I’m curious why Magik reverted back to Chris Bachalo’s costume design from Rod Reis’s costume design in From the Ashes. It seems odd Illyana would go through Vita Ayala’s Labors of Magik story arc in New Mutants complete with a new look, just to change back when her Alaskan X-Men teammates all received new costumes. I’m not complaining, I’m just confused. That was the quickest outfit change in Magik’s publication history. 😄 What do you folks think?

Our second largest (chromatic) dragon. Our blue boy's most distinguishing trait is his large nasal horn. It acts as a lightning rod to absorb ambient electricity while flying around in thunder clouds. Blue dragons are the most aerially-oriented dragons, having to fly many miles looking for prey in the deserts. I decided to make it heavily armored, with the design based on various types of dinosaurs. The head most matches a Ceratosaurus while the body armor comes from Thyreophorans.

Honestly though, posting this right after seeing the full design for Thor Magala Rey Dau in Monster Hunter Wilds feels underwhelming. The rail-gun lightning horns are so cool

Rey Dau sounding like a theremin is a very good take on making a monster that sounds artificial while still feeling like a living creature. (AKA: It doesn't make mecha jet plane sounds for no reason other than "it's cool".)

Like yeah, it does make sense that the lightning rod railgun monster can use electricity to make sound, and that makes its relationship to electricity as an evolutionary set of adaptations feel much deeper.

While i'm still not sure on how i feel about the visual design, on the basis that it seems to be the flagship (yet another rath-adjacent flying wyvern), the sound design definitely makes it a monster that i like.
