+ Festival date
Since coming to life in 2005, the Grammy Award-nominated act IN THIS MOMENT has presided over a diehard fan base under the watch of "mother" figure and frontwoman Maria Brink — joined by co-founder and lead guitarist Chris Howorth, bassist Travis Johnson, guitarist Randy Weitzel and drummer Kent Diimmel. As millions convened upon the group's otherworldly and unforgettable concerts, they quietly emerged as one of the most influential and impactful bands of the 21st century.
To date, in addition to the gold-selling album "Blood" (2012),the quintet has garnered six gold and platinum singles, followed by a trifecta of Top 25 entries on the Billboard 200 with "Black Widow" (2014) and "Ritual" (2017). With a total stream tally well past 200 million as of 2020, "Ritual" elevated them to new creative and critical peaks as well. Between selling out headline tours coast to coast, the group performed in arenas everywhere alongside DISTURBED and appeared at countless festivals from Lollapalooza to Sonic Temple. Along the way, they assembled their seventh full-length, the aptly titled "Mother" (Roadrunner Records) with longtime trusted collaborator Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH). Whereas "Ritual" hinted at a bluesy sonic sorcery, "Mother" breathes the activating mantra of an unbreakable spell, commenced on first single "The In-Between".
In 2022, the band released "Blood 1983" (BMG),a reimagined EP commemorating the tenth anniversary of "Blood". Then in 2023, the longtime staples of heavy music released their eighth studio album "Godmode" (BMG),a 10-song record featuring the powerful lead single "The Purge", the band's stunning cover of Björk's "Army Of Me", the collaborative track "Damaged" which features Spencer Charnas of ICE NINE KILLS, and "I Would Die For You", which appears on the soundtrack for "John Wick: Chapter 4".
IN THIS MOMENT recently joined forces with a new label, Better Noise Music, and is working on new music.

So @/Sharjamon on Twitter (@sharjo on tumblr!) created this awesome chart about the 1000 Day Club (every League champion that has ever gone 1000 days without receiving a skin). I re-sorted the chart a little because I was curious. Images and fun facts below (long post!):
Sharjo's original chart is on the left, my version is on the right. Theirs is ordered by the length of time spent in the club. I was curious how this tied into how long the champion had been in the game, so mine is ordered by the length of time since the champion's release.
Sharjo also made this huge thread detailing EVERY champion who's ever been in the 1,000 day club, when it happened, and for how long. I would share this on Twitter but I had a lot of interesting things to talk about and didn't want to deal with the character limit.
First, some cool things that Sharjo pointed out:
Skarner has spent the most time in the 1000 day club. He's entered it 3 times and spent a total of 4,560 days waiting for skins (that counts the entire time between skins, not just the amount of days after his club entry).
Zilean is at the second most with 4258 days in the club. He was the first champion to ever enter the club (founding member!) and he has also been there 3 times.
Urgot holds the record for the single longest time period any champion has spent in the club at 2,369 days, between the releases of Battlecast (03/05/2012) and High Noon (08/30/2018).
Yorick is next, with 2,295 days between Pentakill (06/21/2011) and Arclight (10/02/2017). This was the longest period of time a champion had to wait to receive their first post-release skin.
Alistar is the champion who entered the club with the highest total number of skins at 14 (although he's one of the oldest champions in the game, so he's had a long time to accumulate them).
Xin Zhao is poised to become the newest member of the club, as he currently sits at 891 days (since Firecracker) and is not receiving a skin during the Anima Squad event. It would be his first time :(
And some neat things I noticed:
Out of the original 40 champions from League of Legends' release on 10/27/2009, 27 have made it to the 1000 day club, 1 was a near miss (Tryndamere), and 12 have never been in it.
Ornn is the "youngest" (most recently released) champion to enter the 1000 day club at 2510 days since his release on 08/22/2017. In other words, no champion released after that has gone to the 1000 day club.
Miss Fortune has the most skins of any champion who's ever been in the 1000 day club at 20 (this includes Admiral Battle Bunny Miss Fortune). She's currently tied with Ezreal for most skins overall. Her 1000 day club induction was between 2011 and 2014, between Crime City and Arcade.
Every champion with 12 or more skins was released in 2012 or earlier save for Lucian, Jinx, Thresh, and Yasuo (2013 releases).
Here's a chart I made comparing champion release dates to the number of skins they have! One with just data points and one with the names of each champion. Click for better resolution.
As always thank you for listening to me ramble about League :) go check out Sharjo's posts if you're on Twitter!

