How Helical Pelletizers Support Sustainable Plastic Manufacturing
Tumblr media
Plastic makers nowadays face a big challenge: to boost production without harming the environment. It’s no longer enough to just create good stuff – it’s how you do it that counts. This is where helical pelletizers come in to make things interesting for companies that want to stay ahead. Unlike their conventional counterparts, these harm the environment less than too, without slowing down production. In fact, they show that being green and being efficient can happen at the same time. For the plant managers who have to meet both output goals and eco-friendly rules, helical pelletizers are a rare fix that tackles both issues at once. Let’s know more about helical pelletizers in this guide.
The Evolution of Pelletizing Technology
The shift from traditional pelletizing to today’s helical systems resembles the jump from flip phones to smartphones—same basic function, dramatically better execution. Early pelletizing equipment got the job done but with significant inefficiencies: inconsistent cuts, material waste, and energy consumption that would make today’s efficiency-minded managers cringe.
Helical pelletizers changed the equation by reimagining the cutting action itself. Rather than using straight pelletizer knives arranged perpendicularly, these systems employ specially designed pelletizer blades in spiral patterns. This seemingly small design change creates a completely different cutting dynamic—one that slices through material progressively rather than all at once. The difference isn’t just theoretical; it translates to concrete improvements that benefit both operations and sustainability metrics.
Energy Efficiency: The Hidden Sustainability Factor
The most immediate green benefit of helical pelletizers shows up on the electric bill. The spiral arrangement of pelletizer blades creates a shearing action that requires significantly less force than traditional guillotine-style cuts. The result? Energy consumption drops by 15-25% compared to conventional systems running identical materials.
This efficiency advantage becomes even more pronounced in underwater pelletizing applications. The helical cutting action works with the water medium, further reducing resistance and power requirements. For high-volume operations running 24/7, this energy reduction represents both substantial cost savings and a meaningful decrease in carbon footprint—a rare case where financial and environmental interests align perfectly.
Material Optimization Through Precision Cutting
Beyond energy savings, helical pelletizers shine in material utilization—turning more of your input into sellable product rather than waste. The progressive cutting action produces remarkably consistent pellets with minimal fines or dust generation. For manufacturers tracking yield metrics, the difference is immediately noticeable on the production floor and the balance sheet.
This precision becomes even more valuable when processing challenging materials in underwater pelletizing operations. Recycled inputs or specialty formulations that might cause excessive waste in conventional systems can be processed with surprising efficiency. Many operators report yield improvements of 2-3% after switching to helical systems—a modest-sounding figure that translates to substantial material savings at scale.
Extending Component Life: The Sustainability of Durability
Equipment longevity represents another sustainability dimension where helical pelletizers excel. The spiral arrangement distributes cutting forces more evenly than conventional layouts, dramatically reducing the concentrated wear that typically leads to premature component failure.
This durability advantage extends beyond the pelletizer blades themselves. With more balanced forces throughout the cutting system, related components experience less stress and fatigue. Bearings, drive systems, and mounting hardware all benefit from the reduced shock loading. The resulting extension in service life means fewer replacement parts manufactured, shipped, and installed—a sustainability benefit that rarely makes it into corporate environmental reports but delivers real-world impact.
Enabling Higher Recycled Content
As brands push for increased recycled content in their products, manufacturing equipment must evolve to handle these challenging inputs. Helical pelletizers have proven particularly capable in this arena, enabling processors to incorporate higher percentages of recycled material while maintaining product quality.
The superior cutting dynamics handle the inconsistencies typical of recycled inputs—varying melt indexes, contamination levels, and additive content—far better than conventional systems. This capability allows manufacturers to push beyond token recycled percentages toward the substantial incorporation levels that make meaningful environmental differences.
Water Conservation in Underwater Pelletizing
For underwater pelletizing operations, helical systems deliver water conservation benefits that further enhance their sustainability credentials. The more efficient cutting action generates less heat during operation, reducing cooling demands on the water system and allowing for lower circulation rates.
