Mentor Starscream x seeker!reader (7.5/?)
Starscream drags your drunk aft home from Swerve's.
Kind of a bonus off the last installment, because I'm not done with drunk confessions lol. Part of this is channeling the idea that with someone to be responsible for, someone to keep him grounded, Starscream doesn't just fall into delusions of power, but has to retain some sense for the sake of protecting someone else.
Also inspired by jetlings. <3
Thank you for your patience! Behold, me delaying the next part with soft feelings because I'm not ready for angst:
---
Only when you're on your pedes do you realise the engex has affected you way more than you thought. You thank your lucky stars that Starscream had only made a sound of disgust at the entire situation before allowing you to more or less use him as a crutch to stay upright.
Even after leaving Swerve's, it was some time before you were actually on the road, given that it had taken some trial and error to transform into your altmode.
Fuzzily, you tried to gain a sense of your transformation mechanisms.
Okay, cockpit, you knew where that went. Wings. Okay.
Hmm.
You still had legs.
And suddenly, the world tilted. Half-transformed and woefully off-balance, the nose of your altmode tipped slowly forwards to acquaint itself with the ground. The dull thunk reached your audials before the pain actually registered.
"...Ow."
You were distantly aware of Skywarp wheezing with raspy laughter in the background.
"Come on, Screamer, you have to admit that's hilarious - ow!"
A small part of you couldn't help but feel smug about that. Still, you were in no better position, legs awkwardly out, nose in the dirt and rudders in the air.
Starscream's voice, when he kneels next to your altmode, is a little too measured. You, slowly attempting to summon a modicum of outrage, suspect he's trying for irritated but is having a bit too hard of a time holding his laughter back.
"Fuselage and landing gears, cadet."
"Nnghh."
You sluggishly try to feel for the parts of your frame that he's talking about, and something must have worked, because your nose is lifted promptly out of the dirt, allowing you to take in the exasperated expression on Starscream's faceplate. "At last. Now, spoilers out..."
--
Being towed deftly through deep space allows you a very intimate experience of how Starscream flies. He's in perfect control of both space and speed; not once does your altmode jerk awkwardly to a stop or become upended on sharp turns. Controlling your own frame is hard enough, let alone two, and impulse control be damned - you spend most of the return journey dreamily admiring one of the greatest fliers that Cybertron has ever produced. Upon landing, Starscream does allow himself a self-satisfied smile when he sees you making no effort to hide your starry-eyed gaze at him - which warps instantly into panic as you take a step towards him and immediately pitch sideways.
A flare of his thrusters is enough to propel him to your side, just managing to catch you before you eat ground for the second time that night. He's viciously muttering something about peeling Skywarp plate by plate as he tries to right you, which is when you decide to help by wrapping your arms around his middle again and refusing to let go.
"Skywarp's nice," You slur. "Don't peel him, sir. Please?"
"I- You don't- argh, fine," Is all Starscream manages to spit out before static actually garbles his vocaliser. You blessedly decide to keep quiet before he busts a fuel line. As long as you don't speak, surely hugging him tighter would be okay, right?
A choked mess of static is your response - in addition, however, to a warm servo on your shoulder, more or less dragging your frame onward to his habsuite. Thankfully no other officers were around to see you both, but you were way past caring at that point.
Starscream finally manages to heave you bodily into a seated position on the berth.
"I have work to finish," He says, wearily. "Recharge. You still have training tomorrow."
To some extent, you do know that he'd abandoned his duties to collect you from Swerve's, and he has important things to do. However, it quickly becomes apparent that you have no plans to let him go - stubbornly clinging onto him even as he tries to leave.
"Let go, cadet."
"No."
Before the irritation hits, a ripple of panic from your EM field gives him pause.
"...And dare I ask why not?"
The pause that descends is heavy. Ashamed of losing control, you sullenly burrow further into his back, between his wings.
Starscream's ex-vent reverberates through his entire frame, but he gently rotates himself in your stubborn grip so he can cradle your helm to his chassis. Gentle strokes of his servo over your wings have you sagging against him as you shutter your optics against the dizziness that fogs your processor. You shiver as he traces lightly over your aileron, over what used to be a nasty rip in your wing plating - the one which he mended himself. "Well?"
"You'll get hurt if you leave," You eventually mumble, muffled into his frame. "You always come back hurt. It's not fair."
The gentle, sweeping strokes over your wings abruptly stop. A deep, weary ex-vent.
"Life isn't fair, cadet."
"So?" You mutter. "It shouldn't be unfair to you."
Childish, yes. But you don't care. The Starscream you know doesn't deserve this. At the very least, he chuckles at that, and you can take credit for the nanoklik where your childishness lightens his burden ever so slightly. The mood, however, quickly turns somber again as your emotions get the better of you.
