I'm angry but nothing against Kamila, but with the system. She is fifteen. At 15 years old, you are not a woman, you are not an adult. Imagine having the same pressure on shoulders at her age. Imagine, with all the pressure if she will finally falls at the olympics. That would be so damaging on her.
So tired of this system who consider kids as adults. Raise the age limit. Please.

I'm listening to Evgenia Medvedeva's interview on the Olympics Instagram account and I'm—
(does she think Valieva could possibly get on the Olympics podium if she repeats performances like that) Not gonna lie, I think so. But I'm just always trying to explain that we shouldn't put such responsibility on a skater, because she's still young, she's a kid. What she's doing, it's amazing, but let's remember she's human, she has feelings.
At this point I was like "Yes! This is it!" It made me incredibly happy to hear that because it sounds like she was able to take a step back and understand how crazy the expectations asked of those young girls are and how unhealthy it is. And then—
We have to appreciate it because it's not like "oh, a couple of practices and I'm done and I'll show you" [...] Maybe it looks like this but behind it, it's really a lot of... I can say even, suffer[ing]. Because figure skating is half of art, and art is born of suffer[ing]
And no. Oh no sweetie. No no no. I'm so deeply sorry; but you're wrong honey. Art might sometime be born from suffering, I can't deny it. But art doesn't HAVE to be born from suffering. Art comes from many different places and none is more valid than another. You don't have to suffer to express something through art. Your art isn't less powerful if you haven't suffered.
It made me look back at all her programs in growing horror. And suddenly I wonder if Orange Colored Sky, which I loved very much, never seemed to satisfy her because of that. It was such a happy song, a happy program. In all of the others, there was a part of pain. The pain of growing up, the pain of a disability, the pain of losing someone,... She's convinced, like many of her teammates past or present, that suffering is normal, is expected, is required. I mean sure, elite sports bring a lot of suffering because of the strain it puts on their body. So I would have understood if she said "half of figure skating is physical, demanding, and such thing lead to suffering." But she didn't. She didn't.