Additionally, the cleaner cutting action produces fewer fines that would otherwise contaminate the process water. This reduction extends the intervals between water changes and filtration operations, conserving both water resources and the energy required for water treatment.
Implementation Strategies for Maximum Benefit
Transitioning to helical pelletizing technology delivers the best results when approached strategically:
Start by documenting your current performance metrics—energy consumption, material yield, component replacement frequency, and product consistency. These baseline measurements will quantify your improvements after implementation.
Consider a phased approach rather than fleetwide conversion. Many operations retrofit a single line initially, using the documented improvements to build the business case for broader implementation.
Partner with suppliers who understand both equipment and application. The optimal configuration varies based on specific materials and production requirements—expert guidance prevents costly missteps during implementation.
Beyond Equipment: The Systems Approach to Sustainability
While helical pelletizers deliver significant advantages, they work best as part of a comprehensive manufacturing strategy:
Make sure your upstream processes deliver consistent material to the pelletizing system. Even the best pelletizer can’t compensate for poor temperature control, inadequate filtration, or inconsistent additive mixing.
Review your downstream handling systems in light of the improved output characteristics. More consistent pellet size and shape might allow for adjustments to drying, storage, and transport systems that capture additional efficiency gains.
Develop maintenance protocols specific to helical technology. The maintenance requirements differ from conventional systems—proper care ensures the sustainability benefits persist throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Conclusion
Helical pelletizers represent that rare technology that makes both environmental and business sense. They cut energy use, waste less material, run longer between maintenance cycles, and handle recycled content better than conventional alternatives. For plant managers juggling production targets and sustainability goals, they offer a practical path forward that addresses both priorities.
The beauty of this technology lies in its alignment of operational and environmental benefits. You’re not sacrificing productivity for sustainability or vice versa—you’re enhancing both simultaneously. As regulations tighten and brands demand more sustainable manufacturing practices, helical pelletizers offer a competitive edge that delivers today while preparing operations for tomorrow’s challenges.

i love whenever ppl are shocked and almost appalled to learn disney recycled a lot of older animation during the dark ages (and even a bit into the renaissance) bc like idk i’d think Baloo and Little John having not only the same voice actor but also literally the exact same design might have been a tell

"Explorers raided tombs and paraded the remains of ancient monarchs and dynasties to their homes. Mummies were unwrapped at social affairs and examined—and it was such a popular pastime that tourism companies in Egypt sent such delights to European countries to satisfy their morbid curiosities and struggled to fuel the growing trend."
“So you see,” Sebastian continued, “There is a historical precedent for this sort of thing. I’m hardly the first businessman to notice the wasted resources just rotting away underground. Or stuffed into an urn, depending on customs and family sentiment.”
“There’s historical precedent for a lot of fucked up shit, Shaw. That doesn’t make it okay!” Pyro stared, aghast, at the website. “Does the Council know you’re doing this? They can’t possibly approve!”
“Are you going to run and tattle on me?” Sebastian sneered. “That doesn’t seem like you, Allerdyce, but you have become more of a conformist rule-follower in Krakoa, it seems. At any rate, some of the Council are aware of my side business. They have elected not to bring it to a vote in meetings, so presumably I am breaking no law of the island.”
“But….it’s wrong. It’s bloody grotesque is what it is!” Pyro exclaimed.
“Is it better or worse than burning people to death during a bank robbery, or as part of some half-baked political protest?”
“Oh, give me a fucking break, Shaw!” Pyro snapped. “I know I’ve done some bad things – “
“Some bad things. What an adorable generalization, ducking out of all serious responsibility – “
“I know I’ve killed people, okay?” Not quite as many as some X-Men wanted to pretend, though. He mostly went for guards, police officers and soldiers, who, as far as Pyro was concerned, had it fucking coming. He hadn’t wanted to kill people to rob a bank, and there was never a need to if the civilians were smart enough to stay well back.
“But killing people doesn’t mean I can’t draw any moral lines, ever,” Pyro continued. “And I’m drawin’ a line right here. This is not okay.”
