“kick his ass for me.” Mshenko!
I haven’t written mShenko in such a long time, it was fun to get back to it!
John slid into cover with nanoseconds to spare, a spray ofbullets grazing the top of his helmet as he slammed into the fallen concretepillar before him, his forearm taking the brunt of the force.
“Anytime now, Liara!” he yelled over the comms, casting aglance back to the pipe he knew Liara was hiding behind.
“My singularity won’t do anything until you overload theirshields, Shepard.” Liara retorted, popping out of cover to return some firefrom her SMG and shooting an irritated look in John’s direction beforereturning to the relative safety of her pipe.
John looked down at his omnitool, flickering haphazardly onhis arm, “About that… think I just broke my omnitool.” He heaved a sigh, turning the display off.
Risking the run, Liara burst out of cover and dashed to theblock John was sitting behind, gently sliding into place at his side, “So what’syour great plan now?” she snapped, blind-firing above the pillar.
Suddenly, the gunfire stopped and electricity crackled, the Cerberustroops in front of them frozen as energy chained between them, shorting theirshields. Kaidan’s voice crackled over the comms, “You’re not the only one withan omnitool, John,” he chuckled, obviously proud of himself for his little display,“Hit ‘em, Liara!”
Standing out of cover, Liara whipped a singularity acrossthe field, drawing the Centurions into the air, helpless as Shepard hurled awarp field at them, triggering an explosion that shook the earth below theirfeet.
Clear, at least for the moment, John and Liara vaulted overthe pillar to survey the damage. Kaidan sauntered over from his cover on theother side of the narrow building, trailing a few meters behind them. “Whatwould you do without me?” Kaidan smirked as John turned around and rolled hiseyes.
Closing the distance between them, John wrapped his armaround Kaidan’s waist and pressed a quick kiss to his mouth, tasting the sweatof battle on his lips. “Let’s hope I never have to find out,” John flashed acrooked smile as he locked eyes with Kaidan.
Liara rolled her eyes, clearly impatient, “You can gaze intoeach other’s eyes later, right now we have to look for the man who organized astrike that killed 200 refugees from Earth.”
The harsh reminder of their mission forced John and Kaidanto separate, taking an awkward step away from each other. John turned to faceLiara and began walking forward again, ready to move on.
“Shit,” he heard from behind and he turned to see Kaidanholding his forehead in the palm of his hand, slowly running back through hishair until it clasped the crown of his head.
“Kaidan, what’s wrong?” John’s voice stayed low but concernechoed through his shaky vowels and weak consonants as he ran back to his side.
“It’s noth-”“It’s not nothing,” John interrupted harshly, his voice raising, hardening. Heswallowed, forcing his voice to soften again, “Is it a migraine?”
Kaidan winced as he spoke, “Yeah,” he took a deep breath, mustering energy to speak his next sentence through the pain, “But I can workthrough it, I have to. This mission is too important.”
“No way. You’re going back to the Normandy,” John saidfirmly, placing a hand on Kaidan’s shoulder. Seeing Kaidan preparing arebuttal, “Now, and that’s an order.” He hated pulling the CO card on Kaidan ofall people but it was a risk to mission. At least, that’s what John was tellinghimself to stop him from thinking of Kaidan getting distracted by the pain andmissing something in a battle, getting hurt or worse.
Kaidan relented, nodding his head slightly to communicatethough it was clearly still painful to even move his head so little.
Liara called Cortez to bring in the shuttle for an evac forKaidan and to drop another squadmate to replace him as John helped lower Kaidanto the ground so he could rest his head.
“Take my omnitool,” Kaidan mumbled, careful not to move hishead or jaw too much.
John cast a quizzical glance down at Kaidan, brow knit andmouth twisted in confusion.
“You broke yours.”
“Ah,” John breathed, understanding now, “Thanks…” he mumbled, reaching down to take Kaidan’s omnitool off his wrist and attach it to his own.
