Relax (Price x male oc)
Here a little shit post for one of my cod ocs :]
(Could be seen as Price x male reader since not much is described about my oc other than his name and type of hybrid)
Word count: 598
Warnings: none :D, just a lot of fluff
Tumblr media
Gabriel ‘Scout’ Alvarez is a new member of the 141, though he’s unlike the rest of the team. Apart from the fact that he’s a hybrid, he is also a private. The 141 is meant to be made up of high roles, like Sergeants and Lieutenants, but they’ve made an exception for Scout.
He skips through the halls of the 141’s building, tail swishing behind him. As he passes by Captain Price’s office, he hears what seems like stomping inside. Against his better judgment, he takes a peek inside the room.
There he sees an annoyed Price, slumping back onto his desk chair and gripping a pencil so hard it looks like it’ll snap in half. Scout takes a step inside the room and Price looks up at him.
“Do you need something Private?”
“I notice that you look stressed”
“Great observation, anything else?”
“I was wondering if I could try something out?” Scout bounces on his feet.
“..like what?”
“Here just..-“ Scout cuts himself off as he walks towards the Captain’s desk. He kneels down on the floor beside Price's leg and rests his head on the thigh.
“And what’s this supposed to be?” His voice sounds scarily stern.
“Dog therapy, I’ve tried it with a few of my friends in the past and it helped so I thought maybe it would help you..” His head turns to the side nervously, looking away from the captain.
Price lets out a sigh but after a second his left hand is placed on top of Scout's head, between his ears. He begins to gently scratch and pet the hair on Scout's head which leads to the mutt letting out a content huff. The sound of his tail hitting against the floor board can be heard as Price gets back to his work, surprisingly a bit more relaxed now.
—————————
Gaz takes a step into the captain’s room, wanting to ask a question about the latest mission, but immediately stops in his tracks as he sees the scene in front of him.
Price looks up from his desk towards Gaz. “Need something?” He says in a friendly and relaxed tone, continuing to pet Scout.
“Um yes.. sir I was wondering….” He asks Price the question, to which price answers, before sending him out of the room.
Gaz walks towards the small kitchen in the rec room of the 141’s building, where Soap is inside, eating some cereal.
“You will not believe what I just saw in the captain's room” Gaz says exasperated, as he leans against the counter beside Soap.
“What did you see?” Soap replies, his mouth still full of food.
“It was the new guy, Scout, he was like sitting on the floor with his head on Price’s knee as price per his hair?” Gaz sounded confused as he explained the situation.
“Holy shite, so he does act like a dog.” Soap sounds amused.
Gaz shrugs.
“I wonder if he’ll roll over if I tell him to”
Gaz lets out a laugh. “Oh come on, he’s partially a human too”
Soap grins and shrugs as he takes another bite of the food.
—————————
Price takes his hand off of the private’s head as he is about to stand up for a smoke break. Though he hesitates as he sees that Scout has fallen asleep on his leg, his tail is still lazily wagging behind him. After a second on thought, Price decides that he doesn’t need a break, and goes back to his work, his hand reaching over to Scout's head again to continue to pet him.

Kink blackguard doesn’t like?
Diego Mendez: He can’t do any roleplay where he has to say he hates his partner. He can top for a CNC scene, he can slap or belt or bite or roughly manhandle his partner, he can even hiss some pretty filthy and degrading things to them (although degradation isn’t his favorite, he WILL if asked), but he will not say he hates his partner. Even if he tries, I don’t think he can! It makes him too heartbroken! Sex and even violent sex are ultimately about ownership for him, and for Diego, ownership is the purest expression of love.
Lachlan Bishop: He can’t be a mean dom at all. He’s happy to be a pleasure dom, or a soft daddy, or even a brat tamer, and he can absolutely bottom for a mean or bratty dom or top, but he just doesn’t enjoy performing sadism or hard dominance! He doesn’t like punishment that doesn’t have any element of “funishment”. He especially can’t do any kind of 24/7 dominance - he doesn’t want to make decisions for his submissive outside the bedroom, or establish strict dynamics/protocols.
Kaminski: He doesn’t like getting tied up. I think part of it is he isn’t comfortable relinquishing that kind of control to another person, but it’s also that he just gets annoyed not being able to move around in the ways he likes (and he thinks the more intricate rope work takes too long! He’s impatient!).
Dave Alvarez: Overall, I think he generally steers away from the S/M part of BDSM. Light spanking and the occasional roughhousing are really the extent of it! He’s not really much of a masochist or a sadist himself, and although he can certainly enjoy some power dynamic roleplays, overall he prefers to play softer than some of the other Blackguard guys.
Valentine Chenoweth: He won’t act as the victim in a CNC scene if he’s being asked to act upset or distressed in the scene (by contrast, a non-con, gentle somnophilia scene is actually a kink of his! He doesn’t have to perform at all, just pretend he’s sleeping!). It puts him in a bad headspace and brings up some memories he’d prefer not to think about. He’s happy to dom for a CNC scene though, and he can MAYBE do it as the victim if he’s still topping… having someone tie him up and forcibly ride him, etc, although even that would still be approaching the limits of what he’s comfortable with.

Quick, suddenly inspired ridiculousness snippet. Miguel/Chico (Oz) but a No Oz AU. (Though it's more that they knew each other sooner, are friends, and didn't get caught, because they definitely aren't law-abiding in this.)
I don't know if I'll ever finish it into anything, and when that happens lately I've just been tossing the unfinished, first pass freshly written glimpses up here.
*
Hadn't even bothered wedging something in the door so it wouldn't shut and lock behind him when he'd dipped into the alley.
Each breath of air starting to turn crisp, or inhale of smoke into his lungs, just cleared his head into confirming that was the right decision. Miguel wasn't feeling it here tonight. Didn't find anybody carrying. Didn't have ‘Ritza's curves to writhe against in the club lighting, amidst the pounding beat and sweaty press of bodies that obliterated that hint of briskness outside.
Could've found some other curves, sure, ‘cause maybe ‘Ritza was really out this time, instead of just sweetly suggesting he change shit he didn't see a point in changing.
But it was really fresh, and maybe it was like always, where she'd follow his lead anyway, and she just needed the air to chill even more while she stayed with her moms.
Didn't matter when there wasn't any body or face he'd seen in the swirling shadows, any curves he'd taken a turn around at a respectful distance (or as respectful as he could be on the tightly packed floor) that had kept his interest.
So, yeah, dipped out for a smoke, not really caring about getting back in. His cigarette currently the only sad little soothe to his bloodstream, he ran through other possible spots to hit.
Tensed up from his slouch against brick at signs of movement at the head of the alley that wasn't just somebody walking past.
Was ready to flick his cigarette, free hand already slipping towards his blade at the decently sized figure heading his way. Not bigger than him, really–
–the point where the small bulb above, illuminating the side exit, chased away the backlighting from the street's light that had shadowed the figure's front enough to make out the guy…
…well it hit right as he would've recognized the fucker anyway, from his voice. And him being an (amusing) asshole– “Ahh, man, here I thought you were a pro ducked into the alley finishing up some trade, maybe looking for more. But nah– just Alvarez, getting some air from your clubbing.”
Jesus – a pro!?
“Yo, fuck you, Chico – not so dark my lack of tits ain't clear, so you would've been getting some dick, pendejo.”
Cackling came close, ducked over Miguel's shoulder as their dabbing turned into one-armed embracing, back thumping greeting.
Hadn't seen the guy in weeks, on account of him having to lay low and avoid any associate the cops might be looking to for his whereabouts.
Miguel let go of him, gaze kind of checking down the alley again. “Hey, you good, man? Motherfuckers came asking about you last week – it safe to be hitting haunts right now?”
They'd both been to this club, sometimes hitting it together, or with ‘Ritza and Chico's girl. (Who wasn't his girl at the moment, last Miguel had heard. Kind of in the same boat there now.)
Chico kind of tilted his head towards Miguel's smoke, still good because he'd carefully not smacked the cherry to shit against Chico's back a moment ago, snagging it for a drag when Miguel's response was holding it out.
Well. Didn't snag it. Didn't actually take it from Miguel at all, and like, hand it back like a normal person.
Just kept tilting his damn head, leaned down a little, and took that drag without even dislodging it from between Miguel's fingers, damply brushing them with his swiftness.
Spoke through smoke, words tightened by it a little, but calm and pleased. “Nah, got that sorted. Didn't do it, they figured that out eventually.”
“Sure ya didn't.”
Chico's laugh spilled all warm crackle into the alley's slight chill again. “No, for real this time! This, I didn't do!”
“Of course your ass would skate on the shit you did, but get hounded for somebody else's shit.”
Chico was peering at him even as he acknowledged that with equal amusement, his thoughts onto something else– “Heard you got new ink.”
Made sense, if he wasn't laying low anymore. Knew Miguel's guy.
More smoke in his lungs, released in a slow stream he watched with his nod.
Didn't bother explaining, because Chico's eyes were already on his arm, his hand clearly going to follow soon to tilt it more towards himself and the light.
Miguel was ready, willing, and able to swing at the fucker if– Alberto that first week, jabbing his damn finger into his healing tattooed lady's sweet parts like a fucking thrust, laughing. (Until Miguel had given him a joking little thrust in his fucking throat with his fist.)
–Chico didn't touch her. Touched Miguel. Tracing outside her curves like an inch away, not brushing the lines with the firm drag of his fingers, just following along like an aura with the rough catch of calluses along Miguel's skin.
So, Miguel didn't punch him. (Only stared.) Was healing nice and all, not tender or any– or so he'd thought. That little heightened buzz, maybe his flesh was still a little sensitive around the area or something and he hadn't noticed.
Chico's brow cocked up at him, grin dancing along his lips, amusement catching like a glassy glow under the one nearby light. “Went with a cute chica, huh? Nice.”
--Miguel tracked movement usually, had quick reaction time, could figure out fast when a fucker was going to– did not fucking correctly read the dip of Chico's head, lowering and closing the distance. Slowed Miguel's moves to a confused pause, because it didn't like, fucking compute.
Neither did Chico's fucking tongue – splashing wet heat over sensitized skin, drag quicker than his fingers had been, but still a little– languid, over his forearm, before slipping back down for a teasing fluttering flick over now damp skin –tip of Chico's tongue probably– also probably right around that artfully hidden pussy Alberto had been poking.
(This wasn't a poke. Sensitized, yeah, tender and alive and sending the prickling urge to shiver racing under his skin, even though the lap of tongue was so, so warm in the night air.)
Even warmer than the hand wrapped around Miguel's wrist, holding him in place, firm but easy like his earlier tracing touch.
