Deaged Oz AU - Rumors Out Of Atlas

Have the next Tipverse bit, set just after that news article... the one where Ironwood slipped up. He's not that good at handling the media in this, and it comes back to bite him a little bit. Warning, Vale's council, or at least certain members thereof, are really not very nice.

"Did you hear the news? Apparently they found one of the kidnap victims..." The man saying that sounded strangely amused, a doubting light in his eye. But then, there were always rumors out of the other kingdoms, and with Atlas on lockdown, that meant that anything they heard was likely to be highly spurious, at best.

"... what kidnap victims?" his companion asked, sounding curious. But then they were quite a lot younger than the other man, and neither of them were in Atlas at the moment, it stood to reason that he wouldn’t know the story. Kidnapping happened all the time, and Oak had the sinking impression that he hadn’t actually specified the kidnapping victims in question.

It was hard sometimes, though, to remember that those of his friends that hadn’t actually grown up in Atlas were far less likely to have heard of it. Everybody there knew about the snatched children, it had been far too public to be hidden after the first few vanished. It had quickly gotten far too high profile to keep much of a lid on, anyway. Some of those snatched… well…

“The kidnap victims. You know, the ones out of Atlas? The Winchester girl, that Arc brat… one of the Schnees?”

“One of the Schnees was kidnapped?” They sounded genuinely confused and slightly hurt by the look of disgust Oak shot them at the question. Oak was a big enough person to acknowledge that he wasn’t really being fair to them, but he wasn’t in the mood to try to explain. He’d known one of the victims, at least slightly. They’d been something along the lines of a friend of a friend… maybe with a few other friends in between, but it wasn’t like he had absolutely no connection to the case! Not like some people. If he concentrated, he could almost remember their face…

“Not one of the current ones. Look, look it up, would ya? I don’t have time to explain.” Oak stood up, gulping down the other half of his whiskey in one. His slight wince was the only sign that he’d noticed the burn, but he needed to be somewhere else. Maybe finding a few of his older friends would make sense right now? They might be more understanding than these young puppies were. He didn’t miss Atlas, not really… but it was so hard to judge just what people in Mistral would really care about. He couldn’t be the only one, but he’d been expecting to hear more about it by now. If it was even real, with Atlas, you could never really tell…

The dark skinned woman scoffed to herself as she leant on a wall, listening. It was always interesting just how much gossip could be learned, if only you listened for it. But then, Headmaster Theodore had been strangely careless as to his reaction to this particular piece of news. That it had come to him meant that it was more than likely actually legitimate, but she couldn’t really work out just what was so important about finding a kidnap victim. She was only just old enough to remember the news of the ring when it had broken originally, but surely the fact that it had taken them a quarter of a century to find whoever this was meant that nobody was really looking too hard? She’d been to Atlas before, she knew just how meticulous they were about identifying visitors. Especially right now, with whatever bee had gotten into Ironwood’s bonnet. But then, what had happened to Beacon had probably shaken him, it had shaken most of them. She’d actually liked Ozpin, why couldn’t it have been Ironwood that had died? Nobody would really miss him…

That was probably a bit mean of her, but nobody she knew could really stand the man at the best of times, and whatever was happening in Atlas right now was certainly not that. There had been a few defectors, and the tales they told of just how strict things had gotten? Well, they were welcome here in Vacuo. Anybody fleeing what was starting to sound more like a regime than a kingdom always was.

She wondered if that was why Theo had locked himself away in his office for a few days, or if there were other reasons. It could well just be coincidence, or even something else Ironwood had done that had annoyed him, it was never that easy to tell. It still surprised her at times, that nobody had killed Ironwood yet, but that was out of her hands. Vacuo was too far from Atlas to sent an assassin, and besides, Theo would be terribly disappointed in them if that was to happen.

It wasn’t really that important right now anyway, she mused, listening to the students talk. They’d already changed the subject, not that she could really blame them. If it was long ago to her, what must it be to them? Their parents might have cared more, but then again, probably not. Especially since one of those snatched had been a Schnee… not Jacques’ kid, though. At least she didn’t think that hey had been? Eh, probably didn’t really matter. Hopefully, whoever they’d found might still have a family waiting for them.

She sighed again and stalked off towards her classroom. Rumors or not, these lessons weren’t going to teach themselves.

There were a few members of Vale’s council that were rather less than impressed when the news broke that Atlas had recovered one of the kidnapping victims. It had been so long ago that most of them merely felt happy for them, almost hopeful. Kidnapping wasn’t exactly an Atlas only problem, and all four kingdoms had lost people over the years. The hope in all bar three of their member’s faces seemed to blind them to the turmoil brewing in the exceptions.

