     ODDLY  ENOUGH,   SHE  THINKS  THAT  SOME  OF  THEM    might really be edible.    if there are wanderers like lemonette, then there are definitely others that can be eaten granted that they do not immediately    DISSIPATE    into protocores.    it is a tough thought, something that provokes thought as she taps her chin    &    hums.    charlotte definitely gave her something to    PONDER    about for a bit as they trudge along the path nearing the ocean opening.    fluctuations are prominent there so they have been    DISPATCHED    to take care of the problem.   in turn, she thinks she remembers that they will be treated to a week-long break to catch up to other obligations outside of work    -     maybe sleep too.     

"  i do.    everytime i think of the    WYRMLORD,     i think,   wow, that dragon would make a really good meal for a three day festival.  "    it feels somewhat morbid to think of creatures like that but considering their topic at hand, she figures that it will not be the most    ODD   thing to say out there.    "  but they disappear immediately after defeating them so i think it is   NOT    really possible.  "     which sucks  !    because she can imagine how fun it would be to bring back an oversized creature from a physical conquest.    though, it is also convenient as it lessens the need to    CLEAN    up.     

as the protofield grows more   &   more apparent while they    TRAVEL,    her gaze flits to the high-rank wanderer patrolling the area.     "  if this one doesn't disappear, maybe we can see if its possible to    PURIFY    and cook it should it not be poisonous.  "     her stomach growls in agreement.    yeah,   that's definitely a good idea.

THE MOST ANNOYING missions were ones that involved dealing with the elemental wanderers. enemies that used brute force could be countered with a well-timed parry or a perfect dodge. and sure, if the hit landed, it'd hurt like hell. what was worse were the elemental wanderers who wielded staffs and conjured their element accordingly - today it had to be a rigid ice. madeleine knew as soon as those dreaded nauticverges spawned they had to act fast - or else they'd turn to ice themselves.

although not necessarily difficult, the fight proved to be annoying as madeleine and charlie were both claymore users. the heavy hitters were slow and at a natural disadvantage against the long ranged mages. while they made fast work of the wanderers, madeleine was not too lucky and had been a second too late from dodging an attack, getting the brunt of an ice shot - the dust of cold exploding against her uniform with a shatter. thankfully she could see charlie landing the finishing blow against the dreadful nauticverge - she tries to dust off her poor jacket and shorts from the remnants of the ice.

what a rookie mistake - how mortifying ! madeleine's head is downturned while she reconvenes with charlie. the lingering cold nips at her, not having gotten rid of all the ice.

« ugh, the worst possible match up for us. thanks for landing the last blow, i was careless. » madeleine berates herself, looking off to the distance to where the second half of their mission was - when she's shocked that charlie had reached out to help straighten out her disarrayed jacket.

« ah... thank you... » she knew she hadn't gotten all the ice off - but had the blast really disheveled her uniform that much? madeleine hopes that this wasn't going to lower charlie's thoughts of her - of how clumsy she seemingly was - she was much more composed than this ! madeleine looks down as charlie fixes her tie - her cheeks flushing a soft pink as she averts her gaze quickly after.

« i feel a little embarrassed... » it's a whisper under her breath to herself as they continue on. surely it's... fine. they can't move on to the next part of their mission looking off - where their poor uniforms (and they themselves) will probably face more danger, but she appreciates it nonetheless.

"I think about what could have been daily. From the time I wake up and by the time I go back to bed." I walk towards the window and look out into the night sky. Some stars being visible and the moon full. The sound of rain hitting the window. "I honestly wish I did things differently and maybe just maybe shit would've ended up differently." I let out a long sigh. "If I tried harder and did things differently it would've been alright."

MADELEINE GRIMACES, EVEN if charlie had been smiling she overthinks her words. she was... twisting her arm? putting her in a rough spot? maybe she shouldn't have suggested helping out, and training afterwards. she mulls over the idea of retracting her offer to charlie - when she didn't seem willing. distracted with her own thoughts, she almost missed charlie's next words.

so... she did want to train later ? it sounded like it...? madeleine blinks at charlie, now processing her next words. « ...that's correct. »

« we might not get the chance to even test your words if we continue stalling. » the taunting could come after. what needed to be done was the stack of paperwork that was still untouched on the other's desk. madeleine gestures to the pile with a tilt of her chin, an inquisitive expression upon her features.

