Poppy for N2 au, it took me so long to make her design cuz I didn't really know what I wanted to do only because I feel like her design is pretty perfect.
But then I just thought about fun outfits to give her or outfits that I would find comfortable if I was wearing them and it all came together.
Poppy here is pretty much the same as here movie counterpart, as nothing really changes on her end of things other than having more insight on Branch through his brothers, and through Lief. Shes also a bit more understanding a bit earlier on because of it but it doesnt do much to change her own character arc I would say.
Bonus
Part of Poppys design was based off a design I had made for previous rulers of Troll Village/Tree
Namely Queen Protea who I designed as Poppys grandmother

Named after the Protea flower which part of her design is based off :D
In the context of this Au Protea was the one who conceptualized the tunnels while her son, King Peppy, was the one to follow through after her death
#my art#dreamworks trolls#trolls#trolls 3#trolls au#trolls band together#trolls branch#trolls poppy#trolls oc#trolls oc lief#trolls oc protea#its really hard to mess with poppy at least in the context of this au cuz like i said nothing really changes on her end#whats changed in this au was just stuff on Branchs side of things#Poppy can witness these things but she herself isnt really changed by them#she of course would have more insight on Branchs life through his brothers and the addition of Lief as a character#but idk if that would fully change her approach with him other than what ive displayed#where shed try to relate to branch rather than trying to force him to relate to her#which would then most likely make her more understanding going forward than she was in canon#im still figuring her out#also since im in the tags and nobody really reads this#i feel brave enough to say#that secretly#ive been kind of sort of#posting a fanfic of this au under the name not the only one#on ao3#and thats where Protea comes from#its not well written in the slightest#but its just for fun and practice so in my mind it doesnt really have to be entirely#but i am having fun with it#so if you see this and check it out please be so very nice to me please

Can’t stop thinking about Viktor and Jon parallels cause I have tma brainrot and anytime I see anything even remotely similar I go “is that a magnus reference?”
Anyways thinking about the differences in the choices they did and did not make and how both of them came back from the dead and were involved in ending the world.
I talked a bit about it before but Jon chooses to come back to life and become a monster. Granted it wasn’t a fair choice but he did choose it. Meanwhile the end of the world was not his choice. As much as he thinks otherwise it was not his fault. He didn’t “accidentally” start the apocalypse, he wasn’t “manipulated into it” he straight up did not end the world. Jonah did. Using Jon. Yes he was manipulated to prepare for the ritual (still not his fault), but actually ending the world? Jonah did that. He straight up took control of his body. Jon was the tool. The key to open the door. Jonah shaped the key and turned it.
Viktor is the opposite. He did not choose to come back to life. In fact he had basically accepted his death and was actively suicidal. Jayce brought him back (and I don’t really blame him for that. He didn’t know the consequences and he was trying to save the man he loved). Viktor did however, almost end the world (and succeeded in some timelines? I’m confused). Now it’s hard to say how much of that was Viktor. He was heavily influenced by the arcane, but Jon was also heavily influenced by the Eye (not that you can really compare them). We don’t know how sentient the arcane is but we can guess that its main goal/instinct is to spread. If it worked through Viktor or if it was simply influenced him, altering his thoughts and feelings to more easily rationalize what he was doing. Either way Viktor would not have done what he did without the arcane. But he did do it. The arcane isn’t a person. You can’t really put all the blame there. And we did see that Viktor was still in there, deep down, enough that he could change his mind. Meaning that to a certain degree, he did choose it. Viktor’s actions were his own, even if they were influenced. He’s the most responsible for what happened. Jayce also carries some responsibility for bringing Viktor back in the first place and creating hextech alongside Viktor, but again, he did not know the consequences of that. Neither did Viktor at first. So how much are they to blame?
I just find it fascinating how such similar events (even if they are still vastly different) happen in two completely different series and how the characters had different levels of agency throughout it.
#their stories end the same way too#dead or somewhere else#some of this is pretty speculative#since we don’t get much insight into Viktor’s thought process and we spend very little time with him#compared to Jon who we get to know and see change over 200 episodes#and im still fresh from watching the finale#I’ve only seen it once and still need to process what I actually think about some of it#but these two will not leave my mind#btw I’m not saying nothing Jon did was his fault#he’s done stuff that was 100% his choice#but I’m focusing on the apocalypse specifically here and that was not his fault#I really hope this is coherent#it’s almost 4am and I can’t sleep#viktor arcane#jonathan sims#arcane#arcane spoilers#arcane season 2#tma#the magnus archives#echoing thoughts