"What if you don't come back?"
You're acutely aware of Starscream's hesitation before he answers. You know there's some things he can't promise you, but you stubbornly refuse to believe that... there will come a moment when you hear his voice for the last time.
For now, though, it seems that Starscream is equally reluctant to leave your little universe of two.
"Don't be silly," he admonishes gently. "You think you can be rid of me so easily?"
It fills you with more relief than you'd care to admit. He is indeed resilient - he's a lot more capable than Megatron makes him out to be, and as the leader of the ex-high guard, he's no stranger to fighting for survival. You're starting to understand the scary front he puts up, because it works to an extent to quell any potential rebellions or revenge plots among the troops.
It is a front, right?
Your fuzzy processor wrests with the thought for another nanoklik before your own survival mechanisms decide to abandon the thought. He's been nothing but gentle with you, in his own prickly way - and deep down, you know this thought will lead you to a conclusion you're not sure you're ready to confront.
"They're all so scared of you," You slur. "I dunno why."
Starscream stiffens, but slowly resumes stroking your wings, carefully tracing flaps and spoilers to the tune of your humming engines. You barely manage to catch his response - perhaps he thinks you've already slipped into recharge.
"If only you knew," Starscream says quietly, sadly.
You struggle to make sense of that - you get the feeling that he's saying more than he normally would, because you're drunk out of your processor and liable to forget all that has transpired. Still, you know what you're determined to do, anyway. "'m gonna protect you. From the bad guys," You mutter. It's near incoherent, but Starscream picks it up anyway. His chuckle is raspy and indulgent.
"So what are you going to do to protect me, hm?"
"I," you declare, woozily shooting upright - you would absolutely have tipped over, had Starscream not steadied you - "will kick your enemies in the faceplate. One by one. Then they'll know not to mess with you." Never mind that you're about half Megatron's height, but it's the thought that counts.
Starscream's optics are uncharacteristically soft. "Next time we have an opening in battle, I'll leave the grand finale to you, then."
"Mmhmm," you mumble. "It'll be good."
At some point, you'd been carefully laid down on the berth - good thing too, because warnings of an imminent shutdown keep flashing on your HUD, and you drowsily decide to be good because Starscream has seemingly abandoned his work in favour of lying down beside you.
"You can do that in the morning. For now, I think it's time for recharge, don't you?"
"Okay," you murmur, scooting closer to him. "Doing my job."
"And what would that be?"
"I'm a seeker. I seek warmth."
You bask in the laughter that rumbles through Starscream's chassis as he tucks you close, and you finally slip into a dreamless recharge.

hi. so. third ask (is this even an ask)
i'm very excited for ch27/28 but for some reason i'm looking forward to op going back and ratchet yelling his shit out a lot too
r: "I did NOT push off recharge making a vial of FAKE TRANSFLUID for you to frag the slagmaker himself not even a day later!"
o: "...right. the vial."
r: "PRIME-"
he needs a vacation pls i hope he gets a happy ending with drift 😭
also sort of connected to this ask ig. what if the recharge op ordered him to do made him so tired he didn't put up the blockers and he ended up having hot steamy forbidden sex with drift 👀
Oh, the outline I have for their conversation come Optimus' return to base and how Ratchet approaches the conversation—personally, I think it's hilarious! Ratchet is, rightfully so, going to flip! Truly, Ratchet deserves a vacation.
Well, if Deadlock was asleep at the same time and Ratchet didn't put up any blockers and proper firewalls to keep him out, then they would've ended up sharing a headspace. But if Deadlock wasn't recharing, then Ratchet would have gotten a peaceful recharge alone.

28|02|2024
Tis time for an update because in the past few days I have felt very overwhelmed. It's been an intense couple of days made of big decisions. After a very emotional session with my therapist and talking with my parents I came to the conclusion that the healtest thing to do now is to take a break from studying and try to recover from this burn out. I decided to drop out from my class, I will take the exam with more materials like people who don't follow lectures, and I will be doing that in the future. I am now going to take the next month to rest and not study, and after this pause I will plan my next moves and exams. I will have to fight my guilt response a bit but this is truly the only thing I can do to mend my health right now. Hopefully taking this month off will get me back on my feet because I am not in a great place right now. To avoid making this update too negative here are some happy things that happened in the past few days:
met the two tiny goats my uncle got, got to cuddle one and she fell asleep in my arms
had a lovely walk in the woods which felt very healing
redescovered cross stitch embroidery as an hobby and it's sparking so much joy
had a trip to the bookstore with my mom and got a couple of graphic novels
talked to the professor of the class I am dropping out of and she was extremely comprehensive and offered so much help in case I will need any
had yet another friend date that was very recharing
helped my brother with painting walls at his place

winter of our youth
[prologue _ ao3]
hour four
A heavy stream of light enters through the window, aligning seamlessly across your face as it forces spent eyes open. A strong bleariness is apparent as your cheek pulls from where it was previously nestled on crossed arms, a slight trail of drool cascading across your sleeve. Confusion consumes you first, looking hazily around the room to find the source that roused such deep sleep. It wasn’t immediately obvious, taking in the state of the room before your gaze dips, ears picking up the stuttered noises just below your vision.
