don't do this to me. (Clymene to Atlas)
"do what?" atlas hissed, rounding on his mother with more anger than he had ever shown in all his life. it was not her fault. he had to remember that none of this was her fault, that his rage should have been directed at those in power. those whose decisions affected them all, who made a general of a scholar, who made children into enemies.
it did not matter. his mother may not have been to blame, but atlas was angry at all of them. "should i not speak my mind, mother? should i not tell you that i am tired of the fighting, that i'm tired of father? you know i never wanted any of this."
he took a deep breath, stepping back. he pinched the bridge of his nose to be sure. "i will do as father says because i am dutiful, mother, but i will not pretend to like what he commands. if saying that is going too far, when my own brothers have betrayed us? then you are blinded."

@rheaeaseandflow asked: ❝believe me i never wanted to be this way.❞ (Hestia)

"I know, and it wasn't your fault, mother." She gives her a compassionate smile, though one filled with pain. Red-rimmed eyes still full of tears as the fire behind them began to return to life. Nightmares like that she had had tonight, they reopened her old wounds again. Though it was worth it to her to spend more time healing her bond with mother. She just had forgotten that that sometimes meant waking up with all flames around extinguished, forgetting how that might worry her mother.
"It happened and we took justice. My pain may continue but it isn't yours to heal." She wipes her eyes and comes to take her mother's hands and squeeze them.
"I'll be alright." She says even as her hands still trembles.

@rheaeaseandflow asked: Hestia inspected the home that was built for him in the fields. It wasn’t as grand as Othrys in the Golden Age but it wasn’t completely modest or plain. Not when she noticed “womanly touches” around. Perfume bottles, hairbrushes, high heels, dresses…undergarments? These were items she recognized from her mother’s home and somehow migrated into Cronus’s. An amused chuckle left her lips as she revealed one of Rhea’s dresses hanging in the bedroom closet to her father. “Papa Cronus…I was unaware that you were allowed a roommate. Let alone a female roommate unless this dress is yours. Although I doubt it. It’s hardly your color!” Hestia teased him with a bright grin, mildly mischievous. “It would complement mother more. Don’t you think?” (Here’s something for fun lol)
"I dare to disagree. I look great in gold," Cronus answered. It always surprised him how easy it was to talk to Hestia. To match her mischievous tone. There was something deeply humbling about it. Her forgiveness. Her willingness to accept that he and Rhea were trying to rebuild their relationship and marriage when her siblings did everything in their power to convince Rhea not to fall for him again. Although he doubted they understood that he and the Titaness had never completely fallen out of love, no matter how difficult he had made it for them. Cronus was endlessly grateful to have Hestia in his life again. To have his daughter back.
Tumblr media
He stepped next to her, hand reaching out to the dresses hanging in his closet. Silky fabric ran through his fingers as he imagined Rhea in them. "She would look ravishing in them." As he recognized his smitten voice, he coughed and let go of the garment. "As for the roommate. I wouldn't speak too loudly about it around your brothers. They might feel the need to protect your mother from me." While it was easy for him to make room in his life for Rhea and Hestia, he had more trouble with the goddess's siblings. Even thinking of them as his children was difficult. No matter how often Rhea would speak about them as theirs. In his mind, they were, first and foremost, Rhea's children. "And gathering allies isn't the easiest when confined to a different realm." A soft chuckle escaped him. Elysium was much preferred to anything he had endured in Tartarus, even if he sometimes envied his brothers' freedoms.

i need to go away for a while. (Rhea to Zeus)
the stability of olympus seemed to come at the expense of his own. each day, from dawn until dusk, the newly crowned king of olympus worked tirelessly to maintain their hard won peace. the palace itself was still undergoing renovations, and establishing alliances, divvying up the world, and carving a place for his leadership in this new era were tiring, thankless tasks. with every new victory, zeus felt a piece of himself slipping away.
he was so tired. he did not want to be king any more - but if not him, then who? what chaos would there be if he chose not to see this through?
zeus was destined to be king, the same way the sky was destined to be blue and the sea was meant to be deep. there was no escaping it - there was only finding solace in those who understood. those who were able and willing to provide it.
and now his mother was leaving.
zeus did not bother to hide his displeasure, lips souring into a frown. his brows burrowed together like crashing waves. "and where will you go?" he asked, gaze narrowed. "why would you leave now, when there is still so much to be done?"
the silent question in his words, the hurt that seeped through a poorly constructed facade, was simple. why would you leave me?