Omnitool in place, John could hear the shuttle descendingoutside. He crouched beside Kaidan and reached his arms under his body, oneunder his knees, grapsing his thigh, and the other clutching his chest fromunder his armpit. “You ready? This’ll hurt.” He warns more than asks, but Kaidangrunts in response anyway, bracing for the pain in his head to intensify andshoot haywire signals all down his body. Heaving the Major off the ground, Johnsprints to the door of the compound, pushing the door open with his back andstepping out into the cool evening, relishing the breeze wicking away the heatclinging to his body and he can see Kaidan relax a little, not much though, asthe cool seems to help his pain a little. The door to the shuttle slides openas it lowers to the ground and Garrus steps out, coming to help John set Kaidandown on the gurney, already prepared in the chassis. Once he’s secured, Garrussteps outside to join Liara and wait for Shepard to join them.
John leans down and kisses Kaidan’s forehead gently, smoothing the sweaty hair clinging to his skin.
“Hey,” Kaidan mumbles, reaching a hand up to grab John’s, “Thatguy? Kick his ass for me.”
“Do you expect anything less?” John chuckles softly, kissingKaidan’s lips this time, careful to only brush them so as not to exacerbate anypain. Kaidan forces a smile in response. The corner of John’s lips pull up ashe backs away, “Take good care of him, Cortez,” John calls as he steps out ofthe shuttle.
“Will do, Commander,” Steve calls from the cockpit.
The shuttle takes off and John is left standing on thestreet of a destroyed city block on some forsaken colony world. Garrus andLiara step up behind him, waiting for orders.
“Alright. Let’s go kill this son of a bitch.”

Fugue Update - 16 - Play the Cards
Pairing: mShenko
Rating: M
Tags: Angst, Grief, Major (Canonical) Character Death
Summary: Alchera, and the two-year gap.
Chapter Summary: In which Kaidan makes a choice, and really hates the Hammerhead.
Many, many thanks to @pigeontheoneandonly and @urrone for betaing this beast of a chapter!
Chapter 16: Play the Cards | Read on Ao3
08 February 2185, Arcturus Stream, Arcturus, Arcturus Station
The hour and a half debrief Kaidan has to sit through on the M-44 Hammerhead is almost enough to convince him to resign his commission right then and there. But now that he’s getting a good look at the R&D behind it, the hell the prototype has put him through for the last month is starting to make a lot more sense.
The Alliance R&D lieutenant in charge of the project has never been in the field. It’s being funded by Cord-Hislop Aerospace, who developed the airframe and propulsion system but has never designed an infantry vehicle and are now scrambling to answer the question of how to stop the overcomplicated hover technology from freezing at -53C, which, coincidentally, was the temperature on Lattesh where Kaidan was testing it.
Kaidan raises his hand when he can’t take it anymore. He’s in a room with five admirals, one of them Admiral Hackett, two senior VPs from CHA flanked by someone with ‘chief engineer’ in their title and an entourage that Kaidan hasn’t bothered to count. On the other end of the table is the Hahne-Kedar senior VP and the project lead. Those two are the ones Kaidan can blame for the damn weapons system.
If Kaidan is the first person with boots-on-the-ground experience they’ve talked to, he’s going to eat his datapad.
“Commander?” the lieutenant, Olasz, Kaidan thinks his name is, asks, almost flustered. Apparently it wasn’t question time yet.
“I’m sorry,” Kaidan says, trying to suppress his exasperated sigh. He’s not even sure how much he’s expected to speak up in this meeting, but hell, if he doesn’t, he’ll owe an apology to every marine in the damn service. “I have to ask. Why are we so dead set on rocket jets for an infantry vehicle?”
Olasz stares at him, then back at the notes for his presentation.
Uh oh, Kaidan thinks. Went off script.
“Because it can reach 120 kph,” he replies after a momentary panic, repeating exactly what he’d said ten minutes ago. Or an hour ago. Kaidan’s lost track. “Over rough terrain, water.”