All three were old guard, had been on the council for at least thirty years. Had worked hard to make themselves so indispensable that it would have been unthinkable to replace them. Had been voted in, time after time, on the loyalty of those they catered to. Had hoped, independently of each other, that Atlas might have forgotten the lost children.

That Atlas had supposedly found one lit no warm fires in any of their hearts, especially with the heavy implication that it was one of the Atlas four. While none of them much cared if they had located Reuben Arc or Liliana Ironwood, the same couldn’t be said for the other two. It was vaguely possible that a lot of their control had slipped through their fingers when Beacon fell. Nobody had actually found Ozpin’s body  and while none of them ever spoke of it, they all knew who he had once been.

Wren Winchester was also a possibility, but they rather thought she would have reacted by now, made her displeasure known if nothing else. It was so galling, to have to pay her all the money they hadn’t paid Ozpin over the years. They’d gotten so used to padding their pockets, knowing that he was too cowed to really complain about their treatment of him. They’d raised him, shaped him… surely nobody would begrudge them profiting from it?

But now, now Atlas knew… something. They weren’t really certain what that something was, but things were changing. They just hoped it really was Reuben Arc, he would be far easier dealt with than Ozpin would.

If he was alive. If Atlas had somehow found out about at least part of the deception. If. There was no way to know, though. Reaching out to the other kingdom would be highly suspicious at best, tantamount to an admittance at worst. All of them had seen the mess that battle had made of Beacon though. If Ozpin lived, surely he’d be injured, unable to hide?

No, they couldn’t have actually found Winter Schnee… surely they’d know by now?

What about RWBY AU where Ilia goes to Beacon instead of Blake, who instead retreats back to her parents before making her next move.

Series: RWBY AU Criteria: Ilia goes to Beacon in stead of Blake, who goes home instead. AU title (optional): Team RAYS

RAYS - Ruby, Amitola, Yang, Schnee

While Blake goes home to her parents, who eventually get told what Adam is doing, and handle the young man according to their traditional policy, Ilia is ordered to distance herself from him, and arrangements are made to help her infiltrate and spy on the school.

There is a tense moment when she and Weiss first meet, however she notices that the tension was her responding to Ilia's hostilities instead of being a Faunus. In fact the girl is surprising Pro-Faunus and just anti-White Fang. It seems that the violence on some of the other families of the SDC board were against others she'd known, and she had suffered by her father's tightening control over her and her siblings as a result.

Side bonus is Weiss is willing to work with Ilia on gathering information, in exchange for them targeting Jacques in the political arena for the time being. Surprisingly, having someone more than willing to turn over evidence of shady business practices, and illegal actions is more effective than killing him.

She would like to not be on the wrong side of Ruby, thank you. Yangry she can handle, but Ruby is something else.

She finds herself joining a 'club' for Faunus rights at Beacon, other members include CVFY, JNPR, her teammates, and many more students (OCs). They often discuss 'proactive removal of anti-Faunus people' within the school, including a bully named Cardin.

Jaune: honestly with Jaune he thinks he is crazy for enrolling without Arua but gains a respect for Jaune

He would also get rid of his Fang mask and train himself to fight blindfolded so if he ever gets blinded temporarily he still can throw dem hands without problems

I do like the premise, and I can see it happen, BUT I also think that a few things should be tweaked so it's not just rewriting Adam as an OC insert.

First of all, let's start with WHY Adam would leave the White Fang at all. For this, I suggest the same reason he attacks Beacon with them; Blake. As Blake attempts to leave the White Fang, what if Adam makes it over to where Blake is and demands she explains herself. Blake, steeling herself, tells Adam that she's done with the White Fang going on their murder spree, and if Adam thinks he can change her mind, then he should just kill her right now. Adam decides to humor Blake and leaves the White Fang with her. The two then flee to Beacon, the closest academy, and enroll to become students.

However, due to Adam's much more recognizable appearance, he decides to stay in the shadows of Vale while Blake attends Beacon. Assuming there's a primarily Faunus neighborhood in Vale, I'll assume this is where he's hiding out. But he still needs lien, so he calls on an old friend, a fellow deserter by the name of Tukson, and gets a job stocking books for him while keeping an eye and ear out for Blake.

During the events of the Volume 1 finale, I'd assume Blake runs back to Adam, who welcomes her with open arms, but the tender moment is broken by the arrival of Sun, who tries to convince her that not all humans are bad. Adam is about to argue when Tukson joins in. Adam swallows his pride, and some bile, and keeps his mouth shut, though he does get a kick out of the fact that Blake stood up to a Schnee.