An unsteady leer drops distastefully only to find your phone vibrating across the desk, a persistent caller ignoring your voicemail and redialing once again.
A steady ache shoots up your spine and spans out to sore shoulders internally alerting you that you had slept here, hunched over in the desk chair with the computer screen now dimmed out. Swiping the wooziness from your eyes and lifting the phone, you numbly answer the call with maximum effort.
“You're late. I've been attempting to reach you for nearly two cycles now,” No hello, though in such a sleepy state, that’d be a fight you weren’t prepared for. “It is well past late morning, what happened?”
You blink twice, glower now drifting to the clock that resides just next to your monitor. Believing there is a genuine possibility that you’re still dreaming, it makes bushed sense to rub at your eyelids as if it would change the time that winked back at you.
“y/n?” Magnus drawls, dare you say a flicker of worry flaring in his tone. “Are you still there?”
“That's the time-!?” Jumping from your chair, you nearly plummet forward as you fumble over to the dresser in search of your work uniform. “I fucking fell asleep at my desk and forgot to set my alarm!”
On the other end of the line, Magnus relaxes, though only slightly as vast perplexity consumes him on a hasty secondary note. You were alright, though after one worry is relieved, another replaces it faster than he can account for.
“How could that have happened?” He is being no help, so after switching him onto speakerphone, you toss the device onto the bed, scrambling around the room. “I thought after our conversation concluded last, you were going to get some rechar-sleep,”
It felt awkward to tell him the truth, but in such a frenzied state, it was all that tumbled from your lips until you caught yourself. “I couldn’t sleep, I was up looking for…doing some research.” Hopping into a pair of slacks, you skimmed the area looking for your left shoe. “I must’ve dozed off and didn’t realize.”
That wasn’t such a concrete lie, you were doing some research, but not of the kind he would immediately think when mentioned. Endless internet searches of ‘talking alien robots that turn into trucks’ vetted into sketchy conspiracy websites with blurry pictures, and comment sections of unknown users retelling insincere stories.
You boldly assumed they were faux, only due to your first-hand experience, but it was clear that Magnus didn’t have four arms and two heads.
After falling down a rabbit hole that stretched too cavernous, fathomless enough that time fell too far out of reach. It was foolish to think that a simple search would turn up your countless questions, but the restlessness persisted and an unsatisfied feeling loitered.
It wasn’t necessarily Magnus that was keeping you awake, but the tossing and turning was partial to the situation you’ve found yourself in. The intention started to do some investigating for that communication device, yet your searches conflicted as the hours peeled away, wanting to know more without having to ask the source.
“What time are you required to arrive for your shift?” Throwing a shirt over your head, hands poke through the sleeves as you duck into the bathroom to hurriedly brush your teeth.
“M’supposed to be there in twelve minutes!” You call around your toothbrush, spotting the shoe sticking out from under your bed. “S’fine, but this catch-up is gonna have to wait until later!”
“Nonsense. I am about three kliks from your habsuite, I will be there shortly.” You go to argue, a protest building on your tongue, but he beats you to it. “I will get you there on time. I was patrolling the area.”
Magnus wouldn’t reveal that he was near your place because every ring went slowly to voicemail, stress increasing steadily with each unanswered attempt. You didn’t owe him the call, it wasn’t a promise, but it appeared to be a mutual agreement, and that troubled feeling never left him as hard as he tried to ignore it.
As much as he’d like to persuade himself it was a coincidence, he offhandedly decided to patrol within a sector of town conveniently close to your home. You could have simply forgotten, already arrived at work, or called in early, yet he couldn’t quiet that nerve, especially when he had no idea where your occupation was located. He could have unassumingly driven past just to catch a glimpse of your vehicle, and it would satiate the rising fear that coated his chassis.
It just appeared easiest to lie, not that he expected anything more from you than what you originally sworn, yet he also vowed to keep you safe. Uneasiness overcame him, and while he couldn’t quite say why, it could be blamed on the evidence that whatever lurked in those woods was still on the hunt.
“I can’t ask you to do that,” Rounding your bed, you snatch the missing shoe up before sliding it on. “I’ll just hope that every light is green. I will call you on my break, okay?”
