One of my favorite gags in the Space Quest 6 intro is when Commander Kielbasa, making an announcement to the crew of his starship, says "I'd like to thank each and every one of you", and then proceeds to do so: "So. Thank you, thank you, thank you..."

List of Games Turning Thirty (30) Years Old in 2025
Battle Arena Toshinden (this was the very first 3D fighting game, and paved the way for games like Tekken and SoulCalibur).
Castlevania: Dracula X (a re-release of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood for the SNES).
Chrono Trigger (one of the best games ever made. with a dream team made up of Hironobu Sakaguchi [Final Fantasy], Yuji Horii [Dragon Quest], and Akira Toriyama [Dragon Ball]).
Comix Zone (a pretty fun side scrolling beat 'em up from Sega).
Command & Conquer (the first in the series).
Descent
Destruction Derby
The Dig (a really unique graphic adventure game from LucasArts).
Discworld (based on the setting made by Terry Pratchett).
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation (the last game in the Zenethian trilogy, and the last one to only release in Japan).
Fade to Black (a sequel to Flashback, which is a pioneer in the platformer genre).
Front Mission (the very first one. didn't release in the West until 2007).
Full Throttle (another LucasArts graphic adventure game centered around biker culture.)
Hexen: Beyond Heretic
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream
Jagged Alliance (another pioneer in the RTS genre)
Jumping Flash! (one of the very first 3D platformers, pre-dating Super Mario 64).
The King of Fighters '95
Kirby's Dream Land 2
Light Crusader (a really unique and interesting action-adventure fantasy game from the Sega Genesis).
Mario's Picross (is it pronounced "Pie-Cross" or Pih-Cross"?)
Marathon 2: Durandal (one of Bungie's earliest games)
Mega Man 7
Mortal Kombat 3
Panzer Dragoon
Phantasmagoria (yet another LucasArts graphic adventure game, this one centered on a haunted house. It had some pretty gnarly and gruesome death scenes. Look up at your own risk).
The PlayStation (the first one)
Rayman (RIP, Rayman. Ubisoft sucks too much to give you the support you deserve).
Ristar
Romancing SaGa 3
The Sega Saturn (it was supposed to launch in early September on a Saturday, dubbed "Saturnday". However, the PS1 was launching the same week and was $100 cheaper than the Saturn. So... Sega surprised launched the system at the very first E3).
Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco in the Spinal Frontier (the last game in a pretty silly and humorous series of graphic adventure games from Sierra Entertainment).
Star Wars: Dark Forces
Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dream (also known as Street Fighter Zero. It was a prequel to Street Fighter II and featured younger versions of already existing characters).
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (do you consider this a Mario game or a Yoshi game)
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (the English version of this game wouldn't release until 1998. Three years after the original version).
Tales of Phantasia (the first game in the Tales of series from Namco).
Terranigma (an awesome RPG from Enix that never released in North America)
Twisted Metal
Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness

Ryu Number: Don Adams
Don Adams was an American actor, best known for his role as the incredibly skilled yet incredibly clumsy secret agent Maxwell Smart in the secret agent spoof sitcom Get Smart. If you don't recognize the title—which, fair enough, it aired literally sixty years ago—he also notably voiced the dimwitted cyborg police officer protagonist of the Inspector Gadget cartoons.
He has a Ryu Number of at most 4.
The last portion of Space Quest V: Roger Wilco – The Next Mutation features our titular protagonist infiltrating the SCS Goliath, making use of its cramped, labyrinthine maintenance tunnels.
Apparently someone in development thought the passageways a bit reminiscent, video-game-wise: Take the right wrong path, and Roger will speedily crawl in the other direction with an unexpected cameo on his tail.
Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco in the Spinal Frontier is fully voiced, including—as you may know already because @ryunumber—noted disc jockey, announcer, and voice actor Gary Owens. Normally this wouldn't be enough to count the actor themselves, even if they are credited in the game—but persist past the end credits and fade-out and you'll hear the narrator thank you for playing Space Quest 6 before extroducing himself specifically as "Gary Owens, signing off." Totally counts!
Finally, guess who got himself a copy of TV Land Presents Blast From the Past?

Mind, it's such a jalopy of a game I couldn't get it to run on my computer without serious graphical issues...
... but I was able to get it to run just runnily enough to confirm its nature! If you ever wanted to play a game where TV stars of a bygone era ask you trivia questions about the shows they were on... then you're not exactly choked with options, are you?
Gary Owens pulls double-duty here, playing both quiz host and TV star questionmonger, his questions focusing on the sketch comedy show Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In (where he was the on-screen announcer).
Don Adams' questions, of course, have to do with Get Smart. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any clean, non-glitched-out footage of him from my recordings, so have this video I extracted from the game files instead.
You know what? There's a charm to it.

We've got numbers 40 to 31 today! Check it out!

40. Worms Armageddon Previous Rank: 22 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Worms is ridiculous, and I love it. Armageddon is considered the best of the series for obvious reason, it's a perfect blend of the artillery genre and comedy, and it's just a blast to play with friends. I highly recommend it.

39. Celeste Previous Rank: 15 (Available on: Steam) Celeste only fell because there's so much added. Great platformer with a charming story that you should play at least once.