A coarse laugh escaped the massive titan. "Nothing makes me nervous!" He boasted. It was not in his nature. Menoetius was all rash actions and head through the wall. But Cleora's teasing had him blush nonetheless. Mainly because it was so unexpected, especially from where they had started. He remembered their first encounters. She had been the nervous one. Stuck-up and a prude. So much had changed, even more since they had become intimate with each other.
Tumblr media
"I do like you! You must know that." His tone took on a more serious note as his fingertips moved over the naked skin of her back. They had found a hot spring on their hike, and their lesson had morphed into another kind. One, he was sure, would not be appreciated by the titaness's father. But Meno didn't care about what the ram thought. Or anyone else, for that matter. What Cleora and he were up to during their training was no one's business but theirs. "This version of you is a lot more fun than the one I encountered at the beginning." He never thought it would come to this. Menoetius had never been interested in anyone the way his brothers had been. Battle and blood had been his only passions. They still were. Only now, a third passion had joined.
@rheaeaseandflow
@mysterycflife asked: “Shit, how’d you make me blush like this?” (meno for cleo)
Cleora chuckled as her nose brushed smoothly against the warmth of his cheek. She didn't answer him at first, perhaps as a ploy to continue to tease him. He enjoyed so with her so why not let him know how it feels?
Some weeks passed after their first impromptu intimacy lesson: with even more lessons following soon after. What else did he have left to teach her in the ways of combat? She didn't want to admit it...but she enjoyed their sessions of physical intimacy more than mastering weaponry and defensive fighting. They could pretend this was a necessary lesson as both parties were practically ignorant in practice. And who better to learn with than your best friend? A best friend who clearly harbored more than platonic admiration.
Tumblr media
"Do I make you nervous?" Cleora teased him as she moved herself to seat in his lap. She faced him, eye to eye as her hands rested on his hips. Her fingers dug under his shirt to find some skin to rub gently. It was a move she recalled him doing to her when they first learning to kiss. "A big strong titan like you shouldn't be nervous around a tiny little thing like me. Unless...you like me?"

rheaeaseandflow asked: “ we’re family. we don’t turn our backs on each other. “
Tumblr media
Eileithyia had to resist the urge to roll her eyes at her grandmother. For she felt like what Rhea was saying, was a tad hypocritical. "What if I don't want to be part of this family anymore?" The teenage goddess asks, even though it was a complete lie. "And why do you care about the decisions I make in my life anyway?"

@rheaeaseandflow asked: Rhea sat down next to her eldest daughter, looking into the small fire that burned before them. Perhaps it was comforting for Hestia but she wanted to be a source of peace and comfort for her as well. In the unpredictably of war. "How are you doing, dearest? I know a lot has been going since you've been freed. A lot of new people. Moving around. Hopefully we can settle somewhere safe soon."
unprompted ask | Always Accepting
Hestia didn't know how long she had been staring into the fire for, but the light and warmth were what she needed. It let her focus the flames, let her ignore everything else for now. A hand reached out, fingers dancing amongst the flickering flames. It almost let her forget that there was a war going on, targets on their backs and big world-changing outcomes to be had. Her siblings were all in danger and they were all apart. It was scary.
Then mother spoke and Hestia blinked, drawing back from the fire in her mind to listen. Hestia felt great heartache for mother, for how she had suffered watching each of her children be swallowed, but they'd had little time to bond. She didn't yet feel any urge to go to her for comfort. Hestia was the comfort source for her siblings and they were for her.
"If ever there will be safety. I have never truly felt that sensation." Her gaze is still on the flames.