“Why not? Who does it hurt, really?”
“Well, surely the people whose bodies are getting rented out to sickos! No one would want that.” Pyro wasn’t sure he could articulate the sick churning in the pit of his stomach. It was something that went beyond logic, just a deep sense of disgust that seemed to well up from the center of his being. He was an open-minded fellow, he was willing to play fast and loose with a few morals, but surely some things were just….wrong. Right?
“What they don’t know won’t hurt them,” Sebastian said, waving a hand dismissively. “And apparently X-Factor is running some very interesting experiments with discarded mutant corpses over in their appropriately named “Boneyard.” And I’m quite confident that Sinister is probably churning out clones in his little lab, no matter how he might deny it. So whats the harm in my business?”
“Just because other people are doing it doesn’t make it okay! It’s like a….desecration, isn’t it?” Perhaps there was some of his Gran’s staunch Catholicism lurking under the surface, despite Pyro’s current status as…well, not an atheist, exactly, more like an agnostic who didn’t want to think about things too hard. He had to admit, a childhood of Mass and Confession and Hail Marys really got under your skin, no matter how long ago you walked away from the church.
“All this fuss over discarded meat,” Sebastian shrugged. “That’s all it really is when you remove religion and sentiment from the equation. Really, Allerdyce, I’m surprised at your squeamishness.”
“Are you really okay with it, then?” Pyro asked. “Letting some human fuck a mutant corpse? That’s what they’re doing it, isn’t it?”
“Not necessarily. I believe that’s the most common activity, but a few people want to cook and eat choice pieces.”
“Oh, that’s perfectly all right, then.” Pyro’s words were so heavy with sarcasm, they practically thudded onto the floor.
“Understand, Allerdyce, I find all this personally distasteful. I am disgusted by the idea of necrophilia, and even cannabalsim. But I see no reason to deny others, if there is money to be made. The ‘sickos’ will pay top dollar for discrete fulfillment of their taboo desires.”
“But do you really want to be putting mutant corpses in human hands? Haven’t they got scientists trying to study us or clone us or whatever? Put our DNA in Sentinels to make super-weapons?”
Sebastian laughed heartily. “Really, I didn’t think you were so naïve. Mutants have been in the public eye for several decades. The various governments of the world have been capturing mutant test subjects for a very long time. There are hundreds of mutants buried in graveyards and millions in the heavy layer of ash that still covers Genosha. If some enterprising human scientist wants mutant DNA, it would be very, very easy to lay hands on it. In fact, your own corpse is probably preserved in a government lab somewhere. In other words, there’s no point in closing the barn door at this point. The horses are long gone.”
Pyro couldn’t resist a full-body shudder at the thought. He knew, deep down, that his body was probably stuck in a metal drawer somewhere, or cut into chunks sitting in labelled glass jars. The US government had probably been interested in him as a Legacy Virus victim, back before the cure. It shouldn’t matter, but somehow, it did.
“And the bodies are only available for a limited amount of time, at any rate,” Sebastian continued. “Aside from the obvious natural impermanence of a corpse, I’ve had Sinister inject the bodies with a kind of “kill switch.” After five days, the corpse will dissolve, leaving no trace behind. The humans are only paying to rent, after all.”
“But wait…..” Pyro ventured. “What gives you the right to sell other people’s bodies? Shouldn’t they be the ones to profit off that?”
“What gives people the right to collect discarded trash?” Sebastian said, spreading his arms wide. “Would you begrudge the little old lady collecting aluminum cans for a few pennies from a recycling center? Or the struggling student who takes a sofa from the side of the road? That’s all these corpses are. Trash. Their previous owners have shiny new bodies – bodies gifted to them by Krakoa and the Five, by the way – and left no instructions as to disposal. I don’t use bodies from people who requested to be cremated, or some kind of ritual burial. Just bodies have have been carelessly tossed aside, by people who clearly don’t care.”