“I don’t see how that’s an advantage,” Kaidan says, and this time the sigh sneaks through. Across from him, Hackett’s chair creaks as he rests his elbows on the conference room table and steeples his fingertips.
“Would you mind elaborating, Commander?” he asks in a gruff voice. There’s a glint in his eye, like Kaidan just handed him an opening he’d been waiting for.
“It’s adding complication where we don’t need it,” Kaidan replies. “Or want it. Those jets are hell to maintain in the field. The fuel lines kept freezing on Lattesh to the point we almost had to abandon our mission. I’ve personally experienced the M35-Mako handling temperatures eighty degrees colder than that. We nearly got blown into a lava field on Zeona because we couldn’t stabilize it against the wind. The dust on Corang grounded us when it got sucked into the inlet. These are all problems you don’t have with tires.”
“But the efficiency—”
“It’s not efficient,” Kaidan snaps. A smirk lurks behind Hackett’s fingertips. “The design sacrifices an entire weapons system for an inferior one.”
This time one of the duo from Hahne-Kedar tries to speak up – undoubtedly in defense of the damn rockets that Aslany had to deal with when the geth colossus was almost on top of them on Corang – but Kaidan shuts her down.
“The M35-Mako has a mass accelerator cannon and a machine turret, both of which operate off the same ammo block. It’s easy to maintain, ammo is nearly infinite, and a rail gun is going to save the day almost every time. This thing has rockets. We give up infantry space to store a finite supply of them, and when they run out, we’re screwed. And then there’s the fuel. The Mako runs on a hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell. The Hammerhead runs on actual rocket fuel. Not only does that burn all the weight allowance the eezo generator gives us, but it’s very flammable cargo. Which brings me to the armor plating.”
One of the admirals, Mikhailovich, raises a hand. “Thank you, Commander. That’s very enlightening.”
I can’t believe I’m arguing in favor of the damn Mako, Kaidan thinks to himself.

Mass Effect Writetober Day 3
Prompts
Celestial Equator: two people looking at the same star; unknowing.
Read on AO3
The homeworld spread out in front of his window.
Heh. Home. Earth had never been that for Shepard. It wasn’t Earth that he’d signed on for, defended against all enemies. Earth had always been abstract. Safe, far behind him, his only connection that it was the place his parents had come from.
But here he was. Commander Shepard. A restless man of action in a small room. A man of instinctual reaction and intuition confined with nothing but his guards and his own ruminations for company, clinging to his self-discipline like a drowning man clung to a piece of wood.
He’d had two homes and both had died in fire. Shepard wondered if that was how this was meant to end as well. Reapers falling from the sky and burning humanity to cinders - and him, unarmed, stretching his arms out to greet his nightmare made real.
He’d warned them, hadn’t he? He whirled, acrid bitterness eating at his insides, pacing across the tiny room. He’d tried to be a better man after Torfan, a man worth following and believing - one who could make the hard decisions when they needed to be made, but one who ruled his anger rather than being ruled by it. He’d let Balak go to save the hostaged. He’d gotten everyone through a supposed suicide mission.
He’d handed himself in to stop a war.
Shepard turned to the window and a brittle smile curled his lips. At least he’d have a good view of the apocalypse. The light of his scars reflected back to him so he almost couldn’t see the stars hanging up Vancouver, barely visible through the pollution of Earth’s atmosphere.
The hero of the Blitz would say he’d done the right thing. He wondered if Kaidan Alenko would say the same. If he’d be able to look at Shay with all the blood dripping off his hands.
He closed his eyes and pressed his forehead against the glass.
Major Alenko and Sergeant Major Alenko (retired) sat on the front porch of the house the former had grown up in, beers in hand.
Being home was like wearing an old, favourite jacket. Still loved but a little tight around the shoulders, a little constricting. Kaidan had changed in ways he didn’t know how to vocalise to his parents.