During Volume 2, I can see Adam pitching in to help Team RWBY with their investigation of the White Fang. Adam keeps out of sight of Emerald and Mercury as Tukson is murdered. With nowhere else to hide, he flees for Beacon to warn Blake, where he meets Team RWBY. It's here that I'll discuss what their relationships would be like.

Ruby - I can see Ruby giving Adam a chance since he's a friend of Blake. She also doesn't really understand why there's so much animosity between Adam and Weiss, so she chalks it up to both parties having negative opinions of the other. To Adam, Ruby is just an ignorant child with no understanding of how the real world works.

Weiss - The two have a mutual distaste for one another. Weiss hates Adam because he's responsible for her turbulent home life and how he's suddenly forgiven just because he's "Blake's friend". He despises her because of the horrible atrocities committed by her father. At one point, their argument gets so heated that Adam reveals his scar, leaving Weiss stunned at her legacy branded across his face. This is where I feel like the two could start getting along better with Weiss apologizing for her company maiming him. Adam says it doesn't change all the horrible things that they did, but he does accept her apology, but only her and not the SDC. They're still hostile, but much less so than when they started.

Blake - I feel like Blake is caught between two worlds with her history in the White Fang and her friendships with Teams RWBY and JNPR. This also puts her in a great position to be a mediator between him and them, giving his side of the story to them and their side to him.

Yang - Yang TRIED to be friends for Blake, but the looks Adam gives her are the same she'd gotten from Raven growing up. To her, he sees her as an obstacle to what he wants, which is Blake. Since meeting, Yang's grown less friendly with him, but she can still put on a smile to keep Blake happy. And in her defense, she's not wrong for thinking something that's true.

JNPR - I'll summarize it into one section and say that Adam and Team JNPR are at opposite ends of indifference. Adam sees JNPR as a bunch of humans who will go on to support the SDC and subjugate more Faunus for the kingdoms, but takes Blake's word that they're nothing like that. Jaune doesn't know a thing about Adam or the White Fang, so he just trusts the judgement of his friends. Jaune does get a bit of brownie points when Adam hears that he stood up to Cardin for Velvet. Pyrrha knows about Adam and is especially cautious around the former White Fang member, mostly because he was at a higher rank than Blake, which means he's a lot stronger than her. Adam also knows about Pyrrha and just sees her as someone as bad as Weiss or Ruby; an ignorant human living blissfully unaware of the plights of Faunus around them. Nora and Ren don't really have much of an opinion on Adam, though they understand the danger of having a former White Fang member nearby. Adam doesn't have much to dislike about the two, other than the fact that they're both humans.

I'll finish this up by explaining how I think he'd be involved in the White Fang in Vale. I could see him swooping in during the events of Volume 2 and taking back the White Fang after Roman Torchwick is arrested. He'd offer them a place in his new White Fang, promising them a piece of the humans who tricked them into attacking like they did. The White Fang then cheer for Adam as he smiles and looks over Vale, plotting and scheming how best to bring Blake back to his side.

It's 5 am brain fart time!

So Imagine a RWBY modern AU in which Weiss/Eis (is still pending) and Ruby are a happy married couple with their 8 kids (yes I have a bunch of OC WR babies). Ruby and Weiss themselves are normal people, Weiss is the CEO of the Schnee company and Ruby is housewife and Author (or something else).

Their oldest daughter Amaranth Schnee is in Highschool. But she is no ordinary teenager, nope, she is a hero like kim possible. With the help of her younger siblings, of whome one is a genius inventor who is constantly building new gedjets and another one is her tech support, they go on missions to safe people, fight evil masterminds who are trying rule over the world, are are trying to earn a fortune from their evil doings or other things they need to be stoped from.

One of such evil guys is a fellow student of her school, who is sick of Amaranth and her sibling constantly getting in the way of his plans.

So he invents a device to travel back in time, and prevent Ruby and Weiss/Eis ever meeting, or start dating so their kids will never be born.

Through circumenstances Amaranth ends getting dragged back in time with him. So now she has to find her parents and make sure they end up as a couple.

Easier said than done!

Turns out that Weiss/Eis has a crush on Ruby and everytime she tries to talk/flirt/ask her out she gets so flustered that she ends up doing something mean to Ruby.

So of course Ruby sees Weiss as her bully and just wants to be left alone by her.

(In the OG timeline did Weiss save Ruby's life, by prevrnting her from being hit by a car, or drowning or whatever. It's 5 am haven't thought of it yet!)