Unmaintained dependencies
A recent online discussion made me think about all the open-source software (OSS) I use regularly and in particular how much of it might be no longer maintained.
My curiosity was piqued. I decided to list my software dependencies with the dates their last-known releases. Here are the ones that are more than a year old:
2010-05-20 jmf v2.1.1e 2012-01-11 imgscalr-lib v4.2 2013-01-25 org.apache.commons.io v2.4 2021-02-13 junit4 v4.13.2 2022-01-11 jcommander v1.82 2022-04-05 lemur v1.16.0 2022-04-05 lemur-props v1.2.0 2022-04-05 lemur-proto v1.13.0 2022-04-24 Bullet v3.2.5 2023-01-26 sim-math v1.6.0 2023-11-02 jmh v0.7.2 2024-01-01 commons-exec v1.4.0 2024-01-28 jinput v2.0.10 2024-02-29 de.undercouch.download v5.6.0 2024-04-08 actions-gh-pages v4.0.0
While there are many reasons a project might not publish a release for 12 months, it seems to me a valid cause for concern.

Unit 6 Project Proposal
Candidate Name lucian
Candidate Number
Pathway computer Games Design and Development Year 2
Project Title King Midas and the Thief
Section 1: Rationale
(approx. 150 words)
For this project I have decided to explore the process of animations made specifically with motion capture software. The aim of this project is to gain understanding and skills in this area, such as how to use motion capture software with rigged skeletons and implementing this into unreal engine to be used in a game. I will also be looking into different motion capture software to see how they work differently and what would be better to use. This also means i'll be looking at what software produces the best skeleton that is most compatible with other skeletal rigs
Section 2: Project Concept
(approx. 250 words)
My concept is a game that uses motion capture from a kinect using the product to be animations for a non built game even though i have not made a game for this the animations are going to revolve around that idea - For the project i plan to develop motion capture, To produce a technical showroom that uses the unreal engines render program, My theme - The animation showroom will focus on human movement and interaction, the animations will incorporate movements inspired by The film Indiana jones, this also takes inspiration from military and combat situations like reloading, shooting even just the looks, i plan to create a minimum of 10 fully animated and rigged assets - the based game that will influence this is going to be zombie themed from the using of items or the interactions

This song was originally released as a joint digital single (arranged by Yuasa Kouichi) by Berryz Koubou and C-ute for their joint stage play Sengoku Jieitai, which later got remade as a Berryz-only musical. However, both groups later released a physical copy of the song in their respective albums (Berryz’s album arrangement was by Uesugi Hiroshi and C-ute’s by Takahashi Yuichi), hence the sheer number of credit tags.

Last year, Chromatics released their new album Closer to Grey. The album was dubbed the band’s “seventh” album. Their 2012 album Kill for Love was their fifth, and, with a new announcement today, it looks like Johnny Jewel just might finally release the album he’s been teasing for over five years: Dear Tommy.
Tonight, a new tracklist for Dear Tommy has been revealed. The album features unheard versions of the three songs that have been previously released (“Just Like You,” “Dear Tommy,” and “Time Rider”). Every other song is thus far unreleased. Find the tracklist below. Dear Tommy still doesn’t have an official release date.
A Johnny Jewel–directed video for a new song called “Teacher” has also been shared.
The Dear Tommy timeline stretches back for over half a decade. The album was first announced in December 2014 with the promise that it would arrive in the coming months. Several songs from the album’s first tracklist were promised in the years following the initial announcement.
Then, in 2017, it was announced that the album had been scrapped entirely. Jewel’s manager at the time claimed that Jewel had destroyed every physical copy of Dear Tommy after going through a near-death experience. It was also claimed that Jewel completely re-recorded the project. At one point, Dear Tommy was given a fall 2018 release date.
In addition to Closer to Grey and the individual singles from Dear Tommy, Johnny Jewel has been busy working on the upcoming Desire album. He also helped soundtrack David Lynch’s most recent season of Twin Peaks. Recently, Johnny Jewel shared an Angel Olsen remix.
Revisit Pitchfork’s 2015 feature “Into the Black: Johnny Jewel’s Dark Disco Empire.”

