Somewhat off-topic, but: I just had to check the identity of a pill the other day, and so I realized that nobody edited the numbers off the pills in the “hard-to-swallow” meme, so they’re still identifiable, and looked them up. In case anybody wants to know, it’s roxicet, a mix of oxycodone and acetaminophen:

From Likes to Lawsuits: How responsible are social media platforms for their users?
By Gregory Martinez,  Rutgers University–New Brunswick  Class of 2026
October 25, 2023
Tumblr media
In June 2021, 17 year-old Brooke Badger was found dead in her California home, victim to what seemed to be an opioid overdose. However Brooke’s mother questioned the story, seeing as Brooke was a stellar student who she didn’t think would even take drugs, much less overdose. After gaining access to her daughter’s Snapchat days later, Brooke’s mother found evidence of conversations between Brooke and a dealer regarding the purchase of Roxicet, a prescription medication containing acetaminophen and oxycodone typically prescribed for pain relief. Brooke’s fatal mistake was not realizing that the Roxicet pill she received was a fake, laced with fentanyl, a stronger prescription drug that is currently experiencing a wave of illegal, dangerous production in the United States that has led to accidental overdoses throughout the country. In April 2023, relatives of more than 65 victims of situations just like Brooke’s filed suit against Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, claiming that the app facilitated the sales of the substances, and therefore should be liable for the deadly consequences.

From Likes To Lawsuits: How Responsible Are Social Media Platforms For Their Users?
By Gregory Martinez,  Rutgers University–New Brunswick  Class of 2026
October 24, 2023
Tumblr media
Snapchat, first released in 2011, has been a staple in every teenager’s phone for nearly a decade. A fun way to interact with friends and meet new people under the guise of extensive privacy, the platform has become a communication medium that presents a low-risk alternative to communicating over more “personal” platforms, like text message or Instagram. The platform’s main calling card is the aforementioned privacy it enables, with messages disappearing after a day and screenshot notifications making it difficult to keep receipts on conversations. This is great for teenagers who want to do and say things without fear of exposure, however the lack of fear of exposure also makes it a breeding ground for much more sinister activity. Brooke’s fatal mistake was not realizing that the Roxicet pill she received was a fake, laced with fentanyl, a stronger prescription drug that is currently experiencing a wave of illegal, dangerous production in the United States that has led to accidental overdoses throughout the country [1]. In April 2023, relatives of more than 65 victims of situations just like Brooke’s filed suit against Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, claiming that the app facilitated the sales of the substances, and therefore should be liable for the deadly consequences [2].
One of the most influential pieces of legislation of the modern age is the famous Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. 26 words, written in 1996, but likely to serve as precedent for technology related cases for centuries, it states that “no provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider” [3]. This line is the reason why any social media platform enables its users to speak, because if kanyelover123 tweets that Taylor Swift’s breath stinks, Swift cannot sue Twitter for defamation of character, only the bitter tweeter. Section 230 has long protected social media platforms from having to worry about censoring every individual user for fear of a lawsuit, however there still remain limits to the protection that Section 230 provides, limits that the class action lawsuit is attempting to exploit. Companies have to act responsibly and in good faith to prevent illegal activity to take place in order to have immunity from liability for any illegal activity that may take place anyways, and Matthew Bergman, the lead attorney for the plaintiffs, argues that Snapchat has not done so.
The merits of the Snapchat case remain to be seen, but the suit does bring an important issue into the public eye, the amount of liability that social media platforms should have, and the extent of their responsibility to prevent wrongdoing on an ethical level. Earlier this year, Tik Tok faced questioning from the US Congress, officially due to concerns over the privacy of user data, but following years of controversy over the sometimes deadly “challenges” that can originate from the app [4]. Every so often there seems to be a new case of a child dead or seriously injured from something they did because of Tik Tok, whether it be purposely attempting to black out through self-strangulation [5] or taking large amounts of allergy medicine Benadryl [6]. The conversation following these events splits into a valid ethical debate, is it Tik Tok’s fault for letting these terrible ideas be spread through their networks, or at a certain point is it on people to be smart enough to not overdose on Benadryl? In the legal world the balance is struck through the concept of negligence, where it is the victim’s responsibility to take care of themself until it can be proven that there was a degree to which the other party acted irresponsibly. This should be fair since people should generally be smart enough to avoid harm, and it is impossible to ask any social media platform to make sure that no individual out of its hundreds of millions of users does something ridiculous, but it often ends up with a lot of tragedy and no one that can be blamed for it. It may be that that’s how life is, and sometimes tragedy is just tragedy, but it is a hard pill to swallow and difficult to spark a conversation that we should be protecting those who don’t know any better. The issue will rage on, but it remains that every time a company is protected by Section 230 or similar liability laws, more people get hurt.

