Huh.
a wizard is going to turn you into a random animal! whether you like it or not! how nice of them! spin the wheel to find out which class your new species belongs to (and then probably do a google).
#well for one I am that weird hammerhead thing that people always post on r/whatisthisbug. I think.#on the other hand the only example given is. much like my actual existence. a fluke#I think this is a sign

oh my god, please elaborate on weevil time! it totally makes sense that its an internet bit I'm not familiar with... my coworker was probably dropping a casual reference to see if we moved in the same online circles, which we clearly don't lol. please give me the reddit weevil time lore!
haha of course!! its mostly just a subreddit meme which explains its randomness. here’s a recent-ish post where it happens in the comments: https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisthisbug/s/QxVuU5FIZ1
the dedicated weeviltime subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/weeviltime/s/qeoJGGRa4W
and someone asking the question you have: https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisthisbug/s/N5W1VJiJlz
its generally because they are cute <3 hope this helps!

Following all of the identification subreddits like r/whatisthisfish or r/whatisthisbug have left me with a fantastic knowledge of strange and unique flora and fauna and a terrible curse of knowledge that people will just open palm raw skin pick up any random creature that they don't know and bring it into their house.
The sheer volume of posts of people going "what is this fuzzy caterpillar" or "what is this colorful sea creature?" With them holding in in their bare hands is HAUNTING. Don't touch shit if you don't know what it is!!!

somehow i started getting recommended posts to r/whatisthisbug and 99% of the posts are weevils (which i can now identify thanks to their snoots n boots, thank u reddit) and i get so excited seeing a new recced post on my page asking "what bug is this?" and knowing when i click into it all the comments will be "SNOOTS N BOOTS N SNOOTS N BOOTS N SNOOTS N BOOTS" and "IT'S WEEVIL TIME!!!!!!!!"
however the 1% of other posts are about spiders and roaches and bedbugs and i do NOT like those but i did learn how to identity a brown recluse from a southern house spider so it's not all bad. that said i cannot join the subreddit in case it tries to put more non-weevils on my page