@rheaeaseandflow asked: i don’t want you in my bed anymore. (Cronus)
The audacity! Had she not understood by now that he was well within his rights to not forgive her for her betrayal? Instead, she dared to punish him for the consequences she had brought upon herself. Still, he wouldn't force himself on her. Such action was beneath a king. And despite everything she'd done, Rhea was still his queen and deserved the respect that title brought. And soon she would come to understand that all he'd done was preserve their reign and power. He would never trust her as before, but there was no denying that he still loved her and wanted her by his side. It was what had saved her from a harsher penalty.
Tumblr media
With a sour look, he moved his robe back over his shoulders and closed it. "You cannot behave like a stubborn brat forever, Rhea." Cronus shook his head, his expression turning into something like pity for her. "Sooner or later, you have to understand that it was you who forced my hand against our family. That my actions saved what we've built together."

@rheaeaseandflow asked: How would the Big 6 (or Big 5 technically lol) feel about Rhea and Cronus reconciling after their father is freed from Tartarus?
very interesting question! i think there's three sort of camps that the five of the six i write would fall into. one) the "this is weird but i'm ultimately just happy if she's happy" crew, two) the "i am angry with this but i honestly don't care any more" group, and three) the "this is a complete betrayal" crowd, and i think who falls where will be... surprising.
one) this is where demeter and hades fall. i think demeter is a little more forgiving than the rest of her siblings, actually, and of all of them feels the least ill will towards their father. it's not zero ill will, of course, but it's lesser. she also is much closer with rhea than some of the others, i believe, and would therefore be much more inclined to just say "follow your heart, even if it's back to dad!" hades is in a similar boat. he thinks it's weird, and he hopes she doesn't expect him to reconcile the same way, but he's not here to tell her what she can and cannot do, and would ultimately be happy for her to have done that healing.
two) this is where hera falls. the thought of cronus ever coming to a family function boils her blood, and she thinks her mother's choices are reckless and foolish (though, that's how hera feels about a lot of things). but she ultimately wouldn't care enough to intervene or say anything beyond a sarcastic "really?" before moving on with her life. a part of her understands that the heart wants what it wants, and that forgiveness is a virtue she could stand to learn a little more of, so she gets it. she's mad, but she gets it.
three) this is where both zeus and poseidon fall, but in different ways and for different reasons. for poseidon, it's a little more straightforward. his feelings about his childhood are incredibly complex, and his anger is intense. he loathes cronus for the damage he's done, and poseidon cannot stand the thought of him. i think it would feel more like a betrayal on rhea's part because they've been working so hard to reconcile themselves, so to see his mother reunite with the man who is really to blame for his suffering would be painful.
zeus, though, is complicated. i mean, i think he's the one who gives cronus the pardon and allows him to be free in the first place, so he very much so has at least the wisdom and sense to engage in some pardoning on his own. but that does not mean he likes his father or wants to be around him. zeus' interactions with cronus were generally more personal (in terms of conversation, anyway) and more violent than the rest of his siblings. zeus is left with a lot of scars, both emotional and physical, on account of his father, and i think in his fight with cronus, really got to see the cruelty cronus was capable of. rhea reconciling with him would not be a betrayal to zeus because he hates cronus though - it would be because zeus' thoughts would turn to "what was i even fighting for? what was the point of all i did, all i endured? could all of this have been avoided?" and that line of questioning is so hurtful he can't help but feel a little betrayed by his mother for even making him doubt.
this is not to say, of course, that these opinions could not or would not change, some quite quickly, in coming to understand the circumstances of this reconciliation. but there would definitely be a lot of complex emotions.

"Family is it?" She snapped. "We are not family, are we really? The other titans view me with such CONTEMPT... I can't understand it. Why should you be different? What makes you hate me any less than them?"
The goddess narrowed her eyes at the other, tears welled in her eyes as she spoke.
"What fault have I of how I was created?!"
Tumblr media
A puzzled look flushed on Rhea's face, bewildered by her half sister's statement. "What makes you think that, Aphrodite? We are family and with that, we are equal."