“What the fuck–”
“–you trying to save money on skin mags or something? That the inspiration? Because I know this ain't your girl, Miguel.” Chico cut him off, unphased by Miguel's protest, still grinning when he let go and stood back up straight, eyes glittering now in the light, the way it caught on his casual mirth.
Like Miguel’s what the fuck was just… nothing, not serious, or not understandable, or not very, very heartfelt in the moment.
As if Chico licking his damn arm was normal in any way.
(Sure, Alberto had fucked with the tat, too, but the irritating poking made a lot more sense. Wasn't exactly weird, just rude enough to merit a real firm response.)
This was rude as fuck, too, but in a way that left Miguel speechless and staring.
(Alberto had known he'd been being a dick, had been testing a boundary, maybe, being a newish guy.)
Chico clearly thought he was just playing, being funny.
What the–

Bonds Stronger Than Blood - Guildmaster of Fairy Tail
Tumblr media
Laxus had...mixed feelings, to put it mildly, about being chosen for the position of guildmaster. It prompted the first one on one conversation between him and Makarov since the Grand Magic Games, but despite it not ending in an argument he still wasn't quite convinced. They left off with Laxus asking for some time before the announcement was made, to gather his thoughts and make a decision within a week.
This week was spent seeking advice -- the Raijinshuu, the other S-Class mages in the guild, a few others. The individual conversations varied, but the general consensus was the same -- the only one that seemed to be quite so worried about it was Laxus himself. He eventually did agree to it, on the condition he and the team took one last S-Class request on before he took up the mantle fully. An unsurprised Makarov agreed, and the announcement was made a day after the group returned.
Though he knew it might cause a bit of friction, Laxus wasted no time in lining out how he intended to change things within the guild -- starting with their relations with the Council. He didn't go into too much detail on what Makarov's connections had pulled for them in the past, but he did make it clear there would be far less tolerance for the property damage many Fairy Tail jobs caused. Fairy Tail would be the strongest guild, but with that strength would come responsibility. The Council wouldn't be painted as some sort of 'bad guys' constantly pushing them to disband for seemingly no reason -- when a mage is just as much a danger to the requester as they are to the target, that's a problem.
He wasn't merciless with it, however -- he offered to help train anyone that would need it on how to focus their magics if they found things difficult to control, and certainly wasn't expecting anything to change overnight. He'd talk with individuals privately about the worst infractions/what they needed to work on based on guild records, at a later point.
He'd also hint at an upcoming S-Class trial, with many of the Tenrou Team already on his mind. Though he would've liked to give them all the rank out of hand for their work fighting Acnologia and Alvarez, he's all too familiar with the risks of S-Class jobs -- he wouldn't send anyone else into that without ensuring they're ready. He'd already be working through plans in his mind of how to test someone, based on his experiences on requests and his own trial. He'd likely handle it differently from how Makarov did, mainly in having there be a trial period where an S-Class mage (in some cases Laxus himself, when he can) accompanies them to mentor/watch their progress. Instead of a yearly event, it would likely be something that's done year-round, one or two prospects at a time, depending on the S-Class mages' availability. Laxus avoids anything to do with Tenrou Island once the war is over, and would rather see that part of Fairy Tail's history over and done with.
Though he may sometimes be out working with an S-Class prospect, most any other time he makes it a point to be at the guild and available, should anyone need him. He's still a bit awkward at dealing with people, but being put in this sort of position is helping him learn to take the first step himself, if he needs to. His door's always open if someone needs to talk, and he can usually be found near the guild's bar or in his office. (He's got a decent feel for the noise levels and knows roughly when brawls are about to start; if someone else doesn't intercept before he gets out there, he will. He had a more durable training area built specifically for people to let off steam, if they need to.)
He also leans on the Raijinshuu and the other S-Class mages of the guild for support while going through these changes, setting an example (albeit mostly unintentionally) by both asking for help when he needs it and offering support to others that might.
[More TBA! This is mostly just drilling down the bigger points I made here. ]

Week 11 Digital Citizenship and Conflict: Social Media Governance
Hello guys!😆The topic that we will be unlocking now is about digital citizenship, social media governance and the conflict that happens online.📱
Tumblr media
In today’s technologically advanced world, digital citizenship is an important element for us during online. Digital citizenship refers to those who use the Internet effectively and regularly (Jabeen & Ahmad, 2021). It means that users use the internet and digital technology in a responsible, respectful and a safer way. It can shape our identity online through our online behavior. A person with good digital citizenship tends to communicate and interact with others politely, giving respect to others and thinking carefully before sharing information and commenting on others’ posts. They also understand how to protect their own personal data as well as to avoid spreading false information to the public. And of course, cyberbullying is one of the actions that definitely not be done by a good digital citizen. Digital citizenship education promotes safe and healthy online behavior while encouraging people to be proactive, thoughtful and respectful in online content creation (Tadlaoui-Brahmi, Çuko & Alvarez, 2022).
When we come across to social media governance, it refers to the formal or informal systems that oversee and regulate the actions and behavior of members of an organization within the social media environment (Soens & Claeys, 2025). It is to create a safe social media environment so that users can express themselves without fear of abuse. It also aims to reduce hate speech, spreading false information and online violence. Additionally, platform governance includes content moderation and legal regulations which helps in preventing harmful activities and to protect users and maintain trust in social media spaces.
Tumblr media
There are several types of online conflicts which include cyberbullying, hate speech, online harassment, doxing and trolling. Among all of these online conflicts, cyberbullying is the most serious case that happens as the situation is alarming and has been increasingly linked to a rising number of suicide cases (Rashid, 2024). According to Kee, Anwar & Vranjes (2023), Malaysia ranks second in Asia for cyberbullying problems. If people still did not use social media wisely, it can lead to more emotional harm, damage to reputation and even mental health problems, and thus leading to rise of suicide cases. Social harassment can also create a toxic online environment where users are afraid to express themselves or participate in discussions.
In conclusion, we must use social media wisely in order to become good and responsible digital citizens. Think wisely before posting, commenting and sharing. Let’s work together to make social media a safer and peaceful place where you can express yourself without fear!

WBC World and Ring Magazine World Super-Flyweight titles on the line on June 29 in Phoenix, live on DAZN
Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn     Welcome everyone to the incredible Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. This has become a real gem of a fight city for America and for all of Boxing. And what a fight we have for you on June 29, live on DAZN around the world. Two pound-four-pound greats collide. Of course, we have the reigning champion: the WBC and Ring Magazine Champion, Juan Francisco Estrada, going up against the two-division World Champion and one of the youngest stars in the sport today, the pound-for-pound great Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez.    This is another example of the sport coming together to give us the best fights. And what a time for the sport of boxing, particularly with our partners DAZN. Last week, you saw a great fight between Canelo Alvarez and Jaime Munguia live on DAZN. This weekend, we’re in Mexico for Rocky Hernandez and Erika Cruz’s world championship defenses. And, of course, next week, live around the world on DAZN, we have Fury versus Usyk from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship. Jai Opetaia and Joe Cordina, our charges, are defending their world titles, too. The week after that we have Jack Catterall against Josh Taylor in one of the most-anticipated all-British clashes before we go back to Riyadh the week after for Dmitry Bivol and the 5-v-5. All of that, live on DAZN before we go to Puerto Rico for Subriel Matias and then on to Philadelphia for ‘Boots’ Ennis – the press conference this Friday – wedged between June 29 when these two greats collide in what I think is the fight of the year so far.    There is so much to tell you about and so much to announce. This card is going to be incredible. Of course, already announced for this card is Sunny Edwards – who you all saw last time around against Bam – and he’s back against another former World Champion in Mexico’s Adrian Curiel. It’s a real, tough return for Sunny Edwards. Also on the card, we’re delighted to announce this brilliant clash between Robert Garcia’s charge, Arturo Cardenas, against a local Phoenix fighter, Danny Barrios, in what promises to be an absolute war. And, as we’ll talk about shortly, we’re in final negotiations for Ramla Ali to challenge for the world title against Mexico’s Yamileth Mercado for the WBC title. There’s so much more to come and to be added to this card taking place in this incredible town, and we are delighted to be back here at the Footprint Center. Tickets are now on sale, and they are already flying. We’re going to jam this place out – especially with, the day after, Mexico playing Ecuador [Copa America] here in Arizona, so this city is going to be absolutely buzzing.
Juan Francisco Estrada    I’ve been speaking about this fight and about my career with my promoter, Juan [Hernandez]. We did have other options for fights. [Kazuto] Ioka, the Japanese fighter, to go and face and unify. But we really wanted to fight against Bam because we believe it is a great fight. He was also a champion in the lower-weight division, so I thought it would be a great test for us to go in there. Also, it’s a great fight for the fans to enjoy, too.    I think Bam is a good fighter but you do have to say that. But I think if you look at his best victories like [Carlos] Cuadras, [Srisaket Sor] Rungvisai, then those guys were on the way out. The only good victory that he's had was the Sunny Edwards fight, which I was present for. Obviously, that was at a lower weight, and we’ll have to see what he’s like up here fighting against me at this higher weight class because I think that will be the difference on the night. Let’s see what happens on June 29 because I also come into this with a winning mentality and the mentality of winning this fight convincingly. If it is by KO, then even better.    It's going to be a wonderful fight, which people coming here can expect that. I’m coming in with a winning mentality, wanting to defend my title and go on to have even bigger fights in the future. Don’t rule out this being a wonderful fight and a wonderful show. But what is also really important is that we both come out of this ring safe and sound.
Jesse Rodriguez     Like Robert [Garcia] says, I will take on any fighter. If they drop your name, I will say yes right away. If it’s any other fight that’s not challenging, then I’m not interested. From here on now, it’s big fight after big fight. That’s what I’m here for: to give the fans the fights they want to see. They want entertaining fights and fireworks fights. You know that’s what I’m all about, and that’s what I’m here to do. I was probably about 13 or 14 when I first heard about Estrada. I was watching his fight against Chocolatito [Roman Gonzalez] and [Carols] Cuadras. So, to share the ring with him is an honor. But come June 29, all of that goes out the window. When it’s just me and him in the ring, I’m going to take what he has. I’m a different breed, and I’m a different animal. Come June 29 the whole is going to see that. I’ve proved people wrong, time after time. I’m just here to prove people wrong, and come June 29, expect fireworks.    People didn’t think I could stop Sunny [Edwards]. I’m pretty sure they don’t expect me to stop Estrada. But I believe in myself that I can do it and my team believes it. It’s a very hard task to do, but it is possible because nothing is impossible. So, come June 29, I feel like I am going to shock the world. Like Robert said, we’re not looking past Estrada. But we do have future plans and bigger plans than this. I’m already No.9 on the top pound-for-pound list. I feel like winning this will just put me even higher. I’d be able to hold the WBC for a second time and the Ring Magazine belt for the first time. Not a lot of fighters can say that title before, so that in itself is a blessing. The sky’s the limit, Eddie. Give me a name and I’m in there right away.
