I confess that I sometimes listen to voice reocrdings my crush did for a reading test because it comforts me. It's literally just a reading of a passage of text but fuck man. It's definitely creepy as all hell but it's the only thing I've got of their voice.

I mean. We mourn loss in our own way. But at some point, we gotta figure out that it's not helping us grieve, it's just keeping the wound open, right?

MUSIC REVIEW: Vaudeville Villain by Viktor Vaughn

Vaudeville Villain is the only studio album by MF DOOM's producer alter ego. It's a storytelling concept album about the misadventures of a runaway rapper from the future. Eventually he gets into trouble with the police and runs off into the forest. The production is great, but it isn't Vaughn's best work, becuase Fancy clown has a more fulll and polished sound, which is somewhat missing. The production is still great sampling jazz tracks and creating psychadelic sound effect. very well. MF DOOM raps very as usual. In my opinion, the strongest tracks are in the middle. My favorites are "Saliva," which is like "Deep Fried Frenz" in the sense that it has a great horn hook, but the horns have a more full, orchestral sound and "Can I Watch?" which tells the story of a relationship that goes south very quickly from the perspective of both Viktor and his ex Nikki, who is played by Apani B. The story is a bit hard to follow, but it doesn't really matter beacuse it's very non-sequitor until the end. There are two "Open Mic Nite" Tracks, which show off different underground rappers within the story. Overall, it shows excellently Vuaghn's ability to produce in many genres like rap rock in tracks like "Vaudeville Villain," jazz rap tracks like "Saliva" and "Lickupon," and Psychedelic tracks like "Lactose and Lechitin", and "Raedawn." and DOOM's ability to rap in them.

As of listening to this reocrd, my top 10 list of records is as follows:

I've ranked Vaudeville Villain above The Mark of The Beast because it has at times as much emotion carried sonically as on The Mark of The Beast, and displays a command over a higher number of subgenres than The Mark of The Beast. I've ranked Vaudeville Villain below The Stranger because it has eqaully good grooves and variety, and The Stranger has a fuller more orchetral sound, and less songs that I don't like.