“Oh, well I’m sure you’ll be happy to explain that to everyone else, then,” Pyro said. “I’m sure they’ll all be totally understanding.” He realized a moment later, with a nervous twinge, that threatening to tell on the unscrupulous businessman while you were sitting alone in his massive castle and no one else knew where you were was a very stupid thing to do. Fuck. He should have at least claimed to have evidence left with a trusted friend or something, but he’d only just stumbled across this, while exploring the so-called “dark web.” Maybe he could bluff his way out of this.
“I told you, some Council members are already well aware,” Sebastian said, sitting back and regarding Pyro across steepled fingers. “I don’t think you’d find those in authority quite as willing to turn on me as you imagine, Allerdyce. In fact, it’s entirely possible that any attempt to inform the public will lead to a hasty mind-wipe for you.”
“I’ve got proof. I left it all on a flash drive with……” Freddy? Dominic? Mystique? “….a friend,” he finished, not wanting to actually put anyone else in the crosshairs. Hell, Mystique might even know about this. He’d like to think better of her, but she always had schemes within schemes going. He wondered which telepath on the Council might be in on this. Was Sinister a telepath? That arrogant piece of shit Exodus? He seemed too high-minded to approve, but that mission in the Savage Land had shown Pyro that Exodus did not give a single fuck about mutants that he considered weak or “unworthy.” Frost? Even Xavier? Pyro had never trusted that creepy bastard. Something about him had always seemed too good to be true.
Sebastian laughed again. “Oh, you think I’m going to kill you? That’s cute. Allerdyce, you are not in some ridiculous detective story. I am a practical man, and despite your bleating about morals, I know you are, too. I am willing to make you an offer. It’s an easy job. All you have to do is ‘keep mum,’ as they say.” Sebastian wrote a number down on a piece of paper, and slid it across the table.
It was, in fact, a very nice number. Enough to make some of Pyro’s disgust quickly fall away.
“After all, why shouldn’t you enjoy the same kind of luxury experienced by Krakoa’s elite? You serve aboard the Marauder, and you’re obviously on the lowest rung of the crew. None of the power and privilege weilded by the X-Men, none of the wealth bestowed by birth on Christian Frost, my own son, and the Von Struckers. And you do significantly more work than for the Hellfire Trading Company than those spoiled idiots. Why not take a little something for yourself?”
Pyro’s mind whirled. Of course, taking the money now would mean he was “in it,” so to speak. And if the secret got out, he’d probably be implicated along with Shaw, at least in the eys of his fellow mutants. Which would hurt a bit, after all his heroics with the Marauders. He was starting to feel, at least a little bit, like a good guy.
But on the other hand, if Sebastian was telling the truth, and some of the Council already knew, trying to tattle would just get him in the shit. It was all well and good to have movies about heroic whistle-blowers, but in the real world, they got slandered, ruined, and sometimes murdered. No one would stand up for a relative nobody like Pyro, especially if Frost and Mystique already knew. At best he’d just get mind-wiped.
It would be safer to just walk away and keep his mouth shut. And if he was going to walk away anyhow, why not pick up a paycheck for it?
They were just corpses, right? What a resurrected mutant didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them.
And it didn’t seem to actually be breaking any Krakoan laws.
And it was a lot of money.
And Pyro really did like money.
It wasn’t like he was a proper journo anymore, was he? No need for integrity.
Pyro pushed the paper back across the table.
“You’ll need to add a zero to that number before I’ll even consider it,” he said. “And this is just for silence, understand? I’m not gonna be your employee, don’t start expecting me to fetch and carry.”
Sebastian grinned, making a mark on the paper, and held it his hand to shake.
“I knew you’d see sense. It’s a pleasure doing business with you, Allerdyce.”
OOC: I was going to make that sillier, but the more I thought about it…..Sebastian probably would bribe Pyro to shut up, and Pyro would probably just take the money. He’s trying to be “good,” but not that good. Also, no offense intended to Exodus. After the story in the Quicksilver min-series, when Pyro is working with Acolytes on a mission for a supposed Legacy Virus cure (which doesn’t exist), Pyro probably holds a serious grudge against him.

