What did the Spanish guy do that makes it a moral obligation to share his identity?

Google Spain v AEPD and Mario Costeja Gonzalez is the big case that established a variant of the right to be forgotten as a principle of EU law. (Technically the court rejected a formal Right to Be Forgotten, but enshrined a right for the subject of data to have it removed under various circumstances.)

Mario Costeja Gonzalez had his home repossessed and sold for tax debts in 1998. There was a newspaper announcement about it to solicit bids, and this announcement was eventually put on the internet.

In 2009, this was a top hit when you googled Costeja's name, which Costeja thought was unfair because it had happened a decade earlier. He asked the newspaper to pull the information down, and the newspaper refused because it was published by government order. So then Costeja wound up suing Google to require it to remove links to the data; he won his suit and Google was required to scrub links to that fact.

(Of course this did in fact Streisand; when you search the dude's name all the hits are about this case. But they're about the case itself, not about the fact that Mario Costeja Gonzalez had his home repossessed and sold in 1998 for delinquent tax payments.)

Huh, I had not heard about this controversy! Apparently I need to start including the sentence "Lance Corporal David Cleary has been credibly accused of murdering two people and trying to murder five others during the Bloody Sunday shootings" in my list with "Spanish citizen Mario Costeja González's house was repossessed and sold due to a tax debt" as things it's morally obligatory to say any time they reasonably come up.

(I also find myself deeply disappointed in Wikipedia, which voted by a narrow margin not to name him, based on a privacy of names rule. In this context the fact that his name has been "intentionally concealed" seems a reason they should feel obligated to print it in as many places as possible.)

It's really funny that redditors convinced themselves that the stupid Tiananmen Square copypasta is going to get chinese people forcefully disconnected from their internet service or something while the UK government will get your ass if you complete the sentence "Soldier F is ___" and has actively worked with google and with social media websites to censor posts or search results about Soldier F

messed up on bobettes size in comparisson 2 the rest of the holidays.. ive literally never played dandys world but that comic on tiktok by poilubsu (whatever this is) was so peak i couldnt stop myself from going deeper in2 the fandom. somehow a few of these designs r already slightly outdated to how i draw them ?? mostly the commons (SHRIMPO.) but it was still sooo much fun. due to rarity i only drew commons thru rares as post-twisting

misc doodles. i have such bad favoritism for shrimpo. and the number of drawing im holding from u bc its a rarepair is heartbreaking. maybe later !!!

There is an endless tragedy to Undertale and Deltarune where your choices as a player are never recognized whenever you do good. It is always attributed to someone else. Whether it be Frisk or Kris, your actions that you do for others will always be "the actions" of someone else.

But when you start doing evil, suddenly the world starts paying attention. Suddenly your presence is acknowledged. Suddenly, you're seen. You are almost invisible to most people within the narrative until you do evil, and that's a tragedy.

CATS!! I can't stop thinking about this musical and these characters! I keep trying to figure out how Id personally translate their designs for things like animation and/or comics. plenty of these I'm not 100% satisfied with and I'm sure they'll change but here's at least my first attempt for posterity. I feel like I drew SO many cats and yet there are SO many I have YET to draw OTL
