Thankfully, another 95 Ukrainian prisoners of war have just been released from Russian captivity. 🇺🇦👏💙💛🙏🇦🇪

#Repost @kyivindependent_official with @use.repost . . . Another 95 Ukrainian defenders have been brought back home, including service members of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, and the Border Guard, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on July 17.

“Our thanks to our exchange team and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for mediating their release,” Zelensky said, according to his Telegram channel.

“No matter how difficult it may be, we are searching for everyone who may still be in captivity.”

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the release occurred as part of a prisoner exchange, as 95 Russian captives were also released. Ukraine’s Prisoners of War (POW) Coordination Headquarters later confirmed the exchange.

Earlier this week, Ukraine secured the release from Russian captivity of another 100 Ukrainian prisoners of war. 🇺🇦🎉👏💙💛🙏🎊🇺🇦

#Repost @weareukraine.info with @use.repost . . . One hundred Ukrainian prisoners of war have been returned home from Russian captivity, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Feb. 8, 2024.

The president noted that amongst those returned most are defenders of Mariupol, as well as members of the National Guard, the Ukrainian Armed Forces and border guards. According to Ukrainian Ombudsman @dmytro_lubinets, it is the 51st prisoner exchange so far.

The previous prisoner swap took place on Jan. 31, 2023, when 207 Ukrainian POWs returned home from Russian captivity. The largest prisoner exchange throughout the duration of the full-scale war took place earlier in January 2023, when 230 Ukrainians were brought back from Russia.