Happy belated national thrift store day [August 17]! This summer I have been consistently thrifting & have been amazed at what I have found for literally a dollar. ONE DOLLAR. I challenged myself to not shop at the mall (specifically Forever 21, my weakness) & I thought I wouldn’t find much options at thrift stores. But GIRL (or BOY) I have been proved wrong! I can attest that you CAN dress current & trendy just from the thrift store (for clothes at least, I have yet to expand to shoes haha).
In honorarium of my current favorite hobby, I’ve decided to share five outfits with clothing that I’ve bought from Goodwill & explain the total amount of each outfit accounting the cost per wear. As an added bonus I made each outfit dress code appropriate!
MONDAY
modern casual hippie
This outfit is the most laid-back out of all five. Having easy pieces to throw on is essential for school because there will be days when you really don’t want to try. The top & jeans (Goodwill) are perfect just for that because their relaxed shape makes them comfy & easy to throw on. I cut off the ends of the jeans for an effortless distressed look. Due to the top being a brand name, RVCA,  it adds more thought to the outfit & prevents it from looking like a regular pajama shirt.
Tumblr media
The sandals (Goodwill) are pushing it because of the extra effort to tie the ribbon – but they are neutral & match with just about anything!
I accessorized with sunglasses (Forever 21) as always. Protect your only eyes people! And I kept my jeans high-waisted with an old belt from Target or Marshalls I think. Finally, I am using a genuine leather backpack (Marshalls) for all of the outfits.
Should me the money!
top: $1
jeans: $1
sandals: $10 / 2 days = $5
belt: $10 / >6+ years = <$1
sunglasses: $8 / >8 days = < $1
backpack: $60 / 4 days = $15
TOTAL COST [accounting cost per wear] = $24
How I calculated it?
Since I used the backpack in 4 outfits (4 days) & the days in 2 outfits, I’ll divide the total cost by the number of days I used the item to get the COST PER WEAR. The sunglasses I’ve owned for months & have definitely worn them more for more than the original cost, same with the belt. As for the thrifted items I am going to assume that these are the first time I’m wearing them to “school.”
TUESDAY
cute & conservative tube top
The tube top (Goodwill) that I’m wearing is the focal point of this outfit (hint hint from the title!). I was able to incorporate this cropped tube top (Goodwill) into a school appropriate outfit because – well first of all, it’s a longer crop top which I ALWAYS appreciate! This is a factor you should consider when buying crop tops. If it’s a bit longer & not too short, it will be easier to bring into a dress code environment.
Secondly, I covered my bare shoulders with a handy-dandy cardigan (Goodwill) that matches with pretty much everything just like my sandals (Goodwill). Finally, I hid my midriff with these white high-waisted mom jeans (Goodwill). Wearing a pair of white color jeans elevates an outfit to look much dressier than just a regular pair of blue jeans. Owning white jeans is an instant fix that will make you look impressively stylish!
Show me the money!
top: $4
cardigan: $1 / 2 days = $0.50
jeans: $1
belt: $10 / >4 years = <$1
sandals: $10 / 2 days = $5
backpack: $60 / 4 days = $15
TOTAL COST [accounting cost per wear] = $26.50
WEDNESDAY
bougie on a budget
Tumblr media
This outfit is the epitome of looking bougie on a budget! The top (Goodwill) by Stussy was in great condition when I found it at Goodwill. I appreciate the fact that it is oversized so it’s extra breathable & comfy. To make sure it did not drown my figure, I made a knot right at the front middle of the top & cuffed the sleeves for shape. The khaki skirt (Goodwill) by Marc Jacobs – YES, Marc Jacobs was at Goodwill – was a neutral base for the simple outfit. I love that the skirt has two working front pockets, a buckle, & button up details. This outfit shows that’s completely possible to find brand names in prime condition at the thrift store!