Doctor Cyclops - Local Dogs (Retro-70′s Hardrock, Italy 2017)
Recorded in the UK and produced by James Atkinson, with the fair featuring of the Lord of Riffs Mr Bill Steer (Carcass, Firebird, Gentlemans Pistols), Local Dogs is an explosive mixture of seventies heavy rock, New Wave of British Heavy Metal and obscure doomy sabbath-style stuff ready to take you back to the spirit of a different era.
Groovy riffs and gloomy paths coming straight from the woods give you the impression that the epic saga of the Seventies ended up in something different than a fleeting reflection of the past. If you like the early Deep Purple groove, try to imagine it mixed with the bluesy Graveyard mood played by Cathedral jamming on Budgie's tunes in Witchfinder General's practice room: then you should be close to realize the spirit and the power of this record. In this contest the featuring of Bill Steer (Carcass, Firebird, Gentlemans Pistols) on lead guitar just tastes like the cherry on top of a tempting cake.
Doctor Cyclops is a seventies-styled power trio playing heavy rock music inspired by a vintage sound, eldest son of glorious Balck Sabbath and of other more underground heroes from the 70ies and early 80ies such as Sir Lord Baltimore, Captain Beyond or Witchfinder General. Even more modern references are warm-vintage styled ones: Witchcraft, Cathedral, Spiritual Beggars just to say some.
Any number of bands make boogie rock records every day. You want to commit? Get frickin’ Bill Steer to play on the thing. Yeah, I know he’s been grinding out the last few years in the reunited Carcass, and that’s awesome, but when he was in Firebird, that band was absolutely incredible, and one imagines it’s that kind of I’m-just-gonna-softshoe-while-I-play-this-awesome-’70s-lead vibe that he brings to Doctor Cyclops‘ upcoming third album, Local Dogs.
Local Dogs follows 2014’s Oscuropasso and will be the Italian outfit’s first full-length on Heavy Psych Sounds. The label posted copious details on the record — and of course it will have more to offer than the Steer guest appearance; though he gets a showing per side — as well as the striking cover art, ahead of the preorders for the CD and LP, which start next month.
Northern Italy’s cold woods are set to unleash their fieriest beast, with ’70s power trio DOCTOR CYCLOPS returning with their blistering third album “Local Dogs” this March on Heavy Psych Sounds.
DOCTOR CYCLOPS haven’t stood idle since their latest album “Oscuropasso” (World In Sound 2014), slowly but surely rustling up their heaviest and most accomplished project to date. This new full-length entitled “Local Dogs” is an explosive mixture of ’70s heavy rock, NWOBHM and doomier Sabbath-style riffage, ready to take you back to a different era. Groovy riffs and gloomy paths coming straight from the woods feel like the epic saga of the ’70s is truly likely to continue its course. In this context, the appearance of Bill Steer (Carcass, Firebird, Gentlemans Pistols) on lead guitar tastes like the icing on top of a tempting cake.
DOCTOR CYCLOPS is a power trio delivering a blistering heavy rock rejuvenating the legacy of the ’70s and early ’80s. The band formed in 2007 in a small village in the middle of Appennino mountains, Northern Italy. Their common passion for brilliant outfits such as Truth and Janey, Sir Lord Baltimore, Captain Beyond or Witchfinder General lead them to record and self-produce their first EP “The Doctor Cyclops” (2010), which is quickly followed by two full-lengths: “Borgofondo” (2012) and “Oscuropasso” (2014), both released on German heavy psychedelic label World in Sound.
Since 2008, the trio has had the chance to tour Europe several times, sharing the stages with Firebird, Blood Ceremony, Siena Root, Colour Haze, Stoned Jesus, The Grand Astoria and many other bands. DOCTOR CYCLOPS also took part to important festivals such as Freak Valley in Germany (2012) and Red Smoke Festival in Spain (2016).
The Band: ♦ Christian Draghi - guitars and vocals ♦ Francesco Filippini - bass ♦ Alessandro Dallera - drums

