For our eighth task, we decided to do something a little different and rather than meta, and do a paragraph mashup! All that we need members to do is like this post (or send us an ask if you have multiple characters/specific characters you want to involve) and we’ll make sure you get a pairing for a new thread! We thought this would be a great way to kick off the summer here at Rebuild and celebrate all our new members because we’re that excited. As always, this is completely optional!

The threads we’re going to leave up to everyone’s creative liberty, but when we post the pairings (which will most likely be groups of 2), we’ll be posting some prompts relevant to relationship development and main plot! 

Once again, to participate, all you need to do is like this or send us an ask detailing which characters you’d like involved. (For example, I’d like to include Natasha and Reed! Thank you.) We’d like to reiterate that participation is not necessary, but we’d love to see people involved! We ask that everyone send in their characters by Monday, May 7, and we’ll announce pairings on Tuesday, May 8.

For our sixth task, and the first of this new arc, we ask you to look to the future. To imagine what plots lay in wait for your character. This task is as ever, optional, but we especially encourage everyone to participate in this one!

This task comes in two parts. Part the first, come up with a list of plots. At least three, though more are welcome. Three plots or arcs you’d like to explore with your character. They can be personal, or related to the overall Skrull plot, they can be big or small, just some indication of the direction you’re taking your character. Will they be taken over by a Skrull at one point? Do you hope they fall in love? Are they  wrestling with inner demons that they need to face head on, once and for all? Explore your options and take your time fleshing them out in your list. Any questions or concerns, and you can contact the main. As always, major plot ideas like pregnancy or death or severe injury, should be run by admins first.

Onto part two! Once your list of plots is completed and posted with the tag ‘rebuildtask6′ it’s time to reach out to others. Read through the plots other people have come up with, and find a couple that interest you. Or if you see someone’s plot lining up with one of yours, reach out and see if you can make it work together! The point of this task is to foster a real sense of community and to help everybody move their plots forward. Don’t be afraid to ask each other questions, and keep an open mind -- maybe tweak your plots to fit with an interested party. But also remember to stay respectful. We’re all writers and adults, so if someone declines interest in your plot, that’s okay. There’s lots of us here. The main point is to have fun.

For our fifth task, and our final one of this season, we’ll be discussing how your character has evolved over the past couple of months, or if you’re new, discussing how you’d like to develop your character as Rebuild enters its second season!

This task is open to honestly open to interpretation. If you’d like to write meta about how your character has struggled and flourished, you may do that. If you’d prefer to write a drabble with them reflecting on the war, the Syndicate, the losses, the triumphs, you may do that as well. We’d simply like to see how your character has evolved from the beginning.

Your prompt is, “How has your character changed from when you first entered the roleplay, and where would you like to see them go?” There is no wrong answer to this! We, as admins, adore you all and can’t wait for the next season to begin (on Monday!)

For our fourth task, we present you with a list of questions. As ever, this task is optional, but highly encouraged. You can participate as much or as little as you like!

Answers can be as long or as short as you feel necessary. You can answer them with a drabble, with an additional graphic, or an OOC headcanon. The important thing is getting to know your character, to help with that ever-important character development! 

This task will take place over 30 days. You can do this all at once, you can skip days, you can catch up on days you missed whenever you have time. Label each answer with “Day One, Day Two,” etc. And be sure to track rebuildtask4 so you can see everyone’s posts!

Day One starts today! (June 6th.) Get writing!

What personality types does your character fall under? (MBTI, Hogwarts House, Divergent! Feel free to include any/all that you want.)

What is a significant turning point in your characters life?

Who depends on your character? Why?

Who does your character most want to please? Why?

If your character had to live in utter seclusion, what six items would they bring?

Write one headcanon.

                                                         Art is the imposing of a pattern on experience

For our second task, we thought we would do something a little more artsy. 

Today’s optional-but-encourage task comes in two parts:

Part One: Create aesthetic/mood board defining your character. Who they are. What they’re interested in. What makes them laugh or cry or feel all the feelings.

Part two: Create an aesthetic/mood board exploring your character and the person most important to them. A friend. An enemy. A family member. A boss. An idol. Whatever you feel is appropriate.

Under the cut is a template for aesthetics, and a link to tumblr blogs dedicated to mood board gifs. Either format is acceptable -- or both, if you feel inspired!

Hello everybody!

This is just your friendly neighbourhood reminder that tomorrow is the last day to send in your characters for the paragraph mashup/task! We’ll be accepting them until 3 pm PST Monday, although if you’re desperate to participate afterwards, if you message us, we may be able to set something up!

PROMPTS:

Unwilling to take anyone’s word on it, characters A and B go beyond New York City’s borders together, intent on seeing for themselves if the area is truly as desolate and dangerous as the news stations claim. While out there, they find themselves overrun by demons. Realizing they’ll never make it back to the city alive on their own, they team up with one another in the interest of escaping. Their alliance may be temporary or lead to something a little more permanent when they make it back to the city!

Character A is out passed curfew, patrolling the city. When character B stumbles upon them, they have no way of knowing what side they’re on. Panicked and already on edge thanks to the invisible threat of the demons, character B lashes out and a fight ensues. 

Intent on getting to the bottom of New York’s latest situation, character A does some investigating of their own. Somehow (maybe by freak accident, maybe through attempting to follow a demon, maybe something else), their ‘evidence’ leads them to character B’s doorstep. They might think character B is somehow involved in the chaos plaguing the city, or they may believe character B holds the secret to fixing it.

Character A has a public identity, and is well known to the world at large. When character B is attacked by demons in their home and decides they need help fighting back, they seek out character A for assistance. Depending on their personality, character A may need some convincing! 

After Doom’s proclamation of martial law, protests naturally arose. Character A is at one such protest. Character B either disagrees with the protest or does something to make character A wrongly assume that they disagree, and an argument ensues. When demons interrupt, the two characters have to put aside their differences and fend the threat off together. 

Characters A and B know each other in passing, but not very well. When they’re out after curfew and hear Doom’s police nearby, they’re forced to take shelter in the same warehouse until morning, prompting them to get to know one another a little better through a night of conversation.

For our seventh task, and the first one in a long time (our apologies!), we ask that everyone consider how their characters have developed throughout the season and where you would like them to go throughout season 3. If you’re new to the group or your character is a new addition, we ask that you instead consider where they may fit in. As always, this is completely optional! 

This task is designed as a series of questions. Please take all the time you need in order to give thoughtful answers. We tried to implement an opportunity for our members to plot with the last one as well so please make sure to respond to each other! 

How has your character developed throughout season 2? What event specifically affected them?

What important relationships changed due to the Skrull Invasion? If they were largely unaffected, do you believe anything could changed in the future?

What relationships would you like to develop throughout season 3?

Where would you like your character to go throughout season 3? Specifically, how will they react to Battleworld?

What specific plots would you like to explore during season 3? Remember, this is a great opportunity to form more connections and start arcs with each other!
