, playful, and quieter.

VIRGIL, Son of Velvette.

Works as an enforcer for the Vees; dealing with unsatisfied customers, incompetent employees, etc.

The strong and silent type but is more talkative when around his mother and friends.

In his free time, Virgil enjoys sketching and spending time with Vera and Valerie.

VALERIE; Daughter of Valentino.

Passionate and Affectionate; Daddy’s Little Princess

Valentino spoils her with gifts but doesn’t let her out of V Tower very often, and scares off any suitors that look her way.

Only friends are Vera, Virgil, Kitty, and her litter of queeves.

HENRY HAVOC

Son of Katie Killjoy & Tom Trench

Blunt, Arrogant, & Insolent (Basically a Mini Sociopath)

Has to wear a muzzle and gloves because he both scratches and bites.

Works as a cameraman for 6 6 6 News, mostly so his parents can keep an eye on him.

Fizzarozzie's "subtle" portrait

As befitting the wording of this post, Fizzarozzie are not subtle. The portrait proves it.

They are definitely naked. Only being barely covered by the red or purple sash they're sharing.

I am BETTING they did it before, during, and after the portrait was taken.

They have their pet Queeves (?; I think that's what they're called) in the portrait. There's more than one, it's just hard to tell because of the angles of the portrait.

As seen in the bottom two angles, Ozzie has one hand holding onto one of Fizz's legs.

This hints at Ozzie being able to sizeshift given how they look to be around the same height as seen in the portrait.

Look closely at Fizz's tail - he has some sort of gagball or sex toy wrapped around it.

Hours in the mirror trying to “fix” themselves, picking at every blemish due to their ocd. They also habitually cut their nails

A bunch on their feet after diving into a pool to help their struggling to swim brother, a ton on their wrist, and a barley noticeable one on their nose from being scratched by a cat as a baby

They cry every day, they’re probably crying right now. They’re super sensitive being described by a therapist as having “an emotional third degree burn”

They’re the oldest, with a younger brother who’s still alive

They wear big black boots with blue laces. Back on earth they had heavily worn Kermit the Frog themed shoes, Doc Martins, and Lisa Frank Crocs with butterfly jibbitz

They have a standard room, square shaped with a bed in the middle of the wall, he stole a ton of bed stands from the other rooms, he has a stuffed animal of a queeve that they hold dear and never let leave the room, they have a guitar(?) case that they either let lean against the wall of stash under their bed

Halloween, they’ve always loved spooky things and dressing up

They ALWAYS wear their jacket outside the house, they keep their phone, charger, wallet, and headphones the deep pockets

So my problem with most ‘get to know your character’ questioneers is that they’re full of questions that just aren’t that important (what color eyes do they have) too hard to answer right away (what is their greatest fear) or are just impossible to answer (what is their favorite movie.)  Like no one has one single favorite movie. And even if they do the answer changes.

If I’m doing this exercise, I want 7-10 questions to get the character feeling real in my head. So I thought I’d share the ones that get me (and my students) good results: 

What is the character’s go-to drink order? (this one gets into how do they like to be publicly perceived, because there is always some level of theatricality to ordering drinks at a bar/resturant)

What is their grooming routine? (how do they treat themselves in private)

What was their most expensive purchase/where does their disposable income go? (Gets you thinking about socio-economic class, values, and how they spend their leisure time)

Do they have any scars or tattoos? (good way to get into literal backstory) 

What was the last time they cried, and under what circumstances? (Good way to get some *emotional* backstory in.) 

Are they an oldest, middle, youngest or only child? (This one might be a me thing, because I LOVE writing/reading about family dynamics, but knowing what kinds of things were ‘normal’ for them growing up is important.)

Describe the shoes they’re wearing. (This is a big catch all, gets into money, taste, practicality, level of wear, level of repair, literally what kind of shoes they require to live their life.)

Describe the place where they sleep. (ie what does their safe space look like. How much (or how little) care / decoration / personal touch goes into it.)

What is their favorite holiday? (How do they relate to their culture/outside world. Also fun is least favorite holiday.) 

What objects do they always carry around with them? (What do they need for their normal, day-to-day routine? What does ‘normal’ even look like for them.)

Pretty well! They're a bit more cautious at first, but they end up liking her just fine, especially if they were careful to have Pippi in the room with Stellaluna for an hour or two first so she smells like her and is thus considered 'a friend'.