euringer (2018) final review
I actually listened to this the day it released and most of it sucks, I would argue, unironically. I just kept forgetting to do a formal post to explain why
01 You Know.jpg
i hate it i HATE IT
02 If It Ain't You Today It Will Be You Tomorrow
it's like. alright. It does what it sets out to do I guess. I like Chantal(?)'s parts. I actually made an effort to give this a few repeats when it came out so I could figure out my feelings on it. Still not wholly sold on it, but I don't really mind hearing it.
03 Problematic

Stupid goddamn Too Many Bands Not Enough MDC/Bullshit cast-off fuckin goddamn repititious piece of shit fuck you make me an enchilada
04 That's How Jimmy Gets Down
You can tell I'm simple and I like the songs with the synthesizer rolls and Old Skewl (2003-era) MSI but I really actually do like this. I even downloaded it onto my phone so you can tell I was willing to sacrifice my precious android storage space for this. It helps that it could 100 percent pass itself off as a Lollipop Chainsaw boss track.
05 Be Afraid of Who You Are
Another very 2012 track in terms of production and it's very very good. If the whole album was this good I'd have no complaints
06 Piece of Me
Instrumentally I like it but lyrically it's awful. It's not even good enough to be an If reject. what the fuck happened
07 Wuthering Heights
I have never heard a good Kate Bush cover. This still stands as a true point even after this album released, and also confirms my hunch that covering Kate Bush should be legally banned in every country and on every planet
08 Detroit and Only Halfway Thru The Tour
It grew on me. It has a fun lead-in and even though I think Jimmy's voice has suffered over the years and thus can't really pull of falsetto well, it's still good.
09 Fuck Everything
I had a soft spot for this one from the beginning. It sounds like the credits song to a polarizing cyberpunk movie and I like that, along with the very straightforward, upbeat verses and more tense, emotional chorus (kind of like the inverse of Split Enz' I Got You, I guess.)
10 The Medicine Does Not Control Me
I hate that I love it as much as I do. I thought Gr*mes would totally ruin it, because even before she Did That (dated a billionaire dipshit) I could only tolerate her whole artistic ouevre for small nuggets of time, but when she's given a very strong piece of music she can add a lot to it with her performance, and, unfortunately, I do think this would be missing something if she weren't on this song.
11 What A Fool Believes
Two things: I hate that I now have a predispotion to sing Linkin Park over this, but secondly, this is literally. MSI's cover of Tom Sawyer.
12 Do You Kiss Your Mama With That Mouth?
I thought this sounded a little Self-Titled 2013-outtake-y but that's an insult to the sincerity that album had. I repeat, once again: me no likey. Instrumentally, it's fine, but lyrically it is SO grating, mainly because I predicted about half of the lyrics when I first saw the title.
13 Sailor In A Lifeboat
HELL YEAH FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAAAAAAAAH;HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
14 Random EMO Top Line Generator
I get it. It aint makin me laugh. But I get it
15 Two And A Half Years
wow it's like a left rights album but there's no jokes or experimentation. great. i feel like I'm being smacked on the nose with that stupid magazine article where Jimmy said "we were ten years ahead of the curve, and everyone finally caught up!" like that was an accomplishment. i hate it