But Josef Alenko didn’t ask. A man of few words, his father. Kaidan remembered coming home after months of working out himself after Vyrnnus, ready to be the man he wanted to be, not who Jump Zero had made him. All his father had said was welcome home, son, hugging him with arms thick from decades in the Corps. Maybe that was when that first kernel of an idea - doing good, being honourable through the Marine Corps - had sprung into his head.
He sighed, taking a long sip from his beer.
“What’s on your mind, son?” Josef Alenko asked, eyes steady in his weathered face.
Kaidan searched for the right words. He could talk with father about almost anything, including things - Marine things - his mother didn’t get. Like Virmire and Alchera, and his guilt at being alive when his friends were dead. Let the dead rest, Kaidan. It’s tiring being the ghost in the head of a man living half a life. Live fully - that’s how you honour them.
Now, Kaidan took a sip of beer and said, “It feels wrong. To be here to testify in Sha- Commander Shepard’s trial.”
“All you can do is tell the truth. Anything else is out of your hands.”
“Yeah. I know.” He breathed out and looked up at the stars, wondering how much more time they had left. Wondering if Shepard ever thought about him with anything but anger, if he remembered the soft flicker of a spark between them that now seemed destined to gutter out.
“It’s getting late, we should turn in.”
Kaidan took one last moment to look up at the dark sky and the water of English Bay, and then followed his father inside.

Express Orders
Express Orders
Summary: Admiral Hackett has given Kristofer Shepard and the crew of the Normandy express orders to take some shore leave. But Kristofer's idea of dressing casually doesn't sit well with Kaidan...**This all evolved out of some artwork I had done by the magnificent rosenkow on tumblr of my Kristofer Shepard.
Tags: fluff, date night, established relationship, mshenko
Characters: Kristofer Shepard, Kaidan Alenko
Excerpt:
“C’mon,” Kaidan insists. “Just once? For me? It’ll only be an hour, maybe two. Is that too much to ask?”
Kristofer winces as he slowly eases into a t-shirt and pulls it over his head. The ache in his shoulder is a reminder their last mission out hadn’t been kind to him. Which is yet another reason why they are having this discussion. “What’s wrong with wearing fatigues?”
From the corner of the bed where he pulls on his boots, Kaidan snorts in amusement. “We’re both off duty. We’ll be out in public. You won’t be there as a Spectre Shepard or as Commander Shepard, N7 Alliance, you’ll be there as civilian Shepard, Alliance soldier on R&R per Hackett’s express orders. It’s a chance for a break. Why not make the most of it?”
Kristofer sighs. Express orders. That was an understatement, to say the least. Yet, a frown of consternation creases his forehead as he laces up his boot. “I guess I just don’t see the point. I mean, we’re only going to grab sandwiches to take to the apartment with us, right?”
“You’re deflecting again.” Kaidan walks over to the storage area. “You don’t have any civilian clothes, do you?” he breathes, shocked at realization sets in. Taking a knee, he searches the armoire shelves they now share. “No jeans, no t-shirts –”
While working on his second boot, Kris pauses to pluck at the t-shirt he wears. “What do you call this?”
The look Kaidan gives him is less than amused. “Alliance issue,” he replies flatly....

Tagged by @rpgwarrior4824 Thanks so much :)
favorite fic you wrote this year: Uncoventional Methods. I wrote this for the reverse MEBB. It’s an mshenko fic based on Kaidan being a Canadian Mountie and mShep being a detective along with his twin sister.
least favorite fic you wrote this year: I don’t really have one. I didn’t write a whole lot this year and while I’m not fond of a few of them, I can’t say they’re terribly bad either. I’ve had some I wish I’d never written at all, just not this year.
favorite line/scene you wrote this year: There’d been something more, too. John felt it in the shared looks, the shy smiles, standing just a bit closer than normal and the random unexpected touches leaving them stuttering and breathless.
total number of words you wrote this year: AO3 says 39,312 but I have quite a few wips which have never seen the light of day yet.
