Speaker: Michelangelo to Cody Jones

Context: Mikey spends days on end playing a video game called Helix. The day he beats it he discovers the sequel releases the same day. He gets excited and shouts the above line to Cody, wanting to go out and buy the game.

Media origin: A paraphrasing of a line spoken by DC Comics’ hero Batman to his sidekick, Robin. Batman would say “Hurry Robin, to the Batmobile!”** (or Batmobile would be substituted with Batcave) when they were ready to go out and fight crime.

**I can’t find where the exact line was originally spoken. It would’ve been said in a comic from either the Golden or Silver Age but I also suspect it’s been said in the live action television series Batman (1966-1968) and/or animated series The Adventures of Batman (1968-1969) where it would’ve been further popularized.

Anytime I want to redraw any of my childhood art I have to face the fact that it's going to be my little pony. I am not exaggerating when I say that was all little me wanted to draw.

So have a doodle loosely based off of some human designs I did 13+ years ago. Are they accurate? No probably not, but I haven't seen the show in forever and only made it to around season 5 before the family turned off cable. Don't know why I didn't try to continue watching online, but I never did. I really should rewatch and finish the series...

Kitchener Stitch on 2x2 Rib

So I recently had to do some kitchener stitch on 2 x 2 rib. There are loads of resources out there, but for me personally, they often don't work as a quick reference. Like I read the article, I watch the video and then when I sit down I have to scroll about to find the step I am on. Here is what I noted down for me as a quick glance reference:

1st stich (K) front needle purlwise 1st stitch (K) back needle knitwise

1st stitch (K) front needle knitwise & drop, next stitch (K) on needle purlwise 1st stitch (K) back needle purlwise & drop, next stitch (K) on needle knitwise

1st stitch (K) front needle knitwise & drop, next stitch (P) on needle knitwise 1st stitch (K) back needle purlwise & drop, next sticht (P) on needle purlwise

1st sticht (P) front needle purlwise &drop, next sticht (P) on needle knitwise 1st stitch (P) back needle knitwise & drop, next stitch (P) on needle purlwise

The (K) and (P) are referencing, what stitch is sitting on that needle facing out.

Context: Mikey tells Cody an embellished Turtle Titan story where he single handedly defeated their arch enemy, the Shredder. Raph ends up smacking him at the end.

Media origin: Mikey’s phrase is a parody on what is well known as Superman’s motto, “Truth, Justice, and the American Way.” The phrasing originated from a Superman radio series released in the 1940s during WWII. After the war, the “American Way” was dropped, then brought back in the 1950s Adventures of Superman TV series and dropped again. It was used again and finally popularized by Superman: The Movie (1978) starring Christopher Reeve.