I'm Back!!
So I wish I had some deep reason for my disappearance. I forgot the password to this account. My bad. In the meantime, here's what I've been up to: - Fell out of the SebCiel fandom (still love them, just haven't written in a while). Trying to immerse myself back into it because they're just so fun to write. - Had another kid. She'll be 2 months old in a few days. We'll call her Her Highness and Bocchan adores her (most of the time) - Dropped out of nursing school, but will hopefully go back. - Now playing Neverwinter on PC pretty religiously. - Watched Zootopia and it is kinda consuming my life. - Still owe a request to an anon from forever ago, so going to try and fulfill that.

Best Place to Order for your Pain pills
At loveworldpharmacy.org  you can get pain pills without a prescription. +1 (302) 393-5477
Chronic pain is a serious health condition. Like any long-term health problem, the condition often leads to complications beyond your physical symptoms, such as new or worsened depression, anxiety and difficulty sleeping. Chronic pain can make it more difficult to keep up at work, manage tasks at home and attend social gatherings, leading to problems in your relationships and financial instability. Some research suggests that the more severe your pain, the more serious these problems.
The serious consequences of chronic pain make finding effective treatment a critical goal. Unfortunately, this process is complex and uniquely personal. What works for one person's chronic low back pain may not offer any relief for your osteoarthritis, for a number of reasons. Your diagnosis, biology and personal history all play a role, and finding pain therapies that bring you adequate relief can be a lengthy effort.
Working in partnership with your doctor, however, you can identify treatments that allow you to live an enjoyable, fulfilling life. The approach you choose should include more than just medication, but painkillers are likely to play a role. Learn about the risks and benefits of common pain medications so that you can make safe choices as you seek your solution.
 Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
NSAIDs are most effective for mild to moderate pain that's accompanied by swelling and inflammation. These drugs are commonly used for arthritis and pain resulting from muscle sprains, strains, back and neck injuries, or menstrual cramps.

Opioids
Opioid medications are synthetic cousins of opium and the drugs derived from opium, such as heroin and morphine. These drugs are often prescribed for acute pain that stems from traumatic injury, such as surgery or a broken bone. Opioids currently cause the most prescription drug-related overdose deaths in the United States — and that rate is still rising. Because the risks are so great, opioids are used at the lowest dose possible, usually for just a few days.
Brand names. Hydrocodone (Hysingla ER, Zohydro ER); hydrocodone-acetaminophen (Norco, Zyfrel, others); fentanyl (Actiq, Duragesic, Fentora), oxycodone (OxyContin, Roxicodone, others); oxycodone-acetaminophen (Percocet, Roxicet, others); others
How they work. Opioids, just like real opium, mimic the natural pain-relieving chemicals — called endorphins — produced by your brain. These drugs "turn down the volume" on the pain signals your nervous system sends through your body. They also muffle other nerve cell functions, such as your breathing, heart rate and level of alertness.
Bottom line. Opioids are a last resort for chronic pain management. They may be the right choice for long-term pain related to cancer and its treatments or, in rare cases, noncancer pain that hasn't responded to any other medications. Because the risks are so serious, you'll need careful and frequent follow-ups with your doctor if you use opioids long term.
While there isn't a cure for chronic pain, many effective pain medications are available to help you function effectively and enjoy your days. As you try different drugs, alone or in combination, work with your doctor to target the simplest long-term solution possible. Keep your medication risks to a minimum to improve your odds of many good days, for many years to come.