most popular fic this year: 45 kudos, Whispers in the Dark; 631 hits, Blink of an Eye
least popular fic this year: Time to Go. Written for Kaidan Week, he’s about 5 and having a rough time, so he decides to run away from home. His parents catch on and find a work around. I think much of the reason it isn’t popular is because it’s tagged as Kaidan without any type of pairing, which is okay. I enjoyed writing it and am very happy with it.
longest completed fic you wrote this year: Unconventional Methods at 13,991 words.
shortest completed fic you wrote this year: Sleep Tight, John at 704 words.
longest wip of the year: My Fallout 4 long fic, A New Reality, which is at 34 chapters and still going, though I ran out of inspo after only posting 1 chapter this year and put it on hiatus. I really hope to get back to it this year and ultimately finish it.
shortest wip of the year: Touch Has a Memory, only 1 chapter left which is started but I need to get it done and posted.
favorite character to write about this year: Kaidan...always Kaidan ♥ :)
favorite writing song/artist/album of this year: A lot of songs by The Score
a fic you didn’t expect to write: A Day in the Sun - inspired by the incredible artwork from Shotce of a mer!Kaidan in the role of Ariel from The Little Mermaid. It was a lot of fun!
fic(s) you completed this year: I completed a few one shots, a reverse MEBB, and some things for Kaidan week. Also one fic which came about from a random thought -- Touch has a Memory where Kaidan has amnesia after Mars. I was trying to keep it short but while it’s not very long, it grew into 5 chapters, though the last one isn’t finished.
fics you’ll continue next year: I really hope to get back to A New Reality, my mshenko pirate AU, and a few other wips. I just kind of lost my writing spark and after a long struggle, decided to take a break from writing for awhile.
current number of wips: An enormous amount! I have xovers, AUs, and a lot of other stuff. I have enough to keep me busy if (when?!) I start writing again.
any new fics to start next year: I’d like to start writing for rdr2 and Arthur Morgan. I feel drawn to him and hope I can portray him accurately.
most memorable comment/review: From @humblydefiant -- Wow, you bring so much to just a few moments. But our thoughts are like that, aren't they? You do such an amazing job guiding us through the maze of Shepard's mind, unraveling the bundle of conflicting emotions he feels. Moving us back and forth through time to encapsulate who Shepard is and all he is physically doing is lying in bed with Kaidan. Until he's not. ;) Then you give us the happy ending and yowza! Good job!
This comment meant a lot because I felt like they were able to follow along with my writing and they felt what I had when I’d written.
events you participated in this year: The trial reverse MEBB, Kaidan week 2019, and as an artist for the actual reverse MEBB.
fics you wanted to write but didn’t: I had this idea, born from something I heard on the radio about Spanish novellas and an excerpt from one, about a 1930s/1940s nightclub AU for mshenko. A lot of things happen in the verse and I hope to get back to it. There’s also my ongoing love/hate r!gh, thanks to some awesome friends and hope to finally get back to it this year.
favorite fic you read this year: Mass Effect: Discovery by @pigeontheoneandonly This fic...it’s incredible, amazing and I can’t say enough about it! I love how Pigeon takes the game and elaborates and expands on it until what you’re reading is more like the book written about the game, giving the reader insights into the characters and planets and intricate details you miss otherwise. I was hooked from the start and the 2nd fic which follows game 2 is just as amazing!
a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read: Okay, sorry...there are three and I refuse to choose! I either just started them or they are new fics: Brothers by Gaslight in the rdr2 fandom about the brotherly relationship between Arthur Morgan and John Marston, Give to Pressure is a new fshenko western AU by citadelsushi which is off to a great start, and For You Always by RyanAckart is a new mshenko fic which is already mysterious and intriguing.
number of favorites/bookmarks you made this year: I have subscriptions but no bookmarks/favorites.
favorite fanfic author of the year: @pigeontheoneandonly I have thoroughly enjoyed reading her fics, talking occasionally and getting to know Nathaly Shepard. Can’t wait for more!