Robert Garcia    I know when my fighters are ready to step it up to the next level. When I started mentioning Arturo Cardenes to Kevin Rooney and yourself [Eddie Hearn], it took you a while, but you guys finally put him on one of your cards. It looks like you guys are happy with his performances and this kid was from Mexico’s National team when I brought him in. Since day one, on his pro debut. I knew this kid could be something special. And with Matchroom, DAZN, and yourself, I think after this fight – without disrespecting Barrios – then we are ready to step it up. I know it's going to be a difficult fight, but we’re excited to be here, and he can fight in front of a big crowd as he has done before. It looks like Phoenix, Arizona, is becoming our second home. The big fights are happening here, and my fighters are fighting here. We’re here often and I can’t wait for June 29 for Arturo and, obviously, for Bam.    I was a little worried that after a little while, I wouldn’t know what he was going to want. But we know that Estrada is a tough opponent and a great champion. I would probably say, and I don't think I’m mistaken, that this guy [Estrada] is the most talented Mexican right now when it comes to talent. He is a great. We’re honored and happy to be sharing the ring with him.    You know, I think I have the best Super-Flyweight in the division, and we’re going to show it on the day. We knew June 29 would be the day that we would be fighting, so I told Bam that we were working on Estrada and, hopefully, we could get him – if not, hopefully, we could fight someone else. But immediately, he said to me that if it was not against Estrada, he would rather wait a few more months and spend time with my newborn girl and my family than fight later in the year. But you guys did a great job to finalize the fight and now we’re here. We can’t look past Estrada, but there are things we have to look up to in the future. That’s definitely coming. I don’t know how long before we step up and do it. Personally, I haven’t even brought it up to Jesse, but I’d love to see him unify, maybe then go after undisputed at 115. But that’s obviously going to be a decision made by the team, and, of course, Jesse is the main one who makes that final decision. I think undisputed at 115 would be my goal, but if it’s going to 118, we can do that too because I know Jesse’s ready, and he can compete against any of the other champions.
Juan Hernandez    Thank you, Eddie, and to all your team at Matchroom. You’re the best in the business. You, Shaun [Palmer], Kevin [Rooney], and everybody has been great. We also want to say thank you to our partners in Mexico, who have been a key element in Estrada’s career. It’s actually very interesting to hear Bam’s team so motivated and maybe, in my opinion, looking ahead past Estrada.    I wanted to congratulate Bam, first of all, on becoming a father. We noticed on social media that he has a newborn. Estrada also has a couple of kids who are toddlers motivating him. We were having a light-hearted conversation the other day about how they’re both new fathers. Estrada made a funny comment and said that Bam might be a little over-hyped because he’s being spoon-fed his leftovers. He said to look at his record: Cuadras, Rungvisai, others. We’ve compared records, and Estrada has the who’s who of elite Super-Flys, including the likes of [Milan] Melindo, [Hernan] Marquez, and many more. Anybody, he’s gone through everybody. It's good to hear that Bam is very confident. It will make for a great fight. Robert [Garcia] was saying he’s not sure what Bam will want to do after this fight. But I think maybe he’ll want to come back down to 112 if he can’t handle this. But we’ll see.    It will be a great fight. No discrediting anyone but I feel like Estrada deserves all the credit in the world for his legendary career. Again, Eddie, you guys have really helped him cement his legacy with two fights with Chocolatito, one in Texas and one here [in Arizona]. I think we’re in for a real treat. Gallo has never been in a boring fight. He’s an artist inside the ring. As Eddie said, it’s a huge weekend for Phoenix. We plan on celebrating the win by watching the Mexican soccer game here live. We’ve already made plans about that. We’ll see how everything goes, and come fight night, we’ll see if Bam is still wearing diapers or if he is potty trained. It will be a great fight, so thank you everybody.
Ramla Ali    I hope the fight happens! Like you said, we’re still in final negotiations. I opted to take the hard route and fight here in Arizona, which, let’s be honest, is practically like fighting in Mexico, given the support here. There will be thousands of Mexican fans and I’m challenging a Mexican for her belts. I know it’s not going to be easy but as boxers and athletes, you always want to try and challenge yourself by trying to do the best that you can. And that’s going out there and fighting the best in the hardest situations. That way, when you are victorious, it’s all the more sweeter. Even though I know I’m ranked higher in the IBF and WBA rankings, I’ve wanted the WBC belt. I’ve wanted it since I was a kid watching the greats of the sport, like Sugar Ray and Muhammad Ali, wearing the belt around their waist. As a kid, you look up to that, and you are like, “Wow, that’s going to be one day.” So, I’ve always wanted the WBC belt, and I’ve never shied away from saying so. It will be quite fun. I would say it is quite a tasty division. I’m really looking forward to June 29 and getting through that first before seeing where it takes me after that.
Arturo Cardenas    First of all, I want to thank you, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom, for this third opportunity to fight on Matchroom. I’m really happy, and I’m not going to disappoint. It’s wonderful to be here, fighting on such a huge card and also fighting alongside my good friend Bam Rogriguez. I’m ready to show what I’m made of, and hopefully, I will go on to fight for a world title. It’s really emotional to be on great cards such as this with Estrada and Bam Rogriguez. It was something I wanted to do when I was a kid. I feel completely ready to go on and do what we can do. I know that whatever comes, we are facing a really tough opponent, and I’ll be ready for whatever comes.
Danny Barrios    What can I say, man? It feels so good to be up here. I just want to thank God for this opportunity, Matchroom, Eddie [Hearn], Kevin [Rooney] for making this fight happen, and my manager. I can’t wait. I can’t wait to show the world who I am and go to work. I’m going to be a problem. I know I’m here to give the world a show on who I really am and I’m ready to step up to whoever. I know Popoca is a great fighter, and I respect him. But I came here to fight and do my job – and that’s what I am going to do on June 29. After Popoca, I want the big fights. I want to face whoever is out there. I want them all. I’m ready to eat.

'By now, everyone knows just how many famous faces are in Barbie – but what about Oppenheimer?
The two blockbusters went head-to-head at the box office when they were released on Friday (21 July).
While Greta Gerwig’s bubblegum pink vision stormed ahead of Christopher Nolan’s historical epic in terms of opening weekend earnings, Oppenheimer has inched past Barbie to achieve a near-perfect score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
In the film, Cillian Murphy plays physicist J Robert Oppenheimer, as he leads the US efforts to build the first-ever atomic bomb. Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr, and Matt Damon round out the core cast, playing Jean Tatlock, Kitty Oppenheimer, Lewis Strauss, and Leslie Groves, respectively.
While the premise of Oppenheimer and Barbie couldn’t be more different, they do happen to share one element: a very, very long list of starry cameos.
Here’s every guest appearance that you might have missed…
1. Alden Ehrenreich as a Senate aide
Best known for films including Blue Jasmine, Solo: A Star Wars Story and Beautiful Creatures, Ehrenreich plays a senate aide helping out Lewis Strauss (played by Robert Downey Jr).
2. Alex Wolff as Luis Walter Alvarez
The breakout star of Ari Aster’s Hereditary and M Night Shyamlan’s Old leaves behind the supernatural for a different kind of horror in Oppenheimer. He plays one of many Nobel Prize physicists to grace the screen.
3. Benny Safdie as Edward Teller
One-half of the directing duo the Safdie Brothers (the pair behind Uncut Gems and Good Time), Benny steps out from behind the camera to potray the Hungarian physicist best known as the “so-called father of the hydrogen bomb”.
4. Casey Affleck as Boris Pash
The Oscar-winner – best known for films including Manchester By the Sea and A Ghost Story – makes a memorable appearance as the deceivingly calm intelligence officer Pash, who shares one tense scene with Murphy’s Oppenheimer.
5. Dane DeHaan as Kenneth Nichols
The Spider-Man villain plays Major General Kenneth Nichols, who helps oversee security in the Manhattan project.
6. David Dastmalchian as William L Borden
Dastmalchian – best known for films such as The Dark Knight, The Suicide Squad, and Dune – plays US lawyer and congressional staffer William L Borden, who served as the executive director of the US Congress Joint Committee on Atomic Energy from 1949 and 1953.
7. David Krumholtz as Isidor Isaac Rabi
Fans of Nineties romcoms will recognise Krumholtz from 10 Things I Hate About You, in which he played the best friend to Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character. Here, the actor portrays a Nobel Prize-winning physicist.
8. Gary Oldman as Harry S Truman
Oldman has a penchant for portraying world leaders around wartime. Here, the Darkest Hour Oscar-winner crops up as none other than President Truman – bow tie included.
9. Gustaf Skarsgard as Hans Bethe
Of course, there’s got to be one Skarsgard brother in the mix. The Swedish actor – best known for his roles in Vikings and Westworld (the latter co-created by Nolan’s brother, Jonathan) – plays Hans Bethe, a German-American nuclear physicist who heads up the T (Theoretical) divison of the Manhattan Project.
10. Guy Burnet as George Eltenton
Hollyoaks fans were shocked to see familiar face Guy Burnet on screen. Burnet is best known for his role as Craig on the Channel 4 soap.
11. James D’Arcy as Patrick Blackett
The Marvel star is no stranger to Christopher Nolan films, having previously starred in the director’s 2017 war film Dunkirk. Here, he plays Oppenheimer’s supervisor and teacher Patrick Blackett – another Nobel Prize-winning physicist.
12. Jack Quaid as Richard Feynman
Playing yet another scientist is The Boys star Jack Quaid who is also known for his roles in films such as The Hunger Games and Logan Lucky.
13. Jason Clarke as Roger Robb
Zero Dark Thirty star Jason Clarke plays a formbidable and relentless prosecutor in the counsel hearing against Oppenheimer.
14. Josh Peck as Kenneth Bainbridge
The actor, now 36, rose to fame as a child star starring opposite Drake Bell and Miranda Cosgrove in Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh. All grown up, Peck plays yet another scientist and contributor to the Manhattan Project.
15. Josh Hartnett as Ernest Lawrence
The Pearl Harbor star has a more substantial role than most of the actors on this list. He plays Ernest Lawrence, a nuclear physcicist and Nobel Prize-winner who worked on the Manhattan Project with Oppenheimer.
16. Matthew Modine as Vannevar Bush
Modine is probably one of the most recognisable faces on this list, having recently starred in Netflix smash-hit Stranger Things. Here, he plays American engineer Vannevar Bush.
17. Matthias Schweighöfer as Werner Heisenberg
Army of the Dead star Schwighöfer appears in Oppenheimer as German theoretical physicist Werner Heisenberg – of course, also a Nobel Prize winner. In the film, Oppenheimer tells the US army officials that he believes Werner’s knowledge will be instrumental to the Nazis making their own atomic bomb.