Continuing through some routes in the hundred line and it is so interesting for me to see an Uchikoshi Protagonist in a very Kodaka setting and narrative with characters that mostly have that best Danganronpa-esque character development arcs in hope with them. Like, it is very VERY interesting to have what I call the dumbasshole uchikoshi archetype (see: Junpei, Sigma, Date) take the lead in a role that would suit the likes of Makoto, Hajime, and Shuichi better in rallying the people in their kindhearted leadership.
but takumi is different. takumi, at the end of the day, however kind he may be, is incredibly and inherently selfish. Which makes things oh so more interesting
#that being said he is also an annoying little punkass#but yea this is a unique protagonist for me because this is like if junpei and akane got switched#like takumi for me has that akane 999 streak in him if you get what i mean#stopping at nothing to get the ending they want even if it means hurtjng the ones around them#which is so interestkng to see in a game that just screams danganronpa 54 because we just never really had protags like thay#because at the end of the day the protags danganronpa had were all rooted in HOPE and stuff#but not this one fjdjd takumi does not give a fuck about the world if it meant karua wasnt in it#and thats not danganronpa-esqye#that is just so so uchikoshi taken to fhe extreme - by giving the main character akane's insight and powers#so yea as much as YOU ANNOY ME TO DEATH TAKUMI#he is one of the more intriguing protagonists yet#the hundred line#the hundred line last defense academy#izzy reacts to the hundred line#kotaro uchikoshi#kazutaka kodaka