“I am already on your street.” He counters, and you can practically hear his engine rumbling readily as if to prove his point even further. There was no trying to persuade him, nor to start an argument, Magnus had made up his mind and yours, evidently. “I shall see you outside.”
Magnus ends the call, leaving you standing inelegantly in the middle of the room with a perplexed look overcoming tired features. You don’t allow it another thought, needing all the seconds to spare as your fingers grab the strap of the backpack just beside the door, nearly sliding down the hallway to not leave him waiting.
“You didn’t have to,” You breathe, hauling yourself into his cabin, finding he was outside, just as pledged. “Also, hi.”
“Good afternoon.” He could be rubbing more salt into your wound, but you pass it by as a simple honest greeting, knowing he’s not one to make fun. “I undoubtedly did. You were doing something on my behalf, I am partially to blame.”
“It’s not…your fault. I couldn’t sleep,” The landscape bleeds by as he continues down the street, only after rattling off the address of your job. “I fell asleep at my desk. I was being irresponsible; I should have at least set my alarms.”
“I have often done the same. Back on-” Magnus stops himself as if realizing what he was going to say, a hitch to his voice box droning before continuing. “Before here. It is a common, and sometimes unavoidable occurrence.”
Adjusting your hair in the rearview mirror, you nod once, a bout of questions lodging swiftly in your throat. “Guess we’re not all that different.”
“I believe in most aspects our mannerisms and psychological tendencies align dissonantly well. In a broad retrospect,” That is somewhat comforting, though you don’t know if he’s saying it for avowal or reassurance. The mirror tilts, just enough that you can tell he's studying you warily. “Though, you do not look well rested, even if you did undertake some.”
The last time you can recall the clock was roughly four in the morning, but you aren’t even sure that’s when you eventually crashed. “Can’t say that I did,” A pause, unsure of where your thoughts were going. “It’s okay. I’ll recoup the lost hours tonight.”
“You are overworked.” It’s apprehension, and not presented condescendingly. “I fear that I am only adding to that burden.”
You laugh, an amused snort following shortly after. “I have a hard time sleeping sometimes, but this was entirely my mistake. Not yours, nor is it for you to worry about. I appreciate the concern, but I promise, I’m good.”
“I am not versed in organic well-being, yet that sounds extremely detrimental.” He recesses, as if expecting you to argue or disagree, but his bravery declines when you do not. “You were adamant about my recharge, yet you are neglecting your own health.”
“That’s what energy drinks are for,” The joke only seemed natural to insert, but Magnus nearly recoiled at your spontaneous quip.
He’d be a major hypocrite for lecturing you on prioritizing work over essential respite, but something twists uneasily in his chassis at the overall mistreatment of your systems. He passes the fault to his natural reaction to protect, to be the defender of the innocent in all this mess, but there’s a nagging feeling that’s not quite the key, at least the most honest one.
“I have seen advertisements for those,” He gravels, stifling that sensitivity back down. “Just by that, I understand they have no benefits and are likely more harmful than actually assisting for anything.”
“Caffeine is a cheap drug.” You shrug, a bit unresponsive to why he appeared to mind so much, though he did have good intentions despite his sudden boldness. Having argued back and forth about his health, perhaps he felt he needed to be wise to yours, not wanting to scorch your eagerness out so hastily.
Or imaginably this was an implausible friendship that was forming, unable to recall a time when a relationship like this had felt so easygoing, so encouraging, conversations casual and not forced. Magnus favored your company for some reason unbeknownst to you, and you couldn’t say that you didn’t sanction his as well.
“You are young.” He says, unbothered. “But you are not impolitic. After your shift, I am insisting that you get some rest.”
“Sure.” Unable to resist the urge to roll your eyes, you extend the sentiment candidly. "This is a short stretch, I should be out early. Well, earlier than normal."
"At what time?"  Leaving no room for you to oppose his insistence once more, he presses onwards without missing a beat. "I will be here when you have completed your tasks."
You still object, a bit mesmerized that he'd gotten you there with nearly two minutes to spare but never speeding, almost successfully cutting the commute in half. "No. Thank you, but we are going to reconvene on Saturday, and I'm going to call you when I get home tonight."
"And I disagree."  And for some reason, you understand that he's leaving no room for further discussion of the topic. "I would not have offered if I did not mean it."
A cruel twist of your own words against you, a sigh slipping forward instead of another protest. "Fine…I’ll be done around seven-thirty. If you can't though, seriously, I'll just walk."
"Do tell me what other agenda I might have. I find myself heavily reliant on you, y/n, I cannot do much more without your assistance." He's complimenting you in some roundabout but kind way, enough that a smile flickers to your lips.
"Maybe you got some bad guys to fight," The door pops, not in full sweeping motion this time, your guess is to hide the fact that there is no driver. "I don't know. I'd love to know what you do in your free time."