18. Michael Angarano as Robert Serber
As physicist Robert Serber, Angarano has minimal screentime – but the actor will be familiar to viewers as Jack’s son Elliott from Will & Grace and his roles in This Is Us and the 2005 children’s film Sky High.
19. Olivia Thirlby as Lilli Hornig
Thirlby stands out instantly when she appears on screen as Lilli Hornig – and not just because she’s the only woman working on the Manhattan Project. The actor is known for her roles in Juno and The Darkest Hour.
20. Rami Malek as David Hill
Oscar-winner Rami Malek makes an appearance as fellow scientist David Hill. The actor is best known for his roles in No Time To Die, Mr Robot, and of course, Bohemian Rhapsody.
21. Scott Grimes as a counsellor
Viewers can spot Grimes sitting on the counsel during the hearing against Oppenheimer. If you don’t recognise him by his face – as seen in ER, Party of Five, and Band of Brothers – you may recognise him as the voice of Steve Smith on the adult animation American Dad!.'

It was one of those days. The sun was shining the wind was nice and crisp and it broke the heat just right. You had a day off from work and Marcus had a "day off" from his club. Bishop had called Marcus out to come hang out at the scrap yard to which you reluctantly obliged. It was your one day off and you were gonna spend it at your job, but- they were kinda like your family anyway and Marcus promised a free ride on the back of his bike. You had your own but riding with Marcus made you feel special so, you woke up bright and early and put on your best looking but also most comfortable riding gear ((whatever you think that would look like to you)) and you and Marcus made your way to the scrapyard. It was a long drive, every time you road with Marcus he took his time, he loved the comfort your arms wrapped tightly around his waist gave him, and the warmth of your legs pressed up against him. It just brought him great calm feeling you on his bike. Especially when he spent his days riding all over California alone. He let out a relaxed hum which was drowned out over the moter of the bike but you felt it. You felt his muscles turn to butter as you laid your cheek on his shoulder and closed your eyes feeling relaxed as well. When you two pulled into the scrap yard Coco and Angle were quick to stop what they were doing to Greet you.
You stepped off the bike and smiled at the boys approaching you, until Marcus shot a glare at the two boys and they turned on their heels walking in the opposite direction you glared at him rolling your eyes "what? I want you all to myself" Marcus muttered putting his hands on your waist and pulling you towards him. You blushed and pulled away from him looking down at the dirt "right... appearances" Marcus looked down at the ground, slightly hurt by the rejection.
Later that day you were seen walking across the dirt drive way, as you walked you hoisted your pants up so they sit higher on your waist, Angle watched as you shimmied your ass in your pants and bit his lip watching you with dark eyes "what's wrong? Pants don't fit?" Angle questioned, his lips curling into a smirk.
"Yea it's hard when your ass is so fat" you said with confidence seemingly knocking the wind out of the young man. You trot over to Bishop and Alverez who are leaning against a car having a beer together. Alverez watches you dreamily as you hop over to them with a smile "what?" You asked, knowing exactly what you were doing to the oh so tough Mayan.
"You are so beautiful when you smile like that." Alverez spoke smoothly unraveling you causing you to melt to his delicious words.
"S-stop, i dont want the guys to think-" you stuttered blushing darkly.
"Oh sorry Reigna, I'll compliment you later when I'm in between your legs" Alverez smirked as If he could hear you internally scream, your cheeks Got darker and you ran away into the garage of the scrap yard. You hated when Marcus was like that with you infront of the guys you tried so hard to maintain this tough appearance so no one would walk all over you, and there he is, complimenting you and undressing you with his eyes. You grunted in frustration and slumped down behind a car. You herd Alverez's boots click against the concrete floor, and your heart began racing. You moaned softly at the agonizing feeling in your pants. They were uncomfortable before- it's even worse now "I know your in here mija" Alverez chuckled a dark chuckle. You rose to your feet and saw his smile illuminate the room, you giggled softly slowly approaching the man, his hands found their way to your hips again, and he pressed you against one of the cars.
"Marcus-" you blushed squirming away.
"(Y/N) I don't want to play games anymore hm?" Alverez muttered his eyes glancing all over your body.
"But-" you squeaked out as you felt his lips against your neck, you began to lose your train of thought as his tongue and teeth graze against the soft skin. You shutter under him fighting back soft moans "w-what are you doing" you managed to get out.
"Worshipping you Reigna" Alverez muttered against your neck, you could feel your panties start to get wet as he continued teasing you, his hands making their way under your shirt and pushing your bra up so his fingers can play with your nipples. You breathed heavily, eyes screwed shut and your lips biting back a moan, Alverez looked into your eyes and noticed so he leaned in teasing you with a kiss. To his shock you caved and crashed your lips onto his, your legs almost immeadatley wrapping around your waist as he pushed you into the car more. You could feel the buldge in his pants grow bigger as you desp grind against him begging for some friction. Alverez's tounge slides past your lips and dances with yours as you moan quietly into the kiss. His hands work at the button on your jeans and slowly unzips them while your legs grip to his waist, the only thing holding you up was his body and the car.
His hands slowly moved into your panties teasing you to the fullest ammount. You couldn't take it anymore "Marcus?" You spoke breathlessly as his fingers rubbed your clit.
"Hm?" He mumbled against your neck, as if his lips could feel your hears race
"Please" you moaned a bit louder than you wanted as he slid two fingers into your dripping entrance, you knocked your head back onto the roof of the car moaning.
"Please what Reigna?" He spoke with a smirk now watching the moans escape your throat. He set you down, your knees beginning to shake as the waves of pleasure stopped, you watched him kneel down infront of you and the pleasure quickly rushed back, he slowly pulled your pants down to your ankles and put one hand behind your knee pulling you closer to him, you watched all these actions knowing exactly what's to come next but still full of anticipation, lis lips began to suck your clit softly and your knees buckled due to his tongue working its Magic, his hands pushed your waist against the car without separating from your pussy. "Your beautiful Reigna" he muttered, and you blushed looking down at him, your fingers tangled themselves in his dark hair as he continued to pull you closer and closer to an orgasm you moaned out obscenities and then wined when he pulled away once more, he stood up looking at you with dark eyes, you swallowed hard. Doing this in a place like this. Didn't happen often. Alverez typically prefers his home. Anywhere in his home. But he prefers the privacy. It was such a long werk for him and watching you work and playfully flirt with the guy just made it impossible for him to control himself "no more appearances hm?" He muttered into your ear biting it softly.
"B-but" you protested.
"No buts Reigna- your mine, I love you. And I want everyone to see that love" Alvarez spoke kissing your neck "I want them to see you blush when I compliment you. I want them to hear you call me yours" his fingers slowly moved down your body and into your pants
"M-Marcus- I dont"
"Don't take me so seriously mija, I want them to see the softness. Not this. But I couldn't wait any longer for this, I had to get you alone" Marcus speaks as he begins to rub your clit in circular motions you moan laying your head against the car again exposing your throat, Alverez's other hand reaches up and wraps his hand around your throat, all while his other hand begins to fuck you with his fingers. You gasp as his grip tightens just enough your unable to respond as your moans fill up the garage "Te gustan mis manos alrededor de tu garganta mija?" Alvarez speaks slowly with a bit of a growl your eyes look at him blushing, you have absolutely no idea what he just said to you. But it sounded so sexy.
"I-i" you moan.
"I know- I said, do you like the way my hands feel around your throat, Mija" he repeated muttering into your ear. You swallowed hard as Alverez continued to fuck you with his fingers bringing you to a swift orgasm. "I'll take that as a yes" he smirked kissing you softly as he removed his hands from your pants. You flushed, still trying to catch your breath. You looked at him feeling so hot and flustered "are you Okay?" Alvarez asked kissing your cheek softly.
"I'm perfect" you breathed out. "But I'm also a mess! How am I gonna clean this!" You argued swatting his leather covered chest.
"I think these things through Reigna relax" he chuckled pulling a bandanna from his pocket "do you want to clean yourself up or should i?" Alvarez looking at you with dark eyes.
"I'll do it- your only gonna make it worse" you spoke- you really wanted him to, but you knew no good would come from him touching you again. You'd be in that garage for hours.
"You really are beautiful Mi amor" he smiled watching you as you zipped your pants back up.
"Your fucking- ugh your amazing. I don't deserve you" you blushed resting your head against his chest.
"I'm the one who dosnt deserve you Mija, but I'm glad your here" Alvarez smiled "lest go before someone comes looking" he began to laugh as you shook your head, his hands tangled in yours as you both walked out of the garage, he went back to his spot next to Bishop and you walked over to Angel and Coco who looked at you with mischievous grins.

Dalia poked her side. “Look who just walked in.”
Jamie raised her head from her sketchbook to the entrance to the cafeteria, where Marcus Fitch sauntered in with the rest of the football team in tow.
It was like a scene out of the movies Jas and Caro always insisted they watch on sleepovers. Marcus moved in slow motion as he laughed over his shoulder at something his friend at said that probably wasn’t even that funny. Jamie swore there was even the faint sound of swelling music coming from somewhere.
Jamie tore her eyes away, looking at Dalia, whose smug smirk reminded her so much of Caro. They really were the spitting image of each other.
“The football team?” Jamie said, shrugging, trying to play it cool. It’s what Jas would have done.
Dalia hummed, but Jamie didn’t love the devious grin on her friend’s face.
“Don’t–“
Dalia opened her mouth and shouted across the expanse of the cafeteria. “Marcus!”
Not only did the older boy’s head whip up, but so did the heads of nearly every kid in the room, as Dalia waved her hand wildly in the air, almost smacking Jamie’s temple in the process.
Marcus said something to his friends before weaving in and out of tables and bodies to make it to them. Jamie begged for the ground to swallow her whole at the sheer embarrassment of being looked at by everyone.
Dalia’s hand landed back on the tabletop unceremoniously. Jamie cursed under her breath.
“Hey, guys,” Marcus greeted, offering them a wide and confident smile that made Jamie’s insides feel funny. She muttered a hello, dreading whatever Dalia would say next.
“Jamie has an art show tomorrow,” she said, looking the picture of innocence, but Jamie scowled.
“You do?”
She raised her eyes to meet Marcus’ warm brown ones. “It’s not my art show,” she clarified. “It’s for Art Club. David is showing, too.”
At the sound of his name, he looked over his shoulder at his friends who were beckoning him to join them again. He looked back at his childhood friends, and Jamie felt smaller, acutely aware that Marcus was older and significantly cooler. “I’ll be there.”
Jamie frowned. “You don’t have to do that,” she said, shaking her head.
The broad smile Marcus offered her made her heart pound and her palms sticky. “I want to,” he assured her and wandered back to the football team at the far end of the cafeteria.