38. Half-Life Previous Rank: 36 (Available on: Steam) Half-Life is pretty good, it's a classic FPS with a great story and a good focus. Its linearity is a part of the story too, even though other shooters learned the wrong thing from it. The gunplay is good, the enemies are varied, it's just a good time.
37. SimCity 3000 Unlimited Previous Rank: 42 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Ah, SimCity 3000 Unlimited. Easily one of the best city builders out there, it takes the formula from the previous SimCity games and expands it perfectly. It's just the right amount of complex.
36. You Don't Know Jack 5th Dementia New Entry (Not Available, Sadly) This is actually my second favorite of the classic YDKJs, I just couldn't add it last time because it doesn't play nice with modern Windows. You need a Windows 98 virtual machine or 86Box to run it properly. Thankfully, I now have that. Josh “Schmitty” Schmitstinstein isn't Cookie Masterson, but he hosts well. When it was new, it had online, but nowadays the servers are down.
35. Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco in the Spinal Frontier New Entry (Available on: Steam, GOG) The last Space Quest game is one of the best, it's right up there with the others. It's a little more cartoon-like, but I feel the art style helps the humor. Gary Owens is back as well.
34. Syndicate Previous Rank: 24 (Available on: GOG, EA) Syndicate is hard, but it's a well made cyberpunk strategy game with a distinctive artstyle and a distinctive feel. If you've never played it, do yourself a favor and pick it up.
33. The Incredible Machine 3 Previous Rank: 32 (Available on: GOG) Puzzle games are kinda my jam, and The Incredible Machine 3 was my first taste of this classic series. Just really fun puzzles with character. Lasers and cats and power switches, oh my!

32. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy New Entry (Available on: Steam) I like the Ace Attorney games, they're quite cerebral and funny to boot. The new characters introduced are just as memorable as the original trilogy, and it's still quite challenging.
31. Dungeon Keeper Previous Rank: 31 (Available on: Steam, GOG) Bullfrog makes great strategy games, and Dungeon Keeper exemplifies it. You command a group of minions (that you have to pay, being evil ain't cheap) and try to keep adventurers away from your dungeon heart. Really fun game.
Next part tomorrow!

Do either of Paul Erdős or Kevin Bacon have a Ryu number? Does Ryu have an Erdős or Bacon number?
From the top: Paul Erdős, for all of his prolific mathematical contributions, doesn't appear to be in any video games. Granted, it's not like there's great documentation for mathematicians that are in video games. The only method I could find easily is through Great Scientists and Engineers in Civilization games, and Erdős doesn't crack that list. Thus, Paul Erdős does not have a Ryu Number.
As for Kevin Bacon, Topher Florence in a 2019 Fanbyte article gave Kevin Bacon a Ryu Number of 6 (UPDATE: now 5 with Ryu’s inclusion in Brawlhalla) (UPDATE 2: 4, courtesy of @kchasm) through Bacon's sole video game credit as a celebrity guest appearance in You Don't Know Jack Vol. 2.

There are three caveats that I've discovered while doing additional research, however.
First, the path goes through the trivia game TV Land Presents: Blast from the Past, a video game that definitely exists but has virtually no documentation outside of a cast list, so it's a somewhat small leap of faith to use it.
Second, Florence mentions that American radio announcer Gary Owens is the narrator for Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers and refers to himself, out loud, as Gary Owens. Both of which are true... just not at the same time. Owens was the narrator for Space Quest IV, but at least as far as online transcripts and the Space Quest Omnipedia can attest to, the narrator only explicitly refers to himself as Gary Owens in Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco in the Spinal Frontier. So does this mean that the narrator voiced by Gary Owens in Space Quest IV is also explicitly Gary Owens? I mean, most likely, but also unless there's a line that implies the narrator in 6 is or is not the same narrator in IV, it's not 100%?
Third, the link from Owens to King Graham is through a brief cameo in Space Quest IV of someone getting carried away by an eagle in direct reference to King's Quest V: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder!. The sprites are nearly but not quite identical, but what complicates matters is that apparently in the game files that person is identified as Maharg. So on one hand, the sprite is just about identical, but the person in Space Quest IV is named something different, but it's also just as likely that it was a cheeky touch by a Sierra dev and not meant to signify a different character?
The first caveat has to be accepted to give Bacon a Ryu Number (and in all likelihood, it's probably fair game). The second and third caveats, however, can be bypassed, but it gives Kevin Bacon a tenuous and possibly unprecedented Ryu Number of 7 (UPDATE: now 6, see above update), barring an alternate route I overlooked.
As for Ryu's separation numbers, it is extremely difficult for a fictional character to have a movie credit (but not unheard of) and near impossible for a fictional character to coauthor a research paper, so Ryu does not have a Bacon or Erdős Number.
But just for the hell of it:
Ryu's single theatrical movie depiction is in 1994's Street Fighter portrayed by Byron Mann, who per the Oracle of Bacon has a Bacon Number of 2.
Likewise, Mike Moh, the actor for Ryu in Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist, a live action web series officially approved by Capcom, also has a Bacon Number of 2.
An associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at George Mason University named Yotam Gingold has an Erdős number of 3, and happens to have published a 2006 paper titled "From Rock, Paper, Scissors to Street Fighter II: Proof by Construction". And guess who’s in Figure 4?

Well folks, after a solid 3 months and 6 games, I have officially completed the Space Quest series!!! Holy crap, that was one hell of a journey and boy am I glad that it’s done finally lol.
It began feeling like my soul was trapped in this series and now it’s free! It was a wholly enjoyable series regardless though and I enjoyed my time with it.
It does suck that the game ends with a clifhanger and we never saw the release of Space Quest VII though. I wonder what would have happened next lol. (Roger probably getting killed by Beatrice buaha).
I still have enough screenshots for one more set which I’ll share later.