"Stare at the wall." And for some reason, you don't think he's joking, partially because he has yet to fall victim to humor.
You falter, some guilt seeping into your tone. "Don't...do that. Go for a drive or something, but do me a favor, try to relax." You stand as the seatbelt retracts, slipping from his cabin and descending to the sidewalk. "I'll see you in a few hours."
Do me a favor. Words echo into his soundless cabin, the silence suddenly more deafening when your voice isn't there. He should be accustomed to the quietude, thankful for it even, but somehow, it troubled him more than it soothed. He has nothing to compare your offhand altruism to, unsure if it is just customary to humanity or if you're finally starting to come around to his certainly overwhelming presence. A success, nonetheless, though it would be one kept entirely to himself.
Magnus observes your form trudge up the concrete stairs, quite obviously disconsolate about attending work, as you mentioned the previous rotation about how it 'sucked.' Magnus slackens the rigidity in his frame as he catches your small fingers around the doorknob, going to pull away, understanding that you are now safe among your co-workers.
The strength and reassurance leave his wheels break rather harshly against the concrete, noticing you throw a short wave over your shoulder, the same you had presented to him the other night. The formality was beginning to throw him for a loop, half wondering if you assumed he lingered behind for a specific reason other than to ensure you got into the building without harm.
He drives off, mildly startled as the continuous thought passes him by of how he was going to explain this to the other Autobots, once he undoubtedly rejoined them. He had pushed the conception away many times, forcing it down for deliberation later on, but as the pieces began to fall together, he was faced with a dilemma he could not even begin to expound.
He'd broken the first rule, Ultra Magnus, the living definition of 'by the book,' shattered that notion the second he shouldered himself between you and whatever had been previously pursuing you through the dense forest. Powerless to overcome the idea of leaving to allow an innocent to succumb to a disastrous fate, it appeared simplest to present himself in his bipedal form, and for a reason unknown to him at the time, that horrified you more.
It is rational and undemanding to recognize that he isn't owed an explanation for your distress, let alone a reason for traversing such greenery in an unfathomable storm, but it would quiet the many queries he's gathered. He isn't afraid to ask, but uncertainty remains if inquiring would set him back to square one in your relationship.
Did that matter so much if it did? For some reason, backtracking didn't sound as enticing as it may have a few days ago.
Shoving the rising yet unavoidable problem aside only presented him with another, doing as you recommended and patrolling a sector of town he had yet to traverse. The time passed slipped away as if it was never really there to begin with, as he started reneging toward the now saved address as the sun began to set beyond the horizon. There was much more to plan and strategize now that he had a method to all these jumbled issues, liking the new idea of order brought to the table.
All the previous satisfaction that had consumed him was stolen in the blink of an eye, not liking the look adorned on a weary face as you sat glumly on the curb. Chin in your hands, your gaze remains downcast, clearly lost in thought, deep enough that when he rolled forward to meet you, it took a handful of seconds even to recognize his presence. Once you do, the most counterfeit smile he's ever seen adorns rosy cheeks, shaking the stiffness from your shoulders as if to store it away for a few minutes.
"y/n?" He echoes, confused at such a blatant switch-up, and wondering why you were outside so prematurely to the previously set time. "Whatever is the matter?"
"Hi." Your lips purse, stifling something as you stand off the curb, gait languid until you reach the passenger door. Entirely bypassing his question, you instead respire one of your own. "Did you enjoy your drive?"
"Do not disregard my initial inquiry." The air is different, negativity rolling in as you all but slump into the seat.
"I don't wanna talk about it," It's choked out as if you couldn't outright believe the lie yourself. "But my shift was slow, I found out what cord we need."
He doesn't want to drop it, persistence rising in his processor, but you won't even look his way in the rearview mirror. "Very well. If you wish to discuss it at a later time..."
Empathy and perceptions of others' emotions were not something he had mastered, but he was no ignoramus in apprehending you were clearly troubled by something that occurred. While he could not comfort you, lest not in a way that would be productive, opting to be the listener for once could perhaps ease some of your worries.
"Thanks." Voice horse, he watches your nose wrinkle as your gaze remains glued to the window.
"And what information did you discover?" He tries, clicking the seatbelt across your waist before he turns his engine over.
"It's a USB type two port, it fits a fairly common cord." Another coup, but he cannot bring himself to be happy about it. "I can pick one up Saturday, and we can only hope it fixes your doohickey."
"Well done." Magnus answers, ostensibly bothered by your disconnect. "Your success is fortifying, though you do not share the gaiety of the achievement."