Dalia’s grin was smug and self-satisfied. “I just got you a date.”
“It’s not a date,” Jamie argued. “Coming to an art club art show after school is not a date.”
“It’s definitely a date.”
Jamie groaned. “You’re insufferable.”
Dalia grinned and waved at David, who was making his way through the crowd, holding on to his backpack and lunch tray for dear life. “You love me.”
“Debatable.”
David slumped into the seat opposite Jamie and Dalia. “What’s debatable?”
“Whether I love Dalia,” Jamie said, sliding her chemistry notebook across the table to David so they could compare results of their latest lab.
“You do,” he said matter-of-factly.
A smug smile crept back on Dalia’s face. “See? David knows.”
“David is also failing chemistry.”
He frowned, opening Jamie’s notebook. “I’m not,” he reminded them. “I’m in AP Chem.”
“You can be in AP Chem and still fail.”
“But I’m not.”
“You sound more like Jas every day,” Dalia interrupted, cutting off their arguing. It wasn’t a new thing that Jamie and David argued over classes and test scores, and though there was never any malice to it, she knew it was irritating to listen to sometimes.
Jamie would have argued with Dalia if she wasn’t right. When she’d first been in foster care with her parents, Jamie had taken to Jake the fastest. They’d bonded over sports. He’d been patient with her, and he’d learned to do her hair. Jamie rarely let anyone touch her hair. The older Jamie got, the more she had picked up Jas’ mannerisms.
She had grown into herself with these people. She was just eight when she met them, but Dalia had decided they were best friends from the jump, and they’d spent countless nights at Caro’s place when Jake and Mickey were deployed.
Their parents were all friends, but they felt more like family. A family Jamie never thought she would have, but Jake and Jas had opened their life to her. They had always treated Jamie like their own, even before they adopted her.
“Why were you debating if you love Dalia or not, anyway?”
“She’s insufferable,” Jamie said at the same time as Dalia mentioned the Marcus Debacle.
“Marcus is coming to the show?”
Dalia nodded furiously, beaming with pride. “All I had to do was mention Jamie, and he said he’d come.”
“That’s not true,” Jamie said with an incredulous look at her best friend before explaining what had actually transpired.
“It’s a date,” Dalia announced when Jamie had finished relaying the information.
David’s brows furrowed, and he delayed his answer by sipping his water bottle. “Marcus coming to the art show is a date? For who?”
“Jamie, of course,” Dalia answered, sounding like she thought he was dumb for not picking up on that very obvious conclusion.
David frowned. Jamie could practically see the wheels turning inside his brain as he tried to figure out how Dalia had gotten there. By the looks of it, he was having little luck.
“It’s an art club show after school,” David said slowly. Jamie saw a hint of Bob in his brows and mouth when he frowned again. “That doesn’t seem like a date.”
“Thank you,” Jamie exclaimed triumphantly, slamming her palm down on her sketch book, smearing the piece she was working on. She cursed under her breath before closing the book.
“He does like you, though,” David said nonchalantly, looking down at Jamie’s notes from AP Chem, not realizing his mistake until it was too late.
Dalia eyed him suspiciously. “You know something,” she said and pointed to him.
“I have eyes,” he said and shrugged for good measure. His mom hated when he shrugged.
Jamie looked between her friends, not understanding the silent conversation they tried to have through glances alone.
“We will talk about this later,” Dalia said to David, sounding more like a threat than a suggestion. It was during moments like those where there was no doubt Dalia was Caro’s daughter.
Dalia turned her attention back to Jamie. “You’ve been in love with him since we were twelve. Is it so bad to just call it a date even if he doesn’t know it?”
Jamie groaned, a habit she had undoubtedly picked up from Jas over the years, and slammed her head against her arm resting on the closed sketchbook.
“You’re insufferable,” she murmured into the crook of her arm.
Jamie didn’t have to look at Dalia to know she was grinning triumphantly.
Caro picked them up from school that afternoon because Marcus had a late football practice, and couldn’t take them like he normally did. Jamie waved at the car over her shoulder, walking up the driveway to her front door.
Jas and Jake had done a lot of work on the house after they moved in together. Mostly Jake. Jas had been tasked with painting the porch and barely managed that, getting paint all over herself, the grass, and the neighbor’s cat.
Jamie loved that story.
She let herself into the house, knowing Jas would be up and getting ready for the night shift. “Mom?”
“In here,” Jas spoke from the kitchen.
She dropped her backpack on the bench in the entryway and rounded the corner to the kitchen where Jas was preparing tea for Jamie and coffee for herself.
She was in scrubs, her hair tied into a tight bun that closely resembled the one she’d been forced to wear in the Navy. She slid the mug across the counter towards Jamie, who sat on one of the tall bar stools.
“How was school?”
Jamie shrugged. “It was alright,” she said, sipping her tea. “I think Mr. Simmons is planning a pop quiz for AP Chem. I compared notes with David at lunch.”
Jas offered Jamie a spoon to stir her tea with, which she accepted. “You feel okay about it?”
“Yeah,” she said, swirling the spoon around the tea, filling the air with the scent of chamomile.
“I wanted to talk to you about tomorrow,” Jas said and mirrored Jamie’s sip of her mug. “I managed to change shifts with someone, so I can come to your art show. I’m not sure if Jake can make it, so you’ll have to ask him when he gets home, but he wants to be there.”
Jamie smiled. Jas and Jake were practical people, and when she made the track team, she wasn’t surprised when they came to every race and tournament, but their support of her interest in art? That was a shock.
“Got any surgeries planned today?”
“Nothing scheduled,” Jas replied, taking another sip. “But emergency medicine is unpredictable, so who knows?”
“It’s like you then.”
Jas paused, the mug halfway to her mouth, and stared at Jamie.
“I know you did not just call me unpredictable,” Jas said in mock outrage, putting her coffee back on the counter and placing her hand over her chest.
“Didn’t you string dad along for weeks when you first met?”
Jas snorted. “He loved it, and if he ever tells you otherwise, he’s lying.”
Jamie chuckled, letting her eyes glide around the room at the pictures and memories scattered around the kitchen and living room. Besides a picture from their wedding that Jamie had recreated in Art Club for the show, her favorite was a picture Caro had snapped on the day Jas and Jake got together officially.
They were at the bar they all still went to. The Hard Deck. The picture was taken from the back with Jas and Jake resting their elbows on the bar top while Penny was getting them drinks. They were looking at each other, foreheads almost touching, and grinning widely like little kids. Jake liked to say that night was the first time he ever saw Jas truly relax in his presence.
“He liked it,” Jamie agreed. “You were still unpredictable, though.”
Jas chuckled. “I guess so.”
They spent the next ten minutes talking about school and homework, about the upcoming holiday season and whether they were going to Texas to stay with Jake’s parents or San Francisco to stay with Jas’ moms.
Jas checked her watch again. “I have to get going,” she said and swallowed the last bit of coffee, placing the mug in the sink. “Would you mind emptying the dishwasher? You know how your dad gets.”
“Of course,” Jamie agreed.
Jas came around the kitchen island and kissed Jamie’s temple. “Thank you. I’ll see you tomorrow for your art show, okay?”
“Okay,” Jamie answered as the corners of her mouth ticked upwards, watching Jas throw her phone and wallet into her bag. Jamie leaned back in her seat so she could see the front door around the corner.
“Drive safe,” Jamie yelled when Jas took her car key from the bowl by the front door.
“Yeah yeah,” Jas shouted back, probably rolling her eyes at the fact that even her daughter knew she was a terrible driver.
As the door slammed, Jamie’s phone pinged in her pocket with a text from Jake, letting her know he would be able to come to her art show tomorrow and did she want pizza for dinner.
She answered the man she considered her father that she did want pizza and asked if she could invite Dalia to join them.

And now a brief aside about the Evil Dead franchise (and “Rise” in particular)
Sam Rami and Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert have produced two separate attempts to reboot their classic “Evil Dead” series in the past two years. We had Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead quasi-remake in 2013, and this year - 2023 - we’re getting Evil Dead Rise, which is an attempt at a more original take.
Both of these — rare moments of dark humor aside — are straight-up horror films. And it’s THAT decision that tells me that Raimi/Campbell/Tapert are fundamentally failing to grasp what made ‘Evil Dead’ the beloved cult franchise it is today.
Tumblr media
1981′s The Evil Dead was pretty well-regarded for its time, especially as an ultra-low-budget exercise in guerrilla filmmaking. But that’s not the movie that people have spent 40 years celebrating. Instead, it’s 1987′s Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn and 1993′s Army of Darkness that still get constant revival screenings, that get constantly quoted amongst the oddball fans. THESE are the movies people keep peppering Bruce Campbell with questions about. THESE are the movies that caused Sam Raimi to have to endure “Where is Evil Dead 4″ questions from everybody and their brother for like 20 goddamn years, even as he went mainstream and became the Spider-Man movie guy.
There’s a reason very few people talk about the 2013 Evil Dead remake when the franchise comes up. And if it DOES come up, conversation quickly turns to the “Ash vs. Evil Dead” TV series that was brought to life two years after it.
The core element that makes Evil Dead resonate across decades isn’t the horror; it’s the HUMOR.
Tumblr media
What do you see in the stage musical? The numerous video game tie-ins? The piles of spinoff comic books? COMEDY. GOOFINESS. ONE-LINERS. GORY SLAPSTICK.
They don’t make any of those MULTITUDE of tie-ins as straight-up horror stories.
Tumblr media
Raimi and Campbell and Tapert have decided — and even said aloud — that they don’t think the humor works without Campbell’s Ash. But SHIT, you guys —you’ve never fucking tried!
You’re making straight horror flicks with possessed semi-zombie demon-people that wind up fading into the background alongside all the other horror noise when you COULD be making new horror-comedies for a new generation of twisted fucking weirdos who will delight in them!
Yes yes, Bruce Campbell was extremely talented at making this stuff fun, but I don’t think he’s uniquely one of a kind. Why couldn’t Jane Levy or Lily Sutherland deliver some funny lines or smack themselves around for the greater good of your series and entertainment as a whole?! Give ‘em a CHANCE! LET THEM BE FUNNY!!!
COME ON, people.

Random rant but I really want to talk about this.
I believe with my whole heart that any character that gets a redemption arc (with a couple exceptions I will get into) have their powers and abilities nerfed.
The thunder legion- All shown as strong mages. Freed was able to hold his own for a good while against Mira's Satan soul which is nothing to sneeze at, he was able to keep runes up across the entire city while doing so as well and was also selected for S-class. Evergreen was also selected for this and fought Erza for a decent amount of time, even if she also did loose. And Bickslow, despite not being selected for S-class like his teammates is powerful in his own right, after all he helped fight against 4 Grimoire heart members at once. Then during the Tartaros arc, they are taken out at the beginning of the arc (even though Laxus walks around after inhaling more band particles than them) and then they are taken out at the beginning of the Alvarez arc as well as not even taking out anyone. They took out the robot body of one of the Springan 12. That's it.