like. ITS 2183!!!! you would think a grown man wouldnt be afraid to say the word lesbian!!!!! you would think this grown man wouldnt assume that bc you like a woman that must mean you only like women!!!!! you would think the concept of bisexuality is known!!!!!! but nah!!!! apparently in the 22nd century humanity is in the exact fucking same cultural and social position as early 21st century america!!!!
#literally can't stand this about mass effect. Where Are The Gays. are we hiding? what happened to us? why is everyone straight even aliens#disclaimer: 1 pansexual monogendered character is not enough#it doesnt make up for the multitudes of straight people that r somehow still straight ACROSS SPECIES....... like...#......and then somehow two years later this fuckboy whos afraid to say the word lesbian is now retconned to be bi#like. im glad about that but it doesnt erase this whole horrible scene. they coulda chosen a better character tbh#.........on that note. wheres my bisexual ashley williams. where is she bioware.#anyway maybe later ill check out the mshenko romance and see what this fuckboy has to say for himself#hope its good bc otherwise im gonna judge the mass effect fandom real hard for how much they focus on mshenko in the archives....#heater-talks#mass effect

So, to prepare for LGBTQ+ Shepards week, I’m going to refamilarize myself with my LGBTQ+ Shepards, and maybe some of you will even enjoy reading about this as well, who knows. (Just to get all of them out here, I will also be posting about my straight cisgender Shepard but she won’t be tagged with any LGBTQ+ Shepard week tags) So, this is Ethan, my first protagonist in any non-Sims video game, ever and a proud pansexual. I’ve posted a brief bio before, but he’s changed since then.
Ethan has spent almost his entire life in space, only living planet-side for the first few months of his life in Montreal, while his parents were on leave. His mother, Hannah Shepard, was a hardworking marine who thrived in leadership roles, a characteristic she passed onto her only child. His father, Isaac Shepard, was an all around tech specialist who filled gaps on whichever ship he served on, from the engineering corps, to navigation, and even to special ops infiltration teams. Ethan’s parents separated when he was 9 due to disagreements on how to raise him. Only a few days after being reassigned to serve aboard a new ship, Isaac died in action after the ship was boarded by pirates. As a kid, Ethan was well known by all of his mother’s crewmates and always found himself fascinated by the engineers and the workings of the ships his mother served on.
In school he excelled at science and math, as well as music. He enlisted in the miltary as soon as he graduated to pursue a career as a member of the Alliance Engineering Corps. While on shore leave in Elysium, visiting a man he had met on Arcturus Station, the Batarians attacked. Ethan effectively saved the colony by holding the invaders off until reinforcements arrived.
In 2183, he briefly pursued a relationship with Dr. Liara T’Soni, though he later admitted it was a grief-driven response to losing one of his closest friends, Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams, during the assault on Saren Arterius’ base on Virmire. When he came back from the dead in 2185, he and Liara decided not to rekindle their relationship. After his run-in with then Commander Kaidan Alenko, Ethan was thrown for a loop and found himself unable to focus on the flirtations he had begun with Miranda Lawson. He directed his attention entirely to his suicide mission, expecting a one-way trip. When he and Kaidan met again in 2186, Ethan was determined to repair their friendship and hopefully quell the gut-twisting pain he felt at the thought of the Major. It wasn’t until Kaidan mentioned the possibility of a relationship between the two that Ethan even realized he had been in love with him for over a year. To end the war between the sapient species of the Milky Way and the Reapers, Ethan chose to destroy all Reaper encoded synthetic beings. Ethan barely survived the resulting explosion, being found by a search and rescue team 3 days later. Ethan spent 2 years in intensive physiotherapy regaining movement in his legs and acquainting himself with a prosthetic arm. Kaidan and Ethan married on Armistice Day in 2189 in memory of Ashley and settled down with 2 dogs and 3 children, all orphaned by the war. Both veterans retired from the Alliance shortly after and were immediately poached by Jon Grissom Academy to teach engineering and biotics. Ethan would only teach for a few years before being selected as the new human councillor, splitting his time between his apartment on the citadel, Kaidan’s apartment in Grissom Academy, and their beachfront home on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia.