Your arms cross, and then your top teeth sink uncomfortably into the skin of your bottom lip. Slowly, you unfurl, allowing emotions that have been stifled for far too long to free, but careful not to divulge yourself entirely. "Just a...shitty day." Glassy eyes meet the mirror, catching your disheveled appearance staring back. "Y'know, I normally deal with this stuff by myself. It's not a dig at you, I mean, I locked myself in the storeroom on my fifteen-minute break to do some research on my phone."
"You do not owe me an explanation, but consider discussing it now and then. If not with myself, then with another." A discontinue, as if he's reconsidering what he's going to say. "Take it from a mech who keeps a lot stored away. It is counterproductive to keep it to yourself, and I have no doubt that is the ailment to why you have trouble recharging."
He's a lot more approachable than when you'd first met him, with an airiness of compassion circling his words. He was comforting you, a feat that initially appeared furthest from reach, but it was growing more pronounced that the two of you shared a lot more in common than in a passing glance.
Startled by your chuckle, he fears he's said something unforgiving until you continue, a little more forbearing. "Thank you, Mags. And I mean it."
"Please, y/n do not start." He's all but stalled, unimpressed by the new nickname. "Though I am pleased to see you in slightly better spirits."
"Me too." You implore, a soft smile twitching free.

- Durma, meu filho.

For day 10 of the event, I used the word ‘bonfires’ from prompt 16 for the Scepter 4 members from K Project. Just getting some practice writing for these lovelies and I hope you’ll all enjoy the headcanons!
Bonfires: Do you prefer going out or staying in on a fall evening?
For the large majority of Scepter 4, they’re going to be staying in on a fall evening kind of people. Yayoi, Zenjou, Enomoto, Kamo, Benzai, Akiyama, and Seri all would prefer to stay in on fall evenings, for the most part, and all for their own reasons.
Yayoi is someone shy, who generally prefers to stay in anyway. She’ll enjoy fall evenings best curled up with her kitty cat, a hot beverage, and a good romance novel.
Zenjou is another introvert who doesn’t often go out and about, even in warmer weather. He trains a lot of evenings, and when he isn’t training or working, he finds autumn evenings lovely to just sit outside with a hot cup of tea, looking out at the stars and the moon and meditating on things in his life.
Enomoto is the last of the group of Scepter 4 introverts who don’t often go out on the town for evenings, no matter the season. He’s perfectly content, if he doesn’t have to work, with staying in by himself. Normally, there’s always a game he’s working on. He likes curling up and falling into some other world, playing the hero inside the game. It’s a great fantasy and he’ll have snacks nearby and lots of canned juice so that he doesn’t really have to move around too much. It’s just peaceful and relaxing and comfortable, even if he knows it’s boring to most people.
If they’re not working evenings, you can usually find Benzai and Akiyama together on chill fall evenings. They’ll talk together, as the two are quite close friends, and often play shoji and chess on those cold evenings when there’s not much to do. A hot bath and early bedtime makes up most of their fall evenings.
Both of the remaining two find fall evenings perfect for indulging in a hobby they both enjoy – cooking. Seri finds fall always puts her in the mood for baking and she’ll spend chilly evenings with a glass of wine, some good music, and time in the kitchen. She will make lots and lots of desserts, which she will of course encourage the rest of Scepter 4’s members to eat their fill of them, much to the other members chagrin.
Kamo, meanwhile, often finds the chillier fall nights make him want to retreat into the comfort and peace of the kitchen as well. His cooking is met with a lot better reactions from Scepter 4’s members.
That, of course, leaves Hidaka, Fuse, Andy, Fushimi, and Munakata as the ones who prefer to be out on fall evenings. They all enjoy doing different things on those evenings for the most part, though.
Hidaka is still a young guy and a very extroverted one. He likes to be out on dates as often as he possibly can and fall evenings leave some wonderful potential dates. Even if he’s not out on a date, he likes to hit the town, grab a bite, do some shopping, maybe go to the bar, anything to get him out of the stuffy atmosphere of work and around normal people. Andy also does this as often as he can, with the added bonus that Andy is a huge Halloween freak and he’ll spend autumn evenings trying to find all the newest Halloween decorations and displays.
Fuse, no matter the season, is someone who prefers to get a break from the workplace and atmosphere. Getting out on the town gives him some much needed time to himself and he can always find something to occupy himself. He doesn’t have many friends, but the few he does have are old friends from childhood, and he likes to get together on evenings off with them at least once every couple of weeks, catch up on each other’s lives.
Munakata and Fushimi are both people who enjoy long walks on fall evenings. Fushimi finds that he gets really antsy, restless, and uncomfortable if he has to be around people too long and unfortunately Scepter 4 is way too full of people. He needs his solitude and his time to himself to recharge and long walks help him. He might be out in a place full of people, but those people don’t want anything from him, they don’t need him to do anything, most of them won’t even speak to him, and there’s a great comfort in that for Fushimi. He likes to take walks through the busy sections of the city. Munakata, on the other hand, finds nature really peaceful and he loves the changing of the leaves. He’ll enjoy long evening walks through parks on autumn evenings.