Macbeth Donmar Supporter's Zoom Conversation
On the 9th of May 2023 Donmar Warehouse held a Zoom "meeting" for supporters where Michael Longhurst talked about their two newly announced productions - Clyde's and Macbeth. This was a week before tickets went on general sale and before they announced that Cush Jumbo would be playing Lady Macbeth.
At the time it was all, of course, quite exciting since everything they revealed during the talk was brand new info! Most of which wouldn't be known at large until the play was being perfomed (or later). I think only about 80 people participated, most of which I think either worked for the Donmar or were members at much higher levels.
Today it's no longer new information as such, but I thought it might still be interesting to make a post about what was said during this talk :)
Michael first spoke about Clyde's (which I didn't actually listen much too) and then introduced Macbeth as their Christmas show (using the word Christmas "incredibly tenuously") saying the cast was yet to be revealed, but called it a beautiful ensamble piece, and that they were in the process of casting with the cast to be revealed "shortly".
He then went on to say that the casting that was revealed the week before made a bit of a spark - David Tennant coming to the Donmar to play Macbeth :) He mentioned it being directed by Max Webster since Michael was so impressed with how he did Henry V the year before. He said they had a joyful process of going to their favourite actors trying to match slots and titles to the actors that they love - and that they were thrilled that Mr. Tennant was stepping up to the Scottish play - "we felt it was time!"
"He [David] has obviousley given amazing Shakespearean performances - Hamlet, Richard II at the RSC - I, yeah, I think his verse speaking is frankly unparalleled, it's a thing of beauty. He's quicksilver, but he can push himself into the most extraordinary characterisations."
He went on to say that David and Max were deep into discussions about what this production should be. He said there's always Macbeths, but he thought what they would do so spectacularly would be to allow it to be a deeply psychological take on the play (facilitated/inspired by the Donmar's space).
He said they had a very exciting Lady Macbeth who would be announced in a week. He said she was a Donmar alumni who had a great Shakespearean set of works under her belt. He was thrilled to reunite her with David, saying that they had just done a TV series together. "So you can go do some subtle googling, but please don't share it" :P "It's amazing, they are gonna be a fierce combination!"
Someone then asked about whether the show would be streamed to which Michael said they were having conversations about it since there was a LOT of interest and they knew demand for this show with David would be incredibly high. So they would be doing everything they could to get the show streamed, it was their absolute ambition. Not least since it would be amazing to be able to share it with students. So they were in those conversations "as we speak". He later talks about it again - saying that streaming is a way of mass sharing, even if it can't recreate the experience of closeness at the Donmar. That they would try to secure screenings of it since they were aware it would be very popular "It's almost a curse of having such an intimate theatre - that when you program a star like that, it becomes huge".
Choosing to stage Macbeth was down to Michael and Max having a conversation about a short list of Shakespeare plays Max was keen to have a go at and them talking about various leading actors (later he expands on this as Max having had conversations with potential leading actors on which titles they were inspired with/ to perform - sorta like an Actors dating spree, 6 months ago) to decide which one would be the best one for this moment - "David's availibity created this window between two massive screen projects and it felt like the one to grab". Macbeth hadn't been staged at the "Donmar" since 1976 - with the legendary Dench and McKellen version. Michael said he thinks that the Donmar stage is the perfect space for Macbeth since "it allows the director and the lead actor to utterly hold a room of people in a way that'd be thrilling and terrifying, that you can't necessarily do in other spaces". He then said that he didn't think Max was interested in the witches and the supernatural as real entities but rather looking at psychological, trauma related reasons to explore those devices within the play. He also said Max was very passionate about making it very Scottish and that he had already been meeting with Scottish folk musicians to create his ensemble team. Also that he was very interested in Lady M being from outside the Scottish hiearchy - that she's be unafraid to challenge that Scottish status quo.
For Michael it's about "the synergy of an actor who should be playing that character - and that is Mr. David Tennant because he is one of our greatest verse speakers, let alone the greatest Scottish verse speaker".
He said that the production would definitely be a contemporary set. A modern dress Macbeth.
He then said that the reason he wanted to back Max as a director is that he thinks he offers a brand of total theatre that is really exceptional. There was a question about the music used in Henry V, and Michael said he just knew about the Scottish folk music and that music would be a part of the show, and that music is always a big part of Max's shows.
Someone then asked if they consult with scools on what plays they are studying in order to choose what they put on. Michael says they were obviously very aware of Macbeth being part of the curriculum and that being one of the reasons they thought this was "the text. And obviousley with David and his DW background, he brings a huge appeal and accesibility for young people who might find Shakespeare challenging - and you know, being brought into that story by someone they know and love so well is...you know we saw the effect happen on Henry V, 40% of people coming to the Donmar were coming for the first time when we had Henry V on - and it's thrilling to expand that connection, and we know David will do the same".
#david tennant#Macbeth#Donmar Macbeth#Cush Jumbo#Sorry about the constant shift in tenses - it got rather confusing#First of the “extra material” that I have lying around#I'll be doing a post about the pre-show talk they did in October I think - I didn't attend it but received a video of it#And I'll take a look through my emails to check if there was anything interesting in the weekly rehersal updates#Anyway - this is most of the talk - but they did go more into lengths on some themes and a few things I didn't really mention#but I think this captures the majority of what was said#and should offer a nice little insight into the process at that point#I think I'd run out of space if I worte everything down and thought it'd be nicest to keep in within one post#Also this was why I never really doubted that it would be filmed :)#Not sure if David's original plans changed due to the strikes...or if one of the massive projects is rhe stuff ge ended up doing 🤔

im having an absolute unadulterated blast with the Ethersea prologue for many many reasons, it's beautiful and exceeds all my expectations.. but also. there's many moments here that genuinely make me go "oh god damn, these people are Americans." the Quiet Year system is a profoundly fascinating and revealing game - nothing tells you quite as much about how somebody sees the world than asking them to imagine a new one.
#customizable 'single family housing' the immediate adoption of a liberal economic system hierarchical gvt structures... and fish#especially when the whole set up is such a clear metaphor for climate change as the consequence of industrialization!#'single family housing' just rocked me so hard. that in the middle of an apocalypse we'd use resources towards that kind of individualism#and then they *do* kind of brush against that! with the idea of Community going down because of the inability to connect with neighbours!#the adventure zone#taz ethersea#mine#edit also not to understate that i do find the critique and allegory that is present to be really nice and genuinely exciting#the ending of prologue v goes SO HARD i was out of breath from the excited stimming#and i think my difficulty reading tone made me miss that the 'entrepeneur' thing was a joke? like theres still some#interesting biases at work here but maybe there's more insight than i gave it credit for. im curious about how ol' joshie's bs will develop#autistic anarchocommie netwon moments#also i wish theyd be less anxious about the brinear as a DID allegory i think it could be so interestinggg#we'll see. im really loving this show so far. taz has such a very special direct connection to my heart#i really like what theyre doing with this stuff even if sometimes i wish theyd do a lot more#the ending monologue of prologue v basically encapsulates most of the things about this that i find exciting and cool#i hope the transition to dnd will still allow them to bloom

