Research and Exploration sketchbook pages on the sheep bones, spiderwebs, and teeth/dentures. This was a visual response to the different horror-inspired sources I've been researching this term. As a part of this research, I was hoping to use the sheep teeth moulds I made in the clay workshop, however I haven't been able to retrieve them from the kiln yet. Texture was a key inspiration in this study, regardless.

reveal of my gordon hlvrai costume project, now that about half of it is done! this is cardstock and glue and tape and more glue and paint and velcro. and 2 gloves (one hand-sewn)

i got started sometime in early-mid fall, but i committed to making it work with cardstock in january- it was originally meant to be a sizing test before construction with eva foam over the summer. then i realized how expensive thatd be, too much pressure for a form of craft ive never practiced. im pretty amazed with how its come together, even with the large seams! during that whole time when it was unpainted (started painting two weeks ago) there was no way to tell

What's a bus line? And where did you find the knowledge on all the technology things that you draw? (Like the process of how Talita repairs the power for Bip)

A bus or databus is the means by which data is communicated between different parts of a computer system. You might be familiar with the Universal Serial Bus, aka the USB. The "bus lines" that were severed by the Runaway's collision transferred data between Bip's servers and the functions of the ship. Even on emergency batteries, Bip was unable to control important aspects of the ship like the thrusters and life support systems.

Also, I find out this stuff by relentlessly searching the web for the information I need and asking my engineer friends a lot of questions. Let's hold hands and watch this industrial tutorial for splicing medium voltage cables, together

Getting a suspicion this book isn't very good

Lightlark3 is somehow. How do I put this. Worse. The prose is really, really bad, and Aster operates on a baseline of having 'pretty bad prose'

Gee, I wonder if writing and releasing skyshade, plus writing her new adult book, plus a new bonus lightlark book and the 4th due next year... might be resulting in even less editing?

not so gentle reminder from a criminal justice major: law enforcement all across the country (DHS/ICE included) gets an average of roughly in $135B in funding while social programs and fire departments have to rely on the local government and often don’t get the resources they need. But hell yeah, let’s get the piggies more rubber bullets and undercover cars while ppl run into burning buildings for $2 and a goddamn hotdog. 😍

Gonna throw out something crazy. See what sticks. Maybe nothing, hopefully something:

In about 3 months, the US is getting a total solar eclipse. I am a Librarian at a Public Library hosting an event.

Now, I KNOW every corner of the globe has mythology on this very cool astrological event. Many with neat monsters/creatures to go with. It is difficult to find images of said creatures. Sometimes even difficult to find the mythology from various parts of the world. Almost impossible to find coloring pages.

I live in a tiny town, and I am doing everything I can to expand the horizons of the kiddos who live here, and they go bananas for a good story out loud, especially if they have something to do with their hands while listening, like pictures to color in.

I call on the artists of the internet. If you know of a myth about Solar Eclipse, please add on to this post. Tell me the basic myth, tell me the country/culture of origin, and please please please, add a cool picture I can turn into a coloring page. Artist names will be left on pictures for admirers to go look them up, and I hope artists see this as a fun challenge.

I don’t even know if Tumbler in English language has that much of an international presence but… 🤷🏻‍♀️ Here’s hoping.