So the evil guy is nice to Ruby, and helps her whenever someone hurts her or is bullying her. He is intentionally flirting with her (yes he has the hots for her) and tries to date her himself so Weiss won't have a chance.

So now Amaranth has to stop that guy from seducing her mom, hel her other mother/dad get her shit together and help her get closer to Ruby and ask her out.

And find a way back into her own timeline without destroying anything that could be bad for the future timeline!

Midnight "Madds" Maddison: Former student of Beacon Academy, now an established clothing designer for Huntsmen Outfitters. Shop located in Vale, often lends his expertise to students.

Sebastian Silke: Moth faunus former student of Beacon Academy, now a wealthy Dust magnate based out of Eastern Vacuo. Largest commercial rival to the SDC, and personal rival and enemy to Jacques. Possibly has been providing Dust to the White Fang?

Hozukimaru Wukong: Sun's distant father. Monkey faunus, and Combat Instructor at Shade Academy in Vacuo. Also was third founding member of the White Fang, and continues to support their actions and missions in secret.

Team CROS: An all-Faunus team of Huntsman students at Beacon Academy, currently in their fourth and final year of studies.

Caine Taurus: Team Leader of CROS and younger brother to Adam/Eve Taurus. Secretly infiltrated Beacon to recruit other Faunus to the White Fang's mission. Bull faunus.

Roman Westward: Caine's partner and teammate, hailing from Vacuo. Grew up on a ranch and has a history dealing with bandits and cattle rustlers. Horse faunus.

Orion Verte: Seven foot tall and seven foot wide beast of muscle and mass. Hails from Patch and was a childhood friend of Ruby and Yang before he moved. Bear faunus.

Sirius Silbern: Orion's partner, hailing from Atlas. Son of Fenris Silbern and Willow Schnee, raised by his father when it became clear he was a faunus. Wolf faunus.

The Zirconias: A powerful family of Grimmfolk who live at the northern-most point of Solitas, hidden by a perpetual blizzard.

Baelfieyr Zirconia: Commonly referred to as Baelz. The father and founder of the house, turned into a Grimm by the Brothers over 10,000 years ago. Also generally married to Pyrrha Nikos, among a few others who stumbled upon his hidden castle.

Zephyr Zirconia-Nikos: Baelz's firstborn and eldest son. Takes after his father closest out of all of his children, and has already been made aware will be taking over lordship once Baelz decides to move on.

Scarlet Zirconia-Nikos: Baelz's second-born and eldest daughter. A prodigy in magic and the first of his children to learn how to travel across the dimensions. Also has a great love of the arts.

Lupin Zirconia-Nikos: Baelz's third-born and last by Pyrrha. Woefully untalented in magic, but known for being extremely hard working and genuinely dangerous in hand-to-hand combat. Tends to wander, looking for a place to be useful.

Bast Zirconia-Belladonna: Baelz's first-born by Kali. Partially a cat faunus and notoriously lazy. Tends to sleep her days away, avoiding responsibilities, and sneaking away for lively night parties.

Shrike Zirconia-Branwen: Baelz's first-born by Raven. Known for being extremely shy as a child and nervous around people when she was younger. Now a bit more open, enjoys traveling to other dimensions and doing some sight-seeing and friend-making.

Krystal Zirconia-Schnee: Baelz's first-born by Weiss. Extremely gifted in both her mother's Glyphs and her father's Magic. Particularly mischievous, leading more people to the castle.

Cherrybomb Alistair: Shark Faunus daughter of Fox Alistair and Neopolitan in the not too distant future. Known for her spunky and cavalier attitude, and her attraction to older men—especially professors. Currently attending Beacon Academy.

Garnet Foxx: Fox faunus performer and porn star, very popular on the spicy porn site OnlyFauns. Attended lower-level Huntsman schools but never pursued a full Huntsman training. Based out of Vale.

Yukon Gold: Bison faunus hailing from central Vale, mostly a humble woodsman handling a diminishing logging business. Has an innate distrust of Huntsmen, and so deals with Grimm by himself.

Calypso Nightshade: The younger sister of Kali Belladonna. Known as Lady Nightshade, a popular lounge singer in Mistral. Also known for her sexual performances in White Fang associated hang outs.

Acai Nymphaea: Third year Haven student known for skipping classes and sneaking off campus for some extra fun. Would rather be doing anything other than learning to be a huntress.

Chandra Nocturne: The boss of the Midnight Crime family in Atlas. Keeps up the appearance of a beautiful and mysterious socialite and entrepreneur in social life while secretly controlling the city.