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Finally, I topped off the brand names with my new kicks, Fila Disruptor II‘s. Obviously, I did not cop these at the thrift store (that would have been amazing haha) & thus paid full price for them. But I think investing in a quality pair of sneakers is worthwhile because it will last a whole school year into the next. I own a pair of Adidas Stan Smith’s for 2+ years now & it still serves me well.
Show me the money!
top: $1
skirt: $1
sneakers: $70 / 2 days = $35
backpack: $60 / 4 days = $15
TOTAL COST [accounting cost per wear] = $52
THURSDAY
casually girly
To make a dress more casual you can wear it as a top (if it’s lightweight & easy to layer/tuck in)! My spaghetti strap top is actually a dress (Goodwill) that I tucked under my denim skirt (Goodwill).
I like buying long denim skirts from the thrift store because I can cut the length to my preference! I made sure this skirt’s length was dress code appropriate & I also made the back longer with a high-low silhouette. Also wearing a denim skirt apposed to a flowy material keeps the outfit casual yet girly.
I pulled out my handy-dandy match-all cardigan (Goodwill) to cover my apparently tempting shoulders & I resued my Fila Disruptor II sneakers. By the way, ignore my dress peeking out from the skirt. Anyways, I love pairing skirts & dresses with sneakers to make the outfit even more laid-back & casual.
Show me the money!
dress: $1
cardigan: $1 / 2 days = $0.50
skirt: $5.50
sneakers: $70 / 2 days = $35
backpack: $60 / 4 days = $15
TOTAL COST [accounting cost per wear] = $57
FRIDAY
more statement pants
It’s the final outfit! I kept the casual trend going but with a business/professional twist. The main item of this outfit is clearly the blue-green plaid trousers (Goodwill). These have been my favorite thrift find of this month! They fit high-waisted which is always flattering & helpful when wearing crop tops. Patterned or colored pants in general (like the white jeans from Tuesday’s outfit) always bring life to an outfit & make it seem much more thought out.
I kept the rest of the outfit simple with a white little boy’s shirt (Walmart), an accidental buy from my dad haha, my trusted Adidas Stan Smith’s, sunglasses (Forever 21), mini backpack (TJ Max), & a choker & watch (Target).
My dad bought a pack of what he thought were men’s white t-shirts from Walmart because they were on sale. So he gave me the rest & I actually like that the fitted silhouette highlights my figure. I, of course, tied the front (even though there’s barely any material lol) for added detail.
The mini backpack I would normally not use on a regular school day. But in college, I could get away with using this on a test day when I really only need pencils & my keys.
Show me the money!
top: $5 / 3+ years = <$1
pants: $8
kicks: $65 / 2+ years = <$1
necklace: $5 / 5+ days = <$1
watch: $10 / 10+ days = <$1
mini backpack: $20 / 20+ days = <$1
TOTAL COST [accounting cost per wear] = $13
That’s the completed lookbook! If you want to see a moving version, check out my Youtube video!
Otherwise, I hope you grabbed some inspiration to shop at your local thrift store or support a nonprofit organization like Goodwill. Whether it’s donating or buying items, the support you show Goodwill goes back into the community. I write as if I’m sponsored but I just really support the goals Goodwill has. But thrifting in general is a big help to your wallet, for your mental game (inexpensive retail therapy & adventure because you never know what you’ll find!), & environmental friendly. It’s mind blowing how much clothes are in the world. We are oversaturated & really need to be more aware of our imprint. With thrifting, you’re recycling clothing that could have ended up in a landfill.
I am definitely going to keep thrift shopping while I have time so let me know if you would like to see more thrifting posts! Any items I may not want anymore will be listed at my Vinted & Poshmark store.
Once again thank you for reading & I hope you have a wonderful day!
Yes, you can find a complete, trendy outfit from the thrift store & still look current! Happy belated national thrift store day ! This summer I have been consistently thrifting & have been amazed at what I have found for literally a dollar.