The Oracion Seiz- I don't think I need to explain how they were strong in their first arc but I've been rewatching key of the starry heavens for Au purposes and Midnight nullifies Byro's magic. The guy who could stand toe to toe with Gildarts in the same arc. Ignoring Erigor and potluck since they aren't redeemed, three of the four have two types of magic now. Cobra has his dragon slayer lacrima and has basically turned his sensitive hearing weakness into a strength by being able to send attacks from the noise around him. Midnight has his reflector magic and darkness magic giving him both a defense and a offense on top of his illusions. Racer now has his slowing magic and his speed magic and Angel has her summoning magic which were able to square up with someone on Freed and Gray's level. Then the Tartaros arc comes, and putting my rant about Midnight's appearance to one side (like seriously how did his hair go such a desaturated grey, his skin turning sickly and his eyes going from red to grey. That doesn't make sense because he looked way different in Kotsh and Alveraz) Jellal should have had his ass handed to him by the seiz. Also I'm sorry but am I the only one that finds it kinda wrong that Jellal, the guy who had them continued their enslavement for who knows how long and then sold them off to Brain, practically forces then into his guild. And Jellal wasn't being controlled, he was brain washed. He chose his actions based on something he'd been lied to about and manipulated into believing but he had fu control. And he was never that strong and he was beat by Macbeth before but somehow wins against four of them.
Juvia- I feel really bad for Juvia because she isn't basically fawning over Gray, she is a really fun character but.... Yeah. I liked the concept of Gajeel and Juvia no longer working as a team in Kotsh because it was interesting to see two people who came from the same background having drifted apart and not knowing how the other fights anymore but that didn't really happen. So many times Juvia is just used for jokes like it's been forgotten she was S-class.
Gajeel- I am aware Gajeel probably gets the nicest treatment aside from Laxus and Jellal but see, he does still get tossed around some. My problem isn't so much his power takes a nose dive, it's more he's used for jokes so much but like, a lot of them are kinda nasty. Everyone makes fun of his singing where he can hear them but like that probably hurts his self confidence. He's putting in the effort to express himself with something he enjoys and then his guildmates shoot him down. Then when he decides to go train before fighting Laxus after Natsu gets one shot, everyone calls him a coward for running from a fight he realised he couldn't win and Lily even said that he thought Gajeel was a warrior, implying he now thinks less of him. Lily also later is ready to scold Gajeel like an angry mother. But like why is Gajeel considered a coward when honestly that was a smart decision on his part. He took some nasty hits from Laxus during the fighting festival arc and he is a lot more susceptible to Laxus' hits than Natsu. (Then again, the guild had a real nasty streak between the tenrou team return and Kotsh considering there is an episode where Lucy walks into the guild to get help after turning invisible and everyone is shit talking her, including Levy. I would like to pretend that episode didn't exist because that was just horrible in so many ways) then he's just knocked from the Fairies Vs Sabers battle, knocked out of the fight in Kotsh and it's played for laughs.
Sabertooth- The sabertooth mages are also incredibly strong but they just sort of get tossed aside more than a power issue. Yeah sure Sting and Rogue show up regularly and do something and sometimes Minerva and Yukino if they're lucky but we don't really get much from the others. Now I will admit I'm a big Rufus fan just as much as I am a fan of Freed and Totomaru so naturally I am upset that there isn't much content involving him but like they don't even get a proper fight. Rufus, Orga and Dobengal all get crucified and then we see nothing of them later on. Upsetting to say the least.
In short, all the guys mentioned deserve more screentime. You can bet your boots I'm mad we haven't seen anything of Cobra, Meredy, Midnight, Richard and Racer during 100 years quest. Like I want to see what they are doing but nah. Naked Jellal. (Also was it necessary he say to Laxus' that he had been naked. I don't think he needed to know that) and extra mad both Rogue and Cobra never got a secret art because they deserve them.

Arm Wrestling
A small dabble based off of a conversation in the GG discord!(this ones for you, you crazy sardines)
Tina laughed and slung her jacket over the back of her chair as she sat down before Eva Alvarez. Watching as the other girl stretched and out her long black hair into a ponytail.
“Hurry up Eva,” Tina smiled and returned the middle finger Eva sent her way.
“You can't rush stretching, it’s bad for the muscles.” Eva huffed and jogged in place. Tina rolled her eyes and rested her elbow on the desk they had stolen from the storage room, wiggling her fingers as she waited.
“Keep stalling all you want Alvarez, but you’re going to have to hold my hand eventually.” Tina teased as she leaned forward, giving her roommate a playful wink as Eva batted her eyelashes at her
“Give me a minute, I’m shy.” Eva played along, hiding behind her hand ‘bashfully’ before bursting out in giggles and snorts.
“Come on guys.” Kim Lee whined impatiently, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she glanced over anxiously at Anna who was currently fighting a losing battle against Mick(who was at least letting Anna get in a few good pushes, even if Anna was technically cheating by grabbing the side of the desk).
Eva laughed and gently shoved the shorter girl with her hip as she made her way across the desk from Tina.
“Okay, okay. Relax Tiny, Mick’s still gonna be there when we’re done.” Eva smiled and Tina rolled her eyes. Kim was only three inches shorter now but apparently Eva was still going to milk their height difference for all it was worth(while it lasted).
“Alright alright!” Courtney’s booming voice called as she clapped her hands, her metal whistle jingling on its chain around her neck. Courtney leaned down giraffe style and looked between Tina and Eva’s joint hands.
“I want a fair fight you two,” She said, giving Eva(who was known to bite) a long look. “Which means; no biting, kicking, licking, pinching, punching, snorting, spitting, throwing, wrist slamming- I’m still very sorry Kim.”
“ ’s cool.” Kim shrugged, rolling her left wrist to show it had healed well since the last class wide arm wrestling contest.
“We know the rules Courtney, we all wrote them.” Tina reminded her and Courtney rolled their eyes and held Tina’s and Eva’s hands together.
“Behave.” She warned and Eva and Tina nodded solemnly.
“We will.” They promised in unison and Courtney nodded, satisfied with herself.
“Good.” Courtney nodded and then leaned in again as Eva and Tina kissed either side of their face and then, for good luck and good sportsmanship, kissed each other’s cheek as well.
“Do we have to add no smooching too?” Kim teased and then squealed when, in turn, Courtney, Eva, and Tina gave her each a kiss on the cheek as well.
“I dunno, should we?” Eva teased as Kim tried to hide her red face behind her hands, the toe of her shoe gently pushing at the carpet in front of her.
“Well, geez,” Kim said softly as she giggled and touched her cheek. “Guess not.”
Courtney laughed and Kim hid her face into their shoulder as Courtney blew her whistle. Together, Eva and Tina pushed against each other’s hand, trying to tilt the other girl down to the face of the desk and win.
“You going soft Alvarez?” Tina teased through gritted teeth as Eva scoffed and blew a strand of hair away from her face.
“You wish Walters.”
“I’m just saying, I’m just cruising over here.” Tina huffed as Eva grunted and sucked in a quick breath.
“Why are you so red then?”
“Cause I’m holding hands with the cutest girl in school.” Tina winked and Courtney huffed and stage-whispered to Kim.
“I thought I was the cutest.”
“You got a crush on lil’ ol’ me?” Eva grinned as Tina blew her a kiss.
“You wish Alvarez.” Tina shot Eva words back at her and Eva rolled her eyes and Tina watched as her face scrunched up with focus, the muscles on her neck straining with effort as Tina took a deep breath and continued to hold her ground.
“You feel soft Eva.” Tina quipped as she won a bit of ground and Eva groaned and started pushing harder to regain it.
“The only thing soft here is the infirmary bed I’m going to put you in.” Eva huffed and clenched Tina’s hand impossibly tighter and Tina winced, Eva managing to slip the odds into her favor thanks to Tina’s temporary moment of weakness.
“That’s cute but we both know that bed’s reserved for your ass.” Tina wheezed and with a deep breath she tilted their hands back to the middle, putting them back in the stalemate they had been in before.
“Really, I swear I wrote down Tina the Loser on the clipboard.” Eva snapped back and Tina took a breath so she could boo her opponent.
“That was lame.”
“You’re lame.”
“Your face is lame.”
“Hey! I thought I was the cutest girl in class.” Eva grumbled and Tina won just a sliver on an inch and saw the crack in Eva’s defenses as sweat began to form on her forehead.
“We both know it’s Courtney.”
“Awe, thanks guys.” Courtney piped up and Kim gently elbowed them in the ribs.
“Ref, focus.” Kim said softly and Courtney nodded.
“Right, thanks ref.” Courtney beamed and Kim smiled and bumped their shoulders together.
“No problem ref.”
“You guys,” Eva panted out as she started to lose more ground to Tina. “are so…gross.”
“And...you’re…a...loser!” Tina huffed and with one last big push, slammed Eva’s hand into the wood of the desk with a thud and Kim jumped up and raced off to go against Mick.
“That’s not fair!” Eva immediately cried, jumping up from her seat as Tina whooped and raised her fists in victory, rolling up her sleeves and kissing each of her biceps.
“Eat my splinters Alvarez!” Tina shouted, pointing to the desk. “You see that? That’s your defeat right there!”
“I demand a rematch! I totally would have won!” Eva huffed as Courtney just directed her to the other defeated girls to fight against.
“Your hand touched wood Eva,” Courtney shrugged.
“I was distracted!” Eva whined and Tina grabbed her shoulder, laughing victoriously.
“Distracted by these weapons of destruction!” Tina whooped and flexed her arms proudly, doing little air punches. Eva groaned loudly and slumped in her seat across Anna who at least tried to offer her some comfort while Tina all but shouted from the balcony.
“Alright!” Tina beamed as she sat back down in her chair, leaning it on its back two legs. “Who's up next to take on the champ?”
Tina grinned proudly, folding her hands behind her head and then looked over as sweet, soft giggling approached her from her left. Tina looked over and saw Cameron Morgan walking over, her flannel flowing slightly behind her.
“I’m guessing you won?” Cammie asked as if she hadn’t heard Tina from all the way across the room.
“Unfairly!” Eva shouted from her seat across Anna who did her best to put up a good fight.
“You’re a sore loser!” Tina shouted back as she sat her chair back down on all four legs. Tina turned to Cammie and gave her a grin.
“Who’d you beat?”
“Lizzie,” Cammie said simply, gesturing over her shoulder at the little blonde who shook hands with Courtney while Mick refereed. Tina nodded and waited as Caoimhe walked over.
