"It's been a while since I had a human body."
Epsilon, you have never had a human body. You were an egg and then a chip and then an egg again and then a floating ball with a laser face and now you're an egg a third time but this time lucid dreaming. Your only frame of reference for "having a human body" would be exomemories from Wash or the Director or potentially downloaded from Alpha in the five minutes you were next to him in S6. /hj

This has probably been discussed to death in terms of Tumblr analysis and fanfic since the season came out 10 years ago (wow) but I started watching Red vs Blue in 2011 so while most people were discussing season 9, I was binge watching seasons 1-9 so
What were the Reds and Blues doing while Church was trapped in the Epsilon unit and why couldn't we get that story?
Did they go back to Valhalla? Blood Gulch? How did Wash integrate in with them at that point in time? How much time passed? Why did they never go back for Donut (not that the cast has a good track record for burying dead teammates)? What about Kaikaina and Junior? How did Carolina find them?
We should have gotten that miniseries tbh

More Season 9 Memory Unit but its just the ais
Delta: It depends on the crime. Nothing with animals. See, they want someone with a free and independent spirit. Something that they can crush into a raw material that can then be molded into what they really want. Theta: What do they really want? Delta: They don't know. Which is why you have to tell them what they want without actually telling them what to do. Theta: That sounds hard. Delta: That's why we're doing lessons. Theta: Should I...should I be taking notes? Delta: Do you even know how to write? Theta: Is that another trick question? Can I answer it at the end?

#kinda surprised about the drop off for the pfl arc
It’s literally just S9 TBH. S10 goes back up to a 9/10, which is higher than anything outside of my Top 3.
But Season 9... Half of it is really good. The Freelancer parts are pretty darn solid, not quite as good as S8 or S10 but still up there. I love Tex’s introduction, the first half of Carolina’s gradual downfall, getting introduced to North and CT, seeing York, South, Wash and Maine as they were, it’s all pretty solid stuff.
But then... there’s Epsigulch.
Epsigulch is among the worst RvB has ever given us. We spend the first quarter of the season with the Reds all OOC, and then Church talks to them and they go back to normal. It spends a lot of time repeating ideas from S1-5, but not as funny.
And then Tex dies and it’s neither well-foreshadowed or well-earned.
We spend the better part of two seasons having it hammered into Church’s head that he can’t and shouldn’t control Tex, that he has to stop deciding things for her... and then he decides to just delete her without her input.
The PFL stuff from S9 is the only thing that stopped me giving it a 2.

Opinions on RvB’s quality, season-to-season.

An Incomplete List of Things Sarge has at Least Attempted to Fight
-The Blues (obviously)  -The entirety of Project Freelancer  -Grif -Nature (in a PSA) -Gravity (season 15) -An entire planet. Not the planet's population, as is usually implied by that phrase, but the planet itself (Season 9 - admittedly that’s Epsilon’s memory of Sarge, but still) -(feel free to add any I’ve forgotten, I haven’t seen every miniseries or PSA plus I have a terrible memory)
Sarge just wants to fight. He needs to fight something. Someone please fight this man. You'd be helping him

Showed a friend the freelancer arc tonight and something kinda stuck with me. Epsilon said Tex was always doomed to fail because she was based off a failure, off a shadow. But he wanted to see Allison. Wanted to get her right so he could see her one last time. That's why Church and Epsilon chased her down so endlessly until Epsilon decided to let her go. They always made it seem like it was Tex's fault. Her failure was her own despite why she existed in the first place. But it was never about Tex's failure. It was the director's failure to let go and his failure to move on. It always comes back to Allison but it's never actually been about her. I guess it just bothers me that's so easy to miss even when you're paying attention.