Tractor Baler in India 2021
Baler tractor implements in India are again is the next thing to earn revenue and profits in an intelligent way, there are many things that get collected at the end and can be reused and alternatively replaced with something else. Baler is such a tractor implement in India that helps in the complete recycling process of the farming. All of these Balers work in a similar way and functions even better.
The uses of Baler tractor implements in India: 1.Reusing is in action because of the Baler. This tractor implements resume the material which is once disowned and discarded. Sometimes waste manure or residuals become useful and worth for some other activities if they are resued.
2.Waste management is the next big thing that is achieved by the use of Baler. The waste received after farming and agricultural practice is often dumped and accumulated in one area.

Food Wastage In Australia
There are roughly up to 1.3 billions tonnes of excellently edible food get wasted or lost each year worldwide. Consumers should be aware of this issue and take this problem seriously. Meanwhile, Australia wastes over 5 millions tonnes of food, ending up going to the landfill.

What matters the most ??
Food wastage is a worldwide phenomenon, affecting developing and developed countries in different ways. It is considerably growing and has a hidden influence on food security and the environment is threatening. Although several Australians like a leftover, repurposing food and spending on the groceries as little as possible.  However, Most of the Australian citizens do not have much awareness of how the food is being wasted. The 35 % of an average household trash can is food waste on the report of EPA website, spending at least AUD279  per week on food and drink. Thinking about throwing over 1000 dollars of groceries annually, people should be even conscious of their own buying habit as well as reusing the leftovers instead of bulking more food.
Which should we act first?
I think that we should be more aware of wasting food problems. When we ordered the food in the restaurant or eating buffet, we should think about how much food we actually need to eat, considering the portions of the meal. It is vital that everyone needs to think before we take action and take full responsibility for the consequences.
What is feasible?
To reduce food wastage, here are the methods we could simply do:
Planing the meals before cooking it, thinking how many ingredients are actually needed, checking the kitchen to make sure all the veggies are out of demand
If it is possible, choosing the food with the least amount of package for reducing the plastic recycling issues as well. ( Package also requires water to produce )
Storing the food correctly and properly
Using the leftover to cook some creative meals
Supporting the food charity organization ( like OZHarvst ), going to the resued food market and getting the food you actually need
When eating in the restaurant, ordering the proper proportion
           Food Charity web: https://www.ozharvest.org/
What is the problem?
Food and water consumption is a crucial part of human life. Without consuming enough food, the human would not be able to have adequate energy for work and may depart life. According to OZHarvest, Australians throws out around 20 billions of food per year that means four million tonnes of eatable food is in the landfill annually. Wasting food remains negative emotions as well as puts the devastating pressure on the environment. When our food ends up in the landfill, it could not be decomposed naturally. As a result, it would emit methane, greenhouse gas, which is harmful to the environment and the lasting player in climate change. he U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization stated that 30 per cent of food in the supply chain is wasted around the world, in other words, it contributes 8 per cent of overall global greenhouse gas emission. Food production also requires a huge amount of resources so that while wasting food, it means we waste the inputs used in production and all the resources are lost and misspend.
Why is it happening?
I think Australians are not intentionally wasting food. For instance, some people might sometimes forget the vegetables that they bought and still had them in the fridge, then kept buying another one. When I did some surveys about the way that how to determine people waste food. Mostly, people waste food in the restaurant, ordering the whole set or huge portion without thinking about if they are able to finish it. However, we are seeing the increase of food wastage every year. This does not only deteriorate the potential hunger problem in Australia but also brings the essential impact and pressure on the environment.
Who is the audience?
I believed that everyone from all parts of the food chain must need to work together so as to cut down the wastage of food, involving farm, foodservice sectors, various food industries, healthcare, and household. In addition, food wastage is pricey and it places harassment on environmental resources, such as energy and water. These resources are required to produce, transport, and sell food. Once we waste every one tonne of food that is sent to the landfill, the leftover would emit carbon dioxide to the environment. As the developed movement of food consumption, I think most people are aware of this issue more than before. Reducing food wastage is the simple thing which could be done by individuals or households, like composting, recycling, and reusing the leftover in other places.