“Ready you two?” They asked, looking between the two and Tina playfully waggled her eyebrows at Cammie.
“Are you going to take your flannel off Cam? I don’t want you to sweat all over it.” Tina teased lightly, knowing Cammie could get a bit sweaty during P&E.
Cammie laughed softly, shaking her head and wiggled out of the oversized flannel and Tina froze. She watched as Cammie turned to drape her flannel over the back of her chair, her gray cotton shirt with the words ‘Nebraska corn’ written on the front (with a cartoonish image of a grinning ear of corn), did nothing to hide the powerful muscle underneath Tina hadn’t noticed before.
Cammie shook her head, her dirty blonde hair flying around her face angelically as she rested her elbow on the desk, muscles flexed and ready as Tina just stared at the girl across from her. Cammie looked up at Tina through her eyelashes, those big brown doe eyes that reflected all sorts of light as the window behind Cammie made her already light colored hair shine like a halo.
“Ready?” She asked softly, that sweet gentle twang in her voice made something in Tina’s chest lurch forward and Tina nodded numbly as she rested her hand on the table.
“Yeah,” Tina breathed out and she nearly fell over when Cammie smiled at her, the apples of her cheeks rising, making the soft sprinkling of freckles across the bridge of her nose and cheeks dance as her smile met her eyes.
Caoimhe nodded and gently clasped their hands together and Tina felt her face growing hot as Cammie wrapped her fingers around Tina’s hand. The girls’ words faded away to white noise as Tina just stared at Cammie’s hands. The soft, nearly invisible blonde hairs on the back of her hand, the warm sunny tan Cammie had gotten over the summer break(probably from helping out at her grandparents farm again). Had Cammie’s hands always been so warm? So tender yet rough, callused from whatever hard work Cammie had done over the summer to get so strong and-
Tina yelped as with Caoimhe’s commanding ‘Go!’ Cammie pushed with all her might against Tina’s hand, expecting the other girl to do the same but couldn't stop the momentum once it started and Tina fell right out of her chair. She took the desk and chair with her to the floor as she fell over with the powerful force of Cammie Morgan and blinked up at the ceiling.
“Tina!” Cammie gasped and raced out of her chair and leaned over her, looking down at her. “Oh geez, are you okay?” She flustered about as she looked Tina up and down as Tina just blinked.
“Um, yeah.” Tina gasped softly and her eyes focused on Cammie’s worried face, the way her crooked nose tilted further to the side as her face scrunched up with concern. Cammie leaned down as she looked over her, her hand reaching up to tuck a blonde curl behind her ear.
“I thought you were ready.” Cammie said softly and offered Tina her hand.
“Me too,” Tina groaned as she covered her face with her hands embarrassed. She sighed against her palms and then parted her fingers as she heard Cammie giggle. She watched the blonde try to cover her laughter with her elbow politely, shaking her head to try and get rid of the giggles.
“Sorry, sorry it's just.” Cammie paused and her smile leaned heavily to one said as she pressed her lips together trying to hide it. “Your face is just…”
She trailed off and gestured vaguely to Tina who felt herself blush, grinning back up at the blonde.
“I’m just surprised Cam,” Tina said softly and Cammie blushed a soft pretty pink as she offered her hand to Tina.
“Come on,” She said sweetly and Tina wanted to refuse to see what she’d do. What she’d say. Cammie tucked back the strand of hair that had gotten loose again and Tina wondered how she hadn’t noticed all of this before. Her sparkling smile, the way it tittered to one side when she was hiding it. The cute pink color of her lips, the way they looked so soft and sweet and-
Oh
Oh
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH-
“Come on Tina,” Cammie said playfully, standing by Tina’s feet, planting herself firmly as she held out both hands to her and Tina took them, relishing in how warm they were and how perfectly they seemed to fit together, like something that was always meant to be without doubt or question. Like the sun and moon sharing the sky, and like the sky and the stars holding each other close.
Tina looked into the determined brown eyes of Cameron Morgan, saw the future they held, the invisible path they walked and Tina wished that even in darkness they could walk it together someday.
“Thanks,” Tina said softly once she was back on her feet.
“No problem.” Cammie smiled and picked up her flannel off the chair she once sat in. She turned to go but not before she spun on her heels, looking at Tina with her hands gently caped behind her back. “Maybe sit down for a second.”
And with that, she spun back around and walked over to Courtney Bauer. Tina blinked and stumbled back, sitting on the common room couch that they had pushed to the side to make space for their arm wrestling contest.
Tina blinked and started down at her empty hand, completely dazed, so much so that she hadn’t noticed someone sneaking up behind her until Eva whispered in her ear.
“Loser.”
Tina huffed and reached back, grabbing Eva’s collar and throwing her over the back of the couch and onto the floor.
“I will knock you out Alvarez!” Tina snapped, her face growing red again as Courtney jumped up from her chair and blew their whistle at them.
“Eva no biting!” She shouted a little too late as Tina screamed and bit Eva back.

2021 best of. At least I beat my time last year and actually wrote?
Starcrossed- More of an All for You divorce album than a Butterfly, in a 'it stinks, but whatever. Now do you want the wedding china that I'm unloading?' kind of way. I didn't like it at first because of the tracklist making the songs feel too samey (Also, even this long into the new music model, I'm not used to songs being under 3 minutes). The movie and listening to the songs out of order helped a lot. The best songs are justified, simple times, and camera roll. An interesting example of the Glass Animals/Tame Impala sound.
If I can't have love, I want power- Halsey's first impressive album, to me. Really glad this body of work came out. Best songs are you asked for this, Girl with a gun, and One Eye closed.
Lately I feel Everything- Another fun project, another great side to Willow. I like the different types of alternative rock on it. Listen to Naive, Extra, and Gaslighter, as well as F**k You.
3:33- Did I lose interest in Tinashe now that she’s independent and there’s less of a bad guy or goal for her music career? Yes. Is this album still good? Yes. My favorite songs are Shy Guy and Pasadena.
No gods No Masters- Yes, I would say that their last three albums have been their most similar to each other (See all the Record Store Day songs included in the bonus disc) as songs that would play in a Deadly Class type of genre show about young adults, but that says more about alternative rock nowadays than Garbage. That said, I still enjoy the industrial vibes on this one. I like The Creeps, Anonymous XXX, and This City Will Kill You. It was interesting hearing the Eurythmics influence in songs like The Men Who Rule the World.
Texis- Hyperpop gone rock. Locust Laced is that song. I'm Not down’ is startlingly on point for this point in the pandemic, and Sweet75 is a great opener.
Play with the Changes- Rochelle Jordan is the closest that I liked to dance pop this year. A great combination of UK garage and alternative R&B.
New Long Leg- I guess this is usually when my list is what I’m in the mood for and I’m in the mood for post-punk. Scratchcard lanyard is cool, and if you haven’t yet, watch the music video! I don’t understand what Her Hippo is about but it makes me sad. I like the drums in More Big Birds.
Soberish- Casualties of my schedule change. Not as familiar as I could be. Spanish Doors is both sad and relatable. If you like Liz Phair’s character studies of men like Soap Star Joe and Uncle Alvarez, listen to Hey Lou. Meanwhile, In there is very new and trip hoppy for Liz. These songs are more like her EPs Juvenilia and comeandgetit, and whitechocolatespaceegg outtakes instead of, say, her Girly Sound songs.
Who am I?- Precursor for the Avril Lavigne album this year. It might just be 2000’s pop rock, but if the formula isn’t broken, don’t fix it. Listen to You Don’t Own Me and Fall to Pieces.
Unlimited Ammo- Fun hyperpop, that has both songs that are ethereal and wintry, like Steel, and great bangers like Finish Him.
Pinkpantheress- I enjoy the drum and bass sounds as well as the wistful 19.
Pink Noise- A different kind of going pop. It’s like if the group We Are King made more music. Very lush. I like Magical, Got Me, and Church Girl.
Screen violence- A great combination of alternative rock and synthpop. Lauren’s voice has a lot of urgency. I like Nightmares, How Not to Drown, and He Said She Said.
Pearl Charles- Good country and soft rock combination. Listen to Only for Tonight for disco, and Impostor and Slipping Away for soft rock.
Flux- Countlessth year-of best for me, but I have finally decided to let go of my various reservations and just enjoy. I like Lessen the Damage, On the Level, and As Strange as it Seems. For alternative rock music what Light Years is to disco.
Homegrown- I love the saxophone sample in Slow Down. I like Dysfunctional and Come Over. Good combination of contemporary and alternative R&B.
Death of a Cheerleader- Lux is THAT song. Kind of cheating because I like Popular, a cover of the Nada Surf song released January 2022, more than the album. Sort of how TIME has people on influential lists for potential influence in the future.
Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 3- See Poppy’s review for umpteeneth great project. I like So Cold, Syrup, and Cashmere.
Non-fiction- great post punk. I like Violent & Paranoid.

Weekly Recap | March 29 - April 4 2021
Tumblr media
This week, I started my Epic Stucky Fic Download of 2021 (I'm somewhere in 2015 at the moment, 2014 and before are done), which means I re-read some oldies... I hope you enjoy!
Complete
Heaven and Hell were words to me by this_wayward_life (Post-Endgame, PWP, BDSM | 3K | Explicit): Bucky usually prides himself in being a relatively observant person. He was back in Brooklyn when he and Steve were cramped together in that tiny one-bedroom apartment, he was during his time as the Asset, and he was during that strange period between his defection from Hydra and Steve finding him. So, he's more than a little surprised when Steve manages to keep a secret from him. So it comes as a bit of a shock when Bucky comes home one day after a mission for Steve to take his hands and whisper that he's got a surprise for him. (Part 3 of No grave can hold my body down)
💙 Diving In The Deep End by musette22/ @musette22 (Evanstan RPF | 19K | Explicit): Scarlett raises a perfectly manicured eyebrow. “You’re telling me that you never once in your entire life, not even during theater school, locked lips with another guy?”
💙 you know I'd quench that thirst by napricot (Canon, Bucky/Steve/Peggy | 38K | Explicit): Steve Rogers is very much not a virgin. Not before the serum, and sure as hell not after it, when the serum ramps up his libido along with everything else. Too bad everyone thinks Captain America is a sexless historical symbol. Or: the tragicomic sexual odyssey of Steve Rogers, and how it begins, and then much later ends, with Bucky Barnes.
i got it bad for you by howdoyousleep/ @howdoyousleep3 (Evanstan RPF, PWP, Daddy kink | 4K | Explicit): “Yeah? Older?” “Yeah yeah, just…I don’t know, the beard? This fucking hair? Just…I don’t know— older,” he manages to chuckle nervously, gasping into Chris’ mouth when their squirming leads their dicks into lining up beautifully. Seb aches, yearns, mouth watering as he mewls, both hands in Chris’ hair as he licks into Sebastian’s mouth. And then Chris pulls back, breathes hot on Sebastian’s cheek, his bottom lip, croons, “Like your Daddy?”