Emotionally, 23.5 (episode 10) is like a cheaply made puzzle, where like, the edges are cut roughly, so like, you THINK that you have the right pieces next to each other, but when you smush them in, and they don't fit QUITE smoothly enough, you're like, oh maybe there's another piece, but like, you CAN'T find another piece that works, because like, the piece you have in your hand IS the piece that is the right one for the picture you're making, or like, you THINK it is, so like, you keep smushing the pieces together, and you THINK the puzzle makes sense, but you kinda feel like you have the wrong piece, or worse, you're MISSING A BETTER PIECE, because everything's NOT QUITE JIVING.
I hope this post made as much sense as the emotional journey we attempted to take with the script in this last episode. What the FUCK is this script doing to Ongsa? A little more context, some smoother edges, would be really helpful here!
#what the fuck#all of a sudden ongsa's unexplained shit comes back#are we gonna get another i'm sorry i'm sorry i'm sorry for the next episode?#and wave away all the need for more explanation again?#you can't really write this stuff away#we need to know why we need to cheer for these characters hello!#23.5 degrees#23.5#23.5 degrees the series#23.5 the series#milklove#milk pansa#love pattranite#ongsasun#ongsa x sun#sun x ongsa#i'm gonna fucking say it because it's friday and i know it's not related but#i miss inkpa.#so lame but true to what i'm feeling right now#we got like maybe what 15 minutes of inkpa total? 10 MINUTES?#maybe 20 total including our skyy 2 if we were lucky?#and we got way more a story with inkpa including tons of insight into pa's dumbass parents#come on#by episode 11 we need to know why ongsa would be fearful of being out in front of her family#it's too late in the series to find out about this#because a point of the story would be that we'd go through her journey of confronting her insecurities duh!!!#wow i'm mad

love it when a character that's hard to read intuitively for you has like a dedicated fandom interpreter who can just glance at their blank face in a panel and then give you a 3k word essay on their innermost thoughts & desires & fears and neatly tie it back into the themes & whatnot as if it's the most obvious thing in the world
#im talking about griffith btw#guts i feel i get intuitively - maybe because i have some personality traits in common with him#and we get more about his life concretely told to us in canon. so he is a bit easier to pin down as a character and feel attached to for me#but whenever i was reading the manga i just kept wanting more insight about griffith's actions and feelings#like ok yeah its fun to have mysterious antagonists and suspense /tension etc but its also fun to feel like you deeply understand them too#and i felt like that was a bit missing from him for me in canon#so reading about him in analysis and fics is the most fun for me rn#he always felt kinda half unreal to me- which maybe was the point of him - but i wanted a bit more about his childhood or something?#and wished we had more stuff explicitly from his pov in the story to read or explanation about his transformation or wtv#and now he's so much more closed off to me even than he was in the golden age. i keep waiting for him to explain stuff and he does not#ANYWAYS all this rambling to say some people out there are very good at interpreting him and making his like. insecurities#more obvious to me bc i didnt really get that side of him from canon intuitively well#also im really enjoying reading the first few berserk fics ive read#there may not be a ton of them out there but there is def writing talent in the fandom#i'll share some recs once i'm done sifting through most of what's out there to read#also (not to tie everything back to death note but it IS my home fandom after all)#i feel griffith is obvs the more light-like character here and L maybe a bit guts-like? but unlike berserk in death note#light is the one you get to know best and L is the mysterious / unreal one you don't get a lot of concrete insight into#and in the DN fandom I can read the more mysterious character intuitively but had to warm up to the less mysterious one instead#and the mystery of L makes sense to me and doesnt bug me as much due to like - he HAS to hide a lot about himself or else he will die lol#so some similarities there but also some opposite feels as well#berserk spoilers#p

For the UK based moots! The Brawn GP documentary that was originally on Disney+ is going to be airing on the BBC Two for the next 4 Sundays (starting tonight), and is also on BBC iPlayer.
I have no idea how long it'll be on iPlayer for BUT it's a fantastic F1 documentary, and you can now watch it for free!
#obvs I'm very Team Brackley biased BUT it's really well made (much better than DTS) and has so much good insight#and behind the scenes stuff#(also... the brackley boys... is that's your thing)#Formula 1