« since it's your work, delegate me a chunk that you haven't worked on yet so we don't overlap. » it'd be pointless to duplicate work that was already done - but once charlie handed over a portion it'd be a quick turnaround to hopefully get the rest of the work done, so they can get out of the office before it's too late.

madeleine pauses, however, charlie's earlier words still weighing on her mind. « ...but if you finish it yourself by all means. ill go off and train myself. »

despite sounding like a taunt, it's presented a matter of factly. madeleine simply shrugs - whatever charlie decided was beyond her, she thought she has been doing a kind favour but perhaps it was taken as overstepping.

there's a tiny part of her that wants to say no, but she already knows that madeleine wasn't going to take that as an answer. at this point, charlie was far too exhausted to argue with her, and if it would get these damn papers off of her desk, then she was going to take any help that she could get. she let out a dramatic, defeated sigh, giving madeleine a look of exasperation.

" okay, okay - but you're twisting my arm, " despite her reaction, she said it with the tiniest smile on her face. yeah, she was definitely looking forward to swinging that sword and taking her frustration out on... well, something. maybe madeleine herself, if she was up for it.

" and i kind of need that to be able to knock you down once we're done here, right? "

✧. SUNNY HELD IN A KNOWING SMILE as best as she could manage to preserve Ophelia's act. "Are you doing a cosplay of Xavier right now? It's veeery convincing," she teased with the stretch of the syllable. Curiosity got the better of her. She leaned over Ophelia's desk with prying eyes scanning over the forms.

"Ah," she nodded. "Those follow up reports are annoying especially with how frequent wanderer attacks are now. C'mon, let's give your legs a stretch and walk down to the cafe." With a quick tilt of her head, she gestured towards the door. Overkill was never part of Sunny's vocabulary either, so she held out a hand towards the other hunter.

"Don't want you falling asleep along the way."

I'm gonna gush on Karmyn for a hot minute here. I've had this lovely OC from original lore I wrote about back only a week or so before I started playing Love and Deepspace. So around September? So she's the real MC I started shaping from the OG template. The real glow up, if you will.

I didn't even know about templates or looking into videos about tweeking facial features. I just winged it, played with creation for hours, until I was finally happy later on with it all. I knew I just wanted her to have fox-like features.

I adore her so very much. She truly went through everything so my other LADS OCs and MCs could flourish. Here's my favorite final glowup photos of my baby girl.

I grip her hands softly before looking into her eyes. "What about this feeling makes you afraid?" I ask my tone soft and curious. I gently rub my thumbs on the top of her hands.

"I mean, yeah. Anyone would be disinterested if the guy selling it to you were that pushy." Tala was disinterested and she was usually pretty easygoing. "If he's this pushy now about his tastes? Red flag. I'm not buying into it." Slowly she was becoming more and more invested in the highly publicized world of a televised relationship but it was honestly kind of fun. It was something for them to talk about and she never thought she would be this interested in something this shallow. Maybe it was just because of her company? It made all the difference.

Tala's quick to sit down beside Charlie, getting comfortable in her spot beside her. "There's no way she chooses him, right? She had way better chemistry with Jesse. They actually seemed like they had a connection and this felt pretty one-note to me. I don't know if he was nervous or what but I'm getting bad vibes from Dante." Her voice is hushed, awaiting the announcement with baited breath as she nibbles on her pretzel stick. "If she picks Dante I think I might actually roll my eyes so hard they'll roll right into my head."

she knew tala wasn't exactly the world's biggest fan of reality tv, and honestly, neither was charlie. a lot of the reason she watched this kind of stuff was because it was usually the only interesting show that was on once she got home and tried to find something to watch. it started as a way to unwind, and then she got incredibly invested in one particular show called romance city, and it was all downhill from there.

"that's what i'm saying!" she said a bit too excitedly, sitting up once tala provided her own input on the awful situation between sierra and dante.

"so you saw the way she seemed completely uninterested in anything Dante had to say, right? i mean, he was being really pushy about getting her to watch that one show about robots, even when she tried to change the subject-" she paused, turning her attention back to the TV once the announcements started.

"quick, sit down-" she patted the spot next to her excitedly, making room for her friend.

Pup was just dozing off in his sentry station, head snugged onto the sleeves of his hoodie, much like a cat, as thin trails of smoke wafted out of the sides of his skull. A purr-like snore coming out of him here and then. He didn’t seem to notice another presence around.