Rowan Hollow: The new Grimm Studies professor at Beacon Academy. Gruff and surly badger faunus dealing with a bit of personal trauma and grief from his time as a huntsman.

I will say, I don’t have that many hobbies, but I what I love doing the most in my free time is writing, listening to music, singing, watching shows and movies, and daydream endlessly for hours on end if I can.

RWBY; Rule of Darkness takes place on an alternate version of remnant, where it is shrouded in darkness from the fact that, instead of the moon being shattered, it was the sun. Semblance have adapted to produce either light, heat, or support and grow life on Remnant.

The RP has just begun! Just barely starting initiation! There aren't many canon characters taken yet, and if that's not your style, it's very OC friendly!

Holy Shit I Actually Decided to Post on AO3

Hello everyone! My name is JJ2.0 and I've been a longtime RWBY fan. the SMMR of RWBY and FNDM RTX event finally pushed me to actually upload one of my WIP fanfics to ao3.

OCHRE is an OC-Centric RWBY fic based around my OC, Cedar Synai. After being coerced into debt, he is forced to work as an enforcer for Junior's Clan while still having to keep up his duties as a Beacon student. Both his past faults and current double life keep threatening to bring his fragile house of cards crashing down.

I'm pretty proud of it! The first four chapters I've uploaded constitute a sort of introductory narrative arc which establishes all the pieces i've put on the board. You can read it here:

7. Talk about three of your oldest OCs.

First ever OC (Assigned at birth): Baby Blaster, a character I played in my older brother's sci-fi games along with our neighbours. As I got old enough to actually engage in the pretend play, I styled the character after my favourite Sci-fi characters. Baby Blaster was a wrench monkey mechanic with a laser pistol on his hip and an energy whip on his back. He maintained the ace starship of the Tyrannus Army, and always had a gadget ready in his back pocket.

First ever OC (that I actually got to name): King Spider, the co-Protagonist of the comics I made with my best friend back in kindergarten and grade 1. He was a spider that wore a crown and went on adventures with Queen Dragon, travelling by web-swinging and killing people with a venomous bite.

First ever OC (Not a self-insert): The Lightning Wizard was the protagonist of a series of short stories written in a creative writing/computer class in the 3rd grade. He lived on top of an active volcano, sold laptops door to door, and could summon Pikachu with a rhyming chant. Still holds a spot in my heart as the first stories I wrote as someone trying to be a writer.

11. Which OCs do you feel like you know the best?

Maria Halvtover and John Astentia, biological parents of Asher Scrubtover, the protagonist of my fantasy story/setting. Whereas all of my major characters still have a lot of space to fill, and tales unwritten, Maria and John are backstory elements. Despite this, I have a strong sense of everything that must have happened in their lives such that Asher is raised in the circumstances that he ended up in. To put the characters attitudes and dynamic incredibly briefly: John would say he and Maria were like Jaune and Pyrrah from RWBY, whereas Maria would say they were like Robin and Ted from HIMYM.

28. Name an OC who's changed a lot from their original design/personality.

Xandra Windbritches, the teacher leading the five protagonists of my fantasy story across the continent, was originally just a genderswapped Uncle Iroh figure. As I developed the story further and pushed around my ideas, I became more aware of the fact that Uncle Iroh is not nearly as engaging of a character when made into a woman, and that Xandra is a much more interesting figure as a stubborn hardass teacher that truly believes in her students.

Briar Rouge! I wonder how readers have been imagining her so far. Oh! I also imagine her voice would be Erica Lindbeck! Specifically somewhere in her Lady Nagant range, a bit deep/low, kinda...dry? Done TM? These doodles were actually from January but then the rest of January happened. You'd think I have a better idea of my OCs but I forgot her glove design and only looked at her description AFTER so...yeah lol

Ao Bai! One of the Vacuo transfer students! If any of you know Lego Monkie Kidd, its rather obvious who he's ultimately based on. Sorry for bad lighting, I didn't want to use flash or get up to get an actual flashlight. Also I think this is the second outfit I gave him? Yeah second. Might change the hair but I already described it as long aaahhh. Writing wise I had him on a different team before but then I changed his lore a bit after researching/diving into the RWBY wiki.

Ada Gattini! Ao Bai's teammate! When I changed Ao Bai's lore, I ended up changing his team too, and now Ada is here! I also feel like its obvious who she's based on but this is RWBY, where Snow White wears all white, has white hair, and is named "White Snow" and then there's Sun Wukong based on Sun Wukong oh wow I wonder who Sun Wukong is based on. Ada and Ao Bai's sketches were messily done yesterday, I thought I did those warm ups right but I think I actually need to do anatomy for a bit 😭