💙 The Wedding Planner(’s Assistant) by crinklefries/ @spacerenegades (Shrinkyclinks | 40K | Teen): Bucky Barnes is in a bit of a conundrum. For example, on the one hand, he’s the former extremely polished, brutally efficient, and impressively ruthless brainwashed weapon of mass murder for the secret Nazi arm of the United States government. On the other hand, he has an uncontrollable crush on the cute blond wedding planner who lives next door.
Accidental husbands... by darter_blue/ @darter-blue (Shrunkyclunks, Accidental Marriage | 2K | Mature): Or the one where Bucky finds himself accidentally married to a superhero. And he definitely isn't mad about it.
WIP
💙 and the river flows beneath your skin by Deisderium/ @deisderium (Boarding School AU, Soulmates | 9/? | 70K | Mature): In which Steve and Bucky are forced to room together their senior year at boarding school, and accidentally soul bond to each other even though they kind of hate each other. All they have to do to get out of it is not kiss each other for a year so the accidental bond will fade. How hard could it be?
Re-Read
💙 (760): I literally cut myself out of my pants. Waste. Of. Money. by relenafanel/ @relenafanel (Modern AU | 6K | Mature): Hey friend of Sam’s can I get an opinion on this outfit? Bucky texted, attaching the selfie taken in Sam’s bathroom mirror. He received an answer almost immediately. Bucky was almost expecting a lecture, or at least a concerned question about who had stolen Sam’s phone. He got neither. Or: Bucky strikes up a flirtation with a stranger over text message in the month leading up to Valentine's Day.
💙 Bucky Barnes and his Big Beefy Blonde by Kellyscams/ @thebestpersonherelovesbucky (Shrunkyclunks, PWP | 6K | Explicit): Bucky Barnes loves Big, Beefy, Blondes. What he loves most about Big, Beefy, Blondes is having no string attached sex with them. Until he meets a Big, Beefy, Blonde that just happens to be Steve Rogers -- Captain America who's only been declared alive a few months ago. This is one that could go down as Bucky's fuck of a lifetime. That's if he can avoid these pesky feelings that start showing up out of nowhere.
💙 Bucky Barnes and his Big Beefy Blonde Part 2 by Kellyscams/ @thebestpersonherelovesbucky (Shrunkyclunks, Strangers to Lovers | 16K | Explicit): Bucky Barnes once spent eight glorious, sex-filled days with the Big, Beefy, Blonde fuck of a lifetime -- the recently defrosted Steve "Captain America" Rogers. Three months later, things aren't exactly the way Bucky imagined they'd be. This Big, Beefy, Blonde, really may have changed him forever.
💙 Series: You Make Me Feel Like I Am Home Again by Taste_is_Sweet/ @taste-is-sweet (Canon, Post-Winter Soldier | 19 works | 127K | Teen): Connected stories about Bucky and Steve: the world's most adorable relics.
if ye be worthy by hitlikehammers (Post-AOU | 2K | Teen): “Do you know what that is?” Bruce asks, voice low, but that’s not really new, for him. “It’s Thor’s hammer-thingy,” Bucky shrugs. “Look, man, I know it was shitty to give it a swing without him knowing, I’m sor—” “You swung it?”
💙 For Words to Say it Right by Squeaky, Taste_is_Sweet/ @taste-is-sweet (Modern AU, Soulmates | 25K | Teen): Turns out when you're missing an arm, everyone asks are you okay? all the damn time. And when your soulmark is one of the most common questions in English, it's even worse. Generic soulmarks are a bitch.
💙 Just Hold Me by shanology/ @shanology (Post-Winter Soldier | 10K | Explicit): Bucky Barnes is living in Avengers Tower, and all he wants in the world is to be cuddled. He sets out to get his new friends to give him the snuggling he needs, because it's not something he can ask of Steve yet. Steve doesn't see it in quite the same way. Also, there are Avengers movie nights, possibly with a showing of The Covenant. Just saying.
💙 Imprint by hetrez (Post-Avengers | 7K | General): "The next day, Steve and the other Avengers are just settling into a meeting on the flight deck when there's a muffled yell, and Alvarez falls out of the ceiling." -- Or, Steve builds a training program, a team, and new life for himself. (Part 1 of Make Way For Ducklings)
💙 Awakenings by hetrez (Canon divergent - Winter Soldier | 19K | Explicit): Bucky says, "Do you know, after you leave -- every time you leave, after the doctors have taken my mask off, I walk around this place and try to find everywhere you've been. Was your hand on the toaster? Did you lean against the doorway? Where were you on the couch? I haven't seen your face in seventy-five years, not really." (Part 2 of Make Way For Ducklings)

CARLOS SPEAKS HIS MIND
Montmeló 06 May 2021
For the Gran Premio Aramco de España di Formula 1, Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow’s Spanish driver, Carlos Sainz, granted a long interview to the official programme, in which he talked about himself, as a person and as a racing driver. Here is what he had to say.
We hear you are a burger connoisseur… what makes a great burger? Where was the best you ever had?
I LOVE BURGERS! I guess a great burger is defined by the patty and the bun. The extra ingredients play their part too…but without a juicy patty and a perfect bun you will never get top marks! I try to have a burger in every city we visit. Melbourne definitely has one of the best I´ve tried.
What’s the attraction of golf? We hear you play off a 9 handicap, so do you think you could play professionally if you put your mind to it? Of course, we presume you are better than your fellow drivers on the golf course…
Golf is the perfect way to clear your head from all other things and just enjoy three or four hours outdoors with friends or family. A round of golf requires full focus and it can get super competitive. You play against others but also against your own handicap. I like that. However, to play at a professional level I would have to give up racing, and I don´t see that happening for a while! I like to see other drivers picking up golf. If they practice enough, I´m sure they will lower their handicap quickly.
Where did the interest in boxing come from? What weight would you make if you fought professionally? Who’s you hero boxer?
My performance coach used to work with a professional boxer and he learned quite a lot back in the day. Some years ago, we decided to introduce it in my training routines and I really enjoy it. It is a sport that requires strength and pushes your cardio to the limit. It is also very technical, so the more you boxe the more you want to improve. I guess I would be middleweight or super middleweight, depending on the diet…and the burgers! Nowadays I follow a lot Canelo Alvarez and Ryan Garcia.
You’re known for having a pretty intense work ethic. Did that come from your dad? What did he teach you about preparation and pressure?
My dad has been a great support for me throughout my career and I have learned many things from him. Attention to detail is something that he took to a different level back in the day and I have embraced since I was very young. I´ve also learned from him that there is no gain in dwelling too much on a bad result or celebrating too much a good one. In both situations, you have to analyse carefully what happened, learn, improve, reset and move on to the next race.
Caco, Rupert and yourself seem to have a very strong relationship on both a personal and professional level. How important is having people around you? Did working in a bubble make you closer, or did you want to kill each other?
I think having the right people around you is key for any athlete. When you have full confidence in your personal team you can focus more on the sporting side and that translates into better performance. F1 is very peculiar because we travel to an incredible number of countries in 9 months, so you get to spend a lot of time with your team. In my case, I think we have found a great balance between us. We know how to differentiate between work and leisure. We follow a very professional approach to the sport, whilst having fun and enjoying the experience along the way.
Not so long ago people introduced you as ‘the son of Carlos Sainz’, now it’s more a case of some will introduce your father as ‘Carlos Sainz’s dad’. How does that play out around the dinner table at home with your dad?
We don´t really speak about it to be honest. I guess it’s just natural. When you are a kid, you normally get introduced as “the son of” and years ago I still had a lot to prove in the motorsport world. Now things have obviously evolved, but I don´t really think my father gets introduced as being my dad! He has earned the right to be recognised as King Carlos! What I must say is that neither of us like the “Junior” tag that sometimes comes along with my name, and he has happily accepted the “Senior” tag to avoid it!
One of the risks in moving to Ferrari was going up against one of the sport’s most highly-rated drivers. You’ve done that with Max, Daniel, Lando and now Charles? Are you a masochist?
This is Formula 1. The best 20 drivers of the world are here and, inevitably, you are going to have to compete against all of them if you want to become World Champion, whether they are team mates or not. It´s just part of the game. If you are scared of going up against any other driver, you are just in the wrong sport.
You’ve made some brave moves in your career: leaving the Red Bull Programme, finding your way to McLaren, then joining Ferrari. Do you find it easy to make big career choices?
I think the key behind any career choice is a proper decision-making process. Once you have analysed all the possible scenarios, with the information at your disposal at that time, you can evaluate your options and decide what is best for you. Personally, once I take a decision, I fully commit to it. Only time will tell if that decision was good or bad.
Being a Ferrari driver is a notoriously high-pressure role and public criticism can be vicious. How is being at Ferrari different to driving for McLaren, for Renault, for Toro Rosso?
Every F1 driver has a lot of pressure, not only Ferrari drivers. The key is not how much pressure there is, but how you handle it. Ferrari is expected to be at the top because it is the most successful team in the history of the sport. We share the same goal, which is to be back winning as soon as possible, and that inevitably sets the bar very high. I turn that ambitious goal into motivation rather than pressure, and it gives me strength to keep going.
When you were a youngster, you frequently held up Sebastian Vettel as the ideal role model. Was that politeness, given your place in the Red Bull Junior Team, or was Seb the driver you really looked up to?
I´ve known Seb for many years and he has always been a reference in my career. I was doing endless hours of simulator at Red Bull Racing when he was winning World Championships and I learned a lot from his way of doing things, in and out of the track. He is definitely one of the best drivers in the history of the sport and I will always consider him a role model in many ways.
You came through the Red Bull junior programme when the competition was intense with Daniel and JEV, Dany, yourself, Antonio Felix da Costa. What was that like? Were you all in constant competition? Did you ever worry about not making it?
All Junior programmes are designed to identify the best young talents out there. Of course, it was constant competition but in a healthy way. You want to prove yourself at all costs and every time you jump in a car you want to beat the other drivers, whether it’s a race or a test or even in the simulator. Knowing how difficult it is to get a seat in F1, you always have that fear of not making it. But if you commit yourself to it, you trust in your talent and you put the work in, the fears disappear and you just focus on giving your best.
Are you superstitious? And which football team do you support?
I´m not a superstitious guy. I have several routines that I like to follow during a Grand Prix weekend, but given each country, circuit and paddock is different you sometimes have to change and adapt those routines. The doubt about the football team is offensive…REAL MADRID forever!