OTP Song Meme
Was tagged by @illusivesoul Yay! :D
Rules: Sum up your OTP in a three-song playlist.
My OTP in Mass Effect is Shenko. Since this is a three song playlist, I’m totally making this trilogy-themed as well. Did I mention my Shep playlist is super long? A good chunk of it is romance songs. Using female pronouns here, but I think all three songs are also appropriate for MShenko head canons. :)
ME 1: Starships -- Nicki Minaj
This is my head canon-- while on their search for Saren, probably just before Virmire, the crew stops by Flux for some R & R. After a few shots, Ash goads Shep about staying on the sideline while most everyone else is cutting loose. Shep takes it as a personal challenge, and before long she’s face to face with her favorite lieutenant, dancing, in public. Before things get too risky, the music picks back up again and they’re back to their normal “I would never fraternize ;) “ selves.
youtube
ME 2 : Wish You Were Here -- Pink Floyd
Basically, my soundtrack to the scene where Faithful!Shep stares pointedly at the screen before leaving for the suicide mission. She definitely wishes things could have gone differently between them, but she knows her convictions about the Collectors, and that she has to let that override her feelings about Cerberus, at least for now. I *ahem* have a much different song for the Shep that moves on after Horizon. :D;
youtube
ME 3: Lonely Boy -- The Black Keys
Kaidan especially has a old school vibe to him. I have no idea if he’d been into bluesy alternative rock from the 21st Century, but I can imagine it. This song is for after they reconcile, but have to make time for each other between missions on top of their Spectre business.
youtube
I’ll tag @princessofmilkyway, @renegade-shepard, and @spacesquirrel
#otp playlist meme#shenko#this is probably the most mainstream playlist I've ever made o_O#like people might recognize all these songs#ignore my blabbering#I'm a music nerd/snob

O R A N G E for the ask meme
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?
Sleeping At Last - Saturn (since I’m listening to my angst playlist). It reminds me a bit of femshepley/Ashley in the two years Shepard is dead/in a coma.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
Currently I think my favourite friendship/the one that I find most interesting is Joker and Shepard’s friendship. At least in part because it is complex.
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
Femshepley (shocking, I know), Vetra/Ryder, mShenko, Shaynor
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
Femslash in general, milscifi because I have niche tastes lol and Ashley + Vetra content.
G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?
Oh boy yeah. I think my first real OTP was Rachel Morgan/Ivy Tamwood from the Hollows series (and I’m not bitter).
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?
I mean, I wrote Lexi giving Ryder the talk about banging Vetra.
#about the blogger#thanks for the ask#ask me stuff#i am bravely procrastinating on tumblr to avoid writing virmire

Okay, I might have quite the unpopular opinion here but I fucking HATE it when people are like 'mshenko' is the only actually legit ship for Shepard and Kaidan. This might be the stereotypical T R I G G E R E D tumblr user talking but I see that majorly as people trying to eliminate the fact that he's bisexual. When he writes his letter to Shep in 2 and mentions his buddies are trying to get him together with a doctor but doesn't specify the doctor's gender. He was trying to piece himself back together after the destruction of the SR-1. Maybe during this time he discovered he was bi and when he was with other men??? Maybe he discovered buried feelings for Shepard because their mission with Saren and the Geth was more imporrant????? I just hate it when people put same sex relationships on a pedastal with a bisexual character. Neither ship in this case is better than the other because they're both right and just about the same. The only real difference being is that Kaidan didn't fuck Mshep before Ilos. I like to think he was still figuring himself out sexually because his career didn't exactly allow him to do so. Just.....end rant about bi-erasing here I guess.