Juuust venting.
Idk. I don't even expect ppl to read this, it's okay, I'm fine literally just typing it out for the sake of typing it out cuz I don't have anyone I can chat about it with.
But I'm 30 years old, disabled and living with my mom and things have gone from weird to bad to worse and idk what to do about it. I can't get a job, I can't work, I can't seem to qualify for disability. I can't seem to do anything.
My mom is a good kind person in so many things. But idk. I think she really genuinely didn't think that me moving in with her would be permanent. I think she just assumed I'd get it together and get a job and leave again. I was always the most self sufficient kid. I moved away! I was doing good! So it seemed from a distance anyways.
Now it's like, every day she's just MAD that I just can't do things. She gets mad that I'm forgetful or that my spoons are like 0 all the time. She gets mad that I'm not magically clearing the entire property by myself or I'm not building all these things or doing all these things. She just gets mad mad mad that I don't function. I think it just confuses her? Or scares her? Idk. And she'll weaponize my disability in this really weird way. She'll say things like "well if you're really THAT disabled maybe I should hire a baby sitter for you because you can't be trusted to be alone." Literally. And when I say no, that's weird I don't need that - it OF COURSE means I must just be lying about how bad everything else is!
I don't have anywhere else to go. I have one single friend in the universe and things are always kinda tense with her too. She's offered to let me come stay in her shed, haha. Her husbands a contractor so that's not as bad as it sounds. He'd make it nice and functional. But it would ruin our relationship.
It's not sustainable to just couch hop, I can feel kind people thinking of typing out an offer - but lbr, that's just not sustainable. I'm not going to magically get better. I'm not temporarily out of work. It's not just for until I get things "figured out". I need a permanent solution.
So I'm genuinely thinking of just refurbishing my truck and putting a mattress in the back and buying a recharable solar battery and a fancy bucket and going on the road. It's an old truck (almost 300K miles!! YES you read that right!! Old ass work truck!! but it runs really well and is stupid sturdy). And maybe just living off the cash assistance I get from the government and camping? I like to camp, I like being outside. And maybe I just sleep in my truck in parking lots and then for a few nights of the week stay at a campsite to freshen up?
Lots of people do it, so I know it's doable. It'd be hard to give up creature comforts like plumbing and really (I know this is dumb but) my computer. I like video games haha, it's one of my fav past times. I know my bigger hold ups should be like, security and warmth and shit. But still. I have so much time and energy put into these stupid pixels it's hard to imagine giving that up.
And my animals! I'd have to sell my goats, probably just give my chickens to my neighbors. And even though it's literally so so irresponsible, I'm taking my fucking dog. I've had to give up one dog previously because I was temporarily homeless and couldn't find a rentable space that was pet friendly. And I swore I'd never do it again. Plus - even though it's irresponsible and her food costs easily 80 bucks a month - I actually think I'd be a lot safer with her with me. And less alone. I think she'd love it, tbh. I don't think this would permanently burn bridges with my mom. She'd be mad, but if I called her and said Dahlia's sick I need money for a vet she'd give it to me. And if she wouldn't, my friend would and they have money to spare. So I actually think, out of everything that's not that big of a gamble. I have a safety net for her. And I'm good at doing yearly shots myself etc. So it's just emergencies, food and 3 year rabies shots I can't do myself.
Another reason I'm spitballing all this here is it's not for sure. Hopefully it doesn't come to this. But my mom and I have been fighting relentlessly and there's no end in sight. She's like, mad that I'm here. And comes home mad that I'm here. It's exhausting and it's not going to get magically better. She bought this property and is now throwing it in my face like I'm the one who forced her to do it. She's terrified she won't be able to retire and is blaming me for it. I don't want to be a burden and she clearly doesn't want me to be one anymore either and idk who else I can ask. Who else can I INFLICT my existence on to? This is why disabled people end up in abusive relationships and then stay. What are the fucking options? I'm so grateful I have my physical health and am able to even think of taking such a physically demanding option.
So it's like a 30% chance it comes to this. I'll try and just adjust and put up with things being weird and toxic because that's better than shitting in a bucket in the walmart parking lot. For now.