Buy oxycodone 30mg online, Oxycodone is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. Oxycodone extended-release tablets and extended-release capsules are used to relieve severe pain in people who are expected to need pain medication around the clock for a long time and who cannot be treated with other medications.
Oxycodone extended-release tablets and extended-release capsules should not be used to treat pain that can be controlled by medication that is taken as needed.
Oxycodone extended-release tablets and extended-release capsules should only be used to treat people who are tolerant (used to the effects of the medication) to opioid medications because they have taken this type of medication for at least one week.
Buy oxycodone 30mg online, Oxycodone is in a class of medications called opiate (narcotic) analgesics. It works by changing the way the brain and nervous system respond to pain.
Oxycodone is also available in combination with acetaminophen (Oxycet, Percocet, Roxicet, Xartemis XR, others); aspirin (Percodan); and ibuprofen. This monograph only includes information about the use of oxycodone alone.
If you are taking an oxycodone combination product, be sure to read information about all the ingredients in the product you are taking and ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

There are several ways people misuse oxycodone. The most common way in which oxycodone is misused is oral, using the original pill form that oxycodone comes as. While taking the pills is the most common method of oxycodone abuse, some people with severe addictions may try to use oxycodone in other ways to obtain a faster high.
The oxycodone that is inhaled into the lungs crosses into the bloodstream from the lungs, making a stronger, but shorter, high. This method of oxycodone use can be risky because it can cause permanent lung damage. One of the most popular ways people misuse oxycodone, besides taking it in its pill form, is by snorting oxycodone.
How Long Oxycodone Addiction
The thin walls of the nose absorb the drug into the bloodstream faster than ingesting it would. Snorting oxycodone can lead to an increased risk of overdose and damage to the lining of the nose, along with a higher risk of serious infections, including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis C.
Injecting the drug is dangerous and likely to result in serious side effects, including death. Because oxycodone comes in pill form, people must liquefy it to be able to inject the drug. Liquifying oxycodone is challenging. Without completely liquifying the drug it allows small particles to continue to exist in the injection solution.
Liquifying oxycodone is almost impossible without introducing bacteria to the mixture to aid the liquefaction process, which then makes it probable that someone injecting oxycodone is also injecting potentially infectious bacteria directly into their bloodstream. While these risks are all serious, the most dangerous aspect of injecting oxycodone into the bloodstream is that the dose needed to create a high will be much smaller.

