season 16 would be one of the best seasons of the show if a huge chunk of it didn’t suck so much, if that makes any sense

because the rest is *so good*, like So Good. but to get to it you have to face the horrors

it’s crazy how consistent of a theme avoiding responsibility/the reality of the present was in season 16. like across grif tucker AND carolina they were all trying to deny doing what they should be doing… and we can tie sarge into that too with him desperately trying to give himself MORE responsibility. and all of that can easily be tied into time travel. escaping from your present responsibilities either into the better days of the past OR through running from your past mistakes... god you can even tie it into donut if you wanted to. he’s being given a false responsibility and like interpersonally him BEING the reality of the present with how flamboyant he is. you can’t deny donut. he’s too loud. he’s too much. try to repress him all you want and he WILL shine through. he doesn’t die he doesn’t stay gone. he is the reminder of the things you have to do. of the way you treated him. of the reality you’re denying.

but like. none of this was even slightly relevant lmao.

Just rewatched seasons 15-17, I don’t know why so many people hate it so much. Like yeah it’s got its issues, just like literally every other season. I think the main plot is pretty dumb and the characters sometimes feel wonky, but I also think it has some really strong comedy moments and interesting branches of characterization.

Red Vs Blue season 16 did a lot of weird things, snd some poorly executed things, however one thing Season 16 did really well was the ending.

All season, the reds and blues have been twisted by chrovos and her plans of weakening time to free herself, and it’s been going pretty well, mostly, I’m pretty sure it was only Tucker and sister who were really messing with things, sarge and jax too, the rest were just relieving their lives or causing things to play out how they are meant to.

Eventually because time can’t be fixed that way, chrovos gets lucky and the reds and blues unite, aside from donut, to try and stop wash from being shot.

The plan is going well, Everyone is progressing properly except there is less people then there should be in temple’s base, yet the reds and blues carry on, except.

Grif has been the protagonist this season as well as last season kinda, and here he is lead away from his team to genkins.

Genkins rant about changing the world was kinda done wrong and likely misinterpreted by a bunch of people but what the main point is, the Reds and Blues are going to win and that’s bad, they are going to save their friend yet that is wrong.

Grif is given the chance to stop his friends yet grif has never been the best runner and his friends when united always win.

He rounds the corner and yells to them “Don’t, No” yet as he says it, they gun down the person who was to shoot wash and.

Immediately, time has stopped, the only thing heard was the echoing of the battle rifle, they have managed to break time itself, if only partially.

They are slowly consumed into that moment of broken time, everything is consumed by a white void, that moment they were in is dissolved and in its place is the vacuum that covers what remained of time, you can hear it pulling everything out into the unknown until Donut managed to strike Chrovos preventing her from escaping.

And in the end, something familiar, yet different, it’s not the same but it’s similar, the Deja Vu of season 5 has returned yet it’s repeating season 1, Tucker and Church are back up on that cliff yet Church doesn’t sound like himself.

Donut has definitely reached critical blorbo status for me. Wash may be my favorite, but man, Donut is my little meow meow.

Personally, I like the idea that he makes his innuendos intentionally, and also feigns ignorance deliberately. Maybe it was his way of gaming the homophobia system back home. Where he could still be himself and not get called out on it. Because he'd act like he didn't know what it meant. Present himself as innocent. So someone that doesn't like that wouldn't *want* to tell him what it means to "beat a man off" because then that would mean *he* knows what that means and drag the attention away from Donut regardless. Who presents himself as so "pure" that it comes back around to being dirty. He's not that, but the plausible deniability was enough to keep himself safe. And from there it just became a habit he kept into Blood Gulch.

context: i never watched rvb zero, i watched one episode and just never felt the desire to continue watching it

however i am currently rewatching the rvb series with a friend who is watching it for the first time, so i'm willing to give rvb zero a chance once we get to it. maybe it isn't as bad as i saw people say it was

but i got curious and decided to look into the reactions towards it and also learned a bit more about how the season was made and all i can say is

what the fuck were they thinking