Next step
Overall: YIKES. This looks scary at first but don't worry I'll spell it out! Currently you are being held back by your own desires and indulgences. Remember that breaks are for recharing energy to go forward, not to stall. This could also be a very physical aspect, something that pertains to your body or mindset. Something that is bad for you but you keep doing it anyway. Where you're going looks like you are going to end up at zero soon. The end of your limit on whatever this "devil" is. Think about what your life would look like without the "devil". Make sure that there are still people who support you before taking a leap of faith. Next Step is to start over. Whatever this "devil" is has taken control of your life. You may feel on top of the world but the Tower is going to bring you down with it. Everything is going to fall apart and that's good because what was happening before wasn't working. Soon will be your time to be reborn and start over fresh!

Pushing Limits: Superior Battery Electric Scooters for Long-Distance Travel
In recent years, electric scooters have evolved from curiosity devices to realistic personal transportation solutions. With growing worries about carbon emissions, fuel prices, and traffic congestion, battery electric scooters (e-scooters) have gained favor as environmentally responsible modes of transportation. While early models were best suited for short city trips, recent improvements have pushed the boundaries, ushering in a new era of best e scooter capable of handling long-distance travel with ease.
The Rise of Long-Range Electric Scooters
Historically, e-scooters had one major limitation: range. Most early scooters could only travel 10 to 15 miles per charge, limiting their usefulness to quick errands or short commuting. However, with developments in lithium-ion battery technology, energy-efficient motors, and clever control systems, manufacturers are now manufacturing high-performance e-scooters geared for long-distance riding.
Scooters like the Meraki Premium, XE1, XE2, and Z2 have been game changers. These machines are more than just city tools; they are designed for range, speed, and stability, ranging from 60 to over 100 miles on a single battery charge.
Key Features of Superior Long-Distance E-Scooters
To stand out in the long-distance category, best e scooter must meet high performance standards across multiple features:
1. Long-Lasting Battery Capacity
The battery is at the heart of every best electric scooter. Long-distance scooters often have batteries that range from 1500Wh to over 3000Wh. These high-capacity packs make use of premium lithium-ion cells, such as those made by LG or Samsung, which are well-known for their longevity and energy density.
A larger battery does more than just increase range; it also delivers constant power output at high speeds or on inclines. Some models also include regenerative braking, which charges the battery while slowing down.
2. High-Powered Motors
Scooters require powerful motors to handle extended journeys, particularly over varied terrain. Long-range models now commonly have dual motor sets (front and rear), with peak power ranging from 2000 to 6000 watts. This assures quick acceleration, excellent hill-climbing ability, and improved performance under load.
Tumblr media
3. Comfortable Ride Quality
Spending hours on a scooter requires comfort. Long-range versions prioritize suspension systems with hydraulic or spring shocks, wide decks for improved stance, and ergonomic handlebars. Air-filled or tubeless tires are standard, which helps to smooth out bumps and reduce fatigue.
4. Durable Build and Design
The scooter's robust frames, manufactured of aircraft-grade aluminum or steel, ensure it can survive the strains of extended rides. Water resistance (usually rated IPX5 or higher) is also required when biking in inclement weather.
5. Smart Features
Modern scooters feature computerized dashboards, ride modes, cruise control, app connectivity, and GPS tracking. These capabilities improve the user experience by allowing riders to evaluate their performance, battery health, and other factors throughout extended rides.
Benefits of Long-Range E-Scooters
Choosing a superior long-distance e-scooter offers a host of advantages:
Cost Efficiency
While the initial prices are greater, long-range scooters significantly reduce transportation costs. You avoid fuel expenditures, car maintenance, and parking fees, and charging with electricity is substantially less expensive than using gasoline.
Sustainability
Electric scooters India create no emissions and have a lower carbon footprint than vehicles or motorcycles. The increased use of scooters has a significant influence on urban air quality and carbon emissions.
Time Savings
In congested areas, e-scooters can save time by avoiding traffic, accessing bike lanes, and parking conveniently. Longer ranges allow customers to accomplish entire day journeys without needing to recharge.
Freedom and Flexibility
Long-distance e-scooters offer unequaled independence for commuting to work, running errands, or enjoying a gorgeous ride. You're no longer limited to public transportation schedules or ride-hailing applications.

Legal Restrictions: The speed and power limits vary by location. Always verify local rules before making a purchase.
Charging Time: Larger batteries take longer to charge—sometimes over 10 hours. Fast-charging alternatives might help save downtime.
Conclusion
As technology advances, electric scooters are no longer merely last-mile solutions; they are viable long-distance vehicles. Riders who invest in a high-quality battery electric scooter get more than simply convenience; they also embrace a sustainable, efficient, and thrilling mode of transportation.

i got that very romantic fight scene with lae'zel during my multiplayer game today 🥰🥰🥰
Tumblr media
here's my gaming partner's guy, Rechar, and Karlach standing there watching Jayke and Lae'zel have their weird little courting fight in the middle of camp while everyone is trying to sleep.
Jayke won, but only because he was hogging the potions and Lae'zel had none.