Extended-release versions of the drug, such as Oxycontin, are more potent than immediate-release versions of the drug.
How Long To Develp Oxycodone Addiction
But individuals seeking a high can crush or melt extended-release tablets to inject for a more intense and almost instant high. how to kick oxycodone addiction. As a result, Oxycontin addiction has become a rampant problem in the United States. People often wonder about the difference between hydrocodone and oxycodone. Both are semi-synthetic opioids, meaning they are made in a laboratory by modifying naturally occurring opiates, but they differ in potency.
This makes oxycodone riskier in terms of the potential for overdose and serious effects. Both are dangerous, however, and can lead to dependence and addiction. When prescribed by a doctor and used as directed, oxycodone side effects are usually mild. Nausea Loss of appetite Dry mouth Dizziness Stomach pain Drowsiness Sweating Headache Constipation Mental fog But using opioids such as oxycodone longer than absolutely necessary can easily lead to physical dependence and addiction.
A person can develop a tolerance to oxycodone in as little as two weeks. As their tolerance increases, they’ll need higher doses of the painkiller to feel the same effect. With continual use, an individual will become dependent on the drug and suffer distressing withdrawal symptoms upon cessation. Oxycodone withdrawal is similar to withdrawal from other opioids.
How Long Oxycodone Addiction
The duration and intensity of withdrawal symptoms can vary widely, depending on the extent of the dependence. People who’ve been using larger amounts of oxycodone for longer periods will typically suffer more severe symptoms. Several states have adopted three, five and seven-day limits for first-time opioid prescriptions. Some retailers, including CVS, Walmart and Sam’s Club, have decided not to fill more than a 7-day supply for certain conditions.
Dependence occurs when a person needs a drug to feel normal but does not result in compulsive behaviors. Individuals who are addicted to oxycodone exhibit compulsive behavior and misuse the drug despite negative consequences. I would of spent the rest of my life with you. We could of been happily ever after...like you were my prince charming. You were my fairy tail. You're the last one, that made me feel so complete...
Tumblr media
I was 22..almost 23. I was so sick. I was nonstop vomiting and uncomfortable. I was on the pill. But 99% wasn't enough. I was 16 weeks along. Holy fuck...how did that happen?! I had a lot of spotting, enough for me to think it was my time of the month. I was supposed to be starting the academy for my career.
I found out about you, after a syncopal episode which landed me in the ER. I didn't know how to tell him. I was so scared to loose him. But I had to.
I got a sneak peak of you, in the ER.  I was still in total shock, but over the moon in love, and terrified at the same god damn time.
Adoption?  Abortion?  Have you and try to take care of you?  I don’t want you to end up like me, struggling your entire life.......failing,...w/no support.  But the “butterflies” and sudden onset of feeling my stomach flip was you.   I could feel you.  I thought the weight in my belly was actually from the beer...but it was you.    I begged the staff in the ER to keep it down low, because he didn’t know yet......and I just didn’t know what I was going to do.
The tech looked at me and told me, “girl you’re out of the hardest part...the first trimester....you’re gonna be alright!”   I left there with an awful picture they barely could print for me, I couldn’t tell what the hell I was even looking at,...but it was you.
I followed up with the doctor.  Blood work and all.  I talked about the options.  She asked what kind of support I would have,....and after looking at her clueless, she asked what I do for a living, and just continued to look at me with that look of disgust and disappointment.  She wasn’t happy with my career and told me I would not be able to keep you safe.  She gave me information for people to talk to about “giving you up”.
I didn’t want to give you up.  I wanted you.  I wanted him.  I wanted us.  He, to this day, is the one guy that I would of spent the rest...of my life with, happily.  He came in to my life when I was just a fucking mess.   All calm and shit.  And just was relentless.   But he was never mine.  I think I still love him.  I think I will die loving him.  I still miss him...his good, his bad...and all the in between.....but I loved you more.
Then the ultrasound came. He didn't want to come...but he couldn't admit that. He just made excuses cause he didn’t want to upset me.  He knew I was freaking out.  He wasn't ready for another baby. But...  I saw you. And I knew, what love really was that day. The tech played it cool, but wouldn't print me any pictures which made me sad. I was hoping I could bring one home to him and he would feel that love too........I didn't even make it home before my doctor called me, and asked me to come in.
"Your pregnancy is nonviable..." she said.
What the fuck does that mean?!
To continue with the pregnancy (I was now 18 weeks along) would threaten my life & cause you so much pain & harm.  But she had the nerve to inform me that you were a boy...and unhealthy, boy.
Osteogenesis Imperfecta type 2.
I had “options” - so they claimed.  The doctor was just, painfully uncaring.  She mentioned that I was young and could get knocked up again when I made better life choices...but highly suggested a late term abortion.  I called him, he didn’t answer.