Day 3! And preceding and subsequent interludes.
Okay, so they're giving Moash hemalurgic spikes. I suppose that explains (on a narrative level) why he was blinded. Somehow I'm still skeptical he's getting his happy ending, but I'll admit he's lasted longer than I thought he would.
And I think El might be the sexiest character in stormlight archive. Sorry Leshwi, you're still number two, but come on look at him.
Okay, for actual stuff that happened, this is the high quality Szeth (and Nightblood and highspren and Kaladin) content I came here for. Szeth is great. Every moment is gold. Not that I doubted for a second. I don't need a plot, I just need 1300 pages of Kaladin awkwardly trying to bond with him while all the voices in his head are giving him wrong and contradictory instructions. I'm an easy guy to please, I have simple tastes, you all knew this.
Right, there you go, day 3 was good because Szeth. (Also yeah, definitely enjoying Nightblood again.) Day 2 was also good because Szeth, sorry, I didn't elaborate too much last night.
I'm glad his highspren is taking a more active role in his life, now that he doesn't have Taravangian, Nale, or Dalinar, I was really worried he wouldn't have someone there to give him orders constantly, so I'm glad he has that.
#sorry guys i'm not insightful or clever i just really do just like szeth.#all my other favorite characters can suffocate in a tar pit and i'll still just be happy i got to read so many scenes with szeth in them.#basket's tag for reading stormlight 5; inevitably will contain spoilers (yes this is all part of the tag)#sorry i've been a bit slow to read this day bc i've been looking over and talking to people about the rlain stuff

having a crush is literally like being under a curse
#i would not even say that a crush is whats going on right now its more like an attempt to understand something that already happened#which happens to involve processing a lot of unprocessed romantic feelings for someone i was not allowed to have that kind of feelings for#(married adult in position of direct authority over me starting when i was like 19)#but lmao im like listening to some old stuff and its like.#4:45 aw man was he fake deep. hes talking way too much about social media.#4:50 no hes perfect... hes so smart and insightful i could talk w him for hours..#4:55 no he is a little fake deep but hes still perfect#ive been going back and forth for days about like. do i think the vibe was there. do i think he was into me. my memories are so unclear#if i look at specific things he did and focus on the energy i felt in the room at the time it seems more clear#but everything in evangelical culture runs on plausible deniability and lies of omission so it's allllll very confusing#he clearly did treat me as a favored student he did get overly personal & vulnerable with me he did find small ways to flirt#it's just hard.. part of my brain still assumes he treated everyone that way because he was extremely warm and friendly with everyone#and like so charismatic that the majority of people found him difficult to dislike#but idk. either he made himself really easy to read or he just naturally was to me#wow im saying way too many details about this#deleting later

Read Claire Donner @anhed-nia 's Novelization Splice 🧬
While this novel stays faithful to the original story written by Vincenzo Natalie it definitely has it's own unique flair! I especially appreciated the fact it gives more insight into the thoughts and feelings of the characters. It enhances the experience and allows for further digging into the dynamics and themes that are present in this tale.. There is plenty that makes Splice interesting and the novel presents it in an engaging way! Recommend for fans of the film and sci-fi horror enthusiast in general!
It also includes some concept art which is cool!
#splice#vincenzo natali#hope this review is fine i dont write many but i really enjoyed it!#also idk how to include this in the post without making it really wordy but im also enjoyed you including details that are in the backgroun#like for example how they have a bunch of art toys and weebish stuff at their place cause i noticed it watching#but you conect it to the characters and the dynamics well#and the parts where you get into drens head ate stand iut of course#and the other characts thoughts too the additional insight just gives more details and depth to chew on#like the film has the parts there but i feel like this enhanced it closer to its potential#cause yeah its got some interesting dynamics and themes going on#and by dynamics i mean between characters and how they shift and change#anyway ive rambles too much#talks

When I came back in from the left the sniffer was gone??? I haven’t been back to the room yet but I wanted to share the ghost I saw lmao
#signalis#signalis spoilers#rotcunt stuff#I also completely forgot just how much I love rotfront as a location#the way things look and the insights we get to a normal eusan like city essentially is really interesting#I find the rooms and the meat enticing