I went home, a fucking god damn mess.  I was hyperventilating.  I should be relived, right?  I wasn’t ready for you....now I have an excuse, to give up..?  I just wanted him to answer the god damn phone.  I just wanted him to come fucking hold me until I couldn’t cry anymore.  How the fuck...how the fuck...I can feel you moving.  I can remember the way your heart JUST sounded...I can feel you moving.  How the fuck,..how the fuck.
I went to work the next day, eyes still puffy from my exhausting night of crying.  And i still heard nothing from him.
It wasn’t even an hour in our shift and the alarms went off for a call.  And it was a working structure fire.   And all I could think about was the doctors face of disgust with me when I told her I was a firefighter.  I was wrapping the hydrant with the five inch and stepped back on the truck, and the driver took off like a bat out of hell throwing me backwards to land on my back with a pack on.  and the pain was so bad that I was knocked out from it.
I don’t know how long I went unconscious for....but I woke up to my captain screaming for help.  I refused to go to the ER, cause I didn’t want the guys to know I was pregnant.  I didn’t want their pity.  They were like a fucking family to me.  And they knew about me and him, and I didn’t want them to have ill feelings towards him.  Urgent care it was.   They did the xray there w/o checking to see if I was pregnant.  I left there with a script for roxicet 30mg, oxycontin 40mg, somas & xanax because the doctor couldn’t understand why I couldn’t stop crying.  I was diagnosed w/several compression fractures & a concussion.  And left AMA, because they also wanted me to go to the ER.
They just slid me those scripts across the desk & said, “you know better, right?  don’t take more then you need...”
The guys at the firehouse called him.  He finally answered.  He showed up to take me home.  I couldn’t even tell him what happened.  All I could think about is I wanted to be out of pain.  And you.  All I could think about is, did I already hurt you?  All I could say to him was I need him and begged him not to leave me alone again...
“What are we gonna do about the situation?” he asked.
And without a thought, I just told him I would get an abortion.  He didn’t know I was too far for one.  He didn’t know I would have to be admitted to the hospital and have to be induced for this “abortion”..he didn’t know about the pain you and I were in.....I didn’t want to hurt him too.
He dropped me off at home because he had shit to do.  I called my doctor and scheduled an appointment for the next day, and cried myself to sleep in the worst pain of my life.
I went to the hospital, they induced me.  I was 20 weeks now.  They gave me pain killers through the IV.  They sadly asked if anyone was joining me.  20 hours later.....I delivered you.
There was no crying.  Just one little gasp.  You opened your eyes just a little when they wrapped you up and let me hold you......but you were already gone.
That day my heart shattered. It broke beyond repair.
I remember feeling you get cold. All the color left your tiny lifeless body, and I cried. I cried so hard I didn't think I would ever be able to stop. But I did, when I loss consciousness. I woke up to a ton of doctors around me, explaining to me, that you were gone. And I had to be transported to Philadelphia for a cardiac procedure, now.
Before they could finish explaining anything to me they loaded me in my IV with something to help me relax. The next month is like that.
I had WPW, and at Presby, they tortured me while doing the ablation. E v e r y t h i n g....h u r t.
They just kept giving me their sad eyes when asking what my pain level was because I would cry every fucking time they asked.
You were gone. He was not there. And I was alone. I didn't even know how I could get home. I didn't want to go home. I didn't want to exist.

Just an update: I hurt my back in addition to the issue with my foot, thanks to an uneven gait and just general issues that can come from walking unnaturally for a long period of time. I've temporarily upgraded to Roxicet and Flexeril which make me pretty much useless as a person so I apologize for any delays with regards to my WIPs. I have most of the next chapter of WWWOS done, a bit of CBTL, a revision of Ch1 of Bounty and several other little things coming down the pipe that I've been working on. In addition to all also been struggling overall with my self worth as a writer, questioning why I do this, if it even matters, if anyone even really cares. I just don't feel like I'm particularly good at this right now, playing the comparison game, getting hung up on mistakes or errors, and worrying far too much over what people think of me and my work. It's hard to be a sensitive person who attaches a lot of importance to these things and I'm just not really in the best place right now. I know some of you are probably sick of me going on about it. I'm trying to put a little distance so I don't overwhelm you with depressing, self flagellating posts. I don't want to bring anyone down or make anyone feel like they have to send me supportive messages. It's just where I'm at right now. I know logically it's just chronic pain on top of heavy medication and general post-fic posting sadness but it sucks and I'm sorry. I'm trying. I'm very grateful for this fandom and the people who do seem to genuinely enjoy what I've written, I hope I'll be able to continue soon.
